Anyone with a stone or so to lose? Fancy buddying up?

I think i would be better if i had someone i didn't want to let down!
hopped on the scales this morning and 10st1lb dead. I was about 9 stone last summer and want to get back down there! Currently struggling to get back below ten i keep stalling (and eating biblical quantities of pitta and hummus and galaxy bars... not at the same time)

I have a beach holiday coming up in 10 weeks so a few pounds gone by then would be great!!
Anyone up for buddying up with a food dairy and telling me off?

Saturn I have lost over 1/2 stone in 3 weeks by going totally hardcore and drinking juice for 2 meals a day. It is doable but you have to commit

LastQueen your running is amazing - my husband does similar amounts of exercise (but cycling), eats like a horse and is skinny as a rake. He doesn't eat much rubbish though and never snacks. Just vast quantities at mealtimes. Maybe that's the way to go?

Househunting Flowers for you, small children in an enclosed space is really hard. Can you get everyone out for a walk when you feel like that?

houseHuntinginmanchester · 24/06/2015 00:04

Thanks arch Smile we do have a garden but as we're on the first floor, I haven't been entirely confident about leaving them in the garden to play without me as the youngest has only just turned 2 and a half. Today was the first time I think , that they actually played downstairs without me for a good while, and it felt wonderful! We're in the process of moving, but it's a very slow process indeed..

Last - you ran ten miles today? faints ... I can't even get to 10,000 steps Shock

saturn · 24/06/2015 06:26

Thanks for the confidence turnover and archduke Smile I am starting this morning...1 stone 6lb to lose (somehow managed to put on 4lb in a week, amazing how it doesn't come off as quick as it goes on????) obviously not going to get that off in the 3 weeks before my holiday but will concentrate on getting the 6lb off.

That's great last...and very motivating

sassytheFIRST · 24/06/2015 06:43

I'd like to join for a bit of motivation. A stone or so would be great for me - my weight has crept up in the last 18months to 11st10 which is toooo heavy even if I don't look especially fat.

I've decided to try without wheat for 5 weeks till I go on holiday. I know it bloats me and upsets my tummy (shame I love bread tho). Also cutting down on starchy carbs generally so reducing potatoes and rice as well as pasta and bread. Not fruit of veg tho. Started Monday, am 1lb down this morning. Planning to run 5k a few times a week as well - hoping to go tonight.

Good luck sassy Smile

lastqueenofscotland · 24/06/2015 07:43

Yup 10 miles!
Arch when I'm actually running all the time I can eat whatever and often lose a bit. It's rest weeks or busy weeks where I'll run 2/3 times ie last week I need to cut down or I pile it on quickly

Just hopped on the scales... 141.6! So now only .6 of a lb from where I started rather than 3.6 lbs as was on Saturday....

Well done Queen
What's everyone's plans for today?

PointyBirds · 24/06/2015 09:34

No idea! I'm currently sitting in a garage waiting for them to reprogram DH's car key as they stole my key for his car when they took mine. Then I don't know. Got some running around to do for the endless insurance faff. And prob off to a food shop - any ideas what I should get lunch?

(I'm not much good at forward planning... Grin )

houseHuntinginmanchester · 24/06/2015 09:41

Morning all!
What a lovely day. Today I have a telephone appointment with yet another broker, dropping dd2 off at nursery, and dd1 has a picnic in the park with Rainbows, so will be picking something up for that and joining them there later Smile
Also need to do a food shop and cook something decent as my dinners have been very last minute lately.
Enjoy the weather all x

TurnOverTheTv · 24/06/2015 10:25

Something with salad Pointy Smile
I'm in Bill's waiting for friends, torturing myself over the bloody menu.
I want eggs Benedict but I should have yogurt and granola!
Swimming this afternoon with the smallest child, then food shopping as well.

lastqueenofscotland · 24/06/2015 13:02

Had a toasted bagel for breakfast
All morning on my feed at work just sitting down to left iver curry.
5 mile run later
Having veggie sausages with mash and peas

Didn't finish my lunch again today really trying to learn to stop once I'm full not when the plate is cleared. Difference between satisfied and stuffed!!

