Hi there I am starting Cambridge next week and have 3 1/4 stone to lose. Be good to chat, share stories and get support and inspiration from each other! Anyone else in the same boat? :)

Keep going everyone you are doing amazing.
lemon don't give up, you could easily lose half a stone by 25th July and that would make a big difference.

mangofizz · 10/07/2015 13:38

How is everyone doing today? I find lunchtime so hard! This is my first weekend on the diet, we always have a takeaway on Fridays, usually loads of it and something bad like pizza. Can't wait to get to a point where I can have a treat!

pinkdelight · 10/07/2015 14:20

Hi there, mmm... pizza... takeaway... I dreamt a lot about lasagne last night. But am happily still not too hungry, at least not when I'm busy with work. More worried about tomorrow when I'm going to both a picnic and a BBQ! And will be sitting there with my fizzy water, Coke Zero if I'm lucky... sigh. Just telling myself that I managed it fine last time and there'll be plenty of BBQs etc in future. And if I lapsed now, I'd just go right back up to what I was at the start of this week and have it all to do again. So let's resist! And treat ourselves to.... ? A walk in the sunshine, a bath, something like that...

Will someone in your house still be getting a takeaway? That'd be hard going.

Deeznutz · 10/07/2015 16:11

Hello everyone,
Cracking through day three but my energy levels have plummeted. Seem to have dodged the rotten headache which is a Brucie bonus. Only at 5,000 steps so far so will shift my bum out the door when the temperature drops.

Not hungry but have a strange craving for ham, tomatoes and mustard today.
Weird. Feeling less tired though.

I am going to treat myself to a relaxing bath tonight. I may even shave my hobbit toes and really spoil myself Grin

KOBO everyone x

mangofizz · 10/07/2015 17:43

No luckily my DH is really supportive, he's eating the same as me in the evenings bless him. I keep looking at my fat photo to spur me on, nothing tastes as good as thin feels and all that!

Deeznutz · 10/07/2015 19:07

I don't know about that...

shuffles off after being decidedly unhelpful

zeis10 · 11/07/2015 07:40

So that half a stone I put on in 4 days has gone!! I have never had these kind of weights changes before. 4 days to out on 7lbs. First day back on Exante I lost 4lbs, 2nd day I had lost 6lbs and now it has gone. As I was last Saturday then!! It stalled me for a week only, that is very good. Have still lost 2 stone this year, 20lbs on Exante on my VLCD and 2 stone to go!! Would love it if I could lose another 7lbs before we go on holiday in a few weeks! Grin

So glad it came off quick Smile have a good 2 weeks and you could do it, although probably better not to wish for a certain number, but you will certainly be slimmer.

lilacblossomtime · 11/07/2015 10:18

Hope everyone is having a good weekend so far, and managing to stay on plan.

zeis10 · 11/07/2015 11:01

Thank you Lilac Smile

Still on plan here! I broke through 15,000 steps yesterday too. Yay!

Hope everyone has a positive weekend Grin

mangofizz · 11/07/2015 12:57

Happy weekend everyone! Im 7lbs down for the week this morning, still rest of today and tomorrow to get a bit more off, I really would have loved to get 10lbs off for the first week but will be really happy with 7lbs regardless so anything else now is a bonus. Going to drink loads today to see if that helps something happen overnight! Also havent been to the loo for a couple of days, might take something for that tomorrow to see if that helps lol.

Those doing exante, how do you find it? Im only going to do Cambridge for 4 weeks or so (or maybe a stone and a half depending on how long it takes to come off). After that I was thinking of just doing a meal replacement for one meal a day and low carbing to see if that works. Just toying with whats best, I have no self control with eating since i've been pregnant/had a baby so im trying to think longer term about what my plan will be!

Deeznutz · 11/07/2015 16:35

Re Exante- the bars and shakes are good. The savoury stuff best avoided. Don't buy the raspberry and Lemon ones though unless you want to gargle vomit.

zeis10 · 11/07/2015 17:10

Mangofizz 7lbs is amazing!!! Well done. With Exante everyone says different things I would say. I am doing well with them. I love the bars, porridge and veggie curry. Am bummed I missed my delivery today, so will be waiting quite a while now. Am branching out, as have just realised that the bolognese and chilli bean and Thai chicken soup are veggie soya mince so gonna try those too!

OP posts:
mangofizz · 11/07/2015 18:14

Hah Deez, I'm all about the chocolate flavours so will definitely avoid!

My DH has suggested that I'm careful with carbs and sugar once I reach goal and I'll be fine, he's right but he's not here to control me in the supermarket after a long night with the baby and an aisle full of cakes! Grin

lemonstartree · 12/07/2015 12:35

warning this is a completely self indulgent miserable moan ...

I 'fell off' the exante wagon on Wednesday, ate like a pig Weds & Thurs, went out for dinner with DP on Friday (and ate and drank loads) then did it again yesterday,

This morning I am 5 lbs up and feel like death. Hungover, premenstrual and bloated.

WHY have I sabotaged myself.... ?? I have had eating issues all my life - I'm not hugely overweight ( BMI about 27 when I started) but I am short and pear shaped so really show extra pounds. Once I go over 10 stone I also lose any waist and look like a weeble. I have been bulimic, anorexic and binged purged for years. I'm almost 50 FFS, Its not THAT hard to work out that calories in put weight ON... Maybe this diet is not for me - though I have not been hungry, its just that in some warped way FOOD = REWARD / HAPPINESS /SOMETHING ....

