Anyone else nearing goal and struggling a bit?

I've lost over 30 pounds since Feb, eating carefully and exercising more. I'm just within my healthy bmi but want to lose another 9 pounds or so to sit comfortably in the healthy range.

Obviously the weight's coming off more slowly now and that's fine but I am struggling to keep at it. I'm so close but yet so far!

Anyone in a similar situation?

well done flanjabelle Smile

healthy eating going well here too, also managed to get out for walks with the lovely weather - and walking around shopping too! Grin

LetMeDriveTheBus · 12/08/2015 19:05

That's great to hear flan. Very good going.

I'm having a healthy week before a weekend of birthday celebrations and holiday next week. Trying to minimise the damage with nutritious goodness this week Grin

Good plan bus!

It's so weird to think I am nearly at goal. I think there is a little bit of me that is trying to sabotage it, but I don't really understand why. I have wanted to be slim my whole life, and now I'm nearly there. It's just a bit daunting to think bout maintaining it for the rest of my life I think. It's easier to binge and diet than keep control all the time. I have worked really hard on my food issues this time, but they are still there.

LetMeDriveTheBus · 13/08/2015 07:26

I know exactly what you mean. It is a daunting prospect and something I'll have to conscious of for the rest of my life. It would be so easy to fall back into old habits and quickly get back to old up and down weight.

Need to keep looking at my "before" underwear photos. I look awful!! I NEVER want to be that flabby again.

OP posts:
flanjabelle · 13/08/2015 07:42

These are my before and afters. I Can see the difference, but I don't feel slim yet.

I don't care if this outs me, I never post anything interesting anyway!

amazing flanjabelle! well done!!! you have amazing legs!

letmedrivethebus - completely agree, that's why I'm trying so hard not to diet so that I just form healthy habits but I can't imagine ever being someone that won't binge on chocolate cake the first chance I get!!

lost another ½lb Smile after having baby I really appreciate how much that is! I also record my water and fat % from my scales, not sure how accurate it is but I like to see the progress I make there too as it's an extra indication of how far I've come Smile

contemplating my next goal now, as I found eating my 5 a day much easier than expected! might have a goal to walk 5 or 6 times a week?

keep it up everyone Smile

flanjabelle · 13/08/2015 09:58

Oh thank you very much. I have always carried all my weight on my middle, so still have a tummy, but never mind!

flanjabelle · 13/08/2015 09:58

Well done on your loss chumbler, good going!

chumbler · 13/08/2015 12:14

thanks Smile hah me too with the tummy! trying to make the most of my huge milk boobs at the mo LOL Grin

didn't buy my weekly treat at the supermarket today, feeling virtuous Grin

LetMeDriveTheBus · 13/08/2015 19:15

Well done chumbler.

flan you look absolutely sensational. You should be really proud of what you've achieved.

My weight loss must be suddenly very noticeable because today I've had 4 different people comment on how good I'm looking. Maybe it was what I was wearing but it was nice Smile.

flanjabelle · 13/08/2015 20:43

Oh thank you very much, that's really nice of you.

chumbler · 15/08/2015 08:32

that's great, letmedrivethebus Smile

my family have been commenting on how well I'm losing my baby belly, it actually really upsets me because 1. I've actually lost all my baby weight already, I'm not LOSING it I've already lost it, and 2. it reminds me about the flabby skin that remains Sad dh says I'm being oversensitive!

had a curry last night, ate much less than I usually would but I still overate and felt too full, feeling guilty! BBQ later so going to at least try not to overeat and instead just enjoy it

how's everyone else doing?

chumbler · 15/08/2015 08:34

oh and 3. it reminds that I was (and still am) fat before the baby, as even though I've already lost the weight people still think I look fat Sad

sorry!!! just really hits a nerve when people say that, even though they think they're being really nice

LetMeDriveTheBus · 15/08/2015 09:51

Weigh in for me and 1 and 1/2 pounds off. 10 stone 0.5 pounds which is my wedding dress weight. I thrilled and feel great!

Chumbler I know where you're coming from. I think "Did I look that terrible before??"

I've got meals out today and tomorrow so going to enjoy those without over-eating at other meals. That's the plan anyway! Afternoon tea at lunchtime.....yum!

OP posts:
chumbler · 15/08/2015 15:29

that's awesome letmedrivethebus! well done [sm

I love this thread - it's so nice to be able to eat out and not feel bad about it Smile enjoy your afternoon tea! I'll try to weigh in tomorrow

LetMeDriveTheBus · 16/08/2015 08:34

Afternoon tea was lush thanks. Made more special by the fact I don't eat like that very often.

I had a light dinner, something I notice my DH, who is naturally slim, does instinctively. If he over eats on one occasion he'll eat less subsequently. If I over eat on one occasion I have to fight the desire to eat more more more! Need to try and eat like a normal person!!

OP posts:
chumbler · 16/08/2015 08:45

awesome Grin

hahaha know what you mean completely! my habits are so ingrained in trying to pick up things from DHs family. mil and I were buying a pizza once from m&s for tea and I said, let's get garlic bread - she looked really confused and said won't that be a lot of carbs? Shock she's not dieting, just slim!!

I was also v restrained at party last night. usually in bed by 10pm but stayed up til 2am. was quite hungry at 2am too but resisted the urge, drank lots of water and fell straight asleep!

chumbler · 16/08/2015 09:25

1lb off this week, now at 10st 13 and a half, so just half a pound to go to my 1st goal Smile

LetMeDriveTheBus · 16/08/2015 13:08

Well done! Star

Hey everyone! I've been reading but not posting, have had such a busy week with family birthday parties, including my own son's first birthday. Not much time to dedicate to dieting but back on it today. Well done to all the losses!

LetMeDriveTheBus · 19/08/2015 09:36

I'm on holiday so basically filling my face! Food is amazing and booze is plentiful. Only here til Friday so back to the usual regime Saturday.

Hey, still not logging calories, trying to go by what I have learnt. I'm losing a lb a week which is brilliant. Down to 9 stone 11 now. I have relaxed a bit as I'm happy for this last bit to go nice and slowly, I'm hoping this is good prep for maintenance.

Hope you are all doing well and enjoying your holiday/family events :)

chumbler · 19/08/2015 12:10
