Anyone with a stone or so to lose? Fancy buddying up?

I think i would be better if i had someone i didn't want to let down!
hopped on the scales this morning and 10st1lb dead. I was about 9 stone last summer and want to get back down there! Currently struggling to get back below ten i keep stalling (and eating biblical quantities of pitta and hummus and galaxy bars... not at the same time)

I have a beach holiday coming up in 10 weeks so a few pounds gone by then would be great!!
Anyone up for buddying up with a food dairy and telling me off?

It's pretty difficult to accurately measure body fat I think.

PointyBirds · 21/06/2015 16:57

I'll stop talking to myself now... Grin

houseHuntinginmanchester · 21/06/2015 17:00

Pointy I'm here I'm
Here Grin I'm just trying to figure out the numbers ! So I've basically lost a pound then??!

Feel better already Grin

houseHuntinginmanchester · 21/06/2015 17:04

Haha, well 38.5% is scarily close to 40% which almost seems like half . That's how good I am at maths Grin

Gosh. Didn't realise how fatty I actually was.

PointyBirds · 21/06/2015 17:33

You've lost 1.54lbs Smile .

I had my body fat measured at uni in a special pod thing that measured your total volume then worked out from height and weight what your percentage body fat is likely to be. I was 36%, "excess fat", eesh. But up to 30% was ok. As women we're supposed to be a quarter fat anyway. I don't know if any of this is reassuring... Grin

PointyBirds · 21/06/2015 17:35

The guy who worked the pod said the only accurate way to.measure body fat is to strip it off a cadaver and weigh it. which was not a terribly comforting thought.

houseHuntinginmanchester · 21/06/2015 17:38

Not really pointy, but I appreciate you trying Grin

But 1.5lbs in 4 days is not bad actually!

How does one burn fat?? Apart from the blindingly obvious exercise thing obvs, I'm not an exerciser
Just starve myself then?

PointyBirds · 21/06/2015 17:50

Yeah, pretty much. I've never really done any of the various diet plans, I know people.swear by different theories, but I figure your body isn't going to access it's fat stores while it has regular food coming in, so you are going to have to feel hungry at some point.

PointyBirds · 21/06/2015 17:52

It's probably not a very healthy mindset to get into though, that feeling hungry is 'good'.

houseHuntinginmanchester · 21/06/2015 17:55

Oh I don't think there's any danger of ever thinking or feeling that hungry is good GrinGrinGrin

I might have to start moving a little more though. Long walk in the evening it is...

EllaBella1 · 21/06/2015 23:03

Hi ladies . Not the best weekend for me. No exercising on sat or sun and food has been ok but not great. Back on healthy living tomorrow!

How do you work out body fat. Should I find they out?

Archduke · 21/06/2015 23:31

I've just weighed in 61.1kg which makes me 9st 8lbs ish. HOORAYYYYY that's me in the 9st range for the first time in a while.

Zipedeedooo dahhh zipedeee dayyyyyyyyy

Back on the Nutribullets today after my weekend break. Trying to make them slightly tastier by adding frozen berries.

Have a good week everyone.

TiredAssShowgirl · 22/06/2015 08:10

Well done Arch!! Look at you twirling there all fabulous Smile

I had more of an oops weigh in - 10st! Back to where i started, and 6 lb UP from Friday. Blush Sunday wasn't amazing but nowhere near the debauchery of Saturday. Anyhoo, onwards and downwards.

Ella, there are fancy pants scales that apparently measure body fat - i think it's accepted as a bit of a black art though, no one is all that sure how to do it!

lastqueenofscotland · 22/06/2015 08:14

.2 up from yesterday but haven't been to the loo so hopefully that's that!

Today is 30 min walk to the station further away from my house.
Run home from work (5 miles)

Eating I'm having a jacket potato for lunch and going to make a veggie lasagne later. - peppers tomatos courgettes with spinach and ricotta not bechamel so a bit healthier than normal ones I hope!!

Good morning :-) I can highly recommend sleeping through breakfast as a way to lose weight (did a 4am school trip drop off so I've just woken up Grin)
Clocking in at 10.13 this morning.
Well done to the losers, onwards and upwards to the gainers.

houseHuntinginmanchester · 22/06/2015 16:51

PointyBirds · 22/06/2015 22:03

I'm here Smile but had a slightly dodgy couple of days with pancakes and roasts yesterday and dc requesting chicken korma and homemade naans today. I tried to go for smaller portions so hopefully not too much damage done. I'll weigh at the gym tomorrow.

Mediumred · 22/06/2015 22:41

I didn't have the best weekend either! Loads of wine in Saturday then a picnic and curry on Sunday! Did make it to my HIIT class on Saturday lunchtime.

Been v good today
Breakfast - nothing
Lunch - tuna rice salad
Tea - mashed avocado with egg and tuna

Going to wait until Saturday to weigh myself again (surely will have worked off the curry by then!)

Good luck everyone.

Archduke · 22/06/2015 22:59

Thanks for the kind words folks! Only another stone to go!

Anyway, Xotic are you teeny weeny? 8st 10lb is pretty small already. Do you have much more to go? I used to be 8st ish in my 20's but now I'm 1000 years old I think I need to be heavier or I'll be all scrawny wrinkles.

HousehuntinginManchester 8 outfits in one shopping session! You're my kind of girl Grin.

Today is a filthy stormy winters day in Australia. So I've made a slow cooker beef stew for dinner tonight - heaps of veg in there so the kids will complain. I'll have more disgusting delicious and healthy Nutribullets for breaky and lunch.

How's summer in the Norther Hemisphere?
