Anyone else nearing goal and struggling a bit?

I've lost over 30 pounds since Feb, eating carefully and exercising more. I'm just within my healthy bmi but want to lose another 9 pounds or so to sit comfortably in the healthy range.

Obviously the weight's coming off more slowly now and that's fine but I am struggling to keep at it. I'm so close but yet so far!

Anyone in a similar situation?

I'm baaaaaack!!!!!

Feel like a slug after a week of eating, drinking and no exercise. Looking forward to getting back usual tomorrow. Bit scared to stand on the scales, although I know a lot of the increase will be water weight. I might give myself a few days before facing up to it!!

How is everyone?

Well done chumbler. Fantastic achievement. You must feel great Smile.

Flan, you're doing so well. Can't wait to nudge into the "9 stone-something" bracket.

LetMeDriveTheBus · 22/08/2015 16:32

It was lovely thanks chumbler. Was brave and hopped on scales. 7 pounds on!!!! Am hoping most of that will shift pretty quickly.

Another pound off is great. Well done!

Well done on all those magnificent weight losses.

LetMeDriveTheBus · 24/08/2015 08:20

Welcome Dowser. And congratulations on your upcoming wedding! How lovely.

Had a sneaky weight check this morning and a few pounds of holiday weight is already gone. So I'm hoping I'll be not knocked too far off track.

chumbler · 26/08/2015 16:24

how exciting, dowser Smile what a lovely event to spur you on too!

well done letmedrivethebus! back at the weekend so hoping I've done OK this week, annoying everyone with my goody goody attitude to food! Grin

chumbler · 28/08/2015 13:54

How's everyone doing?

I've lost nothing this week and completely lost my motivation. Yesterday ate one and a half large bars of chocolate. Currently making Tiffin. Help Sad

LetMeDriveTheBus · 28/08/2015 15:05

Tiffin!!!! Bloody LOVE tiffin!

Don't let staying the same derail you chumbler. We're playing the long game here and there are going to be weeks that are more of a struggle than others. Am sending you some will power but I have no restraint once I start on the choc.

I'm desperate to lose my holiday weight. A week on I'm still about 3 pounds up but will weigh in officially tomorrow. I went clothes shopping today which was great fun and bought a few nice bits. But as I'm still not at goal yet I don't want to buy TOO much. It was a big motivator looking round all the shops. I was tempted by lots of the goodies on display at the farms markets etc but kept thinking "If I don't make a change, nothing will change". That's my mantra to try and stay on track.

OP posts:
chumbler · 28/08/2015 16:23

Thanks letmedrivethebus

You're right about it being the long game, it's so easy to forget that. I blame going food shopping somewhere different this week, I never ever buy chocolate but wanted to buy a bar for someone's birthday then somehow thought I should treat myself so bought more bars, then realised I shouldn't have so his them from dh, then realised id rather have them out of the house, but instead of giving them away I decided to eat them :( an excuse I know but that was my reasoning. Hoping to see some friends tonight so will give them what's left of the Tiffin (already ate quarter of it...)

Well done on keeping away at the markets, I like your mantra! Think I'll re-look at my rules to refresh myself and need to keep up my food diary as I didn't keep it whilst away. Might start planning my meals again too to help me around lunch time - all my bad stuff happens when I'm alone during the day!

Ah new clothes! Definitely a big motivator!!

Fingers crossed for official weigh ins tomorrow!

chumbler · 28/08/2015 16:24

*so hid then from dh, not his them!

LetMeDriveTheBus · 29/08/2015 10:05

Sadly I had no magic weight loss over night. Still 3 pounds up. Crap! Oh well, I must let this spur me on not hold me back.

So I'm 10 4 now. Aiming for 9 9 I think, ultimately.

How are you doing chumbler? Today is a new, fresh day.

OP posts:
LetMeDriveTheBus · 29/08/2015 10:06

And how is everyone else getting on?

OP posts:
chumbler · 29/08/2015 13:10

Still 10st 12 and a half here.

Feeling deflated! But yes, it should spur us on. We are so close!!!! I want to get to 10st 7 so 5 and a half pounds to go. If I put my mind to it I could be there by mid September - that's pretty motivating for me.

Do you have a plan of action letmedrivethebus? Or just carrying on being healthy?

LetMeDriveTheBus · 29/08/2015 13:57

That does sound achievable and pretty motivating chumbler.

I'm calorie counting and exercising but have injured myself being silly with the kids so have been forced to rest this week. V annoying.

My neighbour just brought over a lovely crumble so I've had some with my lunch. Now I want MORE!!! Need to restrain myself. I want to maintain the healthy changes I've made. I don't ever want to be overweight again.

OP posts:
LetMeDriveTheBus · 30/08/2015 09:55

Well, yesterday's unexpected crumble delivery was a slippery slope to eating "all the food I possibly could".

Crap crap crap. Line drawn underneath. No guilt but there is frustratration with myself.

Eating well today. Like a normal, healthy, slim person.

OP posts:
chumbler · 30/08/2015 15:06

Nah never mind letmedrivethebus, I am exactly the same. Gave the Tiffin away, now searching for sweet treats everywhere. Definitely a slippery slope and possibly a sugar addiction for me!

Well done eating well today. What exercise do you do? I seriously need to start swimming asap! Need to sit down with dh to check times so he can have DD. Will try to catch him tonight!

LetMeDriveTheBus · 30/08/2015 18:18

Today has turned out almost as rubbish as yesterday on the eating front Blush. Argh!

It certainly is a slipperly slope. Pass me a grip chumbler!!!"

I do a cardio class and lift free weights at the gym. The weights are a new venture but I'm totally loving it. Think part of the problem this last couple of days is that I'm injured and can't do my usual routines. It's thrown me completely off.

Can we get back on this wagon together??

OP posts:
chumbler · 31/08/2015 08:50

Right. We can do it!

Today is a fresh start, we're going to eat healthily again and by next week we WILL see weight loss on the scales Grin

LetMeDriveTheBus · 31/08/2015 09:30

Virtual kick up the arse gratefully received Grin.

We can do this!

OP posts:
chumbler · 02/09/2015 14:36

We can!

Still feeling positive. How are things with you letmedrivethebus?

LetMeDriveTheBus · 02/09/2015 19:18

Glad to hear it chumbler.

I've stayed on track but it's been a struggle TBH. Am successfully fighting the urge to EAT EVERYTHING!

OP posts:
chumbler · 03/09/2015 09:51

Haha know how you feel, it's like an addiction isnt it, hard to break the habit after last week!

But still at it, hoping to see my efforts have paid off on Saturday :)

LetMeDriveTheBus · 03/09/2015 21:02

Realised the reason I've been so out of control and cravey is probably because I'm on my period. I've felt more in control today.

Eating like a beast on sat and sun certainly seemed to "switch on" all the sugar cravings that hadn't bothered me for ages.

I'd be thrilled to stay the same this week after how much I've struggled.

chumbler · 03/09/2015 21:41

Ah life really does make losing weight so hard!!

Yes definitely agree about a switch! I made edible cookie dough yesterday...! Hard to stop when you start. Going to try though

Had big curry tonight so got to be good to make sure it doesn't affect my weight too much!
