The more the merrier.. Welcome (waves)!! So today is a better day... Feel less boated so far... Which is always a good thing!

I love CD, my favs were the chicken & mushroom, veg soup and there are loads of shake flavours to chose from! I really liked the choc Orange, butterscotch, cappuccino, strawberry, toffee and walnut but then I had a really sweet tooth!!! I love a good sweetie.... Lol

Vivacia · 27/05/2015 14:11

As a calorie-counter, may I ask how many calories you're on per day?

Am I right in thinking you're eating packaged meals, and nothing else?

bigbadbuddy · 27/05/2015 16:14

I am eating about 800 cals a day but really should be 3 packs so 600, exante is packs of porridge/soup/bars and shakes but also has some meals and puddings and pizza mixes. I am not hungry at all now which is so unlike me and I am just thinking about how many packs I can have and not worrying about calories or if I am allowed something. I have tried everything and decided I need a quick result for the first few stones, will report back on Friday when I have weighed in.

Vivacia · 27/05/2015 18:21

800 calories?! How long are you supposed to eat like that? It's dangerously low. Is it on the company's recommendation?

Oxfordmum2005 · 27/05/2015 18:33

Vivais, look on the company's web page you will find all your answers there.

Oxfordmum2005 · 27/05/2015 18:36

Hi to all the new people, hope everyone's day has gone well!

Vivacia · 27/05/2015 18:39

What's the company's name?

Oxfordmum2005 · 27/05/2015 18:43

There are several. I am doing Cambridge Diet, others are doing Exante and celebrity slim.

Vivacia · 27/05/2015 18:51

So, what's the general theme? Very low calorie diet meal plans and products? How do they justify such low calories?

Oxfordmum2005 · 27/05/2015 19:04

Sorry, you will need to look at each one separately, I am not an expert on them all.
All I can say is I researched before I started on cambridge diet and I was happy with it. It's a very personal decision, but I am an intelligent woman, so I am comfortable with what I decided.

Vivacia · 27/05/2015 19:30

Perhaps someone else will feel able to answer Smile

bigbadbuddy · 27/05/2015 20:35

Hi, sorry have just come back, you can only stay on this for 3 weeks with exante then you need a break, it is a short term solution for me, i struggle with slimming World and others because I am forced to think about food, this removes that problem. My weight gain has been since early menopause and i have been struggling to loose weight, this is working out so far for me.

zeis10 · 27/05/2015 21:15

Hello everyone and new people. :) Day 2 is nearly over. The only thing I am finding a bit hard is being hungry! Hoping that will pass soon, as my body adjusts.

Vivacia, yes it is extreme, so it is not for everyone , but sometimes that is what feels like the right thing to do. Prob good to research pros and cons...loads of stuff on the net.

Bigbadbuddy so glad you have made a good start and yes I know what you mean about not having to think about food...it's a relief!

Morning everyone was a bit cheeky yesterday and got on the scales a bit early at the gym and lost 4lbs which is great... Onwards and upwards!!!!

Vivacia, Zeis10 is right it is a bit extreme, basically what Cambridge Diet does is put your body in to a thing called Ketosis, it's where you body turns the fat cells in to energy! Now these diets aren't for everyone especially for people that are diabetic, as ketosis could be dangerous for them!!! They do work and they are hard work sticking to the plan... But if it makes you feel better than I am all for it...

I have been way too miserable about my weight.. Needing something to boost me and start me off! These are not something that I advocate for a long time and neither would the companies!!

So how we getting on girls??? Had a bit extra to eat yesterday thanks to my Hubbie... (He doesn't know what I am up to) Shock he works away a lot... He's away all week so will be able to properly focus!!! But still drinking water and eating under 1500, and exercising but not eating them xxx

Keep going girls x

zeis10 · 28/05/2015 08:19

Morning, morning! Day 3, down a few pounds, so feeling good! Just put in my first order to Exante, much cheaper overall, esp when buying a large amount and really want to see if they taste better than Cambridge. Guests arrive today and have told my friend I won't be eating. :)

Thank you zeis and twinkle. I think that we agree on so many points - it's so important to find something that works for you. And just because it works for you, it won't work for everyone.

I think I mentioned that I calorie-count. I can see a lot of similarities between our methods, and I'm curious about the differences. Smile

twinkle183 · 28/05/2015 08:31

Welcome... Your welcome to join cos our ways are not too dissimilar Xxx

OneTwoOrThree · 28/05/2015 20:41

Hi.... Looking to join you ladies! Started on a VLCD on Monday, so have now done 4 days. 4 very longs days, to be honest!

I've bought some Exante products, but am not exclusively eating them. I'm aiming for 3 meals a day, each of about 200cals and less than 15g carbs. Calories and carbs seem to be the key parts of Exante type diets, and I figure as long as I stick to foods with roughly the same make up, then weight loss wise I'll be ok. Exante don't recommend it, as it doesn't give you all the vitamins / minerals you need in a day, but I'm ok with that.

Missing my evening glass or two of wine - a lot. Will be hard to get through the weekend, I think!

Anyway, I'm 5ft2, started at 11st11.5 and would love to get to 9st, however first mini goal is under 10st for my holiday which is mid July. That's a big ask, but Exante do say that losing a stone a month is expected, and that most people lose more in the first month. If I don't make it to under 10st, then at least I'll be significantly thinner than just now!

Using MFP to track cals and carbs.

PS - Twinkle, think we are connected on MFP as recognise your name!

bigbadbuddy · 28/05/2015 20:57

Hi everyone, day 7 just done and feeling ok, still not hungry, clothes feel loser, really easy to do because I work from home mainly so I can regulate what I eat, the weekend will be difficult because I am meeting family but can take a bar with me, means telling people though and I am not looking forward to the comments.
Zeis, let me know what you think about exante, I haven't got anything to compare it to but like most things I have tried. Had the gooey salted caramel pudding tonight and it was lovely. Will come back tomorrow and let you know first week weight loss.

twinkle183 · 28/05/2015 21:49

Morning girls how are we?? Am doing okay today... Off to a school fete not looking forward to that but will resist!!! Xxx still struggling with the water in take so have made a make shift bottle with timings on it so that I drink a certain amount by a certain time!!!

Seeing as I had a cheeky weigh in I'll give it another week to see what's going on!! Smile

zeis10 · 30/05/2015 09:04

Good idea with the water bottle Twinkle! I did NOT rate the scrambled egg breakfast from Exante, but look forward to a bar for variety and also must be much easier when you are out and about...looks a bit more normal right?! Grin
