Does anyone want to join me in 3 healthy meals a day and no snacking plan?

I'm an overweight grazer and feel like I've lost my way totally.
I eat far too much and hardly remember what feeling hungry feels like.
I'm not going to be strict about what I eat - just normal sensible meals with vegetables. If I eat out then I'll make a healthy choice.
Anyone fancy it?

I had a bad day yesterday. I did a 4 mile brisk walk then had toast with peanut butter for breakfast then couldn't stop eating it! I'm ashamed to say that I had 4 slices.
Lunch was some yoghurt and crisps then dinner (rice and chicken) was followed by chocolate.

Today will be better. I've had 40g shreddies, fat free Greek yoghurt and chopped banana for breakfast.
Lunch will be sushi and soup and I'm making fish pie for dinner but I'm having fish, veg and potatoes (ie the fish pie components but without all the sauce for the pie and butter for the mash)

Well done Tumble that's really good!

Me today is:

Breakfast was a bit delayed so I was starving by 10.30 and had scrambled eggs and one slice of toast.
Lunch - salad with small portions of goats cheese and peppered smoked mackerel.
Dinner will be something approximating the good food's oriental pork balls in broth which is one of their low calorie recipes, although I will chuck in a bit of noodles too.

I really like the simplicity of just three healthy meals. I stumbled across the No S diet a few years back.
It's no sweets, no snacks and no seconds except sometimes on days that start with S (saturdays, sundays and special days).
Such a simple idea really.
I lost about 5kg this way back in September, but have fallen off the wagon, so am joining again.

I've had a really busy work day and did fairly well with eating only one biscuit instead of the usual five. One of my pupils has given me a big box of chocolates which is lovely but problematic in terms of diet! Is it best to eat them all quickly so they're gone or attempt to ration them?
B: crunchy nut cornflakes without milk
L: pasta with melted cheese (emergency no food and no time to get any)
Snacks: a 100cal chomp bar and a digestive biscuit
D: Quorn chili with sweet potato, salad and homemade guacamole.

Mugs I want your tea instead!

VivaLeBeaver · 10/06/2015 18:33

B. Belvita biscuits and banana
L. Tuna sandwich
D. Mozzarella and ham salad. Fruit scone.

Managed to resist the chip shop even though I bought dd chips!

MugsLife · 10/06/2015 19:53

Purple - it was nice! I also have a stash of chocolate that I'm avoiding. I figure that I can't complain my diet is working if I'm scoffing chocolate, but I might let myself have some when it's working and I know a little bit won't make a huge difference. Maybe you should stop being such a good teacher?!

PurpleDaisies · 10/06/2015 20:17

Thanks! I work one to one with kids and I both love and hate this time of year. I'm really busy because of exams and and usually counting down the days before I start losing pupils, but then when they actually go it is really sad. You get to know then really well and you can be much less formal than in school so the a level students end up more like friends.

My chili was really nice, just on the edge of too hot which is how I liked it. Poor old dh was sweating a bit! He loves pork so I will be making those meatballs as a Friday night treat instead of take away.

Viva I am in awe of your chip related will power. I have to drive home a different way on Fridays so I don't even smell the chips and give in and buy them. There's no way I could go into the shop without succumbing!

MugsLife · 10/06/2015 22:00

I'm feeling so sluggish today - anyone else?

IdStillRatherBeKnitting · 11/06/2015 10:24

Yesterday was homemade pizza (5 slices so about 1/2 a whole pizzaShock) and a 1" dlice of huge dinosaur birthday cake.
b. belvita breakfast biscuits.
l. 1/2 3" pork pie with apple top instesd of pastry.
Plus a bag of crisps.
Had a flattish 22 miles on my bike. It still took 1h20. Need to up my average speed for this charity thing. But I can't go any faster!
Not lost any weight yetSad .

BaconAndAvocado · 11/06/2015 11:21

Yay! I've lost 1 pound!

Here comes the weekend..........oh yes Saturdays and Sundays don't count!!

PurpleDaisies · 11/06/2015 14:44

That's brilliant bacon!

I'm feeling a lot more confident in a summery work dress today (probably disproportionate to the weight loss) which is definitely helping with the motivation.

