Anyone with a stone or so to lose? Fancy buddying up?

I think i would be better if i had someone i didn't want to let down!
hopped on the scales this morning and 10st1lb dead. I was about 9 stone last summer and want to get back down there! Currently struggling to get back below ten i keep stalling (and eating biblical quantities of pitta and hummus and galaxy bars... not at the same time)

I have a beach holiday coming up in 10 weeks so a few pounds gone by then would be great!!
Anyone up for buddying up with a food dairy and telling me off?

Being still full from the day before's big meal has been a bit of a revelation to me from all of this. Thinking, what does my body need today? Rather than, wake up, new day, normal breakfast, snacks, lunch etc. Being properly hungry before eating, instead of eating because it's lunchtime, or some other habit eating.

I hope I can stick with it once I relax a bit. That and keep away from the sugar highs and crashes that made me attack a packet of biscuits because I was so damn hungry only a couple of hours after lunch.

Xoticdreamz · 28/07/2015 13:02

Going on holiday on thur , have managed to get to 8 stone 8 lb .
4 away from target with two days to go lol .
I've done okay anyway . Fairly pleased . Hopefully I won't undo all the good work when I'm away .

MegBusset · 28/07/2015 14:29

9st 7.75lb this morning. Got up and Shredded before breakfast, my favourite time to exercise but not possible during term time unless I get up at 6am (never gonna happen!)

Found myself in a pub carvery at lunchtime with very limited vegetarian options but saved the day by having soup with salad (and ignoring the half a baguette on the side).

Dinner will be baked potato with tuna and salad, I think. Back to work tomorrow...

Long time no post my weight hasn't budged but my clothes are looser and I look slimmer, aren't bodies weird!

Hi gang, good to see you steady losers (and I mean that in the nicest possible way Grin).

I feel like I'm on the verge of giving up and eating everything in sight. My juices are less and less appealing.

I need to weigh myself again but can't face it as I know I've gone up.

Some one kick me up the arse please.

I'm feeling good as I'm currently wearing a shirt that I have only ever been able to wear when I'm slim (for me), and it fits comfortably :) My scales were a touch over 10st this morning, so so close!

MegBusset · 29/07/2015 20:46

Pointy makes a very good point! Moving on from juicing doesn't mean you have to fall face first into the biscuit tin, just try a different approach for a while.

Not too bad today:
Porridge
Quorn roll, soup and salad
Pesto pasta with loads of veg, no garlic bread but I have had a large glass of wine :)

Still 9st 7.75lb this morning, managed to Shred before work.

TiredAssShowgirl · 30/07/2015 08:00

Morning all! Hope everyone is well :)

Well done on your shredding Meg - is it as painful as everyone says? I am tempted to start it, but space is v limited at home - does one jump around a lot?

Yay on the shirt Pointy - soooo satisfying Grin Happy holiday Xotic, just enjoy yourself!

Queen, if stuff is looser that's what matters - weight is just an easily measurable proxy!

Arch, you don't need a kick! You've done really well sticking to the juices - hell, even my insanely obsessive best friend only kept it up for 5 weeks after spending about 400 quid on juicers! Why not just have a juice for breakfast rather than lunch as well and wean yourself back into 'normal' food - and if it's only one it can be a more fun one with less kale etc Wink

Was at 9st 5 yesterday and today - so lost most of the weight put on last week, butbyeabut yesterday scuppered catching it all!

Fell off the wagon slightly - 5 meeting biscuits Blush even my pregnant boss only ate 3 then 4 mini cupcakes after dinner (which was moussaka so not exactly diet friendly!)

I need to be more disciplined. I'll be fine for a few days then gorge and as a result, have not really accelerated any loss! I'm 3 lb above this week's target - new mini target is not be more than 3 lb above next weeks - which means lose 2 before Mon. Deficit 7000 cals - miiight just be doable.

