Anyone else need to lose weight for their wedding?

I need to lose at least 2 stone by June.

Tbh I haven't done too bad over Christmas and haven't gained afaik? avoided scales.

I'm 5ft 8 and weigh just over 13 stone. Am a size 14. My stomach is my worst area, legs and arms are fine as are boobs.

I only want to get to a size 12 as don't look so good as a 10. I used to be really skinny when younger and hated it.

Anyone else need to lose weight for their wedding? I'm not even looking at dresses yet until I lose some.

Thanks Dowser- Never thought of making my own nakd bars- will try it and work out the cals! Do I need a food processer?

Have tried WW filling and healthy plan before- Great meal and snack ideas but as your not counting points or calories I found myself overeating on the unlimited list.

Todays menu-
1 wholemeal toast with 2 scrambled eggs.
Tuna Mayo Salad, Grapes, Handful nuts/raisins
Chicken & Veg Stirfry, Soya yoghurt & sugar free jelly.

Dowser · 08/01/2015 12:33

Hi got red. I literally just looked at the packet and the ingredients are there in the quantities used. I should imagine they are very calorific. Dates and nuts!!!

I did put raisins in as well as dates but you don't need them . If dates are less calorific than nuts I would try more dates . I don't know where cocoa powder is in the scheme of things. I only have orange essential oil not chocolate.

Yes you do need a food processor. But you can make bite size pieces if you make your own.

Lovely dress!

Hmmm...today is supposed to be a fast day but a friend has phoned and said he wants us to go out for dinner?
Do I

A) go for dinner but starve til then and try and eat under 500 calories and then nothing else so I still keep it a fast day?
B) accept that I will be missing one fast this week, go and still try and be vaguely healthy?
C) go, be healthy and then do two fast days back to back Friday and Saturday to catch up?

Confused
LowCarbHeaven · 08/01/2015 12:36

Thank you for all the nice comments about my dress. One of my bridal party thought it was too 'busy' whatever that means! But I love it so that's all the matters! It doesn't arrive in the wedding shop for another month though.

I have lost 17 pounds so far so I am doing okay. I guess it's easy to get impatient with it as I am annoyed at myself for not starting sooner. I am doing the couch to 5k programme. Mostly, on my treadmill as I am not brave enough to run outside!

I know what you mean about porridge, whenever I measure out 50g and make it with coconut milk, it makes a massive bowl! I have it with some honey though.

I am full of the cold so no exercise for me today.

Breakfast- Banana (Any tips on getting myself to enjoy breakfast? Really have to force myself to have something!)

Lunch - 2 Crackerbread with tomato on top and a apple

Dinner- Probably chicken salad

Dowser · 08/01/2015 12:45

Just did a Mfp on 200g dates over 500 cals and 100g Brazil's about 600 cals.

Somehow I don't think illbe making those 300 g isn't a huge quantity and that's without the cocoa powder which 50g is about 160 cals.

I'm not sure how many that would make. I usually use 500g of dates and about 300 g nuts and get a tray full abit bigger than a big iPad.

I'll stick to my Ferraro Roche till they've gone then start on the chocolate marzipan.

Dowser · 08/01/2015 12:53

That doesn't seem anywhere near enough food low carb at a guess that's only about 700 to 800 cals and I feel like I over estimating.

Can you make a banana smoothie with some milk and a few other fruits.

I think hounded a 300 cal breakfast. A 300 cal lunch and 600 for evening .

You've got no protein in there for lunch. Why not have chicken salad at lunchtime and a lean grilled chop with a couple of boiled potatoes and steamedveg.

You might be losing fat or you mightbe losing muscle if you go too low.

Dowser · 08/01/2015 12:56

Sorry for all the typos. Should read around a 300 cal breakfast

And a lean grilled pork chop.

SoonToBeMrsB · 08/01/2015 12:59

LCH I'd be gnawing on my desk if that was my meal plan, is there nothing else you can have?

Dowser · 08/01/2015 13:09

Ive done a mfp on your menu for today Lowcarb and I getting around the 600 cal mark.

That's nowhere near enough food for a healthy adult. I think you need to double it.

Our bodies are like engines without decent fuel they will eventually just shut down

That's starvation mode. Have you not got any SW books that you study to see what sort of daily menu they suggest.

Dowser · 08/01/2015 13:11

I'm glad I'm not the only one thinking like that mrs b . I didn't want to come across as harsh, just concerned.

We don't want to lose anyone :-(

Dowser · 08/01/2015 13:16

Here you go look

Slimming world on line gives you 7 days of menus. I'm tempted to do that myself. I did SW years ago. Lost two stone and have never put it all back on because I learnt better eating habits. I lost 2 lbs on average every week and I felt really well when doin it.

FreakinScaryCaaw · 08/01/2015 15:46

Well the meeting at the pub went well. Really looking forward to the party. I've decided to put bunting and fairy lights up (well landlady said they'll do it for me) and something on the tables. We can have the function room from lunchtime to set up tables.