So far breakfast was fried egg (no oil) and black pudding (burnt the only piece of bread I had available for toast), leftover chili with cottage cheese and guacamole for lunch and I've stopped in Costa for a black coffee and a bag of sweet and salted popcorn.

Dh cooking tonight-probably prawn curry. Tomorrow will be a big temptation day...I'm making thirty chocolate cupcakes and two load tins worth of rocky road for a wedding. Possibly a carrot cake too!

MugsLife · 11/06/2015 18:54

Well done Bacon!

Purple, I love black pudding too. Good source of iron and not too many calories.

B: 1 egg, 2 mini bacon, 1/3 tin of beans
L: butternut squash and goats cheeses salad and 2 baked chicken drumsticks
D: herby meatballs, wholemeal pitta, Greek salad with olives and feta, homous and Greek yoghurt (probably too much!)

I did have a tiny bit of innocent smoothie, but I resisted ice cream and beer!!

VivaLeBeaver · 11/06/2015 20:33

Today ive had,

B. Banana and belvita biscuits
L. Ham salad and fruit scone
D. Omelette and a magnum!

Magnum wasn't very good!

tumbletumble · 11/06/2015 22:06

Bad day today! Back on it tomorrow.

VivaLeBeaver · 12/06/2015 06:23

Weighed myself, only lost 0.2kg which isn't even half a pound.

Pissed off doesn't cover it. This is the problem I always have dieting that the weight doesn't seem to come off. When I did SW I don't think the woman ever believed my food diaries as she said I should be losing and I was just about static all the time. Then I get fed up and give up.

MugsLife · 12/06/2015 08:33

I'm 2lb more than yesterday apparently. Almost back at my original weight, so I feel like I'm going nowhere too :( I do feel very bloated today, so hopefully it's just excess water weight. I'm planning to keep going the same for awhile, but if I'm really not losing then I'll just have to eat less and less until I do. Not giving up!! I really want to lose a couple of stone before ttc my second!

I'm off camping this weekend with no power so probably won't check-in until Monday - have good weekends everyone!

IdStillRatherBeKnitting · 12/06/2015 09:24

I'm with you Viva and Mugslife... going no where, eating almost nothing! (compared to what I was last week).

I think the bathroom scales are broken (I know they're not).

Yesterday:
b. belvita biscuits
l. Macdonalds snackwrap (I know!), berry frozen smoothy thing
t. bag of crisps, special k bar, aldi fruit bar thing.

That was it, 10K steps, and the scales are stagnant. Bit pissed off with myself. May cycle today if I can fit it in. Still sunny here (up North), anyone got thunderstorms yet?

VivaLeBeaver · 12/06/2015 09:28

Maybe we're all nearly at the time of the month? Thinking about it I reckon I must be as ive had three weeks of dieting and not been on my period during my diet yet!

So yes will keep going. So bloody annoying though.

I'm at uni today which is always hard. Have come prepared with ryvita type crackers and some individual portions of boursin. Also got a 100 cal bag of skinny popcorn for break time as otherwise I know I'll succumb to chocolate.

I think I need to drink more water as well. A friend said this morning that I don't have enough fluids and that my body will have water retention if I don't drink.

MugsLife · 12/06/2015 10:04

Yes, I have a week to go and I always get PMT bad including bloating and bigger sore boobs :(

I was reading about it and it can account for 5lbs!! You are apparently at your lightest just after your period.

Fingers crossed we all have a good loss next week.

So far today I've had,

A banana and 4 belvita biscuits.
4 ryvita type crackers and two mini portions of Boursin.

Going to have spag Bol for dinner.

Haven't eaten my 105cal bag of popcorn yet so will probably have that later.

500Decibels · 12/06/2015 17:14

I've not done too well this week. I think that article about exercising and compensating for the calories is so true for me.
The more running and cyclung I do, the more I want to eat. I don't know how to not do it. It's depressing.

I got a flyer in an amazon delivery about davinas on line weight loss program. It's called getfitwithdavina and is £4.99 a month with the first month free. If there's no commitment I might try the first month.

decibels, there's always My Fitness Pal which is free. I can't be arsed with the hassle of it atm but might reactivate it in a few weeks if things aren't any better.
