Does anyone want to join me in 3 healthy meals a day and no snacking plan?

I'm an overweight grazer and feel like I've lost my way totally.
I eat far too much and hardly remember what feeling hungry feels like.
I'm not going to be strict about what I eat - just normal sensible meals with vegetables. If I eat out then I'll make a healthy choice.
Anyone fancy it?

Hello, I haven't posted for a few days but today was a good day:

No breakfast
L: jacket potato with baked beans
S: stir fry duck with asparagus and mange tout (yum!)
Snack: strawberries, plums

MugsLife · 17/07/2015 18:24

Always homemade cake on offer! That must be very tough to resist every day - cake is my weakness! Getting worried about GBBO starting again soon as I can't watch that without getting hungry!

Today:
B: fried eggs and 1/3 and tin of beans, half slice of bread (I only use a tiny but of oil in a non-stick pan and put a lid on to help them cook through)
L: smoked makerel + tsp of mayo on one slice of bread
D: homemade butternut squash dahl and half a naan bread and yoghurt
Snacks: banana and two squares of dark choc Blush

MugsLife · 18/07/2015 20:03

Fed up with seeing the same number on the scale :(

Today I have had:
B: banana on toast
L: 3 fishfingers in one bread with ketchup
D: pork steak, new potatoes, peas carrots

I might have to have a small extra later.

PurpleDaisies · 18/07/2015 21:07

Have you thought of switching to using a tape measure instead of the scales? My wright has been fairly static for the past few weeks now but my waist is three inches smaller.

Today's been a relaxed day on the plan. I ran for two miles this morning and had a really lovely three mile walk this evening with my husband (and a pink raspberry magnum!).

B scrambled egg on toast
Apple
L cheese and ham sandwich on brown bread with salad and half a bag of crisps
Half a Nutella brownie
T spicy meat feast pasta bake
Magnum
Breadsticks and houmous

MugsLife · 19/07/2015 09:22

It's fine, I know a plateued at the same time last month, but then quickly lost 4lbs, so hopefully something similar will happen this month. It has finally budged and dropped one lb today. I did get the tape measure out yesterday, so maybe I'll see more loss there, but I don't have much too lose on my waist. I can fit better in more of my clothes now, so it's definitely doing something!

DogWalker75 · 19/07/2015 09:36

Can I please join in?! My DS is 2 now, and not only have I failed to lose any baby weight, I've put on an extra 5lbs on top of that. Blush
I am 5ft 6in and I'd like to weigh 9st 10lbs or there abouts. I am a size 12/14 atm, and weigh 11st.

My downfall is snacking on chocolate. Lots of chocolate. And I do like the odd mcdonalds too.

I am on week2 of C25K but I'm struggling to find the time or motivation to continue.

Today, I think I'll have one slice of brown toast for breakfast, a salad and some quiche for lunch, and bolognese for dinner. I'm also going to stick to drinking water and tea only, no juice!

MugsLife · 19/07/2015 22:13

Welcome Dogwalker!

Today:
B: scrambled eggs and tomatoes
L: egg salad sandwich from cafe. My toddler took some of my bread, but fed me some of his chips and I feel I should encourage sharing!
D: spaghetti Bolognese and peas
Snacks: mug of hot milk, a nibble of cookie...

PurpleDaisies · 19/07/2015 22:26

Hi dogwalker! I'm also doing (sort of) c25k although I'm a few weeks ahead. I struggled at first but now I'm in more of a routine regarding when I go it is much better to find time. I have definitely noticed it getting easier to run too (I did two miles yesterday with just a 30 second walk halfway through. I've never been able to run before and I'm pretty proud of myself). I'm going to get myself some new trainers instead of a food treat when I can do the whole distance.

Today has been a terrible day for eating but really nice in general. Breakfast was toast and marmite. Then two biscuits at church, sausage and chickpea casserole with wholemeal bread for lunch but we went to the park for the afternoon and had crisps, half a sausage roll and an ice cream. Worse, we were late back so three more biscuits at church then a McDonald's! Ah well, I am making peace with the weekends being more relaxed and I'm now aiming to be mostly sensible and not have a total pig out for the whole time.

