Anyone with a stone or so to lose? Fancy buddying up?

I think i would be better if i had someone i didn't want to let down!
hopped on the scales this morning and 10st1lb dead. I was about 9 stone last summer and want to get back down there! Currently struggling to get back below ten i keep stalling (and eating biblical quantities of pitta and hummus and galaxy bars... not at the same time)

I have a beach holiday coming up in 10 weeks so a few pounds gone by then would be great!!
Anyone up for buddying up with a food dairy and telling me off?

Oh no, lastqueen, you started this thread and really helped us so much. Umm, dunno what to say, you've been working so hard!! Gah!

Could you combine the running with a bit of weights/toning stuff and watch the carbs? Especially in the evenings? Sorry, hopefully someone more helpful will be along in a sec.

lastqueenofscotland · 18/06/2015 08:31

I really don't see where the extra 2lbs has come from I'm off to Royal Ascot today and I'm not going to let it ruin my day!

It's given me a bit of a kick up the bum. so onwards and upwards i guess!

Just annoyed as id not be surprised if id stayed the same but over 2lbs?!?!

Hello all, not been posting much because lack of laptop means I'm on my phone which is rubbish.

Scales still going the right way this morning. They are very wobbly though so no accurate idea still. Definitely under 11 now though Smile

Yesterday went well, porridge for breakfast, scrambled eggs on toast for lunch and an awesome meal of steak, spinach and sweet potato chips (plus a small amount of cream peppercorn sauce). Being hungry all day sure makes your food taste good!

Porridge again this morning, and I'm going to try Bat's stuffed sweet potato later. And I'm going to a spin class in a bit, my second ever. I tried once before and it hurt so much! But it def got me sweating so worth another go, I'll just take a towel to pad the bike seat Wink

EllaBella1 · 18/06/2015 08:32

Hi ladies can I join you? I have been losing weight for the last year. Start weight 94.3kg and current weight 79.6kg. I did drop to 78kg but went on holiday recently... Ideally I want to lose another stone but I seem to be stuck where I am.

My plan is to gt stricter with food again, mfp and also increase my runs. I'm thinking of weights as well. I haven't tried that before and my flabby arms are driving me to despair!

TiredAssShowgirl · 18/06/2015 09:02

Welcome to the party Ella and lelly! Well done on your loss Ella, that's great!

I'm using the fitness app on my phone, its also a pedometer and exercise log, which is handy.

Almost made myself late for work making lunch today, made a sort of deconstructed sushi with rice, cucumber and fish sticks - not as yum as actually sushi but a damn sight cheaper!

I find i do better on this is i let myself have what i want, but justify it, it stops me being all 'poor me, in on a diet, wahh!' That said, I've been at and around this weight for 10 years trying to get to 8 st so something ain't working!

Queen, sometimes our bodies just like to fuck with us. I know its the dieting version of 'have you turned it off and on again', but are you drinking loads of water? Cos there is a lot of water in food, when you cut down on food, you are losing water and can become mildly dehydrated - leading to water retention. I aim for about 4 litres a day atm (although i do include my coffee in that!)

lastqueenofscotland · 18/06/2015 09:14

Tired thinking about it, I probably don't drink enough and have been looking/feeling a bit bloated recently hmm.

just stepped on the gym scales - 68.3kg, which is about 10st11. I like the gym scales Grin

Archduke · 18/06/2015 09:35

Hi there, can I join too?

I started juicing 10 days ago (weighing 65.4kg - I'm 5'3") - I want to get down to 55kg or thereabouts, I'm 47 so don't want to go any thinner as I'm scared of looking haggard (also terrified that I'll lost all boob and face weight and be left with fat arse and stomach).

I bought one of those NutriBullet thingo's and have had juice for breakfast and lunch, then a normal dinner. Am bloody starving but in 10 days I've lost almost 4kg Grin.

I have a deadline of August 23rd to be sylph like.

Good point about drinking lots of water - good to flush out the system.

Steala · 18/06/2015 10:03

I can be really good during the day but I have no self control in the evenings or at weekends. It is very much a habit rather than hunger, but a difficult one to break.

I weighed in at 10at11 today, which looks like a 5lb loss from Monday but is in fact only a 1lb loss in the past week. See how bad my weekend was last week to gain 4lb!!

Xoticdreamz · 18/06/2015 10:40

Stick at it queen and enjoy ascot .
Hello to the new joiners .
Well got veeeery veeeery drunk last night but stuck to the gin .
Started well munching on pea pods but ended up eating 3 bags of crisps .
Today will be a better day hopefully .

TurnOverTheTv · 18/06/2015 10:46

I'm on my way into London. I fear it's going to get messy. I did have yogurt, berries and oats for breakfast which is a good start. But will have to try and not eat train snacks!

UnderATennerAtTiffanys · 18/06/2015 11:44

Right. Weighed myself - 8st 13.8. body fat 25.2% (this sounds a lot better than it looks on me - currently looks as though all 25% is residing in a splurge over the top of my jeans) waist 28 inches, tummy 34 inches (that's the same as my boobs Shock Sad ) and bum 39 inches. I am very short, with very small hands and feet.

