Anyone with a stone or so to lose? Fancy buddying up?

I think i would be better if i had someone i didn't want to let down!
hopped on the scales this morning and 10st1lb dead. I was about 9 stone last summer and want to get back down there! Currently struggling to get back below ten i keep stalling (and eating biblical quantities of pitta and hummus and galaxy bars... not at the same time)

I have a beach holiday coming up in 10 weeks so a few pounds gone by then would be great!!
Anyone up for buddying up with a food dairy and telling me off?

Summer is variable as it always is in Scotland for me ! Cloudy with showers not freezing but needed a jacket Arch.
I'm 5 ft 1 inch , I want to get to 8st 4 , I get the face or waist thing . I'm 37 , I don't want to go below that weight .
Dunno if I'll manage to get though . I usually have a great week then the gin / crisps and chocolate come out .

Archduke · 22/06/2015 23:26

Xotic - my parents were in Scotland last week for their holibobs. Said they didn't see the sun for a week but raved about how beautiful it was. My dad spent all his time buying tweed coats by the sound of it.

houseHuntinginmanchester · 23/06/2015 00:46

Arch - it's quite warm in manchester. It was part sunny part cloudy today but no need for a coat really.
It was chucking it down yesterday though!

I've just been doing more online sale shopping. Ordered a leather jacket so far, have a gorgeous pair of black wedges in my basket from moda in pelle and a sweater from
Mint velvet also hovering in the basket. Lord give me strength to resist the temptation Grin

lastqueenofscotland · 23/06/2015 06:57

.4 of a lb down from yesterday :)only a tiny bit but right direction!

Running to work today
Loads of veg and tiny bit of pasta for lunch today
Then a running club coaching session (eeek) then having vegetable curry for dinner mmmm

Worked late last night - but, i avoided the cream buns that had obviously been left in the fridge to tempt me. Smile

Had a smoked salmon sandwich for lunch, and a sausage, bacon, 'smashed potatoes' and veg for dinner (odds and sods dinner!) And a smal piece of lemon meringue pie. Came in at 900, I'll take that.

Didn't have time to weigh this morning as got up late, but will weigh in tomorrow, hope Saturday is but a distant memory to the scales Wink

House, I'm so jealous of your shopping spree - I've got a basket full on boohoo but can't commit. I'm such a ditherer

Weather here in London is a bit shit, bright and not raining but I'm wearing a full on jumper and a scarf! Will probably get nicer later.

TurnOverTheTv · 23/06/2015 08:31

Good morning ladies :-)
10.12 this morning so I've lost the weekend weight!
Plan for today
Bacon & eggs
Lentil goats cheese and beetroot salad
Haddock and veg

Very cloudy in Durham today. I'm off to the garden centre so must stay off the delicious home made scones, which are my favourite treat ever!

GobblersKnob · 23/06/2015 08:35

I could do with joining have been trying to get a stone off for so long, I get a certain way down then just put it back on. Does anyone else have a snacking problem? How do you curb it?

TurnOverTheTv · 23/06/2015 08:38

How many snacks are we talking about? Constant grazing between meals or loads on a night after dinner?

GobblersKnob · 23/06/2015 09:35

Between meals, I think it is emotional eating, I feel a bit crap so reach for snacks. Never eat in the evening, sometimes have oversnacked to the point I don't want dinner, sometimes eat dinner but either way rarely eat anything after 6/7.

My worst bit is around 3/4 when using feel almost panicky hungry, eat crap then regret it, have often thought I should just eat dinner then, it seems to be what my body wants, but then is hard to fit in with family.

houseHuntinginmanchester · 23/06/2015 09:53

Gobblers - I know what you mean about needing dinner around 3/4! Could you cook dinner early and just eat your dinner earlier than everyone else?

GobblersKnob · 23/06/2015 09:56

Maybe I should try it, nearly everyday it occurs to me that it would be a good idea, but it will be impossible or a pita, when on holiday or visiting though, so have always balked at the idea of getting into that routine.

houseHuntinginmanchester · 23/06/2015 10:04

Showgirl - I get these phases where I want to go mad shopping, then don't buy or even look at anything for ages! Unfortunately my mad shopping phase has coincided with house-buying this time, so I am trying being good and leaving most things in the baskets Grin

houseHuntinginmanchester · 23/06/2015 10:18

Gobblers - I sometimes eat earlier, why do you think it would be so hard? I think it's worth giving it a go at least.

