Anyone with a stone or so to lose? Fancy buddying up?

I think i would be better if i had someone i didn't want to let down!
hopped on the scales this morning and 10st1lb dead. I was about 9 stone last summer and want to get back down there! Currently struggling to get back below ten i keep stalling (and eating biblical quantities of pitta and hummus and galaxy bars... not at the same time)

I have a beach holiday coming up in 10 weeks so a few pounds gone by then would be great!!
Anyone up for buddying up with a food dairy and telling me off?

Make it with stock cubes or herbs, mint, dried apricots, spring onions and chicken stock is nice

Archduke · 28/06/2015 22:36

Hi all

Welcome to the newbies and hoorah for the cops finding your car pointy.

YY to using stock to cook couscous - also don't forget salt/pepper/herbs. I like it with loads of roast veg added, cook up a tray of tomatoes, onions, courgettes etc etc and mix in. Delicious.

I am bloody UP FGS! Weighed in at 61.3kg this morning after getting to 60.6 on Sat. Honestly, bloody hell fire, it's so infuriating. All that sodding juice and one night on the sauce and I put on weight. AAARRRRRRGGGGGGGGHHHH.

It's breakfast time in Oz, am having hot water and lemon and trying to get back on the diet train.

firefly78 · 28/06/2015 22:53

great suggestions thank you.

Steala · 29/06/2015 10:00

10st 13 today- the first Monday under 11st!! This is still way up on my lowest weight of 10st9, but I will ignore the fluctuations because the trend is my friend!

I'm going away for the weekend so I must not blow it. I'm still 17 lb away from goal but I am, at last, a healthy BMI even on a Monday!

PointyBirds · 29/06/2015 10:16

Brilliant Steala! Well done :) A healthy BMI is a big milestone.

I stepped on my scales this morning and they wobbled in the right kind of area, but I'm going to wait til I can get on the scales at the gym tomorrow before I report back, I only weighed in yesterday after all. I'd like to be a weekly weigher, but I can't help myself either.

Archduke · 29/06/2015 13:45

Fantastic work Steala, well done. Well done Pointy too, heading in the right direction.

I've just got home from a late meeting - 10pm here. I managed to resists the mini choc bars and pop on offer and stuck to water, although I did stuff myself with revolting home made pizza for dinner. Ugh, why did I do it.

I pledge to do better tomorrow.

lastqueenofscotland · 29/06/2015 20:10

EllaBella1 · 29/06/2015 20:55

Hi ladies. Trying the Bootea detox this week. Starting tomorrow. Hoping this kicks my scales in the right direction or rather Keeps me Focussed. I like tea so it's win win if it doesn't help!

Xoticdreamz · 29/06/2015 21:15

Well done the ladies with losses !
Not too bad for me still , I'm really really missing chocolate . When I reach 8 stone 4 , if I ever do ... I am going to have a Indian takeaway and a huge box of chocs.
Anyway 8st 10 today , will be really pleased if I get downto single figures in the next few days .
Have noticed my face looks a wee bit slimmer.
Anyone else eat the seaweed thins from Waitrose or sainsburys?
24 calories per packet . An unusual taste but I love them .

MegBusset · 29/06/2015 22:54

Hello! I have got a stone to lose - I keep joining threads, doing well for a couple of weeks then falling back into bad habits story of my life

My worst habit is wine in the evening, followed inevitably by chocolate. Plus now that I work most days, I no longer have time to exercise in the daytime - I used to enjoy running but couldn't fit it in now unless I got up at 5.30am never going to happen

So my plan is to 'Shred before bed', i.e. instead of collapsing on the sofa with wine and chocolate of an evening, to do the 30 Day Shred an hour or so after dinner. That should help with burning more cals and not eating so many!

I'm also MFPing and might log what I eat here as it really helps me not cheat if my internet friends are watching Grin

So today is day one, I am 9st 13lb and my target is 9st.

Breakfast: porridge
Lunch: tiger roll with Marmite and cream cheese
Dinner: pasta with loads of veg and tomato sauce. No garlic bread or wine
Snacks: apple, three oat cakes

Not too bad but a bit carb heavy. I do love my carbs though and am veggie so find it hard to do without them!

lastqueenofscotland · 29/06/2015 23:06

Meg I'm veggie too and a long distance runner and finding low carb meals that won't leave me feeling totally like I'm running on fumes the next morning when running my 6am 6 miles is HARD!!

