Does anyone want to join me in 3 healthy meals a day and no snacking plan?

I'm an overweight grazer and feel like I've lost my way totally.
I eat far too much and hardly remember what feeling hungry feels like.
I'm not going to be strict about what I eat - just normal sensible meals with vegetables. If I eat out then I'll make a healthy choice.
Anyone fancy it?

Yes, it happened today. She was saying she's 10 weeks I think.

BaconAndAvocado · 05/06/2015 21:18

Lordy, what is going on with the world?

I'm sitting here watching Big Bang Theory, having just eaten a packet of cashews and am now wondering what to eat next.........help!

Unfortunately, DH is out so not around to berate my gluttony!

500Decibels · 05/06/2015 22:01

It depends on body frame too so ignore all those people saying size 10 is overweight.
I would consider myself healthy if I could get back to a size 10 at my height of 5'2"
Love the s diet! Thanks for that post.
BaconandAvocado hope you managed to curb the snacking.

I saw that thread viva. What I found most awful was that the op had had bulimia in the past. Yet plenty of posters thought it was fine to point out that she was in fact overweight and went on about vanity sizing. Hardly a sensible thing to say to a pregnant lady with an eating disorder. Hmm

I've been slipping a bit this week, and eaten more than I should have. And slept less (lots of work on ATM) and done v little exercise.

But I have still lost a pound this week. Not great, but better than putting weight on (which I feared).

Am going to try harder next week and then after that my workload should improve, so am going to get running again.

VivaLeBeaver · 05/06/2015 22:26

Meers, a pound is good. Well done.

I saw a friend today who I haven't seen for a bit and she's lost 7lbs doing slimming world (SW does not work for me). It's very noticeable that she's lost some weight and she says all her clothes which were tight now fit a lot better.

So even half a stone makes a difference!

I can't imagine size 10 is overweight for anyone!

I have to admit to having a slice of toast last night! I'd driven for 3 hours in the evening and was starving by the time I got there, I tried to hold out, but my tummy was turning over!

I'm away this weekend, so I suspect this won't be my only slip-up...

IdStillRatherBeKnitting · 06/06/2015 11:39

Hi, can I join please? I really need some motivation to shift some more blubber.

I lost 6kg from Jan-Easter doing MFP and counting steps, but stopped Easter Sunday (I'll have a day off me thinks...) and have been eating badly ever since.

I've got a 100K charity bike ride mid July, so need to get many more miles in not to hold the club up. So I'm off out in the wind in a moment.

I need to stop snacking. I graze all day.

I have to warn you all that I'm a terrible thread killer, so please keep posting!!! And you're all doing so well. I want to lose another 10kg to get back to my 'best' sort of size.

Fairenuff · 06/06/2015 11:46

I haven't had a great week. Not snacking but not great meal choices either so don't think I'll lose weight this week. But these are habits that will take a while to change so I'm going to keep chipping away at it and hopefully make better choices more often.

Keep it up everyone Smile

Yes, it's hard work keeping the 'revision nibbles' supplied when I can't have them myself Grin

PurpleDaisies · 06/06/2015 18:11

I've found it difficult to cut the grazing. It really hasn't helped that work is really busy and l my lovely pupils keep providing biscuits. I've been on the scales (it has been five days) and lost 0.5kg which is just over a pound. Bit disappointed. I think to might need to look at my meal portion size as well as the snacking.
Well done to others who have lost this week and keep at it everybody!

Welcome knitting! Your bike ride sounds incredible. I'm a big crochet fan and trying not to let my latest delivery from wool warehouse get in the way of the gym...

tumbletumble · 06/06/2015 19:21

I've found that I'm a bit 'all or nothing' with the grazing. So most days I have not snacked at all, but a couple of days have been really bad for snacking - nothing in between. I think I need to get myself out of the 'well, today's ruined already' mindset!

tumbletumble · 06/06/2015 19:22

Good luck to the DC taking exams!

BaconAndAvocado · 06/06/2015 21:03

Oh dear, another rubbishy day of snacking/grazing/scoffing....l

Roll on monad when I'm back at work Smile

VivaLeBeaver · 06/06/2015 21:39

I think I've had a day off from the diet today. Grin

Spinach blast for breakfast
Egg sandwich and brownie for lunch
A cornetto
Chicken tikka masala and a poppadom for tea.

Viva - apart from the spinach blast - your day sounds delicious!

B: scrambled eggs
L: salad in a pub, carb free and actually a small portion - and delicious! Beef brisket with mango and avocado. Think I might need to try and recreate it at home :)
D: bolognese with cheese and toast

A small handful of cashews to tide me over until lunch which was at 2pm and I was starving! There was the option of cupcakes so I think I showed good will power!!

Tomorrow's challenges are lunch in bella pasta and probably dinner in a service station...

PurpleDaisies · 06/06/2015 23:30

Viva your day off diet has been better than my day on diet!
Brek poached egg, spinach, lt Philadelphia and seedy bread toast
Lunch jacket potato and chili from the under 500 cal menu at the local pub
Oatcakes and sine delicious blue cheese (bad!)
Tea chips from the chippy because we were both knackered (epic diet blow out)
Snickers bar because the wagon was well and truly off.
More oatcakes and cheese.

Tomorrow is another day...with the big challenge of a BBQ-help!

IdStillRatherBeKnitting · 07/06/2015 08:56

Not too bad a start yesterday...
b. homemade almond biscuit
l. salad and ham wrap, banana.
e. 9 very windy miles on bike. Just 5k steps though (no school run).
d. bowl of porridge with apple nuts etc.
I had a pear in the evening, but it's so much better than the crisps and biscuits that I'd usually have.

Just weighed myself, and I'm half a kilo up, so this is the time to start.

Have a good Sunday everyone, got family here for lunch, so lots of frantic tidying to do!

B: one slice of peanut butter on toast
L: at Bella Italia, prawn tomato pasta supposedly under 600cals with just water. Two spoonfuls of other people's puddings they insisted I have!
D: M&S makerel salad 350cals
No snacks.

VivaLeBeaver · 07/06/2015 19:51

Quite a good day.

Spinach and pineapple blast for breakfast
Chicken salad for lunch
Ribs, slimming world chips and samphire for dinner

Followed by a cornetto!

15 mile bike ride this morning and decorating all afternoon!

Sunshine200 · 07/06/2015 20:00

Yay, I've reached my target weight! Still have the muffin top though Hmm

Been going for 5 weeks and lots almost a stone. Been following slimming world principles (although don't know them all as haven't joined!). Mainly avoiding all junk food, eating fresh, and eating much less bread. Also limiting alcohol consumption to rare nights out, rather than just in front of the telly!

What has helped immensely is the fact that my husband is doing it, and has been more hard core than me. I've also started jogging.

Going to keep up the healthy eating and ramp up the exercise to get rid of that belly.

VivaLeBeaver · 07/06/2015 20:30

sunshine. That's amazing. A stone in 5 weeks is great. Well done, you must be chuffed to bits.

I think it will take me longer than 5 weeks to lose a stone!
