Hello Smile
I've recently lost over 30lbs but I still need to lose another 30ish. Anyone want to join in for some support/motivation? I'm thinking weekly Monday morning weigh ins starting tomorrow (Not compulsory).
I'm going to do healthy food at about 1000-1200 calls a day. I may also add in some fast days too.
All diet types and weights welcome Smile

Which workout are you doing lorelei?

lorelei9 · 05/10/2015 18:18

Jillian Michaels Beginner Shred. Well, the thread is about Main Shred, but I think the same principle may apply.

RoosterCogburn · 05/10/2015 18:44

I did the shred a few years ago and I toned up but didn't lose weight.

lorelei9 · 05/10/2015 18:50

Rooster, did you diet at the same time?

RoosterCogburn · 05/10/2015 19:04

No, I was labouring under the illusion that I just needed to tone up (even though the bottom line is that I was porky!)

lorelei9 · 05/10/2015 19:14

phew wipes brow

educatingarti · 06/10/2015 08:03

154lb this morning which is a little better!

SnowyMountains · 06/10/2015 09:33

Can I join? I am starting to creep up to a size 12 in jeans and I have heaps of tummy fat. Am about 5t6 and weigh about 11 stone at an estimate as I don't actually own a pair of scales Blush first thing to buy when I get paid..

I am going swimming tomorrow as I am an ex swimmer but am hoping to join a gym in a month and will play friendly hockey games but in the mean time I need to sort out my eating habits, I have actually got no idea where to start other than cut out the carbs.

lorelei9 · 06/10/2015 10:03

educating, well done! I am half a pound less this morning which I think was the "real" reading I should have had yesterday.

Snowy, this may not be popular, I don't know how the others feel but this thread was started for losing 30lb ish. Those of us here already are looking at a hell of a long slog. If you think you're 11st at 5 foot 6, you aren't even overweight so I don't actually think this is the right thread for you. I'm overjoyed that size 18 is too big for me, if you're creeping up a to a 12.....I would be delighted to be in your situation in 6 months time, but if you post here about you're already a perfectly healthy weight and have lost 3lb this week, I for one am going to need to start another support thread for those of us needing to lose a lot of weight.

It seems fairer for you to start your own "tone up" thread or something?

SnowyMountains · 06/10/2015 11:44

Okay I wasn't sure, I am new here and know f all about losing weight, toning, healthy eating habits etc.

Thanks for your advice, you are probably right on the toning, I seriously need to do some research.

I am sorry if I offended and good luck Flowers

lorelei9 · 06/10/2015 12:40

not offended at all Snowy, I was worried about offending you so thanks for understanding.

Good luck!

TwoTonTessie · 07/10/2015 05:35

I am a bit of a lurker here and just wanted to say how inspiring this thread has been. I have lost 30lbs in 12 weeks through SW and feel so much better for it. I still have a little way to go to get to target but will keep at it Smile

sammy5399 · 07/10/2015 07:41

hi can I join I also need help too lose weight

lorelei9 · 07/10/2015 09:03

TwoTon - wow! well done. That makes me feel like I should be losing more weight, I think it's entirely possible but I'm probably just eating a bit too much, hence the slow loss, so really have to look at that.

30lb in 12 weeks is incredible.

hi sammy!

glad people are finding the thread helpful.

RoosterCogburn · 07/10/2015 18:56

Welcome Sammy

TwoTon, 30lb in 12 weeks is brilliant! I was pleased with my 14b in 11 weeks.
Are you exercising as well as dieting?

TwoTonTessie · 07/10/2015 19:06

Not really Rooster. I do about an hour of walking daily but I have always done that. I think it is only making a difference now I am eating less which makes sense I suppose.

RoosterCogburn · 07/10/2015 22:12

You're right, the only thing that actually makes a real difference is eating less.

In the past I've tried to convince myself that walking further or doing exercise is enough but my increasing size showed that it wasn't.

I'm now only eating at meal times and I'm embarrassed about the amount of food I was eating in between meals (all empty calories) - I was like a human dustbin, no wonder I put on so much weight

educatingarti · 12/10/2015 11:08

155.5lb - noooooooo!

lorelei9 · 12/10/2015 11:58

Educating, helps if you say whether loss or gain but scrolling back I see that's a gain, could just be water?

I've lost a pound.

educatingarti · 12/10/2015 13:30

Yes gained since last Monday! No idea if that is water or not.
Well done on your lb loss!

RoosterCogburn · 12/10/2015 23:16

TwoTonTessie · 13/10/2015 05:22

I am not feeling like I've lost anything this week Sad Had a stressful few days so haven't been as good as usual.

lorelei9 · 14/10/2015 22:12

Tessie, have you weighed yourself?

you should change your username Grin

TwoTonTessie · 14/10/2015 22:32

Sad a small gain this week. Am trying harder to have more veg and salads rather than carbs. Im a bit bunged up too which probably isn't helping.

lorelei9 · 14/10/2015 22:44

ach well, these things happen.

onwards and downwards.

I haven't the foggiest what will happen to me this week. I've had a lurgy, which bizarrely makes me want to eat more, which I haven't done too much of as I do have a fever...so confused. Was mostly in bed Mon & Tues so whatever happens happens, just hoping i feel better. Nutribullet - inspired by Rooster - has been handy because I needed the fruit and veg but would not have felt up to cooking etc, so at least I can get some good nutrients in one easy hit.
