Anyone with a stone or so to lose? Fancy buddying up?

I think i would be better if i had someone i didn't want to let down!
hopped on the scales this morning and 10st1lb dead. I was about 9 stone last summer and want to get back down there! Currently struggling to get back below ten i keep stalling (and eating biblical quantities of pitta and hummus and galaxy bars... not at the same time)

I have a beach holiday coming up in 10 weeks so a few pounds gone by then would be great!!
Anyone up for buddying up with a food dairy and telling me off?

And I'd be grateful if anybody wanted to share any meal plans with me Smile thanks

Welcome Walker

Christ Jesus though queen, that running - generally doing good stuff and making me wince. Are you drinking more water yet

Yesterday was alright - not great in terms of nutrition - a cupcake, 2 small glasses of wine, 2 gin and slims, 1 piece of pizza - but calorie wise was under.

As opposed to Thursday, where i did FABULOUSLY until 6.30 - then i went to the pub, drank lots of rum and sambuca, and ate 3 pieces of pizza and half a bowl of pulled pork nachos (so good). I wound up at 1500 cal Blush and mysteriously stopped posting in shame

I do however actually FEEL like i have lost weight this week, and not just bloat. I feel I've actually lost some off my back, legs and jaw, and when i look down it doesn't feel as huge.

The weekends are 'off ' days for me, I'm doing my own version of 5:2 (which i like, Walker - its not as extreme but basically its 5 days of 1000 cal and 2 normal ones - i basically find it easier to not eat at work) but I'm still in bed so haven't weighed yet! Scared to after my pizza on Thursday Blush

Out for fancy pants lunch and a concert today so we'll see how that goes!

Next week i will be good, and healthy, and eat protein and vegetables, and green leafy things with calcium and iron. And not get 70% of my calorie intake from booze. I think i also need a bad cop please!

houseHuntinginmanchester · 20/06/2015 11:23

Hi to all newbies, sorry to all those putting weight on and WELL DONE to those who have lost weight!

Blue - I don't have scales at home either (have two very young very susceptible dds and I am losing weight in complete secrecy!) .. So will go to the local pharmacy or boots later on today and weigh in and report back!

TiredAssShowgirl · 20/06/2015 12:59

Shock Shock Shock Shock Shock Shock Shock Shock Smile 9 st 8! I've not been 9 st 8 for 5 years.

Made me a bit more likely to be careful today.

Xoticdreamz · 20/06/2015 15:13

Brilliant tiredass . I think this week will be a good one for the pounds to disappear for folk on this thread.

BatCrapCrazy · 20/06/2015 16:19

Oh dear. All was going well until last night. Went to watch my cousin fight (he's a professional boxer). Our VIP tickets entitled us to the most delightful buffet I have ever seen. Pizza, onion bhajis, spring rolls all passed my lips in vast quantities.
On the way home, the sweet tooth set in so
I stopped off at sainsburys and bought a big bag of maltesers, tub of Ben and jerrys and a big bar of cadburys biscuit bar thingy.
I ate half the maltesers (DP ate the other half) and half the Ben and jerrys and 8
Squares of the chocolate.
This morning upon waking, I ate another 8 squares of the chocolate, 2 crackers with cheese, had a handful of chips for lunch and I've just eaten the rest of the Ben and jerrys.

Oops

houseHuntinginmanchester · 20/06/2015 16:23

Showgirl well done !! Thanks

Batcrap - that sounds like a binge after denying yourself all week , perhaps? Is there any chance of letting yourself have one tiny treat a day rather than binging at the end of a really controlled week? It might work better.

BatCrapCrazy · 20/06/2015 16:28

I think that will Prob be more sensible House. Having a bad day today and the kids are being awful so I'm not going to be too hard on myself about it. I'm going to the gym in an hour and will have chicken and veg for tea. Tomorrow I'm going to my gramps house for a BBQ but I'll stick to chicken and salady stuff and lay off the bread. Will cook all my lunches for the week tonight to freeZe. This week has been a ridiculously busy week as we've been getting everything in order to exchange contracts on a house and our tenant has moved out of our other house and left it in a ridiculous mess so we've been sorting that out.
Prep is definitely key

Mediumred · 20/06/2015 17:31

lastqueen you sound massively motivated after your setback!! Wow and so impressed with your running.

I joined this thread last Saturday after I realised I'd put on 3 pounds in a week, now I've lost it and more so I think a bad week can be tremendously motivating.

Really really well done to pointy and tiredass and all the others who've lost weight and fingers crossed for everyone else. Aww, Bat, you sound like you had a great night out and life would be pretty miserable without them! Don't feel bad, you sound like you have a very disciplined weekend planned!

lastqueenofscotland · 20/06/2015 18:43

finished my 13 mile run... is 6:45 too early to go to bed?!?!

OP posts:
DogWalker75 · 20/06/2015 18:55

13 miles Shock oh good lord, I can barely run one! I feel so defeated by C25K already Sad

I need to plan my weeks meals tonight and go shopping tomorrow. I like the idea of 1000 cals for 5 days and two normal days, so I think I will give that a go. Today and tomorrow can be my two normal days, or is that cheating GrinGrin

Has anybody got any recipes they can recommend for quick and easy meals?

