Anyone with a stone or so to lose? Fancy buddying up?

I think i would be better if i had someone i didn't want to let down!
hopped on the scales this morning and 10st1lb dead. I was about 9 stone last summer and want to get back down there! Currently struggling to get back below ten i keep stalling (and eating biblical quantities of pitta and hummus and galaxy bars... not at the same time)

I have a beach holiday coming up in 10 weeks so a few pounds gone by then would be great!!
Anyone up for buddying up with a food dairy and telling me off?

Aww tiredass , hopefully it will come off quick , the extra salt or something ?
I'm just on my way back from Blackpool , have eaten full English , chips burgers and lots of wine .
Not weighing till Sunday !
Hopefully I can still make my target for the 30 th !

Mediumred · 11/07/2015 14:12

Ooh nooo! TiredAss! That just sounds really weird, time of the month? Er, been to the loo? So annoying when there's not even something you can say 'oh, yeah, that was why I put weight on'. Sure it's just a blip!

Ooh, sounds like you had great time in Blackpool, Xotic, mmmm full English, now I'm drooling!

I weighed in. I'm 9 stone 9 so two and a half pounds down on the week. I hadn't managed to fit so much exercise in this week and had been a bit slack on the old wine front but been quite disciplined food-wise!

Just have to try to keep it up this week - I have picnics today and tomorrow, a night out on Wednesday and a mate coming over on Tuesday!!! All v booze-ahoy haha!

Good luck everyone and have a nice weekend.

lastqueenofscotland · 11/07/2015 21:09

I think I've ended up with sunstroke/heat exhaustion from my run did 13 instead of 16 as felt so bloody dreadful.

On the plus side I'm down to 9st 11! Done well this week :)

Well done Lastqueen, banging and Mediumred. TiredAss that's such a bummer. Hate it when the weight piles on completely inexplicably. Never happens the other way does it Angry.

I'm going ok, still can't bear to weigh myself since my sub 60kgs triumph. Going out for dinner today (Sunday) so will try to make good choices.

Just read an interesting article by Jeanette Winterson in The Guardian here. She fasted for 11 days and apart from what sounds like a grim first 3 days she raves about feeling terrific health benefits. I'd kind of like to try it but only like she did at a VERY expensive retreat rather than at home feeing miserable and yelling at everyone.

In other NSV news I seem to be saving heaps of money by not buying delicious coffees from smart little coffee shops, my wine consumption is waaaay down and I no longer support the local sushi industry with work lunch purchases. Honestly I'm amazed the Australian coffee and wine industry hasn't shut down.

We've been having a cold blast here in Oz the last couple of days, it's hilarious, newsreaders warning us to keep an eye on our elderly relatives as the temperature will drop BELOW 12 DEGREES! Grin.

Happy Sunday everyone, keep on going - you're worth it

KillashandraRee · 12/07/2015 03:40

Tiredass I'm sure that must be water or something similar I'm sure it will come off.
I had no idea how many calories you have to overeat to put on a lb that's made me Shock I must have done some serious troffing to be where I am!!!

Took the test and I'm like someone from Boznia Herzegovina so I feel a bit Eurovision. Went to a bbq tonight and tried to be good but the rose wine went down a bit too well. I was so surprised how much the bbq cost me in calories as I avoided potatoes had only had lots of meat and a bit of salad and coleslaw and no pudding and I'm still about 600 calories over my target.

Have a birthday party bbq tomorrow so will try to do better probably avoid sausages...

lastqueenofscotland · 12/07/2015 12:46

Today is already a write off but i've lost 3lbs in less than a week and didn't touch anything after my run yesterday as felt so awful so i think that's that kicking in now!

Hello all, just checking in. I haven't been to the gym this weekend so I don't have an accurate weight, but my scales at home are wobbling around 10st5. I've had a slightly dodgy couple of days, but did do Shred this morning when I had to turn back from going to the gym because the roads were closed. That's a fairly remarkable commitment to exercise for me Grin

Well done on the 3lbs loss lastqueen :)

MegBusset · 12/07/2015 20:25

Hi all :) I went for a child-free night away with dH last night (nothing glamorous- just to our caravan). We went out for dinner but I stopped at two glasses of wine and just had one course - parmesan breaded plaice with crushed new potatoes and slow roasted tomatoes, since you asked Wink so I don't feel too bad. Especially as we did a five-mile walk to get to the restaurant and back!

Not weighed today but have totm so expect that to add a lb or two. Anyway been pretty good today:
Breakfast croissant (just one, no butter or jam!)
Lunch Quorn roll and salad
Snack apple and oat cakes
Dinner Quorn cottage pie and veg

Will Shred later when my dinner's gone down!

Xoticdreamz · 12/07/2015 20:57

I'm still too scared to stand on the scales !

Xoticdreamz · 13/07/2015 06:58

8lb 12 ... Shit
I've put on 4 lb . Fingers crossed for a very good week of loses .
Well done queen and everyone else doing brilliantly .
I will have to tape my mouth up for the next few days !

TiredAssShowgirl · 13/07/2015 08:45

Oh no Xotic, I'm sorry! I'm sticking with 'Comes on quick, comes off quick'

Well done Queen, Medium, Meg and Bang. Pointy, guuurl you need new, functional scales all of your very own!

Good god, Arch, how WILL you all survive in the freezing depths of 12 degrees Wink

Thanks for the sympathy guys, big girl pants are on, dealing is happening my god i was sulking most of the weekend what am i, 8?! ! 9st 9 today, yesterday wasn't great, did some baking and then some eating Blush

Still uncomfortably full from yesterday though - i think what i need to consume is falling which can only be a good thing.