I have had a mental morning, had 2 coffees and no breakfast and then just now a piece of toast with lots of lovely butter on it. I think this is the problem. I don't plan, I get starving and then eat a large pile of carbs and fat - last night for example I came in from work and drank 2 large glasses of wine, ate a piece of birthday cake, a packet of crisps, a piece of toast, half a Terry's chocolate orange and then when I'd got the kids into bed, had a big bowl of pasta with olive oil and cheese. I'm actually mortified writing all that out. I feel like the very hungry caterpillar, if the caterpillar was a single mum with a fondness for red wine.....

I have invested in the Davina 7 minute DVD, inspired by the Grab Your Tuna thread on here and am going to have a go at it now. Hope I don't puke up my toast.... Will report back.

busyboysmum · 18/06/2015 16:18

I've joined slimming world last night inspired by my friend who has lost 7.5 lbs in 2 weeks. Weighed in there last night at 11 stone 8 lbs so will stick to it all week and see what happens. You do seem to be able to eat lots with it so if it works it should be fairly simple.

PointyBirds · 18/06/2015 19:58

Hope trips to London and Ascot have been/are lots of fun.

My thighs are complaining after spin class Grin I had to take loads of extra breaks otherwise I think my legs would have fallen off. But, I got v red faced and sweaty so must have been doin something.

I've had Bat's stuffed sweet potato for dinner and very nice it was too, even though I thought I'd put some paprika in and sprinkled in chilli powder by mistake! It had a nice kick to it... Smile

Back to normal family eating tomorrow as DH is back. I guess it'll be more about portion sizes from now on, and no snacking.

TiredAssShowgirl · 18/06/2015 23:05

Evening ladies! Welcome Arch. How are you finding juicing? Well done busy, SW looks like a good plan, I've toyed with the idea of joining but I know i can't commit to regular meetings. Impressed by the exercise on threaf again today, must start doing something!

Food wise today had been good so far, had yoghurt and fruit, and my sushi thing - but there is a pizza awaiting me at home. I've got space in my calories for some but can see it going over. Might limit tomorrow to allow for it... and this is where the problems start

The weekend is prepped for a mini blowout though, meeting an old friend and going to a concert in Hyde park, lunch will feature -I'm going for 'averaging 1000 cal/day in the week and it will be fine' - I've lost 4 lb this week, and while i know it's not ' real' loss yet, i still don't want to wreck it.

Can I join? I got down to 9st 7 in the last few weeks but a couple of weeks off exercise and I'm back at 9st 10. I am aiming for 9 st. I'm doing MFP, yoga and walking.

pseudonymity · 19/06/2015 01:18

The extra 3lbs is all on the belly.

houseHuntinginmanchester · 19/06/2015 01:26

Hi all , can I join ? Smile

I weighed myself this week and was 10.2; 10 pounds up from my ideal weight which I had reached two years ago shortly after dc2 was born. I'm 5'7 but have a slim frame so my hips can look very muffiny very quickly Hmm
This weight has crept on in the past two years when I've been too busy doing other things, and then all that snacking in the evening with dh... Now when I think about it I just think why ?!
The 7 minute DVD sounds good. Shall have a Google!
We are in the month of ramadhan now and I am fasting so perfect timing to shift the bulge Grin

So impressed with all the exercising! says the one who drives her car to the corner shop Blush

Scales have gone up a lb . Alcohol is not my friend .
Hope everyone has a good day . I'm MFP to the very last calorie today .

lastqueenofscotland · 19/06/2015 07:26

househunting more the merrier

I do not understand bodies!
weighted at 143 this morning without going loo as didn't need to... which makes no sense I had a brilliant time at ascot - we were in hospitality and i barely stopped to breathe i was snaffling so much cheese (wasn't the plan but then after a few glasses bottles are made of glass.... of rose resolve was gone... so was expecting to weigh a tonne feeling bloated and horrid.... and i'm less than the las two days without a loo trip.

I'd do a food diary of yesterday but id lose track by 1pm
cheese and bread and cake en masse and wine. SO much bloody wine.

Brilliant brilliant day and actually looking at the photos this morning i do actually look slim (good dress more than anything!!) so probably shouldn't get so upset about the number on the scale. Will keep on with it though as if i keep having too much of a nice time i will end up the size of a house.

Today is eerm lucozade sport for breakfast....

will have a baked potato for lunch
dinner will either go to my mums or go out with work, if out with work I'm more inclined to be better as they are a healthy bunch so we'll end up somewhere that doesn't do pizza etc.
If I'm at mums it will be stodgy so i just won't have much of it.

Have a wonderful day guys.

Queen - sounds ideal (bread, cheese and cake AND weight loss?!) and I wouldn't question it if I were you Wink

Currently lying in bed with pre- period pains and hot water bottle but no period. When you want your damn period to appear it never does aaaargh!