TurnOverTheTv · 21/06/2015 09:09

Why oh why do I feel the need to 'treat' myself on a weekend? I am not a dog that gets food rewards FFS. And once I've had one 'bad' thing the rest of the day is a write off.

PointyBirds · 21/06/2015 09:23

Oh Turn, food as reward is really really hard to break, along with emotional eating of any kind. It's so deeply ingrained in our culture where we left eating for fuel behind a long time ago.

I think like houseHunting said before, allowing small treats occasionally stops the build up of self-denial, and means that if you do allow yourself to have something it doesn't mean that it's all pointless and you give up and give in to eating whatever you want.

The best thing if you've slacked off a bit and had something 'bad' (I don't really like talking about food as 'bad'...) is to forgive yourself, and crack on with the good work you were doing before :)

PointyBirds · 21/06/2015 09:27

As an example, I just had a pancake with blueberries, bacon and maple syrup, because that's what DH wanted for Father's Day and I wanted it to be a nice family breakfast, and we're going for a roast at PILs. But it's ok, and it'll all even out over the next week. It's the long game that's important :)

TurnOverTheTv · 21/06/2015 10:01

Ah Pointy the voice of reason :-) I've just refused a bacon/sausage/egg sandwich and had yogurt and fruit instead.

Archduke · 21/06/2015 10:23

LastQueen I am in awe of your 13 miles! Amazing.

TurnovertheTV I agree with pointybirds, I think you do need to try and change your mindset ie so called food "treats" aren't really good rewards if they are making you fat and miserable, however something delicious now and then is fine, just don't punish yourself by feeling grim and angry/disappointed after eating that chocolate (or whatever) and finish off the whole bar/packet etc.

Today I couldn't bear any more nutribullets. So had raw kale and avocado + some green dip for lunch (delicious but tbh anything would be I'm so ravenous), then dinner of 3 mini sausages, corn on the cob, broccolli, more kale and some roast potatoes.

It's almost 7pm here so that's it for me today. It was dd's 10th birthday party yesterday, I did have some pizza and a glass of champers (oh and crisps and dip) but that was more or less it for the day. Not terribly healthy.

Hope all going well for everyone. Enjoy fathers day.

PointyBirds · 21/06/2015 10:27

Good stuff :)

houseHuntinginmanchester · 21/06/2015 11:15

Wow, all that running sounds amazing!
Turn - don't beat yourself up. Let it even out over today.

I've been doing so well .. Then yesterday we went to my brothers house for dinner and sil made delicious starters all of them fried so may have slacked off a little there!
I didn't eat much of a main though so hoping it wasn't too damaging!

Need to weigh in - still not got the chance to go and find somewhere with scales. I feel slimmer though so let's see ..

TiredAssShowgirl · 21/06/2015 13:36

So hung over. But Blur were very good!

I didn't have a calorie limit yesterday as weekend day, but possibly should have done - was HUGE! CBA to list it, but it involves the words wine and prosecco a lot. We're talking 3000 cals. Now you mention that emotional food reward, had pudding as a 'treat' yesterday - didnt need it and didn't really want it, but its a 'treat'.

Walker, i pinned this site yesterday, looks like it has some good lower cal dinner options which I'm planning on rolling out next week! I also think that the Jamie Oliver 15 min meals would be a shout, they tend to come on around 500 cals i think and look good.

I'm not weighing in til tomorrow, hopefully i can fix this a bit Wink

lastqueenofscotland · 21/06/2015 14:10

.8 of a lb down from yesterday and ran my 10k in 54 mins this morning so happy with that. We have no food I want to eat in which is probably a good thing!

OP posts:
Xoticdreamz · 21/06/2015 15:50

That's great queen , also in awe of the running . I've been pretty good so far this weekend . Hopefully can continue that tonight .
Will weigh tomorrow .
This thread is really motivating me , that and the thought of having that little bit less cellulite on show in 5 weeks !

houseHuntinginmanchester · 21/06/2015 16:32

I weighed myself. Last week when I weighed myself I was 65.2kg. Today I was 64.5kg.. But both were showing as 10.2 stones.

Can anyone help me figure this out?!

houseHuntinginmanchester · 21/06/2015 16:35

Also, my body fat percentage is 38.5% Shock which is apparently 'poor' (shows on the print out ticket from the boots machine).

So nearly half of my weight is fat?? Wth. Does that mean I have really light bones and muscles? Or is it because I have a slim build?
That can't be a good thing. Confused
I don't know if I'm more concerned about being nearly half fat or having weakling bones...Hmm

PointyBirds · 21/06/2015 16:53

1kg = 2.2lbs, so 65.2kg is actually 143.44lbs, so 10 stone 3lbs, 64.5kg = 141.9lbs, so 10 stone 2lbs. Maybe the machine was approximating both to 10.2 stones, rather than give it in stones and lbs.

PointyBirds · 21/06/2015 16:56

And 38.5 isn't nearly half, it's not even 2/5ths Wink