MugsLife · 21/07/2015 12:08

I didn't check in yesterday so here goes.

Lost another 1lb yesterday so that's 2 in the last couple of days but my weight hasn't moved in weeks before that!

B: banana mashed in natural greek yoghurt
L: was in a cafe were there were no healthy options so I went for brie, bacon and cranberry toastie! Bite of son's tea cake
D: homemade chicken and veg thai curry and rice
Did managed to get on my exercise bike also.

PurpleDaisies · 21/07/2015 18:26

You're doing so well mugs. I've had an up and down day because of some monster period pain. Forced myself to go for a run and enjoyed it a lot more than I was expecting. My husband (who is a teacher and off all summer) did the weekly food shop and bought all sorts of tempting treats that I used to be thrilled with but now make it more difficult to stick to the plan. I did enjoy a custard tart with lunch though..,
B mini club choc bar
L small portion of pasta with melted cheese and a custard tart (full on comfort food), hot chocolate
T vegetable cous cous with paneer, pine nuts, dried apricots and a yoghurt and coriander raita

Monroe · 21/07/2015 18:44

Well I've done rubbish Smile
I stuck to it completely Mon to Fri then really let myself go at weekend and when I weighed myself today I've actually put on 2lb.
But I'm due my period so trying not to feel too bad about it.
I need to try and stay organised and prepare my lunches and have easy healthy meals in for the evening. Not giving up yet.
Well done everyone else on your losses

MugsLife · 21/07/2015 20:57

Purple I know the feeling! My Husband was with me during the shopping today and he put in cookies, mars bars, and the worst raisin and cinnamon bagels! I love the smell of those! Resisted so far... I couldn't resist custard tarts though!

B: scrambled egg
L: makerel salad
D: lamb kofta with homous, one pitta, salad and yoghurt

Juat having hot milk because I'm so cool Grin

MugsLife · 22/07/2015 22:29

Where have you gone? I hope you haven't all fallen off the wagon?!

Today

B: peanut butter on one toast
L: homous and salad and half a bagel
D: pork steak, new potatoes, carrots and peas (all buttery!)

Snacks: banana, yoghurt and honey, and half a cinnamon and raisin bagel whoops!! I just couldn't be bothered with being hungry today, feel like I'm running out of motivation a bit so I hope I can get back on it.

I did lose another pound this morning, so it's 3lb in total for this month which isn't too bad considering the holiday.

PurpleDaisies · 22/07/2015 23:03

I'm still here! Today started well with personal trainer session, Zumba and yoga but I had a migraine and ate a load of junk this evening. It is so difficult not to reach for food as a comfort crutch.

B porridge
Snack banana
L homemade spicy parsnip and carrot soup with wholemeal bread, a yoghurt
T tortellini with pesto, pine nuts, olives, Parmesan and capers
Snacks post migraine quavers, frazzles and four cookies. Oops.

MugsLife · 23/07/2015 20:42

Today:

B: porridge
L: omelette and salad
D: chicken and chickpea curry, rice, half mini naan
S: banana

PurpleDaisies · 24/07/2015 19:52

Apologies for no post yesterday. I have a poorly guinea pig who isn't eating and I'm having to hand feed until he gets better. He looks so miserable it is heartbreaking!

Eating has been ok today-wholemeal toast, ikea lunch (meatballs of course) and half a frozen vegetable pizza for tea. Only half a small twix for a post Pilates dizziness averting snack.

MugsLife · 24/07/2015 22:40

Poor guinea pig! Hope he gets better soon!