Though tonight when I dished up my portion I did look at it and think god I'm going to be starving id give more to a child... Shock bleeding horror I wasn't. And am nodding off tonight quite sated. Lessons to be learnt!

Happy happy happy ...I'm 8stone 9lb this morning . I have never managed to get to single figures for ages . Just been up down up down .
Sounds good queen , what did you have ?

Whereisthewine · 30/06/2015 11:56

hello can i please join? knew i had put on weight in last 6 months but only just weighed myself in boots and am horrified, 10st11 :-( i'm only 5ft6 so definately need to lose at least a stone.. started the dukan attack phase yesterday and seems to be going ok, plan was to do this mon-friday then attempt no carbs next week but add in veg and salad?

lastqueenofscotland · 30/06/2015 13:36

Massively trying to resist the craving of the chocolate cookies upstairs!
Telling myself when I'm comfortably in the nines i can treat myself to a big slice of chocolate fudge cake and single cream mmmm.

Today I had a chocolate digestive before my 6 mile run (whoops)
A small portion of gnocci at lunch.
Then I've got track session with run club later.
Will get back late tonight so will be a handful of crisps before crashing I imagine.
Low cal if not healthy!!

Resist lastqueen! Resist! :) We have biscuits in the house for the first time since I started all this. They're not even biscuits that I like very much, but that didn't used to stop me attacking them in the mid afternoon slump. Going to be strong, yes I am.

I've had prawns, pak choi and beansprouts for lunch, fried with garlic and chilli and soy sauce, yum. DD2 looked at it and said, 'that's not lunch, it's just prawns and vegetables'! Which goes to show how carby we are as a family - if it doesn't have bread or pasta then it's not a meal Grin

Now having berries and greek yoghurt to stave off the slump. I weighed myself at the gym this morning, 10st 5lbs, yes! 9lbs (ish) off in the last two and a bit weeks. This is the most successful diet I've ever been on, thanks to all you lot.

PointyBirds · 30/06/2015 14:00

And welcome Whereisthewine :) Tis a good thread this, you can do it :)

lastqueenofscotland · 30/06/2015 15:21

Pointy that's an amazing number well done!!

I did resist... However someone in the office bought in those packs of minibites and I had 1. Which will be about a tenth of the calories compared to what I was craving and my sweet tooth is totally sated. So go me!

Hello lovelies! I've not checked in since Saturday Blush
Newcastle was good on Saturday, I was fine with food ( chicken caeser salad) and only three drinks.
Sunday went totally up the shitter, as did Monday, as the in laws were here so lots of boozing and eating.
I daren't even weigh myself! I'm away at the weekend, so will totally struggle.
I know this sounds ridiculous, but I wish I had a straight month without and social or family commitments. I just can't seem to be good!

TurnOverTheTv · 30/06/2015 15:42

Bloody hell Pointy well done girl!

PointyBirds · 30/06/2015 18:25

Heh, no such concerns for me - I knew being anti-social would come in handy one day Wink

And cheers, I'm well chuffed with myself, just got to stick with it. I'd love love love to be under 10.

MegBusset · 30/06/2015 18:43

Sounds like those of you who have been here a while are making great progress :)

I find it really hard not to overindulge at family/social events too. Particularly if they involve drinking! We're going to a festival on Saturday so that will be a challenge. The trouble is that it can take me a week to get a pound off, but only one day of overdoing it to put it back on :(

TiredAssShowgirl · 30/06/2015 21:45

Hey all, i maaay have been hiding. Had a few bad days! But, onwards and downwards. Been ok today, had a HUGE lunch, but not been hungry at all all day since, and i don't think that i actually used all 1000 target cals.

Weighed in at 9 st 10 - not my lowest, but realistically, 4 lb in 2 weeks, when I've been fucking up 5 days in 7 is not too bad!

I really have to smash it now though, just back home with a fairly unforgiving haircut!

Well done pointy, bloody good going!!

MegBusset · 30/06/2015 22:50

Day two!
Weight: 9st 12lb (I am a daily weigher)

Breakfast: porridge
Lunch: sweetcorn chowder, tiger roll with cream cheese
Dinner: jacket potato with cottage cheese and salad
Snack: handful of strawberries

30 day shred done :)