Here's to a good week with lots of losses for all Brew

EllaBella1 · 13/07/2015 08:51

Morning all!! So that's another 1kg off. Phew it's been a tough one. I'm hoping the next kg isn't as bad!

Does anyone else weight loss in kg? I find it more positive than Lbs for some reason Hmm

Anyway plan for this week is running tonight. It's 10k Monday!

Archduke · 13/07/2015 10:18

Hi all, I still can't bear to weigh myself - I have been fairly 'good' ie still following my mad rules of breakfast/lunch green juice then normal dinner. But last night we went to the pub with some friends and I chowed down on a pulled pork burger and chips + 3 glasses of Riesling. LUSH.

My skirt is feeling tight today, so have done the juice thing and am about to eat dinner of Roast potatoes, chicken wings and veg. I'll have mostly veg and let the rest of the family stuff themselves.

Ella I do kgs, then I have to convert them to stones to figure out what I'm actually aiming for. Well done on 1 kg down, and on the 10ks!

TiredAss and Xotic, I'm sure all will be fine, a small (albeit) depressing increase is easily lost.

Happy Monday everyone.

EllaBella1 · 13/07/2015 17:53

I count in kg then work out in lbs! I think it's cause I like the kg being groups of 10s as opposed to 14 for lbs. weird eh!! Feels like I'm getting somewhere quicker !

MegBusset · 13/07/2015 20:18

I can't work in kilos at all, I have no idea what it's equivalent to!

9st 6lb this morning. Still feel bloated thanks to totm.
Breakfast porridge
Lunch Quorn roll and sweetcorn chowder
Dinner pasta with veg and pesto
Snack oatcakes

lastqueenofscotland · 13/07/2015 20:54

Hi all

No running but walked about 8 miles today!

Jacket potato and beans
Veggie filo parcel and greens for dinner

Archduke · 13/07/2015 23:19

Meg, 1kg = 2.2 lbs

It's the standard measure over here. I've sort of got my head around it ie I think I want to be 55kgs and I'm currently 59.8 (Just weighed myself, am down 100gms) after a high of 65.5 at the beginning of this caper.

Am taking one of my daughters with me to work today, last week I had both of them and it nearly sent me insane (winter school holidays here) so prayers please people Grin.

Archduke · 13/07/2015 23:23

Meg - you are 57.1kgs

I'm 9st 4lbs and am hoping to be 8st 7lbs (55kg) although that sounds quite light . . .

MegBusset · 13/07/2015 23:25

Ah ok. So it takes longer to lose a kilo than a pound. Think I'll stick with pounds Grin

KillashandraRee · 14/07/2015 06:53

I can't work in kg at all although I prefer the sound of them.

Just weighed in after my first week and down from 10st 8.5lbs to 10st 4.75lbs so pretty pleased with that (just got to keep it going). 2.75lbs and I'll be within my Healthy BMI and which is my first goal. Then to be under 10st then 9.5 etc. I find it so much easier to break it into smaller chunks rather than looking at the whole thing.

PointyBirds · 14/07/2015 11:09

I like kg, but 10 stone is much more of a pleasing goal than 63.5kg.

I had a breakthrough with my wobbly scales - I put them on the bathroom floor instead of the carpet in the bedroom and not only were they significantly less wobbly, I also instantly lost about 3lbs! Now if I can remember to put my glasses on so I'm not squinting at the gradations I'll be sorted...

Anyway, I think I'm about 10st3lbs :)

DrexelG · 14/07/2015 15:18

Hi everyone, sorry I have been a bit quiet. I unfortunately got a touch of food poisoning yesterday and spent much of the afternoon and night quite ill. I never get sick, in 12 years my hubby has heard me puke 3 times. I hate feeling like this especially with a 3 yr old to run around after. So after being ill and not eating today just sips of water and herbal tea I have lost 4lbs. I'm hoping that this will be the kick start I need and I can keep it off!
I'm meant to be going away at the weekend for a hen do but for the moment all I want is my bed lol.
Hope that you are all well?

MegBusset · 14/07/2015 17:48

Killa that's a great start!

Drexel eww, poor you, hope it passes quickly!

Well I had a mystery overnight weight gain of 1.5lb Hmm, thanks a lot, period!
Weight 9st 7.5lb
Breakfast porridge
Lunch soft cheese roll, sweet corn chowder
Dinner will be jacket potato, cottage cheese and salad, and Shredding later.

Mediumred · 14/07/2015 19:17

Meg, you are so disciplined, don't worry about the rogue 1.5lb. Just totm!
Yes, well done killa, that's grand, and pointy, I'm loving the new location for the scales!

Oh nooo, Drexel, poor you, really hope you'll be better for the hen do!! It's a few days off yet, fingers crossed, how you feeling this evening?

I'm in my normal pattern of bad weekend, good week, although a friend is popping round later and I've got a bottle of prosecco chilling! Could be bad during the week too! Arghhhh. Been good all day

No breakfast
Lunch chicken salad
Dinner lentil soup
(Er, cheeky handful of jelly beans too!)

No gym but cycled to and from work and stood up to take on the hills.

Also got some dips, nibbles in for friend but hoping to just lightly graze!

lastqueenofscotland · 14/07/2015 22:40

Get well soon Drexel!

Hope everyones going strong! i've picked more than eaten today so lost track a bit. BAD did go to run club though