GobblersKnob · 23/06/2015 11:07

Yes you're right I will Smile I think it's because I already have a few food issues and have a bit of a reputation amongst family for being odd with eating, so I try to do what is conceived as normal.

MrsNextDoor · 23/06/2015 11:16

Can I join in please? I am 12.5 and 5.6 so offically overweight...apparently I'm meant to be between 9 stone something and 11.3.

So just over a stone to lose. For some reason it feels HARD. I know why I'm OW...it's because I can eat 6 packs of Walkers in one go...and other nights a large bag of Maltesers!

I've cut them out for a whole week...but only weighed myself yesterday...I've also stopped butter and moved to semi skimmed milk...I lovewhite bread though! I cycle about 10 miles a day....sometimes more...and my diet generally is excellent...mostly veggie curries, lean chicken once a week...brown rice, lentils etc...I probably have some cheddar on toast once a week.

Do people think cutting the crisps, sugar and choc will be enough? I don't ever eat cakes and biscuits but the odd pasty...yes...those have gone now.

PointyBirds · 23/06/2015 12:31

Hi Mrs, I think cutting the crisps, sugar and choc would make a big difference. Sounds like you've done cold turkey this week which is great, it's the habit which is the hardest to break.

I weighes myself at the gym this morning - 67.1kg, then.weighed again after my swim just out of curiosity - 66.6kg. I lost half a kg in half an hour's swim! Anyway, taking the second figure as that puts me just under 10 and a half stone! Whoop!

Just finishing a lunch of chicken and salad leaves, and berries with greek yoghurt. Not sure what we'll have tonight.

houseHuntinginmanchester · 23/06/2015 13:53

Welcome mrs - cutting out the crap is the best place to start, I'm doing that too.

Unfortunately it's not that easy to cut out other crap from my life, like my dysfunctional family for one! Not having a good day. Also, We currently live in a two bed flat (2 DC) and it's such a struggle to keep the place clean, tidy and organised. Some days (more often than not), it just really gets me down and I shout at poor dd2 who thinks she's just playing, but almost all of our very limited floor space is covered in toys and books, ConfusedHmm

Aargh. Off to hide in the bath and eat something, anything

MrsNextDoor · 23/06/2015 16:39

Thank you! Pointy that's great!! Under 10 and a half is my dream! house snap...we're in a 2 bed flat....not great is it? :(

TurnOverTheTv · 23/06/2015 19:03

I used to live in a 2 bed flat with 2 with no garden and it was a bloody nightmare sometimes. I really feel for you!
I'm on track for today, but still have 300 cals left so may have rice cakes with peanut butter and sliced banana for supper.
I'm off out for brunch tomorrow so scanning the menu for something not too bad!

houseHuntinginmanchester · 23/06/2015 20:18

Mrs , it isn't but you just have to get on with it don't you. Hmm

Turn - thankfully we have a huge, lawned garden (I always joke that the garden is twice the size of our flat), and the dds were out playing for a good while today. Smile how did you manage to still have 300 calories still left?! Envy I have 100 left and wondering if I should cheer myself up with some popcorn. I've been such a good girl. Wink

TurnOverTheTv · 23/06/2015 20:38

I totally stuck to my eating plan today, so when I eat more protein I eat less cals
Bacon, egg, tomato 174 cal
Goats cheese and lentil salad 271 cal
Seeded haddock with salad/veg and Mayo 390 cal
Mango 100 cal

saturn · 23/06/2015 21:46

Can I join you? This time last week I had 1 stone 2 lb to lose...but all I have done is eat junk for the last two days and I think I've put about a stone on Confused fresh start tomorrow. I have exactly three weeks until I go on holiday and would like to lose 2 lb a week before I go

TurnOverTheTv · 23/06/2015 22:13

You can easily lose half a stone before your hols if you put your mind to it Saturn Smile

lastqueenofscotland · 23/06/2015 22:30

5 mile run this morning
BRUTAL 5 mile club run this evening.

food has been
med veg pasta
a few crisps
pea, paneer and cauliflower curry.

Not super low cal but not willing to sacrifice my running performance for the sake of faster weight loss.

lastqueenofscotland · 23/06/2015 23:10

breakthrough with my curry though, ate about 4/5ths of the actual curry, and a few mouthfuls of rice and then stopped as i was full, I HATE waste, so feel a bit bad but onwards to serving myself up smaller portions and if I'm hungry i can have some fruit or oatcakes or something.
