Anyone with a stone or so to lose? Fancy buddying up?

I think i would be better if i had someone i didn't want to let down!
hopped on the scales this morning and 10st1lb dead. I was about 9 stone last summer and want to get back down there! Currently struggling to get back below ten i keep stalling (and eating biblical quantities of pitta and hummus and galaxy bars... not at the same time)

I have a beach holiday coming up in 10 weeks so a few pounds gone by then would be great!!
Anyone up for buddying up with a food dairy and telling me off?

I could cry , back up to 8st 12 this morning , didn't have a great day yesterday but not enough to put 2lb on .
It seems like it's never going to go into single figures.
I'm really missing relaxing about food as well , my husband and I are both off and he wanted to go out for a meal tonight.
I said no just drinks , I'm dieting ????
Got a facial and a massage this morning , my once monthly treat on pay day so hopefully that will cheer me up .
Calorie counter extrodener for today .
Well done on the weight loss arch and welcome church and glad they caught him pointy , good karma .

Steala · 25/06/2015 10:05

Sorry to hear that, Xotic. I gained a pound this week too. My ambition not to spend my holiday hating how I look seems to be slipping away.

On the positive, though, and it is important to remember the positives, I like the way I look now better than I did when I was 11 pounds heavier. Even a couple of pounds made some difference. I am trying very hard not to lapse back into my all or nothing thinking. I must not think they because I am not going to reach my goal. I might as well eat what I want. Stay strong.

Archduke · 25/06/2015 10:41

Xotic what an utter fucker putting on weight is. Don't be too disheartened, bodies are weird, I've done the same then stuck to my plan and lost heaps the following week. Are you weighing daily or weekly? I think we all have lots of mysterious ups and downs day-day, which is why it makes sense weighing weekly.

Steala DO NOT GIVE UP! You have done so well to lose 11lbs, that's amazing.

Think about it like this, you can go on your beach holiday now looking utterly fabulous having lost 11lbs or you can keep on track and look utterly fabulous having lost a stone + . . . OR YOU CAN GIVE UP NOW AND GO ON HOLIDAY FEELING CRAP ABOUT YOURSELF (not that you should ever feel crap about how you look - you can look fabulous at any weight - but you know what I mean).

If you just think ho-hum a pound up is a bit crap but I'll stick with the plan and be 2lb down next week rather than giving up and heading for the cakes and being 3lb up next week etc etc.

lastqueenofscotland · 25/06/2015 11:01

Didn't weigh today as didn't have time but I swear I feel leaner. Might just be less bloat fr smaller portions.
11 mile run today
Jacket potato with cheese and beans and tomato risotto but made with pearl barley instead of rice. Is one of my fave meals.

Got 2 birthdays tomorrow and decided I'm not going to deprive myself of a small slice of cake when I feel I've done well this week.
No running tomorrow as my body is crying out for a rest day! And an easier week next week bar the 15 miler I'm going to attempt... Gulp!

I'm getting snack cravings. Must. be. strong.

Steala · 25/06/2015 15:28

Pointy, hang in there. Have a glass of water. Sometimes that helps (not often for me, to be honest, but others recommend it).

Arch, thank you thank you. That is the right way of looking at it.

PointyBirds · 25/06/2015 16:31

Thanks Steala, it's passed. I cut the grass to distract myself :) It's weird, I've felt hungry loads over the past week or so, but that was the first time I've had to really fight the impulse to make toast or find biscuits or something. A real 3 o'clock slump.

Xoticdreamz · 25/06/2015 17:07

Thanks arch and steala, it's nights for me pointy. No wonder you need a wee rest queen , you have been hardcore . Don't know how you do it .
I've been very good so far today , had a lovely facial and massage and sneaked into Zara on my way back and bought a couple of gorgeous dresses for my holiday . Zara have a great sale on .
Out for a drink tonight and will stick to the gin and slim . Can't have too much anyway as up at 6 for work on Friday .
Have a good day everyone.

TurnOverTheTv · 25/06/2015 18:10

I've totally lost the plot after a rubbish day and totally binged :-(
1 twirl, 1 oats and honey bar, and half a chip butty. FFS I'm an idiot!

PointyBirds · 25/06/2015 20:11

Sorry you've had a rubbish day Turn, that doesn't sound like a mega binge though, I'm sure it's salvageable Smile

lastqueenofscotland · 25/06/2015 20:29

Turnover that doesn't sound like a binge! Sounds like what I ate for breakfast at uni!!!

OP posts:
TurnOverTheTv · 25/06/2015 20:42

Ha, maybe I need to try harder! It was a multipack twirl as well so not even full size!
I wonder what constitutes a binge then?