I had lunch in the pub today, roast beef dinner. Tonight I'll just have soup though.

5madthings, might be just us two in the facebook group? Grin

I knew I shouldn't have done it!

Got measured that is. What a kick back. How the hell do I get into a size 12 dress

Because its really a 16 that's how!

LowCarbHeaven · 08/01/2015 16:41

Yes I use MFP. It is very helpful! I am just not very hungry today as I am full of the cold, bad headache etc.

I have been to WW before and didn't like it. Never looked into SW tho. Sounds complicated to me haha! I don't like to weigh and measure things that much. I usually try and stick to paleo but haven't been sticking to that this week because I feel miserable lol!

Dowser · 08/01/2015 18:57

SW isnt complicated. I think when you get a rough idea of what is what you can then create some lovely filling meals.

GingerSkin · 08/01/2015 19:28

Glad the meeting in the pub went well freakin Sounds like you've had a good day overall with good etc.

Not sure if I'm up for the FB group, I like the anonymity at the moment. I know too many people and with my job so I'd be scared I know some of you

B - oatcakes with cheddar cheese
L - home made roasted pepper soup (small cup) and a clementine
D - chicken fajita mix (3 peppers and 1 onion) without the fajita wrap Sad and a large salad with watercress and tomatoes on the vibe.
Snacks - turkey breast (small pieces) with salad cream this morning and nik nak crisps this afternoon #fail

No exercise tonight, night off. But will do the plank for 3 minutes later.

Shattered today. Felt hungry and in need of food from about 11am and my lunch just had no calories at all, hence the crisps.

Cheat day on Saturday, can't wait. I've lost weight already, I can tell on my waist

dancingwitch · 08/01/2015 21:48

In case it helps anyone else, I picked up some food scales in Sainsbury yesterday as I currently have an old fashioned dial/bowl one which 4yo struggles with. The new ones are fab. Just a short thin slab which I've tucked behind the chopping boards, you can put any old pot or dish on it & you can zero it at the touch of a button. I have got so much better at weighing my food as I no longer have to get the scales & bowl out, try & work out if it is closer to 20g or 40g , adjust the scales & then wash the bowl. With my porridge earlier, I just put the saucepan on the scales & then added the oats; when cooking earlier, I put the tub of creme fraiche on the scales and stopped taking any more out once I'd removed 75g.

Arriving at my calorie count by skin of my teeth.

Everything going great.( apart from stupidly measuring myself)

B...the usual...omelette with onion

L ... The usual...green juice
........I ladle full of green soup with ham and lentil...to taste

1 Ferraro Roche

Then, because we live in the real world, we get an invite to daughters to have an Indian.

So, it's decided OH would take one for the team and I would have the remainder of last nights shepherds pie,
Anyhow, we get round and it's steak on the menu. Great big, sole your boots size pieces with potatoes and roasted veg.

So, that's not too bad. 600 calories left. It's doable and I so I get stuck in and leave most of the cubed roast potatoes.

Thinking I'd dodged a bullet and then the gin and tonic came out. I'm not really a drinker, but yes I signed up for a g and t. Quick check Mfp, phew think I might just squeeze in past the finish line.

Then my granddaughter handed me a piece of choc orange and I ate it.

So possibly a few over. I don't know but yes it's a lot harder in the real world.

Dowser · 08/01/2015 22:10

Never heard of it. Do you have to buy products?

Dowser · 08/01/2015 22:12

£130 at amazon. That's definitely not for me.

I do healthy eating with real food and I take certain supplements.

Glad it worked for you though ;-)

MsVanRein · 08/01/2015 22:26

Dowser you've put me in the mood for a g&t!

Breakfast - whole grain toast with peanut butter and manuka honey. I prefer porridge/eggs etc for breakfast but have been so disorganised last few days!

L - Blt and an orange

D - homemade tomato soup

Bit heavy on the bread today but in under my calories so happy enough will do better tomorrow!

GingerSkin · 08/01/2015 22:51

What did samria put??

Lj8893 · 08/01/2015 23:18

Late checking in today as been at college all day and then doing coursework this evening. Kill me now.

anyway today i missed breakfast as was running really late, naughty i know and i was starving by lunchtime!

L - salad with slice of roasted veg quiche (not low fat but the best thing on the college menu!)

D - gammon with 1 fried egg (fried in 1 cal spray) and steamed veg

i really need to try and fit in some exercise, im moving house next month so once ive moved and got back into a routine i will slot something regular in.

Dowser · 08/01/2015 23:25

I think she was advertising a weight loss system that you substitute meals with .

Won't mention it as it might not go down well.

I'm sure if we want to use something like this we can google all the different ones.

Right I'm going to haul my huge fat harse off this sofa and get ready for bed

As in the words of Scarlett o hara in gone with the wind

Tomorrow is another day!
