This is going to be the year I finally lose weight

My youngest child is 2 and I'm not having anymore so I need to sort myself out. I am 5ft 4 and weigh 11st 9lbs (I was 11 st 2 at the beginning of December). I want to be 9st 4lbs but would be happy to be in the healthy BMI range so anything below 10st 6lbs.
I have discovered fitness blender on YouTube/Facebook so plan on trying to do one of their videos 5 days a week. Food wise I need to cut the crap so no biscuits/crisps/chocolate . I will try to eat tea with the children, normally we put them to bed and then eat afterwards which means we are not eating until 8pm and then I won't exercise.
I'm envisaging
Breakfast - overnight oats or omelette cupcakes
Lunch - ham/chicken salad, soup or omelette
Dinner - chicken/fish with veg
I will try not to snack but if I do then I will snack on carrot sticks/rice cakes and houmous.
I know I need to up my water intake and reduce the wine so will be doing dry January.
My husband wants to get healthy too which makes me hopeful that this will be the year it happens!
Anybody else want to join me?

Zing that is the DVD I am doing atm! (Well not literally atm but y'know, regularly!) it's fsb- 20 mins, just enough to feel you're doing something and I love her Grin

Having said that- I am doing it 4-5 days a week not every day. And I only bloody slept in this morning so I need to do some extra high jumping jacks in the morning!

Mousecull is underway. I am sorry if that upsets any sensibilities- I tried the live and let live attitude when they were in the attic and the bastards went for the crisps. So now it's war....

AppleSnapple · 15/01/2015 23:49

PS ifyoubuildit nice new name! I haven't been doing as well this week I don't think. Difficult 2nd week as you say. But good to not give up- thinking of the big picture and how I'll feel in summer a stone or 2 lighter!!

SmellyFartado · 16/01/2015 18:13

5lbs off for me this week which I'm delighted about. Is week 1 though so not expecting this every week.

mFP is bloody brilliant. Am logging everything and is keeping me focused. Plus it's not costing a weekly weigh in.

Good luck everyone.

Donthackmenow · 16/01/2015 19:20

I have had a hell of a week. Ds has chicken pox, dh has been in hospital, mil has been here since Monday (staying til Sunday) and it is birthday party for dd on Sunday. Diet and exercise have gone out the window but I have stuck to dry January. I am not looking forward to the scales on Monday!

Oh no, sorry to hear that donthack, hope DS and DH on the mend! I will be weighing in with trepidation tomorrow, but so long as I havent regained any of previous weeks losses, I'm still winning....!!!

GertrudePerkins · 19/01/2015 09:28

morning folks
congrats to Smelly on the 5lb loss - what a great start.
commiserations to all having rubbish weeks for whatever reason

last week 12st 0
this week 11st13

running total -3lbs.

slow and steady wins the race, eh Grin?

ZingTheGreat · 19/01/2015 10:17

I weighed today and have stayed the same.

I take that as a victory!Grin

will try and sleep more this week, I know I'm mentally stronger if not exhausted.

AppleSnapple · 19/01/2015 22:53

Me too zing, zero loss (but zero gain!) but disappointed but I know full well where I went wrong last week- I'm upping my exercise and counting calories but I don't count the nibbling/grazing/snacking I do when I make the dc's tea, for example and I don't add my skinny lattes etc which are all calorific so... Better discipline this week! It's just that 1200 calories is tough!!!! Good luck all

somethingintheway · 20/01/2015 07:22

Hi all :) forgot to post last week , lost 1lb , so 9lb off in total . Weigh in tomorrow . Still doing 1200 cals a day and walking more. At weekends I eat more and have a drink . Feel better in myself too. Keep going everybody !

somethingintheway · 21/01/2015 11:23

Me again ! Lost 3lb since last week so 12lb off in total now :) looking forward to losing my first stone!

