Philomena that's really hard - but don't give up. I find that I start gaining fluid about 3 days before my period and don't shed it until day 2/3 of the bleed - could that be the problem ? do your clothes feel any looser?

Confused and Flowers

zeis10 · 25/06/2015 12:28

Philomena how long since you saw a change on the scale? Flowers I wonder if a water thing, or some kind of readjustment the body is making, as it enters a new phase of fat burning....Actually I have had no shift since Saturday, that is 5 days, but I feel thinner. Often I am the same for days, then it will go down 2lbs.

Don't get disheartened philomena it's probably what the girls say.... It might your body catching up with your weight loss.. You've probably lost inches?? Did you measure yourself before you started???

Am not doing too bad girls... Congrats to everyone one that has lost! I go back to work tomorrow after a long annual leave.. Hoping I will be okay.. Guessing prep is my answer and tons of water!! Xxx

PhilomenaSkunk · 25/06/2015 14:03

thanks everyone. I know you're all right. I had a really stressful morning planned (work) - I shouldn't have stepped on the scales because it tipped me over the edge! in good news my jeans are falling down today Grin bloody scales are likely to be slung from a high window very soon. I'll measure (forgot at the start)

lilacblossomtime · 25/06/2015 14:41

Its weird you are losing inches but not weight but that does seem like water weight could be affecting the weight. For your jeans to feel looser you would normally need to lose at least 5lb.

PhilomenaSkunk · 25/06/2015 16:46

lilac I know, I'm starting to wonder if there's something wrong. I'm not cheating... if someone else said this I'd think they were maybe going g off plan or something but I'm not!

its very very odd. going to avoid the scales for a week Sad

lemonstartree · 25/06/2015 18:37

Somebody talk to me. I'm starving. I'm sick of Shake sand bars and I'm so bloody grumpy I could scream. I just want a huge sausage sandwich

lilacblossomtime · 25/06/2015 18:54

You are doing so well lemon and I think you will feel bad if you give up now. Try to keep busy and do something fun to take your mind of eating. Did you have a bad day? Maybe it is a bit of comfort eating? If so try to do something nice for yourself that cheers you up without eating.

lilacblossomtime · 25/06/2015 19:40

Lemon have you been having any of the exante meals, this might help if you are getting bored of shakes.

ThatsWotSheSaid · 25/06/2015 21:08

Philomena - well done for sticking to it even though the loss isn't showing on the scales, it's hard enough when it is, so extra kudos to you.

lemonstartree · 25/06/2015 22:14

Thanks guys. I'm safe in bed now. Didn't break the diet and not so hungry now. I do have the 'meals' but only really like the sweet and sour noodles. The ' beef casserole' I found disgusting and the curry is ok ish ... I havnt tried the pizza yet although I have it, and DP says it's ok ...

lilacblossomtime · 25/06/2015 22:34

Well done Lemon, I think you'll have to find things to replace the pleasure you got from food. Ideally healthy things or at least not too unhealthy. I guess having a nice dinner was a big part of your evening and that is why you are missing it. Of course it is worse if you are hungry but I think a lot of it is the enjoyment you are missing.

PhilomenaSkunk · 26/06/2015 07:03

PhilomenaSkunk · 26/06/2015 07:23

I know weird. just weird. thanks for helping keep me on track everyone!

WisteriaRose · 26/06/2015 08:57

Yay! Well done Philomena!

boxofholes · 26/06/2015 10:39

hi everyone - hope you don't mind me barging in?

I've been doing 5:2 on & off for a year & have lost about 50 lbs, which is great but I really need to lose another stone & a half as quickly as possible. I'm planning in doing 28 days of VLC (no alcohol! Wink ) as a boost then back to 5:2 ... so today is day 1!

I'm just going for shakes & bars (exante).

lemonstartree · 26/06/2015 11:18

welcome boxofholes; 50lbs is an amazing weight loss - really well done fo r that ! On the whle I find exante good ( ignore my ranting wobble last night) and I have now lost 9lbs in 11 days. I like the fact that its quick ( i dont haev much patience) and i dont feel hungry, and the choice is taken away from me as I always cheat on other diets ....

I was very upset last night about unrelated thigs and thinks thats what pushed me to be so low. Im a hobby painter so will start a new canvas this evening, and might treat myself to a new brush or two at the weekend !

Painting keeps me occupied and my mind off food :-)

philomena HORRAY !!! at LAST :-) well done for sticking at it !

waves to everyone else- have a good day x

zeis10 · 26/06/2015 11:45

Boxofholes welcome...50lbs..hats off to you! Star

Philomena Yaaaaayyyyy!!! Sp pleased for you Grin. How long did the weight not move for..a week? It's happening to me now, been the same weight since last Saturday I think, but cos of this thread and all the support, I have not panicked...pleased with myself. Smile

Ive just been working out my 'ideal weight' on a very flashy website.

This suggest for my age, height and gender I should be about 8st 2lbs. I was 10 st 10 when I started the exante diet and am now 10 st 1. I thought about 8st 10 would be idea .... I havent been 8 st since I was about 25 ....

boxofholes · 26/06/2015 13:29

thank you! Well done to all the losers :) it's a very encouraging thread!

I like 5:2 because it is easy to integrate into your life, it very quickly becomes a normal way of eating & is sustainable long term. I've had an awful lot of not great stuff going on though & need the morale boost of a chunk of fat gone fast!

I'm initially aiming for 62kg which is just under BMI 25 ... I think I'd like to get to 55kg eventually but am in no great hurry for that (52kg was my skinny young thing weight - I'm too old for that now Wink )

zeis10 · 26/06/2015 13:39

Lemonstartree, be whatever weight feels right to you..those charts can't really tell you how much you "should" weigh! Smile

OP posts:
lilacblossomtime · 26/06/2015 14:10

As long as you are a healthy bmi I think just go for what feels right as Zeis says, I would like to be a size 10 in my dreams most shops. Would love to wander in to any store and buy something in a 10Grin but I would be happy just to be at a healthy weight and feel healthy and energetic.

zeis10 · 27/06/2015 07:18

I am still the same weight for a week..this is a long time..before that it was nearly a 1lb every other day...really don't want to stop though. Have never stuck to an eating plan this long before. I feel like I may be thinner, but then I may be noticing weight that had already come off, as I was just getting used to that. What to do or think? It would be a landmark shift, as weight has gone up and down for years, but to be below this point, I would have to go back to 2007!1 Confused
