Hi there I am starting Cambridge next week and have 3 1/4 stone to lose. Be good to chat, share stories and get support and inspiration from each other! Anyone else in the same boat? :)

Was just about to start a new thread when I saw this.
Starting a VLCD tomorrow. For the first time, I'm actually doing what my user name claims to do Smile. Going with Slim n Save as its one of the more cheaper ones out there. I've got about 2.5 stone to lose and want to do the bulk of that before Christmas , although I have a holiday back to see in in-laws in November and ideally want to lose what I can before that. The last time they saw me was when I was a trim size 8 and I'm now a size 16 going onto 18.

Wish me luck! Hope we can support each other.

Good luck tomorrow

Hey. You're back zeis. Was getting lonely.

Ermmm. Well. Why did you have to ask me now?

I ate my own body weight and possibly the weight of the couch too last night in junk food!

But then this morning I came on! (Didn't know I was going to as not regular.)

But straight back on it today.

Bloody hormones.

zeis10 · 31/08/2015 10:37

Hello Carden, sorry to have been absent. Back to school this week, so should be more regular at computer. How are things with you now? Funny how things have all gone quiet on the thread...must be the summer, be good to get it going again! I have had a few weeks off, but jumped back on as often as I could to keep things in check. Seems to have worked, as been back on VLCD for 7 days and today have lost the few lbs I had put on and lost another 1.5lbs, so pleased. Would like to get 10lbs off at least by half-term, with the odd break, as think that works well for me. It slows things, but I think I can manage life more. Then the last half stone off by Christmas. Looking forward and am back in my jeans again. Grin Hope life is being good to you. Flowers

Welcome back Zeis. Yes, it's been very quiet on here.

I'm still plodding on. I'm not managing to do as much walking now. I've also been eating a bit more (4 replacements or 3 and a low carb meal like 2 egg omelette and salad) and I'm still losing 2lbs a week (which I'm still pleased with).

Still got 10 lbs to go. Need to have a few days break next week for work (don't want to but really no choice) and then will get straight back on it.

Am determine to crack this once and for all.

Anyone else still out there?

maakourin · 05/09/2015 16:59

Hello all, i have just joined the group, but nor sure which diet to go for, i have around 4 stones to lose in as short time as possible. Any recommendations?

zeis10 · 05/09/2015 17:21

Hello Maakourin, would defo suggest a VLCD then, as you can lose a stone a month. Might need a break somewhere though, as 4 stone is a lot. I started on 3 1/2 to lose and have lost over 2 1/2. What have you looked at? Smile

carden · 05/09/2015 17:26

Welcome maakourin

I've tried Boossh (4 replacements a day) and Exante (3 a day). Personally I prefer what's available with Exante. And if you keep an eye on their deals page you can the products at a really good price (£3 a day).

I don't seem to lose it as fast as other people do but I'm happy as I don't have to think about buying and preparing food. I tend to have the porridge for breakfast, a bar for lunch and one of their 'meals' in the evening. There are days though when I just have 3 bars as I'm out all day.

I did an order of one of all the products I thought I might like to work out what I liked before I did a big order. Glad I did as some of them weren't for me but then other people really like them so it is very personal.

Now I've lost some weight, I do like that if I do have to eat out, I can do low carb and not blow the diet completely. Would also suggest that you do a couple of days of low carb before you start to help ease you into it.

Happy to try and answer any specific questions you may have.

Good luck

maakourin · 05/09/2015 17:50

Thank u both. I did atkins 3 years ago and did miracles. But seems I cant stick to it nowadays , I do 2 days perfectly and then on the third I start eating rabbish. I will do a research on exante and see. I did diet chef a while ago and i didnt like any of their meals except the cheese maccaroni and breakfast shakes and cereal

maakourin · 05/09/2015 17:52

Zeis may i ask how long did it taje u to lose 2 stones and half and which diet specifically did u do?

zeis10 · 06/09/2015 08:26

Hello Maakourin. I agree with all of what Carden has said. Well this year, when I started I was open about what I would do and just ate a bit less and ate healthily. 1/2 stone came off easily over about a month, which up until that point was pretty good going for me and then I seemed a bit stuck at the same weight. Decide to try VLCD and began with Cambridge, but didn't like the savoury food, couldn't live on the shakes alone and thought it was a lot of money...£45 a week on just me, who would be eating the least! Our weekly food bill needs to be about £55 max, for me and my little girl. BUT lost 8lbs in 1st week, so something was right and have never lost this amount so easily before, not EVER. Switched to Exante, as great prices and much variety. Really mixed views on tastes, as I love some that others hate and others love some that I could well do without. but there is probably something for everyone. I lost I think 21 lbs in the 1st 5 weeks, so was super-thrilled! Since then I lost another 1/2 stone and have been hovering, a little bit yoyo, having time off here and there over the summer. Need to commit and get back on track for another stone before our half-term holiday. Hope that helps! Happy Sunday! Grin

Hi everyone, I posted a few times when this thread started but I spend months leading up to my summer holiday faffing about between calorie counting and going balls to the wall in the kitchen cupboards Blush

Anyway, I felt so rubbish, bloated and sore in Rome that I emailed a Cambridge consultant while I was still over there and met with her the day after I got home (Tuesday). I started that day and I'm now halfway through day 5, doing step 2. I'm so much happier than I ever was doing TS on Exante, no headaches at all, my hunger is going already and I'm enjoying the products more. I had a cheeky peek at my scales and I'm 7lbs down already Grin

7 months and 8 days until my wedding, hoping for 71lbs off in total Shock

helenahandbag · 12/09/2015 15:28

Spent*

carden · 12/09/2015 16:34

Good for you helen. Keep me updated.

I'm having the week off. Back on it on Monday then got a couple of months until my birthday.

maakourin · 12/09/2015 16:54

Good luck Helen am on day 1 with slim and save , lots of recommendation and success stories. So far so good I have 3 stones to lose

zeis10 · 12/09/2015 17:02

Good to see you back Helenahandbag and really pleased you are doing so good now! What do you think the difference is between this time on Cambridge and last time on Exante?

OP posts:
helenahandbag · 12/09/2015 19:11

Definitely being able to eat food! My consultant wouldn't allow me to do anything lower than step 2 due to my medical history and I'm really glad now. I'm having my three packs, which I like better than the Exante packs, plus two milky coffees and a protein and veggie meal every day. When I did Exante in the past I always tried to live on just three packs and it was too much for me mentally.

I'm always starving mid afternoon regardless of how much I eat at lunchtime and it always leads me to the vending machine at work, so it's nice being able to have all three products though the day and still know that I have a filling low carb meal at home.

zeis10 · 13/09/2015 11:47

So pleased for you Helenahandbag. Grin Funny how we all need different things and how a little tweak here and there makes all the difference!

OP posts:
helenahandbag · 14/09/2015 12:54

Day 7 and still on track. I have even put £5 down for my consultant's "biggest loser" challenge, which starts on Monday 20th. It will run for seven weeks and the person who loses the highest percentage of their body weight wins the whole pot, which would be nice in the run up to Christmas!

Absolutely gutted to wake up to TOTM this morning though, I feel so bloated and sluggish Sad I switched from the depo to the mini pill a few months ago and I've gone from no periods at all for three years to a horribly heavy, painful one every two months Angry I just hope it doesn't cause havoc on the scales tomorrow!

zeis10 · 14/09/2015 13:16

Well done for still being on track! I have hit my weight loss goal for this last week, so very pleased. Only a stone to go now! Remember the TOTM weight gain, if there is any, will only be temporary. Smile
