Does anyone with 1-2st to lose fancy buddying up?

I'm 5ft 5 and am currently 10st 6lb. My clothes are feeling tight and I have stopped wearing jeans in favour of elasticated trousers which is a slippery slope for me.

To cut a long story short, I lost 3st after my twins were born 2.5 years ago. I felt a lot happier and more confident but it's beginning to creep back on as I lost the weight during my turbulent pregnancy so never had to address my bad eating habits. It's catching up with me now and I've put a stone back on and know if I don't address the problem now, it won't be long till the other 2+st is back.

I wondered whether anyone fancied buddying up and we can give each other a nudge, check in on how each other is doing?

How are we all doing? I have no scales and so nothing to report but I am still MFP and still running so hopefully I will see a drop when I decide to buy new batteries. For the first time I can really see the change too. I am over a stone down or at least I was a stone down but there is still one to go.

Beebs15 · 19/03/2015 22:52

I've dropped a pond! Woohoo. Not a huge amount but better than nothing. In finding so hard not to just inhale all food I my path whilst I'm breastfeeding

anothernumberone · 19/03/2015 22:58

Well done beebs great loss.

mamapants · 20/03/2015 08:57

Hi
Could I join Please?
My second child is 10 months old and I finally have enough energy to start exercising again.
I would like to lose a stone and get back down to 7 stone 10.
I have just started couch to 5k am shocked at how unfit I have become I am used to being fit enough to run 5k wiwithout any work but here I am on week one training plan.
I've also started a 30 day ab challenge to try and tone up the mummy tummy.
What is everyone finding effective?

anothernumberone · 20/03/2015 11:32

Hi mama pants welcome we are mostly using My FatnessSmile Pal and personally I am running shockingly slowly 3 + times per week.

LaFlottes · 20/03/2015 14:05

Hi All - may I also join in? I would like to get rid of 1.5 stone but just keep putting it off. I have started spinning twice a week and going to the gym twice a week but it doesn't seem to make a difference so think it's my diet. I don't eat too badly but do snack a lot as I work from home. Sugar is a downfall!

I am so confused about how to shift weight these days....less carbs/less sugar/just less food?!!

Thanks!

Thebewilderbeest · 21/03/2015 18:57

Welcome mama I am on couch to 5k to try to regain my fitness, it took a couple of weeks until I found my pace again but it has got easier, hang in there.

Hi laflotte, I think the general consensus now is that it's pretty much just calorie intake that matters, and essentially you just need to eat less energy than you burn! The jury is still out though and I'm sure plenty of people swear by low fat or low carbs etc.
I'm literally just calorie counting (1200 a day) and running 3 times a week. Also I don't drive so I walk everywhere, it all seems to be working for me!

9st 11! The lightest I have been for years Grin . The horrible stomach bug may have something to do with that though...

mamapants · 22/03/2015 10:06

Thanks another and wildebeest.
Have missed a run now. I have days where DP is at work all day so can't go for a run. Was going to try and do something in the house after kids went to bed instead but DS1 wasn't very well and I ended up having to go to bed with him.
Not sure what to do in the house anyway. Can't find any of my exercise dvds, was thinking of running round the living room but pretty sure that won't work

Thebewilderbeest · 27/03/2015 12:21

mama could you get an excersize bike? That would be something you could do at home.

Well so much for dumping the batteries from the weighing scales. I weighed myself today and I have lost nada, nothing not a thing. Lucky I tried on a size 10 skirt today and it fit, considering I am a 14 normally this was a really good thing. It was not a particularly nice skirt but it still took all my strength to leave it behind I might go back tomorrow and get it

FiloFunky · 27/03/2015 17:40

hello all. sorry ive not been about. been feeling glum and eating shite mostly... which improved my mood no end Hmm Hmm im going to weigh in tomorrow. im guessing i will be more than i started om this thread though

im at the hospital monday. cant concentrate on anything

sorry for the pity party. i need some motivation if anyone has any to spare?

anothernumberone · 27/03/2015 21:57

filo focus on what is important at the moment and don't be putting pressure on yourself. It is not a pity party it is real life and what is really important. We will be glad to have you back whenever you want. update us when things settle down because we will be thinking about you Monday.

