Hello Smile
I've recently lost over 30lbs but I still need to lose another 30ish. Anyone want to join in for some support/motivation? I'm thinking weekly Monday morning weigh ins starting tomorrow (Not compulsory).
I'm going to do healthy food at about 1000-1200 calls a day. I may also add in some fast days too.
All diet types and weights welcome Smile

Good work DrRoss! Especially with all the cake. DH's 40th in a couple of weeks - a Las Vegas blowout followed by thanksgiving birthday feast and tonnes of cake - which I'm mainly ordering for my benefit as he doesn't really eat cake ;)

So I weighed in today and i lost another couple of pounds:

142.9
138.2
135.8 (today)

I'm aiming for 120lbs eventually.

Calorie restricting to 1000-1300 per day and drinking lots of water/green tea. Swimming yesterday and I'll do barre today... Might have a green smoothie for lunch too, like rooster :)

RoosterCogburn · 06/11/2015 19:59

Well done DrRoss and Mama.

DrRoss I made a chicken and chorizo casserole slow cooker recipe last week and it was lovely. I added butterbeans and it was very filling.

StopLaughingDrRoss · 06/11/2015 22:28

That sounds delicious Rooster - yum!

lorelei9 · 07/11/2015 10:31

yes, I tried making some lamb but tbh it was the same problem - yes, it's tender but not quite the texture I was expecting. Does this just mean that ovens are better?!

Mama - I love Vegas!! please report back!

educatingarti · 09/11/2015 10:26

Week 1 157lb
Week 2 156.5lb
Week 3 154lb Phew!
Just need to keep going and not undo the hard work now!

lorelei9 · 09/11/2015 18:05

Well done educating, you've encouraged me too. I have lost the pound I gained last week but that's it. Trying a bit of intermittent fasting this week. Realistically that will mean a cut in calories but I need that. Can't believe how slow this is.
Today was the longest day at work, work boredom such a challenge.

mintoil · 09/11/2015 21:18

I have only lost half a pound this week. Half an effing pound Xmas Angry

We did have OFSTED in though - so there were flapjacks and cakes lying around and I might have eaten a couple accidentally sort of.

Ah well, I now have a crush!!! This is usually a really good thing for me in terms of weight loss, so lets see if it works this time. I will be seeing Crush on Friday so maybe I will have dropped a dress size lost a pound or two by then.

RoosterCogburn · 09/11/2015 23:14

No loss for me this week.

Mintoil- OFSTED surely means you are exempt from dieting this week! Hope it went well.

Well done educating, that's a great loss.

Lorelei, any loss is good!

Rooster your weight loss is inspirational. My starting weight was similar to yours and I am five foot five. If I am 156 pounds in in 15 weeks I will be able to fit into clothes I haven't been able to squeeze my huge middle into for ages.

My problem is that if I don't lose consistently I tend to think WTF, this is useless, I may as well dive into the cheesecake.

Never mind, I will stay with you guys and we will do it together. I also have started re using MFP which I think helps for a short while.

RoosterCogburn · 10/11/2015 16:09

Ahhh, thank you Minitoil Blush - Mind you, when I tell you I am only 5 foot 2 you will appreciate how tubby I was.
I carry my weight around my middle and on my face - not a good look at all.
I'm not slim yet, but I definitely feel better and I can get into lots more of my clothes.

I've said it before on this thread but for the first time ever I'm looking at weight loss as a long term thing. In the past if Ive had a couple of weeks where I haven't lost weight i have given up.
This time I'm trying to look ahead - for example if I carry on at the same pace by February half term I could have lost another 10b which would put me at less then 10.5 stone.

I didn't put the weigh on in a few weeks, so the reality is getting rid of it is going to be a longish process.

I also keep reminding myself that 15 weeks ago if you had asked how I would feel to be 16lb lighter i would have been jumping for joy.

lorelei9 · 12/11/2015 09:53

woke up in the middle of the night, couldn't get back to sleep, ate lots of cheese and bread.

argh.

starting to panic about how close my holiday is....and Xmas - couple of things I'd like to look better for.

mintoil · 12/11/2015 16:40

lorelei don't let it derail you, it's just a blip. Do you have to have cheese in the house? I don't eat it at all but a friend of mine lost two stone when she gave up her nightly bread and cheese fest.

I have been very very good the past two days - feeling virtuous. Having to see The Crush helps. I have got to the point where my own body disgusts me and that must be really unhealthy mentally and emotionally.

