Anyone with a stone or so to lose? Fancy buddying up?

I think i would be better if i had someone i didn't want to let down!
hopped on the scales this morning and 10st1lb dead. I was about 9 stone last summer and want to get back down there! Currently struggling to get back below ten i keep stalling (and eating biblical quantities of pitta and hummus and galaxy bars... not at the same time)

I have a beach holiday coming up in 10 weeks so a few pounds gone by then would be great!!
Anyone up for buddying up with a food dairy and telling me off?

Lastqueen I'm exhausted after your 15 miles yesterday! Nice of you to do all our exercise for us though Grin.

Well done Meg and Canyou v v good work from both of you.

Pointy, I totally get being bored of dieting. How did you go for the rest of the day? I'm one month in TODAY and have lost 5kg overall. I lost loads early on in the first 2 weeks and then it's really slowed down a lot. Not sure if my green juices are actually calorie laden sugar fests - I've gradually started putting in more and more fruit and less and less veggies. May need to re-think.

I did manage to resist chocolate dipped Oreos and Tim Tams at work yesterday so am feeling good about that.

I've also been noseying around the losing 4 stone thread - some incredible women on there, one of the things they are talking about is recording non-scale victories - NSV's.

Anyway how about it? Keep us all motivated.

My NSV is feeling well. Honestly before this I felt slightly ill ALL the time, tired, grumpy, lacking in energy, sort of feeling crap about myself ALL the time. Now I just feel well, healthy and with more energy to cope with work/kids/life/blah blah blah.

(Also I can fit into a size 10 skirt HUZZAAAAAAAHHHHH)

TiredAssShowgirl · 06/07/2015 23:14

Queen, if I'd run 15 miles I'd not be tired the day after, I'd be a dead ass showgirl! I thiiiink you have a pass for today!

Done alright today, daal and pakora for lunch, cheeky glass of prosecco at work, sausages, rice and veg for dinner and a slice of cake with Don't Tell the Bride.

Not stellar but in calories by the skin of my teeth!

NSV is a nice concept Arch! My NSV today was people commenting how thin my legs look - they are disproportionatly thinner than the rest of me, but still, nice to hear Wink and new comments so something must have changed. Wish it was as nice as yours but today I feel like the devil's grumpier sister! Tomorrow is a new day.

PointyBirds · 07/07/2015 07:15

The rest of the day wasn't great Archduke, biscuits were consumed Blush.

My problem is I've lost half a stone and I'm now comfortable at 10 and a half stone. It's where I always end up, until it starts creeping up again. Motivation has dipped. But I know I'd really like to be under 10. I've only been there once or twice in my adult life and it felt great.

My NSV is a swimming costume I ordered a few weeks ago that prompted all this. I'd ordered two, a 14 in one style and a 12 in another, because they were on sale and those were the only sizes available. I tried on the 12 and could only just stretch it over my hips/bum and it felt like I was wearing a corset when it was on. I didn't send it back because I liked the style and decided it would a good goal to worked towards. Now I can get it on fine (with a bit of a wiggle) and it feels comfortable on, woohoo :) Next step would be to get it on without the wiggle, so I can get changed in the gym changing room without doing a selfconscious squirm Wink

It's great that you're feeling well. It's so hard to remember when you're stuck in a eating rubbish, feeling rubbish, eating more rubbish cycle, that vegetables actually make you feel better, or is that just me?

PointyBirds · 07/07/2015 07:22

TiredAssShowgirl - I gave up thin legs as a goal many years ago. Even at my slimmest I have calves to make bodybuilders jealous. Some serious muscle mass down there Grin Oh to be longlimbed and willowy...

Archduke · 07/07/2015 07:58

Has anyone seen That Sugar Film? My friend has been raving about it - her children watched it with her and have been demanding less sweets freaks. Will try and watch it this weekend if I can download a copy. It might be the motivation I need to get me to stop craving chocolate.

mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm choc-o-late

Pointy DO NOT GET COMPLACENT, 10.7 stone is marvelous but how about being in the nines and totally rocking that swimsuit without the wriggle. eh? Are you with me?? Let me hear you say YEAH!

Sorry, it's 4.30pm here and the kids have been at work with me all day, one of them has a Furby and I have lost my mind.

Well done on the swimsuit NSV - it's really excellent progress.

lastqueenofscotland · 07/07/2015 08:55

Well done all! Keep going. Nsv sound a really good idea, mine is that i can run 15 miles?!

I'm with you Archduke! YEAH! Grin

And I don't even have a Furby to blame...

Thank you though, it's what I need. 66.2kg at the gym this morning, which is about 10st6, so not too much damage done (the gym scales are always on the lighter side than my ones at home).

