Hi Harry I looked at new you it really has good online support and I enjoyed watching Ellies vlcd blog which was someone from the new you company who did the diet and did an online blog of it you can find it if you google. The meals themselves are a bit more expensive than exante but it looks very good. I would take full advantage of the secret slimmers fb group and the support from new you company, they are supposed to be very helpful. But let us know how you get on.

HarryOtter · 14/07/2015 16:46

I was recommended it by a friend and got a money off voucher however have never heard of exante and it looks good.

Is it possible to do the same eat a low calorie meal and have two shakes or soups the cottage pie I had last night was grim!

lilacblossomtime · 14/07/2015 17:33

It is not recommended to do this all the time as you are getting your total daily recommended nutritional amounts by eating the required number of packs (3 or 4 depending on product) but if you replace a pack with a very low calorie meal it may lack some nutrients. Another reason is that it is a very simple plan of eat nothing but the food packs, but if you start adding in other foods you have more potential to allow yourself extra food. However I do think it would be fine now and again as long as you stick to low calorie and low carb recipes. Also some of the plans do allow a meal in addition to all the food packs for a slightly higher calorie level that some people prefer esp if they are very active.

lilacblossomtime · 14/07/2015 17:38

They say the hunger and headache normally goes on day 3 or 4 once you get into ketosis.

HarryOtter · 14/07/2015 20:24

Ah so today I had one shake, one soup, grilled chicken breast with tomato and a pepper.

Apparently I was supposed to be having four meals a day! Really should read the instructions!

lilacblossomtime · 14/07/2015 20:38

Yes it is very important if you plan to do the diet for a while as it can make you ill if you dont get all the nutrients you need which is hard to do at very low calorie levels, but it is fine to substitute the odd meal.

lilacblossomtime · 14/07/2015 20:43

I think on the new you plan they have some low carb snacks available that you can have occasionally (say a couple of times a week)without going out of ketosis. Also you can just have shakes and bars and soups and not have a savoury meal if you dont like the meals.

Im having trouble sleeping, not because of the diet but my sodding precious firstborn who has had under 2 hours sleep since 3am! I've been sick today because I was so tired so not sure I can ever face a lemon bar again!

Im going to give myself the week off, Im utterly broken with sleep problems at the moment. Keeping sensible then will start again on monday. Im not normally a quitter but I cant handle being sick at all so need to give myself a bit of time to get over it!

lilacblossomtime · 14/07/2015 22:35

I think that is sensible Mango you need to be careful if you are feeling sick and not getting enough sleep.

pinkdelight · 15/07/2015 09:13

Crikey mango, not surprised you need a break with that exhausting situation. Hope you get some rest and get your strength back.

Hi Harry. hope your new you is going well. I've not come across that one before, but I find it confusing mixing the real food with the space food and for me it's a slippery slope to breaking the rules. Must be nice having something proper to munch on though now and again. Hope it keeps you going.

Hope everyone has a good day.

I'm 5' 5", a size 16 and getting married next year too Smile

I've been low carbing but my carbs have been creeping up steadily until I finally had a blow out yesterday. The scales are up by 4lbs and I need to get back on the Exante wagon while I have time - only six weeks until I go on holiday! Shock

I like the look of Slim n Save as they have different products to Exante (cafe latte shake sounds amazing!) and I like the idea of four products but I can never ever find any discount codes for them. Exante always ends up being much cheaper than buying conventional food but SnS doesn't seem much cheaper. I've tried Exante's four a day shakes and they taste disgusting compared to the three a day Sad

mazzyboo37 · 15/07/2015 10:22

Hi helena I'm on slim and save and used to be on exante about two years ago. slim and save company sell bundles on ebay which are more for less money than they usually do on their site. Especially that next day delivery is included in the price.

The only drawback to this though is that yo dont choose what you want in the bundle but they do list every item.
At least then you can decide if its what you want.

I usually order on ebay and make do but think I will order off their site and select myself this week.

HarryOtter · 15/07/2015 10:38

Well I weighed myself on proper boots scales. I'm 12st13lb so am taking that as my starting weight. My scales at home have been changing daily so can't rely on them. According to boots scales I have lost 1lb but then last weighed myself on them about a month ago and I was 13 on the nose.

helenahandbag · 15/07/2015 10:40

That's what would bother me, I'm really, really picky so a random mix of packs wouldn't work for me. I don't like any sort of hot meal replacement apart from the Exante carbonara and the only shakes I like are chocolate and strawberry. They changed the recipe of their chocolate mint shake at new year and it's horrible now so that's out too.

I like the SnS praline bars but I'm not sold on many of their other flavour descriptions. I'm a nightmare! Blush

Careful with the Boots scales, they're not very accurate. I used to work in Boots and the scales are never maintained, even when there are kids jumping up and down on them while their parents shop. They also measure my height differently every time I stand on them and they only weigh to the nearest whole 1lb, no smaller increments. Personally I'd avoid them.

HarryOtter · 15/07/2015 11:44

Ok will purchase new scales! Thanks

pinkdelight · 15/07/2015 12:10

Ugh, am struggling today. Hard innit, when work is tough and you're tired and your tummy's rumbling, but you can't face another shake. And when I made the kids' packed lunched, the new bread felt so soft... aagh!! Am trying to rally myself with gallons of fizzy water and an out-of-day choc orange bar, but it's small comfort. Must keep reminding myself how much I like the weight loss, and that it's only for another week... if I can hang in there...

lilacblossomtime · 15/07/2015 14:45

Keep going pink. Try and do something nice for yourself to cheer you up.

pinkdelight · 15/07/2015 16:55

Thanks lilac, that was v close. At the last moment I managed to deny myself the bread and had a hard-boiled egg instead. Still off-plan but at least I'll still be in ketosis. God it's hard though sometimes isn't it. Thanks again.

lemonstartree · 15/07/2015 23:15

Well done pink it is bloody hard when you are cooking for others.

I'm having trouble sleeping too ....

Am below 10st again today - and very focussed - holiday in 10 days ...

lilacblossomtime · 16/07/2015 07:45

Yay keep going Lemon you can do it.

pinkdelight · 16/07/2015 08:23

Under 10st is amazing! And still over a week to go. Stay focused - it's working brilliantly.

I feel you on the sleeping issues. Still can't get to sleep till after 1am and get woken at 6am. It's not even hunger exactly, just feels weird and unpleasant, restless. Gonna run today and hope that helps.

lilacblossomtime · 16/07/2015 08:52

That might steady up a bit once you are a bit more used to the diet pink.

lilacblossomtime · 16/07/2015 08:55

Harryotter how are you doing? The advantage of having your own scales is you can weigh yourself first thing in the morning, without clothes Grin

lemonstartree · 16/07/2015 11:04

first thing in the morning, after a we , in the nude Grin
