Anyone with a stone or so to lose? Fancy buddying up?

I think i would be better if i had someone i didn't want to let down!
hopped on the scales this morning and 10st1lb dead. I was about 9 stone last summer and want to get back down there! Currently struggling to get back below ten i keep stalling (and eating biblical quantities of pitta and hummus and galaxy bars... not at the same time)

I have a beach holiday coming up in 10 weeks so a few pounds gone by then would be great!!
Anyone up for buddying up with a food dairy and telling me off?

Who hoo....

I weighted myself a day early...( I usually just weigh myself in a Friday, the theory is it keeps me motivated over the weekend when I am more likely to eat/drink) as I could feel I was wavering a bit

2.5 lb loss... So I am 9.75... ????

I am well happy, I can wear my fave new dress to a wedding on Saturday now... Next stop 9.5!!

Tryingno1 · 06/08/2015 09:40

Oh well done berry! Don't do what I do which is tell myself well done and then eat more because I think I can!

Weekends r the hardest for me, I find the week quite ok to focus on it. But then going out/alchol/eating out just makes things harder! I'm going to be a quiet one this weekend to get me on track! Ow 4 days being good will be ruined.

Got home made tomato soup for lunch and already wishing I had somethingn else! Must never make it again - I don't like it!

bberry · 06/08/2015 10:13

Try butternut squash soup trying... It's easy and yummy... Especially with fresh baked bread (but not too much!)

MegBusset · 06/08/2015 13:30

Hi everyone and well done on the losses!

It's slowing down for me now, the last few lbs will be hard I know. I was 9st 6.5lb this morning which is good BUT I now have my period so expect to jump back up again over the next couple of days!

Anyway a good few days, yesterday I had Quorn sausage kebabs and rice for dinner, today it'll be baked potato with cottage cheese and salad. I always have porridge for breakfast and some combo of Quorn roll/veg soup/salad for lunch so I won't bore you with it every day unless I have something excitingly different!!

Tryingno1 · 06/08/2015 19:27

so i survived the tomato soup! butternut sounds much better!
i had my dinner - and now I'm hungry still!!! having a glass of milk..and hoping the hunger dies.
hope everyone else behaved!

bberry · 07/08/2015 07:08

Good day yesterday...

1/2 bagel, 2 forks of scrambled egg
V small homemade beef curry & rice
Medium curry & rice
3 squares of white chocolate with a cup of tea??

It was so yummy I had to have it again!

TiredAssShowgirl · 07/08/2015 08:31

Morning all. I feel terrible - disadvantage of being good then going to the pub, is i get very drunk very quickly. My poor head. Gin has more calories than i expect it too also.

Massive quantities of gin aside, yesterday was good, lasagne for lunch, 4 after 8 mints that were hanging around, and a bit of curry when i got home. Declined the cake on offer even in my sorry state, even with the gin was under cals. Back to 9 st 4, hopefully i can survive today enough to at least stay there! Although i do have a lunch so we'll see. Blush

Sorry you didn't like your soup trying, it's so annoying when that happens! Weekends are tough. So much easier to just sit and eat!

Well done on losses Meg and Berry! Berry, can you share that curry recipe? I adore curry!

lastqueenofscotland · 07/08/2015 13:41

Done well this week.... Until someone bought fudge in and I ate industrial quantities

SuperFlyHigh · 07/08/2015 13:56

ok well yesterday had:-

Jordans Oat Granola and serving of Yeo Valley Satrwberry yoghurt
pack of starburst
low fat M&S potato salad almost whole pot but small
7 cherry tomatoes
1 scotch egg (255 cals)

evening - cod fishcake with sauce inside (sainsburys
potato mash with butter 2 handfuls size
broccoli and carrots 1 serving of each
Doritos cheese nachos and tomato salsa dip (half jar, prob half packet)
6 cups of tea, 2 with skimmed milk rest with semi skimmed
1 cup camomile tea
3 glasses of water

Today

Jordans Oat Granola and serving of Yeo Valley Strawberry yoghurt
1 scott egg (255 cals)
potato mash with butter and cheese
kinder chocolate medium bar 119 cals
5 cups of tea - 2 with skimmed milk rest with semi skimmed
1 glass of water
bachelors minestrone cup soup - i think 89 cals

I need to get back to salads again - when I had salads for lunch with left over rice/pasta etc they were my good days and I had Ryvita minis for extra calories. i even had Baby Bel Light or Marmite cheeses (minis) as snacks.

SuperFlyHigh · 07/08/2015 13:57

Meg - do you find before or on your period you go mad for carbs?

MegBusset · 07/08/2015 14:50

Yes carbs and sugar and wine. Even if I'm good and don't eat extra I still get bloated and put on a lb or two.