Being able to run 15miles is one hell of a victory lastqueen. I can't remember from the thread, are you training for something or just pushing your training for its own sake?

Welcome BangingtheDrums, stick with us and you'll do great :) I seem to put extra weight on my tummy more easily since having children. It didn't used to be a problem area before - it all used to go on my bum!

TurnOverTheTv · 07/07/2015 12:50

Failing miserably today. I've had my meds changed and I'm knackered. Caramel nibbles till I get back on track!

PointyBirds · 07/07/2015 14:02

Sorry to hear that Turn. How long do you think it will take to adjust to the new meds? Hope you feel better soon.

TurnOverTheTv · 07/07/2015 15:56

Hopefully a few more days and I should be back to normal. I slept for 13 hours straight on Sunday night Shock

Canyouforgiveher · 07/07/2015 18:18

Bad day yesterday but not completely awful. I still exercised but went to new supermarket (oh the excitement of my life) that carried a good range of UK chocolate (am in US) and couldn't resist a chocolate jaffa bar. Ate half of it then a small slice of a fab thing called a naan pizza. then had take-out for dinner (buffalo chicken and salad but still).

Went to gym first thing today and did uphill walking and have been eating ok so far. Hoping to do some weights in the afternoon depending on how work goes.

good luck everyone!

MegBusset · 07/07/2015 18:36

Hi Bangingthedrum :)

I find since having the kids/entering my mid 30s that any weight I put on goes straight on my tummy and hips. But if I lose weight the first place it comes off is my boobs :( I used to be an hourglass shape but am becoming more and more pear-like as I get older!

MegBusset · 07/07/2015 18:37

My NSV is my skin, it's been generally awful since having DS2 (thanks hormonal upheaval) and will never be fantastic but definitely benefits from less sugar and alcohol!

Hi everyone!
Did my run home.
Had veggie paella for dinner and had seconds, but cause I was genuinely still hungry NOT cause it was there. And only had another 3/4 mouthfuls as opposed to the whole extra portion I would have once had

Weight this morning: 9st 8lb still

Breakfast: porridge
Lunch: veg soup, granary sandwich with veg pate
Snack: banana
Dinner: Spanish omelette, new potatoes, salad. Had to leave some of my omelette and potatoes as I was so full - that never happens! Tummy must be shrinking a bit! though still looks plenty wobbly to me

MegBusset · 07/07/2015 22:40

Lastqueen veggie paella sounds nice, do you have a recipe?

KillashandraRee · 08/07/2015 05:46

Meg that describes my shape now too...very depressing my boobs used to be my best bit!

Day 3 of my diet and I weighed in at 10st 6 this morning 2lbs lighter than Monday morning but I'm aware a lot of that could be water.

Made a nice sauté chicken leek and apple dish last night and added quinoa and spinach. Confused

I'm a bit worried about today as kids have had me up since four am and I snack on sweet things when I'm tired. Need to do some exercise to try and balance out any treats I sneak in today.

Have a good day everyone Smile

KillashandraRee · 08/07/2015 05:47

Ha not sure how that face got added after my dinner, it was quite yummy actually!

lastqueenofscotland · 08/07/2015 07:18

Meg it's a tescos recepie I'll dig it up when Internet want to play ball.

Big day for me.... I'm in the 9s!!! 9 13 but even so very happy. Haven't been in the nines since last summer.
All thanks to you guys as I would have thrown in the towel after that bad first week normally

Morning ladies! How's things. Weight hasn't changed in the last week but I'm sure it will drop Confused soon! I have been doing lots of running as I have my half marathon coming up and also doing upper body weights. I just do 20 mins a night on that. I doubt I have gained muscle yet though! I can only do 1.5kg in each arm Blush

Anyway tonight is a night off running as my poor calf needs a rest!

Well done with the losses! Hoping I can post mine in a few days!!

Also veggie paella sounds good!!

Ooh!!! Well done, lastqueen, that's grand!!! You've done amazingly well. And, killa, that sounds like a great start. Sure your scales will be showing good news too, Ella, so impressed with these runners!

I missed my HIIT class today, I went out last night and then overslept, just determined not to do my normal 'I'm feeling a bit hungover, I must eat everything I possibly can'. I've had two slices of toast with salmon pâté and I'm going to try to hang on til tea now which will be mashed up avocado, egg and tuna with cherry tomatoes.

I guess my NSV was a pic posted on Facebook this morning of me and all my mates out last night. They are all a bunch of twigs but I just looked fine next to them, not a big lump, just nice Shock.

I think I'm like you, Pointy, I'm kinda happy where I am now so it's finding the motivation to lose another half a stone and then be really happy with my weight.

Have a good day everyone!