HeffalumpsnWoozles · 28/03/2015 09:22

Hi Filo, I've done exactly the same & gained 2lb back in the last 2 weeks. I think if something is bothering you or you're upset the last thing you want to be worrying about is calorie counting.

I think we all have a rough idea of how much we are eating so can you stock up on healthy foods as well as enjoying a bit of junk to limit the damage if you aren't tracking every morsel. I hope your appointment goes well & you're soon fighting fit again Flowers

pickles184 · 28/03/2015 09:28

Am I too late to join? 5'8 and a shameful 83kg, need to get back to 65kg and struggling to stay motivated!

flanjabelle · 28/03/2015 09:41

Hi, can I join? I'm 5 foot 6 and already trying to lose weight. I started at 12stone8 12 days ago and am down to 12 stone 2 so far.

my goal is 10 stone at first and see how I feel.

I am using mfp and have completely changed my attitude towards food. I used to snack all through the day, eating high carb/ high sugar food to keep me going.

I have upped my protein and am eating tons of veg and really enjoying it actually!

I haven't started exercising yet, I have just been trying to sort my diet out, but plan to start swimming to tone up my mummy tummy.

It would be lovely to have some company with it all if you don't mind!

HeffalumpsnWoozles · 28/03/2015 10:36

Hi Pickles & Flanjabelle, it's never too late to join. Congrats on the loss so far Flanjabelle that's impressive! Pickles I've found it so much easier since there's a gang of us together. Despite my blip where life just got in the way, I feel a bit more accountable for any junk I eat as we post our results here so there's nowhere to hide. I did WW online & frequently went over points as there was nobody to report too as such.

Good luck to you both Smile

flanjabelle · 28/03/2015 12:47

Do you post about what you are eating too? It feels a bit nosy to read back through the thread as I wasn't a part of it then.

What are the biggest changes you have made? For me it's the snacking and takeaways. I used to get at least one takeaway a week and tbh it was all a comfort thing. I am going to save so much money I have decided to treat myself to a ceramic pan! Sounds sad I know, but I love cooking and ha be wanted one for ages.

HeffalumpsnWoozles · 28/03/2015 15:42

You can choose to either keep you diary private on MFP or share it so we can all have a nose. Ditto with the takeaways it was a Friday thing to celebrate the end of the working week, that and I cba to cook.

Biggest changes honestly are just less takeout, more veg & fruit & less bread. Not that it makes much difference as my carb intake is still really high but I've still lost 2 stone in total so far, 1 more to go.

flanjabelle · 28/03/2015 17:42

How do I share my mfp? I don't mind you having a nose!!

Wow heff, two stone is a huge achievement! How do you feel?

HeffalumpsnWoozles · 29/03/2015 08:21

If you go to your settings then into privacy settings it asks what info you want to share. I feel better not eating so much stodge, less bloated & find I have a bit more energy & my mood is better. My thighs no longer rub together which will be nice this summer Grin

I should have added a disclaimer that it took me 2 years to lose that 2st...I'd do well then eat what I wanted if it was a holiday/birthday/Christmas & instead of going straight back to eating well couldn't stop eating junk. All or nothing really.

HeffalumpsnWoozles · 29/03/2015 09:03

Weighed in this morning & lost 1 of the 2lb I gained, fingers crossed I stick with it. Good luck everyone with your results.

flanjabelle · 29/03/2015 09:09

I have changed it over to public, if you want to find me my mfp is linked to an old email adress and it says my username is rawkfairy666 (the old email). How would I find you on there? Sorry I haven't been using it long and haven't added anyone on there.

Lost .2 of a pound since yesterday.. better than nothing!

I really wanted a takeaway yesterday as I was knackered after dd being ill all week with an ear infection. I resisted the temptation and made tuna steak with stir fry veg. I was really proud of myself!

flanjabelle · 29/03/2015 09:10

Well done heffa!

HeffalumpsnWoozles · 29/03/2015 09:16

You're a better woman than me, if I'm knackered 9 times out of 10 I cave & order takeout. I've sent you a request on MFP if you scroll through the first few pages here they have lots of our MFP user names so you can add everyone.
