Needing to lose 4st+ - support thread!

Since I want somewhere to track my progress I'm gonna do it here and have it act as a support thread for anyone else who wants to join me - because it certainly feels daunting and we can use all the help we can get!

I am 5 foot nothing and post DS (almost 6 months) I weigh (as of this morning) 95.2kg which I believe is around 14.5stone, but I avoid using st and lbs as I find it triggering. I would like to be back down to my pre-baby weight of circa 80kg by BiL's wedding in June. So...

HippyJess
SW: 95.2kg
GW1: 80kg (June)
GW2: 68kg (September)
UGW: 58kg (March 2016)

Short Term Goal: Do Davina's 15 Minute Fit every day for a week, starting today. I did it, and some of the easy versions were hard :( which is why I need to keep going.

Hope someone out there will want to join me! Hoping to post once a day to keep myself on track :) now off I go to make myself an omelette and veggies for lunch!

Stellar I know what you mean about the Halloween treat bag - DP bought one for reasons best known to himself, as we're actually away this weekend so can't dish out to Trick or Treaters. Might have to take it into work to distribute among the masses. Hope you had a nice walk :)

Livvy cups of tea are the worst for sneaking sugar in - I'm lucky as i'm not really a fan of hot beverages so don't have the temptation.

Today i've managed to keep under 1200 kcals for the first time in over a week, woo! Is 8pm too early to go to bed so i'm not tempted to eat any more? :D

Dyrne · 28/10/2015 21:02

Just checking in - another day under 1200kcals, phew!

Dyrne, you am sure are in the mindset. Well done!

Well done Livvy.

I hope everyone else is okay. Flowers
I keep trying. Gutted kids room today to avoid snacking. Soup is so boring. I like to chew! Grin

Stellar67 · 30/10/2015 10:59

I've broken a barrier! It's not exciting and it's only a couple of pounds but I have been waiting to get them off properly for ages! Halloween Grin

Dyrne · 30/10/2015 11:11

Ah congratulations Stellar! Now you have to go find more housework to do to keep up the good work :p

Great work on the 2.5lbs, Livvy - that's a great effort in a week!

I but the bulletin and jumped on the scales today for the first time in ages, fully expecting a gain, but I must have done more exercise than I realised to combat the overeating - i've lost 0.7kgs in the last two weeks! Nice little boost :) Now to get properly back on it.

Dyrne · 30/10/2015 11:11

Oops, I bit the bullet, not the bulletin... Stupid autocorrect!

pippistrelle · 30/10/2015 12:59

Good work, Stellar, Livvy and Dyrne.

Still no change for me. But, in a way, I'm seeing that as a positive thing. I'm not
really
restricting what I'm eating, but I'm not really stuffing my face either (apart from a couple of unfortunate chocolate related incidents), so maybe this is what 'normal' people do. Who knows?

I'd still like to lose another half stone though so that I'd be comfortably no longer overweight, officially speaking, but, there are worse places to be stuck. And that's where I was for years, after all, so where I am now is not so bad.

Hope Vicki, Huffy and Brains check in soon. And other threadsters we haven't heard from for a while, of course.

Stellar67 · 31/10/2015 20:40

Thanks Dyrne and Pippi, and good to hear from you Pippi. I agree, hope to hear from Vicki, Huffy and Brains soon.
I walked and walked today. Between shops and guising. I'm pooped!
I am on my first very large wine. It's Saturday, and Halloween, and one child is asleep. I feel I've done my parental bit. Halloween Grin

LondonHuffyPuffy · 02/11/2015 14:43

Hello Everyone

Nice work, Stellar, Dyrne and Livvy! Smile

Sorry I've been so quiet. It's nice to be missed though! Hope brains, vicki and others are all ok

I haven't posted mainly because although I came back from holiday with good intentions and 2kg more to lose (the weight I put on) I have in fact been completely slack these past 3 weeks. Not really watching what I am eating, not tracking, doing tons less walking, drinking loads of Wine... I was feeling really negative and didn't want to ruin people's good vibes! I've been lurking though and am so impressed by where people are at. It's still really inspiring.

Here's the weird thing. I have lost 4.6kg in 3 weeks. Doing absolutely nothing Hmm

I have come to the conclusion that the amount of walking I did resulted in muscle mass, at least in my legs and bum. I look and feel much flabbier than I did before I went to the USA but I weigh 2kg less. I don't feel as good as I did then either.

So, am going back to the walking and healthy eating, trying to at least maintain this weight and to tone up. Am also going to pluck up the courage to go to some scary dance classes and use my home weights.