This time round I really have to do this and make it stick.

lorelei9 · 12/11/2015 18:05

mintoil - I consider cheese a good food, it's not something I would normally overeat on, but if I'm awake half the night, pretty much anything will do.

I didn't have breakfast though so hopefully have cancelled out something!

my problem is a sweet tooth so I've decided I can't have any chocolate in the house till after my holiday.

RoosterCogburn · 12/11/2015 18:06

Never mind Lorelei it's just a temporary blip. Can you set yourself a mini, short term goal for Christmas.
I'm very goal/reward oriented! I find it helps me focus.

mintoil you are making me smile with 'The Crush' - what a great incentive.

lorelei9 · 12/11/2015 18:22

Rooster - I'm finding it hard to even contemplate Xmas. I hadn't joined the thread at this point, but I just looked at my online log - at the start of September I wanted 2 stone off by Xmas, which should have been doable, and now I'm staring down 6 weeks till Xmas!!

I'm having a shit day today generally so I'm probably best not thinking about it too much.

StopLaughingDrRoss · 13/11/2015 11:37

I managed to lose a pound this week:

Week 4: 188 lbs

That does make sad reading though as it's taken me a month to lose 2 lbs! I will admit that I have completely taken my eye off the prize though so need to get back on it! Perhaps I need a crush Wink

And Lorelei - don't be too hard on yourself. . This isn't easy and I think the fact on TV and in mags etc it's portrayed that way, makes it much easier to give up but we're all in the same boat on here and I know we all totally get the struggle. You will get there even if it takes longer than planned!

I wanted another stone gone by Xmas and I've only managed 2 lbs.. but I'll get there as, like Rooster - this time I know it's going to be a long term thing. Slow and steady wins the race (my mantra!)

RoosterCogburn · 14/11/2015 11:55

I'm with you DrRoss - fully fledged member of the tortoise gang!

mintoil · 15/11/2015 20:16

Starting Weight 12st 6lbs
Week 1 12st 2lbs
Week 2 12st 1.5 lbs
Week 3 11st 13.5 lbs

So that's 6.5 lbs in three weeks. It's not bad is it? I am happy to be back under 12 stone though.

Let's see if The Crush notices tomorrow? Doubtful Grin

lorelei9 · 15/11/2015 20:53

Well done mint! That's the loss I was after....I weigh in tomorrow, yikes.

RoosterCogburn · 15/11/2015 21:01

Yaaay for mintoil - that's brilliant.

Are you exercising and dieting?

educatingarti · 16/11/2015 07:35

Week 1 157lb
Week 2 156.5lb
Week 3 154lb
Week 4 152.5lb
Would have liked to have lost a little more than this but at least it is still going in the right direction!

Well done Mintoil! You' be done brilliantly well.

lorelei9 · 16/11/2015 09:50

Well done educating
1.5lb loss for me
Hope for 2 next week....

MamaLizard · 16/11/2015 15:47

Hello all
Thought I'd join the Monday weigh ins!

Great work arti and lorelei! That's awesome. 1.5lb in a week is fantastic so don't be disappointed.

I've actually gained 0.2lb; it wasn't a crazily indulgent week and I actually worked out 4 times, but it shows how disciplined I do need to be. Eg, I edged over my calorie allowance more than once, drank caffeinated coffee with milk; ate carbs in the evening several times and went boozing on Saturday night!

So hoping for another lb down before Vegas on Friday... Might do a juice cleanse on Thursday. Barre twice and swimming once this week.

142.9
138.7
135.8
136

See you later x

RoosterCogburn · 16/11/2015 16:27

Well done everybody. Little by little the pounds are creeping off!

0.4lb loss for me this week - scary that MFP tells me I have been doing this for 123 days which is about one third of a year!
I had to go to a meeting last week and give a presentation in front of a large group - I know it's shallow but I couldn't help thinking "at least I'm more than a stone lighter then I was last time I had to do this"
My aim is to be at least half a stone lighter next time I have to see them which will probably be in February.

Starting weight 172.8lb
Week One 167.2lb
Week Two 166.2lb
Week Three 165.2lb
Week Four 164.8lb
Week Five 163.4lb
Week Six 163.8lb
Week Seven 162.2lb
Week Eight 162lb
Week Nine 161lb
Week Ten 160lb
Week Eleven 158.8lb
Week twelve 158.8lb
Week Thriteen 160lb
Week Fourteen 158lb
Week Fifteen 156.4lb
Week Fifteen 156.4lb
Week Sixteen 156lb

lorelei9 · 16/11/2015 16:46

Mama p, you had major losses early on though.
Rooster, I know what you mean re presentation.
Well done everyone.