The worst thing is that my cycle seems to be getting shorter as I head towards my 40s, I thought I would have fewer periods, not more Angry

bberry · 07/08/2015 15:49

Tired ass.... It's the Jamie Oliver madras recipe (online) I added more chilli, garam masala and cumin as I like it spicy... It was left over beef from the roast on Sunday and was incredibly soft yesterday after a day in the fridge!!! Really really easy.....

bberry · 07/08/2015 15:51

Tired ass.... Well done for 9" 4" btw....

I have just had 1/2 ham sandwich and resisted cookies at lunch, had friends over for play, date so am all set for dinner out tonight and a few drinks Smile

Does white wine have the fewest calories or is it vodka???

Tryingno1 · 07/08/2015 17:23

well done guys on ur healthy eating and bury for not having cookies! Its vodka...but i hate it so would rather have less wine for same calories!

tired thats amazing you stayed of the cake despite the gin and still under calories! i CANNOT do that, once i go over a certain no of units i want to EAT EVERYTHING and my diet doesn't matter, then the next day i feel guilty! u have amazing willpower......

I'm having a SUPER HUNGRY day! so irritable! just drank loads of water and had a tangerine, not sure that will keep me going for that long!

all be good at the weekends!

bberry · 07/08/2015 18:07

Thanks.... I will do wine and soda or vodka and soda if they have fresh lime to put in it.... Plus a grilled fish & veg dinner of some description...

Planning is key!

Wedding tomorrow..... That's an off day for me... Going to gorge ????

KillashandraRee · 07/08/2015 23:23

I just ate half a cow at an impromptu bbq....washed down with a gallon of fizz Shock

I can't even contemplate counting calories I've just quick added 1000 and am prepped for a weight gain!

bberry · 08/08/2015 00:38

5 wines, beetroot and goats cheese salad (left 33% of cheese) plaice, asparagus and rice

I am so hungry... Straight to bed and enjoy the wedding and gorge tomorrow Smile

PointyBirds · 08/08/2015 10:05

I have made it through the holiday unscathed - 10st on the dot still. Very relieved. I'm glad to have been able to relax a bit and not go crazy. A nice trial run for when I get to my final goal and want to maintain. Half a stone to go, best crack on with it :)

Tryingno1 · 08/08/2015 10:35

Well done pointy! That's great!
Im must keep the Motivation and not open a bottle of wine in the sun!

bberry · 08/08/2015 10:57

Well done pointy.... ????

SuperFlyHigh · 08/08/2015 11:05

well I buggered things up last night, had:-

fishcake with sauce inside, mash potato with butter and broccoli and carrots
5 G&Ts in pub
remainder of doritos salsa and corn chips
2 x vogel toast with nutella
3 large cups of tea with skimmed milk
2 x rich tea lights

I'm out for brunch soon and then this afternoon at a latin american festival so probably will pig out then both food and drink wise. Sunday I will be good!

MegBusset · 08/08/2015 18:06

9st 4.5lb this morning. That's the lightest I've been for well over a year! Still expecting to go up a bit especially as I have my parents coming this week and we're having a takeaway curry plus I'm sneaking out one night for a pub meal with DH. But it's great to see the gradual downward trend :)

Does anyone know what the healthiest option is in a takeaway curry? I'm vegetarian and normally have a veg balti with plain rice and tarka dhal but always end up putting on a lb or two overnight...

PointyBirds · 08/08/2015 19:37

Well done Meg, you're doing great :) I've no idea what the healthiest curry would be, your usual sounds pretty good though. Perhaps have what you normally have but smaller portion sizes? I remember watching a program about the diet industry and they pointed out that when various products come with "30% less fat!" etc blazoned all over them, they are usually just 30% smaller than the standard product that company makes. Which is all a swizz, obviously, but if you have a 30% (or whatever %) smaller amount of curry, that's an easy 30% of calories saved.

(Somehow that reads like, "look at all this stuff I bought in the sales! I've saved sooooo much money!" Wink)

bberry · 08/08/2015 23:40

Well done Meg, that's great...I would think a tomato based rather than cream based curry would be best, but yes, if you just reduce your portion size you are already on the right track

Wedding day.... Too many vodkas to count, Curry at the buffet, more drinks and 1/2 a gorgeous ham sandwich from room service with crisps!!!

I am also about to polish off the 2 packs of biscuits with a cup of tea....

Back to the dieting grindstone tomorrow ????

Archduke · 09/08/2015 08:09

Hi everyone!

How the blazes are you all? Well done on the losses - thumbs up to you Meg - and hello to new people, good to see you here.

I've had a mad week of dh working away in Sydney, then us all off to Melbourne for a long weekend and tomorrow I'm flying off to Canberra for work for 2 days (NB we aren't usually so exotic we never go anywhere - it's all been a mad couple of weeks, oh also the kids have been horribly ill (just colds but still, yuk). No surprise that the diet has turned to shit.

I need to get back on the green juices. ASAP.

I think Champers has the least cals? Then vodka lime and soda and then white wine, then Baileys Grin.