TurnOverTheTv · 24/06/2015 15:44

I had a half portion of eggs Benedict for brunch, then went swimming and missed lunch so shared an afternoon tea with my friend Blush
Must make better choice for dinner.
Even though I want pizza and wine.
I used to do Paul McKenna 'I can make you thin' and it really made a difference to how much I was actually eating 'Queen' not sure what the chuff has happened since, I may need to revisit!

Mediumred · 24/06/2015 16:04

Aww, don't feel too bad Turn! You swam and skipped lunch so I'd say you earned a treat!

I'd second salad, Pointy, maybe with some protein too, does seem to keep me fuller longer even when I'm not strictly low carbing.

Ooh good luck Sassy, bet you'll see loads of difference cutting out wheat and massively well done lastqueen, you're doing amazingly with your eating/running!

Missed my HIIT class today but had a little run and some weights/floor work at gym. Supermarket had marked down loads of sushi so I'm having that for lunch & tea but I'm off out later so you can chalk up at least a bottle of wine!

My body seems to be getting more toned except my tum is still pretty flabby despite doing regular crunches! Arghh. Any tips anyone?

PointyBirds · 24/06/2015 20:28

I had asparagus and salmon frittata for lunch, and very tasty it was too. Dinner was a pasta dish we do with sausage and cream and other yummy things that probably isn't the best, but I filled over half the plate with salad leaves and had a smaller portion than normal so think I'm ok.

In other news, they've arrested someone for the burglary - he left a fingerprint on my front door, which seems a very basic mistake!

Are we getting some weird comments on this thread?

Well done everyone on ticking off another day. The only way is down people!

Pointy that's great news that the horrid scrote has been arrested. Any sign of getting your stuff back?

Last night I broke my no drinking in the week rule and had 2 glasses of fizz with a mate. Must. Not. Get. Back. Into. Bad. Habits. Before this health fanaticism I used to drink pretty much every night and I feel HUGELY better for not doing so.

Today I am on juices (again) - although have added more water and am blending it for longer so less sludgy. Much nicer. Then sausages for dinner with salad.

Weighed myself this morning - am 60.6kg. DOWN almost 5kg! Grin

Archduke · 24/06/2015 23:30

The thing that really cheeses me off is that although I am stoked with the (almost) 5kg loss, I know I could put it all on again in a week so easily. Gives me the screaming shits (as us antipodeans like to say).

PointyBirds · 25/06/2015 07:09

It was spam Archduke, claiming to want a weightloss buddy but then reading like an advert for a program they linked to.

The person they've arrested hasn't admitted to anything yet (which seems pretty silly, given they've got his fingerprint...) so he isn't saying anything about where any of my stuff/car is.

It really does suck how quickly and easily weight goes on, and how long and difficult it is to get it off.

saturn · 25/06/2015 07:40

Well done on the weight loss archduke Smile

I managed to stick to my food plan yesterday, but still struggling to fit exercise in. Can't get out of bed in the morning at the best of times to fit some exercise in then and just too tired when I get home late on an evening!!! Early mornings probably would be the better option if only I could get out of bed ...any tips?

chuchiface · 25/06/2015 08:56

Can I join you all please? Not a spammer but seem to keep losing and gaining the same 5lbs! Currently 151 lbs but would like to be about 9 1/2 stone or even 10 stone but haven't been below 149 lb in ages.

I'm using MFP and find avoiding carbs seems to help.

TurnOverTheTv · 25/06/2015 09:07

I had wine last night, and quiche with new potatoes, but I've lost another pound so god knows how that happened!
Must go food shopping today, I'm feeling a bit delicate so must make good choices instead of mainlining carbs and cheese in a mild hungover frenzy Grin
Was going to take DH away for the night on Saturday but will end up stuffing our faces and guzzling cocktails so I might knock that on the head!
Food plans for today?

TurnOverTheTv · 25/06/2015 09:08

And welcome Chuch Grin