I'm so miserable today ...

You guys are dong great - I admire you all so much. Keep going. I think all I can do is be very gentle with myself today, drink loads of water and eat 3 replacement items ONLY, and get back to it...

lilacblossomtime · 12/07/2015 13:59

Sorry to hear that lemon I would say that this could happen on any diet but it might be a sign you need to make a few changes.

mangofizz · 12/07/2015 20:28

Yes back on the wagon Lemon. The restriction on these diets definitely has its pros and cons. Easier in that it takes the decisions away from you, but harder in that there is no flexibilty at all which I suppose leads to naughtier cheats.

I have 'cheated' this weekend, had a stir fry on friday night that included carrots and beans (not allowed on the step im on) although no rice or noodles etc. Tonight and last night have gone over on the veg allowance and had a red pepper. I dont feel bad about those sorts of cheats though, im not bothered enough about it to not have more veg taking a pragmatic approach!

Weigh in tomorrow and as of this morning im just in touching distance of 8lbs down for the week. Its been really hard though, hope I get a good loss the following week to spur me on!

Deeznutz · 12/07/2015 22:09

Hi Lemon - don't beat yourself up. Sometimes you need to let off a bit of steam and then get back on it. You have only put on 5lbs and that is likely to be water weight so it will soon drop. Also it can be helpful to eat a little to rev up the metabolism. Seriously don't stress, think of it as a welcome break off and then get back in the zone ( as it were :) )

The real problem occurs when you go off plan and then think you have failed and so stop bothering. It is not a fail it is someone needing to take the scenic route for a bit.

Hello everyone else!

Still ploughing on. I had the most gopping shake today - the orange and pineapple one. It was so vile I made all my family try it and they all said it was absolutely vile. bleurgh.

Still on plan, have walked 12,000 steps today. Hope everyone else is well. I have treated my self to some different style clothes today for walking -cropped leggings and loose tunic/dresses to dodge the chub rub in this humid weather which has got annoying. I am getting into it now and my family have all been very supportive.

pinkdelight · 13/07/2015 09:10

Hi Lemon, just to echo what the others said. It's not a big gain, it's just what happens when you stop, but when you re-start it'll fall off again within days and you will start to feel more in control. Happens to us all now and again, but the crucial thing is not to throw the towel in because this does work if we stick with it and you've been doing brilliantly. You still are - far from being miserable and self-indulgent you've been gentle with yourself and got focused again. Good to start the week with a fresh impetus - and a recent reminder that you didn't feel good when you went off piste.

Good also that you're so attuned to your issues with food. Your BMI can't be far off normal so you can't have long to go before you can ditch the drastic regime and maintain with healthy eating and exercise (which I'm hoping will be easier after the VLCD reset). Did you get help with your issues in the past?

Hope everyone else is doing well and feeling good on it. My choc shakes came on Sat so I'm savouring every last drop three times a day, having ditched my out-of-date bars. Hats off to you for trying the different flavours deez, but that does sound hideous. No more experimenting for me! I also find I can dilute the choc shakes more and get 350 instead 250ml and it's still thick enough. Makes a big difference having that extra inch of yum to consume... Hmm, that sounds a bit rude!

Good luck all. Let's stick with it and lose some more this week. Am hoping to get down to 11.5 although that's probably over-ambitious. But have got below 12st now for the first time in over a year so anything's a bonus now.

lemonstartree · 13/07/2015 15:58

Thank you all.

Had a really quiet, on diet, day yesterday and two pounds down this morning, Definitely feel better and am determined to stick to it now.

I have had 'help' for my 'issues' with food in the past, but to behomest its something I have kind of learned to live with. I was too insecure and messed up to really 'access' the support was being offerred and over the eyars, with children and whatever I have kind of muddled along with a BMI of between 19 and 30...

Although this diet is restrictive and I AM thinking about food a lot, to be honest there is never ever a day when I don't, so knowning what I can and cant eat is quite liberating ...

I also HATE the orange and pineapple shakes - horrible. Do like lemon and raspberry though, though I think my fave is "berries and cherries" ....

Deez you are doing really well with your steps!

Deeznutz · 14/07/2015 01:08

Thanks Lemon. I managed over 13,000 today but it was an effort.

Anyone else getting insomnia? Finding it really hard to nod off at the moment.

pinkdelight · 14/07/2015 08:25

Spooky!!!! Deez I was just about to post on here asking if anyone else is having trouble sleeping. Last few nights I've really struggled and I'm normally a good sleeper. Last night, when I went to bed shattered at 10ish and was still awake at 1am feeling really weird, I realised it's most likely the diet but wanted to check with the rest of you. I've got a ton of work to do this week so really need my sleep. Really hoping it's only a passing symptom. You'd think with the number of steps you're doing, your body would be ready for sleep!

Deeznutz · 14/07/2015 11:17

I have had two nights now whereby I haven't been able to drop off before 3am. It's getting annoying. I usually sleep like a log too. I don't feel hungry either so have no idea what that's about.

On the plus side I can see I have already lost weight in this very short space of time! Smile

Hope everyone else has a good day.

HarryOtter · 14/07/2015 16:15
