I will keep thinking of you takestwo - fingers crossed all will be well.
What part of the UK are you in marking - I've never heard of midwives coming out so much!!! When I had DD they were just doing up the local school. It had a sure start centre attached and the midwive had her own room there. Will have to wait and see what happens round my way now! Though even with DD I was allocated the one midwife, and I did have her for all of my regular check ups.
The past few days have been up and down. Stomach keeps bloating up and it is so uncomfortable! It blew up yesterday for hours, and all I had drunk was a chocolate ovaltine, and hadn't had a bite to eat!! It slowly got better throughout the day, and was better by the time I went to bed (mostly thanks to a BBQ dinner, that was basically meat, new potatoes and salad!!).
Not sure about going completely gluten free yet, but will definitely be reducing my gluten/wheat intake dramatically!!! I have just been adding things to the asda home shopping order, and am now dreaming of jacket potatoes and roasted vegtables......yummy!!
I have been looking into the Holford Diet the last few days. It's low GL rather than low carb, so its more about eating the right carbs (complex, slow to digest) instead of highly refined white carbs. I will do a little more reading into that one this week, but it sounds quite good to me so far. Normal food really, and cutting out all the processed food. It appeals to the organiser in me as you do have to count your carbs. I have tried slimming world before and didn't do too well with all the unlimited food. Was having far too much pasta etc!
Anyway, I hit upon the Holford/Low GL diet as it is recommended for PCOS sufferers. It really helps to level your blood sugars. At the very least I hope it will stop me feeling bloated or nauseaus (or both!!) all the time!!
Will see if eating the Low GL way helps me to get a better nights sleep as well. I'm not sure if my morning "hangover" is do to a bad diet, or perhaps I have a little sleep apnea or something?! Some mornings I wake up and feel like I have only had an hours sleep, when I've really had about 7! I didn't feel too bad this morning. In fact I woke at 6am for the loo, and struggled to get back to sleep as I had already had 6hours!
I too normally put this feeling down to a lack of sleep marking but when DD sleeps through the night and normally wakes about 8am I shouldn't really be feeling like this!!
We started potty-trainer last Sunday marking and DD is doing really well so far. Today she did 6 pees on the potty, and no accidents! Most importantly, she sat on the potty this morning completely unprompted, and this afternoon she ran in to the kitchen to tell me "mummy, pee pee time" so that I could help her with her knickers!!
proud mummy moment lol
6lb loss since when marking?? Not ideal if you are pregnant lol, but weight loss is often expected in first trimester.....especially when you are ill!!