PointyBirds · 25/06/2015 20:53

I don't know, but you'd have to at least have the whole chip butty Wink

lastqueenofscotland · 25/06/2015 21:16

anda full sized chocolate bar!

OP posts:
TurnOverTheTv · 25/06/2015 21:18

I feel a teeny bit better :-)

TiredAssShowgirl · 25/06/2015 21:28

Evening all! Xotic, your massage and facial is making me so jealous, i desperately need both! Sometimes we put on a fake pound, but it will go away, honest!

Turn that is definitely not a major binge! The whole pack of twirls and the whole butty would be a start!

Well done on passing the cravings Pointy - the compulsive ones can be odd - almost gives me an insight into an addiction - compulsion to consume, rather than craving.

I've been pretty crap the last few days, pizza and drinks have featured fairly heavily, a few events I've been to! Averaged about 200-500 cals over goal. Was 9st 10 this am though which was a more pleasent surprise! Up on last week, but after the week I've had that is not too bad.

I want a good weigh in tomorrow, it's my birthday so i don't think it will be stellar calorie wise, my boss has booked an area in the local at lunchtime already.

I've also decided that my face has slimmed down to the point that i can go for a pixie cut again (it hasn't but I'm so bored with my hair i no longer care) so I'm booking that for next week Grin

Zzzsnatcher · 25/06/2015 21:36

Can I join in?
I'm 5ft 3inches and 10stone 8lbs.
Would love to be 9 stone 7lbs. Haven't long had my second baby. Going to try fit in the gym twice a week don't know how?

houseHuntinginmanchester · 25/06/2015 22:21

Welcome zzzz, how about some home fitness DVDs?

Well done pointy for letting the craving pass, I've never realized that you can actually wait for the craving to pass.. Until I read your reply saying it's passed! so thanks for that ! Grin

Turn - not to worry! Just cut down tomorrow.

You know what I'm thinking? I'm thinking maybe everyone's weighing themselves too much and there's this unnecessary angst over the fake pound or so like someone just said. Arnt you supposed to weigh yourself like once a week at most or something? Or is that not the done thing anymore?

I've had a good two days. Yday I ate below goal and pretty sure I have done today too, as breakfast was only a small toast and no lunch! The no lunch wasn't deliberate by the way, just had a really busy hectic day. Have had some toffee popcorn with my cup of tea just now but I think I deserved that Wink

EllaBella1 · 25/06/2015 22:37

Hi all. Weight seems to be stuck at the moment. I'm hope I'm not going through my 'weight stays the same for 3 months ' stage Again...mmmmm..... Hopefully some more running and weights should get this last stone off. Positive thoughts!!!

Oh I made the sweet potatoe recipe tonight!' Sooo good!!! Any idea on calories for the dish?

PointyBirds · 26/06/2015 06:47

It's good, isn't it? No idea on calories, but MFP is quite good for working out that kind of thing, if you have a rough idea of the quantities you used.

I don't think I knew it would pass either house! Very enlightening Smile It definitely helped posting on here about it, someone to report back to, iykwim.

Mediumred · 26/06/2015 08:07

Ooh! Wish I'd 'let it pass' a couple of times ydy! Instead I succumbed to the cravings! I blame the hangover! Always makes me mainline carbs. I did fit in a little swim and cycled to and from work so not a complete waste.

Good luck today everyone!

TiredAssShowgirl · 26/06/2015 09:12

9 st 8 - I'll take that! Undid the mess of last weekend, and it felt slightly more sustainable this week.

Now just have to make sure that today and this weekend don't wreck it again. That said, i did have an almond croissant as a birthday breakfast.

I agree about the overweighing house - i must admit i use it as a bit of a boost if I'm pretty sure it will go well... I know i should weigh on a weekly basis but I'm so damn impatient!

chuchiface · 26/06/2015 10:11

Thanks for the welcomes. After being good all week I went a bit crazy last night and had cheese, olives and crisps - was all going so well until I had a glass of wine... Perhaps I should avoid the drink until holidays (3 weeks away).

TurnOverTheTv · 26/06/2015 10:24

Happy birthday Tired enjoy your day!
I've had spicy lentil pie with sweet potato mash out of the freezer for breakfast as I'm desperate to go food shopping!

sassytheFIRST · 26/06/2015 13:39

4 days into no wheat and reduced carbs generally and 3lbs down. So 11st7. It really is miraculous how much giving up wheat can help me.

Hoping for 11st6 by Monday - that thought will keep me on track over the weekend I hope!

Keep going allSmile