AlwaysWashing · 21/01/2015 20:24

Well DH and I have been 5:2ing for 3 weeks now, eating clean, reduced portions/carbs and more exercise and doing well. DH has lost 10lb and I've lost 11. We joined the gym today and loved it!
We've been walking at least every other day but needed to up the exercise now.
We've had a few bits of chocolate here and there but it's been quite controlled rather than the usual diet binge.
This is the longest I've ever stuck to a "diet" and I think it's because it's not really a diet and more a lifestyle change. Grin
Keep at it everyone Grin

AppleSnapple · 21/01/2015 23:49

Always, and something... Amazing!! Inspirational the pair of you! Well done both

Ifyoubuildittheywillcome · 25/01/2015 23:34

Ladies, we've all gone very quiet! I won't lie, my silence is in shame because I am really struggling. I start well and then by the time I have an insane day at work, rush to pick up the littlies and give them a light tea, I have munched through half a pack of biscuits/a pancake with butter/cheese and crackers or all of those. I need to stop it...
So, net loss for me is SFA but hey, at least I am not up and I am certainly not out.
Hope everyone is well, come back and inspire me!

AppleSnapple · 26/01/2015 09:43

Arghhhhhhh weigh in and NO weigh loss! Frustrating- am exercising 3-4 times a week, and I thought I was being good with diet- no bread, minimal alcohol, etc... I think I need to follow a more formal diet approach- I am so disappointed! Sorry you've fallen off the wagon IfYou but you're back on again, that's what counts!

Resolutions for this week-
Log EVERYTHING in mfp (including nibbles from the dc's dinner when cooking!)
Move even more!

Harrumph.

ZingTheGreat · 26/01/2015 09:52

ifyou

i was thinking the same. very quiet.

I'm still in bed as had a bad night after a horrible day (migraine & cold) yesterday, again, but about to weigh.

I haven't been good or bad last week just ate when i wanted but I found myself getting back in "crafting saddle" again, which means I'm too busy to eat or think about food.

I have so many projects already and just added another umm 50 million billion...Grin

GertrudePerkins · 26/01/2015 11:49

no loss this week - still 11st13

no surprise either. it was DH's birthday, and we all went to a diner type place, where the healthiest thing on the menu was probably the deep-fried mac and cheese balls. Lots of birthday cake too.

I am back on it with a vengance today though.

ZingTheGreat · 26/01/2015 14:52

i lost half a pound. hahaha!Grin

no idea how it happened, had the best brownies yesterday at a party and some more for breakfast today

i was so busy sorting fabrics i forgot to ate lunch. not good!

Ifyoubuildittheywillcome · 27/01/2015 01:13

Apple I am also logging food this week, it definitely helps. I was much better today.
Zing hope your migraine has gone, I get them too, awful and I think they can be a result of changing diet sometimes along with all the other weird and wonderful triggers. Well done on half pound.
Gertrude, hope birthday was fun and great to stay same and celebrate too.
Ladies, Hairy Bikers Chicken Korma is amazing, as good if not better than takeaway with waaaaay less calories. I had it with salad instead of rice, nicely filling.

AppleSnapple · 27/01/2015 12:16

Hmmm I must buy one of those hairy biker books ifyou - it'd be good to have some new recipes, and something healthy too! Thanks for tip. Off to Amazon to search! Smile it's a new week and the challenge is on. I don't mind not losing every week, I think a pound of 2 is sensible but it's hard not to get dispirited when you think you're doing ok and no weight loss. Sometimes I thjnk I look quite ok and then think- how can I, I must be enormous if I weigh 12 stone... And how good would I feel with even one stone off! Must keep up the momentum. Thanks all, keep it up and good luck for the week ahead!

Ifyoubuildittheywillcome · 28/01/2015 06:46

Had upset stomach yesterday. Two pounds off! Must not eat today to try and keep it off.
apple, am sure you do look ok! it will be going from fine to fabulous!

somethingintheway · 28/01/2015 11:05

Stayed the same this week , been rubbish over the weekend though. Will make more of an effort this week.

Weigh in day... Another 1.5 lb lost... Slow and steady, that's me!! Im quite happy with that, away for half the week coming with friends though so may have some re-gain,.. Will wait and see!

How's everyone else doing?

AppleSnapple · 03/02/2015 22:04

Very quiet here... Has everyone gone?!

ZingTheGreat · 05/02/2015 07:58

seems like itGrin

It's been over a week that I've got a rotten cold.
so does BabyZing & ZingGirl and ZingLad is really unwell, probably tonsillitis so taking him to GP today

I don't feel like eating, but necking hot tea with honey all the time (and hot choc with biscuits coz I need treats)

Haven't weighed for a while but I'm probably the same or maybe another half a pound less.

I can't wait to get better so I can focus..
oh and although for me drinking lots of water is one of the best way to aid weight loss, I find it impossible to drink water when it's this cold.

how are you doing apple ?