My original goal was 75kg/ size 14 by the end of October. I then amended that to 70kg by the end of October. I met the size 14 target but not the weight targets - I'm 76.4kg.

So, in short, I am giving up on the scales. Or at least trying to. I hadn't weighed myself for 2 weeks until this morning. I want to be a toned size 14. I know for many that is still seen as fat but I look ok. If I was less wobbly I would feel ok too.

Plus I bought 3 pairs of really nice US size 10 jeans in LA plus a Michael Kors skirt. I don't want to get too small for them Grin

I've just inhaled an entire Camembert that I cooked in oven.
I am cheese. Come back brains so we can share the addiction.
Other than that I've nothing to report. Lovely to "see" you huffy! Congrats on the driving test livvy I met with friends today, and learnt that the theory is quite hard these days. I never did the theory. #old

LondonHuffyPuffy · 02/11/2015 23:01

Mmmmmm cheeeeeeesssssse! I bloody love baked Camembert. I love all cheese. All of it.

Congrats on passing your driving test livvy! Great news. I too am old and didn't have to do the theory test. DH needs to sort his licence out and will have to do it. Is it hard?

vickibee · 03/11/2015 13:43

Hi everyone, sorry i have been AWOl, I have had a stinking cold for about three weeks now, I have gained two pounds in October and feel so cross with myself. I can make excuses and blame the cold but the reason is over eating. Crisp and choc have crept back in albeit not to the amounts I did before. Well done to those of you who are losing - I have completely lost my mojo and can't find it anywhere. Huffy I love cheese too, brie and bacon sandwiches...

Stellar67 · 03/11/2015 15:03

Aww Vicki I feel your pain re the stinking cold. I am so glad to have got rid. You have to look after yourself. Don't give yourself a hard time.
No more Camembert, obviously. And a good day here today. I've been busy. I'm on a meal prepping extravaganza, almost like hibernating! Only weighing once a week now. Hopefully will give me a boost.
Oh book which I am totally ignoring in favour of trashy magazine reading is called Beck Solution.

vickibee · 04/11/2015 10:19

I have been really organised today and made a healthy shepherds pie for this evening, it will just nees popping in the oven and some veggies boiling.
I have a meeting tonight about my son's (age 8) IEP - getting anxious as I think it may be confrontational but that is another story. At least we will be able to come home to a wholesome meal..
Right now I am at work - going to make a cuppa shortly and will resist the array of biscuits that are on offer in the kitchen, have a bowl of mixed olives for my mid morning sback

Stellar67 · 04/11/2015 15:57

Well done Vicki. I went to gym class then had a slip up and inhaled crisps. I think it's just what comes to hand. I need to prep a snack for after classes!
Good luck with IEP. I hope it isn't confrontational. It's never easy.

pippistrelle · 06/11/2015 11:50

Hope your meeting on Wednesday went well, Vicki. Good to see you posting.

I read that book recently, Stellar. Made lots of sense. But I haven't lost any weight since reading it.

I do have a non-scales victory to report. Today I am wearing size 10 trousers. They're a tiny bit muffin top, but my forgiving jumper hides that bit. I know that vanity sizing is involved, but given that I started out in vanity sized 16s, I'm happy. And to be honest, those 16s were carefully chosen super-vanity-sized because I have reduced my hips by 8 inches, so four sizes down. I just need my arms and my boobs to catch up with my butt now.

Stellar67 · 06/11/2015 15:50

Pippi well done on the NSV. Size 10, go you!

Brains!!!
That all made me drool! Grin well apart from your flappy arse Wink
If you stick at your weight over the festive I will be fucking jealous so pleased for you and willing you to spill your secrets.
I'm good. Booked 3 classes this week. One in error but I'm too tight to pay the fine for cancelling. All go.

thanks Pippi - the meeting was positive but i got the impression that the BS was well rehearsed, he is way behind in maths and we feel that he is not getting enough spport. we are paying for a private tutot but at £25 ph it is costly.
I lost half a pound this week which doesnt bgin to compensate for the 2Lb gain in Oct. Must do better. A colleague has brought some homemade toffee in and it is very hard to resist. Pippi I can only dream about a size ten you should be so :)

Stellar67 · 10/11/2015 13:10

I have banned any rich food from the house until Christmas. I am also going to start shopping online so I do not see the rich food. I know you can't do that because your fridge is already full of cheese.

I can empathise with your tiredness. I have only just got myself into a routine. It's so hard not to eat to stay awake. You have been brilliant getting to where you are now.

Class one down. I am procrastinating now cleaning now, rigorously. Am moving house in January and I should really have Channel Four round here while I weep over throwing out everything I have ever owned.
