Does anyone want to join me in 3 healthy meals a day and no snacking plan?

I'm an overweight grazer and feel like I've lost my way totally.
I eat far too much and hardly remember what feeling hungry feels like.
I'm not going to be strict about what I eat - just normal sensible meals with vegetables. If I eat out then I'll make a healthy choice.
Anyone fancy it?

Yes I've used myfitnesspal but that davinas one has a 5 week personalised meal plan.
You know when you get fed up and you just want someone to tell you what to do? I feel like that now. Just a bit fed up of having to think of what to cook and is it satisfying enough? Grabbing bits and bobs because I can't be arsed to cook lunch just for myself because it's another chore.

Sorry the exercise is personalised apparently but not the meals.

Hello all. I've been doing 'no snacking' for 3 weeks now. Just 3 meals a day. No desserts, except twice last weekend at social events.
I don't know how much I've lost so far as I don't have any scales in the house, and hate weighing myself... I go by how loose clothes are. And going by that, I've barely lost anything. It doesn't seem fair as I have had two long periods every day (between meals) where I've been hungry, tummy rumbling, and have been drinking loads of water in those times.

Clothes shopping today for a holiday next week (my big incentive) and either I was much larger than I thought previously, or I've barely lost anything... I'm the same clothes size.

Well I can't eat less than I am doing. I really can't. So not sure what to do if this doesn't work!

500Decibels · 12/06/2015 19:32

Viva you're doing really well!
I'm sure it will work for you. It works for me when I don't succumb to desserts.

so far today,
b. belvita biscuits
l. macvities breakfast oat things
t. 2egg cheese and ham omelette with a huge portion of salad, half a cantaloupe melon and some raspberries.
Hopefully I won't eat anything else today, but am bound to be hungry later.

Decided not to ride today as too hot! Marched rapidly the mile up to school, and dawdled back, managed not to have ice cream when I got one for the dc's.

When I met DP 6 years ago I was nearly 3 stone lighter than I am now. It is quite depressing!

BaconAndAvocado · 12/06/2015 21:00

I know exactly what you all mean about getting disheartened when the weight doesn't come off and then giving up.

I'm 45 and each year it gets harder and harder to shift any weight that I've put on, usually after the Christmas feasting!

I'm going to stick with this though as I think the idea of not eating between meals definitely makes sense.

As soon as I call it a diet it won't work anymore Smile

tumbletumble · 13/06/2015 08:04

I do seem to be losing weight (5lb in the last 2 weeks) but I really sympathise as I have been in that position many times before (dieting but not losing). I just seem to be in the zone this time - not sure what's different!

VivaLeBeaver · 13/06/2015 08:24

Well here's hoping yesterday was a blip.

Weighed myself today and I'm 87.8 kg. which is 0.8kg lighter than yesterday. Not sure how ive lost nearly a kilo in one day but I'm taking it!

I was 90.2kg when I started so that's 2.4kg in three weeks ive lost which is about 6lbs I think.

IdStillRatherBeKnitting · 13/06/2015 15:09

Well done Viva. 2lb a week is what they recommend isn't it? I lost at about that rate earlier in the year, and have kept it off (well all but a kilo).

I ran a little experiment, and apart from a cup of tea and 2 of coffee I didn't have anything after my tea last night. By 2pm I was properly hungry, so I guess I've been really overeating lately.

Had a whole bag of salad (with salad cream) and a packet of sunbites for lunch. But walked 2.5 miles round the shops with DD1. We had a bit of a spend up, it was lovely buying something for everyone, as I so rarely can (my dad gave me a bit of a windfall he's had, he's lovely). I tried on some clothes. Still don't recognise the body in the mirror, I'm sure that's not me. DD1 commented that my body was a souvenir from 'having all of us'. Thanks honey!

Well done on that loss viva! :)

I've been camping/weekend holiday and had some pretty unhealthy meals... But I didn't go overboard and didn't have any snacks inbetween or puddings and I was much more active than usual so I'm hoping it will be ok!

I'll weigh myself tomorrow, but I fear it won't be good news...

PurpleDaisies · 14/06/2015 22:51

Mugs I am dreading tomorrow's weigh in too...I've been to a wedding so the diet went completely out of the window! Really hoping the damage isn't too bad.

IdStillRatherBeKnitting · 15/06/2015 08:29

Have weighed myself and am down just under a kilo.

Ate my own body weight in crisps and cake yesterday, but did walk 7 miles! We took the dc's to see the pandas, but that's a 6hr round trip in the car to mil, plus a train and bus to the zoo, hence all the snacks.

MugsLife · 15/06/2015 10:03

So I'm just 1lb lighter than last Monday, although I weighed the same as this on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday last week so it feels despressingly static. Nevermind, I will keep going and hope for better soon.

PurpleDaisies · 15/06/2015 11:21

Well I am up a bit on last week but still down overall. Not surprising given this weekend's wedding related overeating. Trying not to be too disappointed. This is a new day and the only way is down (on the scales!).

Does anyone use a body fat measuring scale? I'm considering investing in one to see if even though my weight is static I'm actually losing fat. Maybe I'm clutching at straws!

MugsLife · 15/06/2015 18:17

I think those body fat measuring scales seem like a waste of money. I think I can safely say I have too much fat on my body without measuring it. I don't see how they could be very accurate either. I think I would be tempted if they were accurate and not so expensive.

Today I have had:
B: porridge
L: roasted butternut squash slices, 1/3 avocado, 25g feta, half a wholemeal pitta, homemade homous made without oil.
D: bolognese without pasta. Big pile of steamed peas and carrots. Sprinkle of cheddar.

2lbs down on the scales too, so happy about that. Well done everyone else.

MugsLife · 16/06/2015 08:03

Great loss Flap!

I'm down another 1lb today! Looks like this is actually working :)

MugsLife · 16/06/2015 17:38