EllaBella1 · 30/07/2015 08:26

Hi ladies! So weight is down to 77.5 kg. starting weight 12 months ago was 94.3kg. I think it will probably be another 9months or so before I hit the 67ish kg goal! Feeling really motivated. Starting taking measurements as my shape is changing while I'm finding the weight loss slows but My clothes are loose.

Well done on all the losers ????????

To those going up or not moving.... Don't give up hope!! Just keep at it and you will start to lose again. My longest plateau was 3 weeks!!

MegBusset · 30/07/2015 21:27

I find the Shred pretty straightforward and not too painful, but I've been doing it off and on for years, it was harder when I started! You don't need too much space, if you can clear enough space to do a plank you should be fine :)

Pretty good today:
Porridge
Quorn roll, veg soup and salad
Baked beans with veggie sausages on toast (lazy tea as I was working then had to get the kids from holiday club)
Apple and banana
Shred before tea

9st 7.25lb this morning

bberry · 30/07/2015 21:36

Ooh, can I join... Indeed to lose 10/14 lbs... I'll weigh myself in the morning and check in... I think I am about 10st...

Anyone else just starting?

bberry · 31/07/2015 08:29

Blimey... I am 9'10' so would like to lose 7-10 lbs....

2 bites of toast and banana and a coffee for breakfast...

DrexelG · 31/07/2015 13:11

Hi girls, hope that you are all okay? So I have all but given up on the plan I was following. Too much meat! There are still parts that I'm doing like the drinking the 1 ltr of water a day and also cutting down on carbs just not following it to the latter. So today I have treated myself to a nutribullet! Been after one for ages. Hoping that the kids like it. Will probably have one for breakfast and see how I get on. Does anyone else have one? Are they nice the juices? What are the best ones to have?

MegBusset · 31/07/2015 17:22

Hi Bberry, a 4lb loss before you've even started, that's great Grin

I'm not really much of a juicer, prefer to eat my calories rather than drink them (apart from wine lol) but I have friends who swear by the Nutribullet.

9st 6.75lb this morning so just squeaked back to where I was before last week's overindulgence. Today:
Porridge
Quorn sandwich with homemade bread, yum
Mini milk and banana
Salmon, veg and rice for dinner. Probably some wine as it's Friday!

Shredded this morning and been out and about with the kids all day.

bberry · 31/07/2015 18:47

Yes, I know... I was very surprised, got on the scales hoping for 9'13'

Couple of bites of toast and banana & tea
1/2 ham sandwich and a few Pom bears
Small portion mince/carrots/onions/pots
1/2 a mint aero

Definitely a couple of wines tonight as Mr b out!

Quite a good day!

PointyBirds · 01/08/2015 16:07

Hi bberry, how are you getting along today?

Right, I'm setting myself a new goal. I've decided I'm too close to 10st and getting lazy and can't get myself over the line. So I'm officially aiming for 9 and a half, and when I get there I'll have a splurge on some new clothes, because I haven't bought anything new for ages, and my jeans will probably be a bit baggy by then - hopefully anyway! Looking forward to not hating the changing room experience :)

bberry · 01/08/2015 17:29

Hey pointy, great thanks

1/2 bagel and 2 coffees
Salmon/ham salad 1/2 packet of crisps
1/2 crusty baguette!

Dinner .... BBQ on now.... I will just have steak and salad

????

aghjmyrtle · 02/08/2015 07:29

. I would like to join you as I have a stone and a half to lose and just can't get motivated. I begin the day with all of the best intentions but by evening time my willpower begins to fade and I start snacking. I have tried so many different diets but have never managed to keep the weight off. I know I have to change my eating habits but it seems so difficult. How do you resist temptation?

PointyBirds · 02/08/2015 11:02

I have no idea agh. I'd been my previous weight for ages, wanting to lose weight and going to the gym but getting nowhere. I knew I ate too much crap and, like you, started each day with good intentions (mid-afternoon was always my danger-time though, not the evening). But one day, I'd had enough. I was fed up of feeling rubbish, knowing what I needed to do about it but not doing it. I also was diagnosed as anaemic so was paying more attention to what I was eating anyway, to try to boost my iron intake.