Today I have had
B: toast with peanut butter 1+1/2 slices
L: leftover curry from yesterday and half mini naan
D: fishfingers and beans and toast as it was only me and the toddler today and I was busy.
Snack: banana and a couple of chunks of choc that OH gave me when he went away weeks ago and haven't eaten much of.

cheapskatemum · 25/07/2015 17:07

Hi Again! I've been on the no S diet thread, but you lot are talking my language! I love Zumba & walking my dogs and struggle not to snack during the day and particularly last thing at night (my treat for getting to the end of the day Confused )

Dogwalker75 I'm 5'6" and would love to be 9st 10lb as well, although anything starting with a 9, rather than a 10, would do me. I'm currently 10st 5lb, so telling myself I need to lose half a stone. That doesn't sound too bad, but it's always the last few pounds that are the hardest to lose.

Today:
B bircher muesli with banana
L Smoked mackerel salad with new potatoes & a millionaire's shortbread
D will be curry (always curry on a Saturday, thanks to DH)

MugsLife · 25/07/2015 17:33

Today I've had:

B: I can't actually remember - probably toast!
L: tuna sandwich
An afternoon treat of cake with my toddler in a cafe. I didn't eat all of it!!
D: 2 sausages, new pots and broccoli
I snaffled a chunk of Brie from the fridge too.

Knowing I have to admit what I eat here doesn't seem to be stopping me anymore, and today was more like a pre-diet day. I also went a bit nuts picking up stuff for a picnic tomorrow so there's no hope!

MugsLife · 26/07/2015 19:47

I have horrendous toothache today. My gum over a wisdom tooth that never came out properly is swollen and very sore, so I haven't eaten too much today.

B: scrambled eggs
L: a little roast chicken and a few new potatoes

My husband has just popped to get me some soup :(

Hopefully I'll get an emergency appointment tomorrow

PurpleDaisies · 26/07/2015 20:32

Get well soon mugs-dental pain is absolutely awful and you have my greatest sympathy. My poor little guinea pig has teeth trouble too (vet medicine by Google diagnosis and he's going back to the vet tomorrow). We've had to hand feed him with a syringe all weekend and although he's much brighter he seems to be struggling with chewing. Hopefully the vet will get to the bottom of it in the morning.

Eating has been a bit of a disaster this weekend due to piggy related worries and a friend staying. Hopefully tomorrow will be a better day...
B sausage sandwich
L at restaurant: smoked salmon, cod with hollandaise sauce and vegetables, sticky toffee pudding
T beetroot and sesame dip with breadsticks

MugsLife · 26/07/2015 22:13

I think I need that syringe! Even having soup somehow hurt :( I really emphasise with your guinea pig now!

MugsLife · 27/07/2015 21:28

I have antibiotics now so hopefully on the mend. Don't feel hungry at all at the moment, which is just as well as eating is not fun.

I'm thinking I'm actually going to eat more when I'm better. I'm still not a healthy bmi, but I really think I look ok and I fit into all my clothes now which is all I wanted. I think I'm going to focus on just being healthy and exercising more and losing weight very slowly.

Today has mostly been soup and tablets!

PurpleDaisies · 30/07/2015 21:33

How's your tooth doing mugs? Really hope you're better now. It's great you're feeling happier with his you look now. Slow and sustainable is definitely good when it comes to weight loss and I'm sure you'll keep losing even if you eat more if you don't go mad.

My poor little guinea pig still isn't eating despite the vet trimming his teeth so it's a bit of a worrying mystery. Had a few bad days feeling sad and worried so the comfort food came out again. It is so difficult to avoid it, especially when my husband can eat what he wants without putting weight on.

Today has been better...
B porridge
L omelette and kale crepe
T "chicken" quorn, egg and pepper curry with rice

I have banana bread in the oven as I type for pudding.

MugsLife · 31/07/2015 12:26

Hi Purple, thanks, I am feeling better now although it's still lingering which is annoying.

Yesterday I had
B: porridge with a few raspberries
L: mushroom and ham omellette with ratatouille (peppers, aubergine, tinned toms, courgettes)
D: roast chicken thigh, mash, cabbage, carrots and chicken gravy (mmmmm!).

I'm trying to eat more veg!
No snacks.