So, it just happened. I posted on here, which I think helped, but mostly a switch flipped in my head and I just did it. I spent a lot of time very hungry for the first week or so, but things seem to have recalibrated now and it doesn't seem so impossible to get from lunch to dinner without eating half a packet of biscuits along the way.

Talking of which. 63.6kg at the gym this morning, 10st dead on, whoop! That's a stone lost, sort of, depending on whether you take my wobbly scales measurements when I started.

I'm off on holiday tomorrow, and it's going to be great around the pool feeling good in my swimming costume. I will also be taking a bikini but I don't think it's going to be bikini weather on the beach in Wales next week! Oh well.

Onwards and downwards after the holiday though, I'm going to get to 9 and a half and get myself a new wardrobe Grin

aghjmyrtle · 02/08/2015 15:02

Well done PointyBirds, that's fantastic. Can I ask how long it has taken you to lose 1 stone? I hope that once I start losing and I can feel a difference in my clothes, I will be more motivated. I want to be about 8 stone 7 lbs. I am only 5 foot 2 with very short legs!! I weighed myself again this am, I am 9 stone 9lbs so I have my work cut out. I hope you have a fantastic time in Wales and enjoy wearing your bikini..of course it won't be too cold!

PointyBirds · 02/08/2015 16:12

Well, I first posted on here on 14th June, so 7 weeks ago today. Which gives an average 2lbs per week loss, but I don't think it's been that steady, some weeks more, some weeks none at all.

I also don't think I was really 11st when I started. I was according to my very inaccurate scales, but when I first went on the scales at the gym on 18th June I was 10st11. I probably lost something in the first 4 days, but not sure I lost 3lbs that quickly! So maybe a 12/13lb loss in 7 weeks. Anyway, I'm at 10st, which was my original goal, so I'm happy.

aghjmyrtle · 02/08/2015 21:09

So you should be PointyBirds. I would like to know how you have done it , please forgive me if you have already posted this information. A loss of 1 stone in 7 weeks is amazing. You have obviously found the solution to avoiding temptation. Did you keep a food diary? W.W. encourages tracking which helped me in the past to realise how much I was eating on the hoof ! It is just a difficult habit to get into but if it yields results, must be worth it. How has everyone managed to remain motivated ?

PointyBirds · 02/08/2015 21:36

Sorry aghj, I haven't done it any particular way. In the past I've done WW (10 years ago) and used MFP (more recently), both of which have helped with learning about how much/what type of food I need to be eating. But this time round I mostly just stuck with the Eat Less Move More theory. That and the thought that to lose fat you need to be hungry sometimes, because it's only then that your body will use your fat stores. So, I got used to being hungry without panicking about eating immediately, made sure the food I ate was going to keep me going for longer, porridge instead of toast for breakfast, that kind of thing. Sometimes if I wanted a biscuit I stayed strong and waited for the impulse to pass, and sometimes I had a biscuit, but made sure it was just one or two, instead of 5 or 6.

And if I had a bad day I forgave myself and did better the next day instead of giving up on the whole idea.

But mostly, I have no idea why it worked this time, when plenty of other times it hasn't. Like I said, a switch just flipped and I had the motivation. I really hope I can keep it going to lose a smidge more, and keep it off once I'm at a steady weight.

bberry · 03/08/2015 07:29

Bad day yesterday as it was dd2's birthday, but I did resist more than one small bit of cake so had some small control! Going to have a great day today to make amends...

Croissant with jam and butter
Roast beef lunch with 2 Yorkshire's and a small piece of chocolate cake
Chicken filo pie with peas and cauliflower cheese... I resisted more cake
About 5/6 glasses of wine

Oh dear... It's actually worse than I thought.... Salad today me thinks!!!
