Anyone else need to lose weight for their wedding?

FreakinScaryCaaw · 29/12/2014 14:10

I need to lose at least 2 stone by June.

Tbh I haven't done too bad over Christmas and haven't gained afaik? avoided scales.

I'm 5ft 8 and weigh just over 13 stone. Am a size 14. My stomach is my worst area, legs and arms are fine as are boobs.

I only want to get to a size 12 as don't look so good as a 10. I used to be really skinny when younger and hated it.

Anyone else need to lose weight for their wedding? I'm not even looking at dresses yet until I lose some.

Ginger what's the recipe for your red pepper soup? That sounds delicious. I had a carrot & coconut soup at a NT place recently and it was amazing so I need to figure out a recipe for that.
Dowser - what are the specifics of your recipe for your Nak'd bars?
5mad - I'm getting married the day after you. Or the day after that. We haven't actually decided yet. We're only having 10 people (including the 2 DC) to the wedding so we've told them to keep both days free until we've figured out where to get married.

MsVanRein · 07/01/2015 22:03

SantasFavouriteHo - good idea thanks. Will check out davina's 5madthings! I try to do pilates every morning and weights 3 times a week but definitely need to add in more cardio.

Today I ate :
1 piece gf wholemeal with peanut butter
Large carrot, cucumber and ginger smoothie
Beef burger, no bun with side salad and sweet potato wedges

Working tomorrow so my challenge will be keeping away from snacks when I'm rushing about!

ByeByeButterfly · 07/01/2015 22:04

Yes.
6ft and 11 and a half stone need to lose around 2 stone too.
Wedding is in August.

Dowser · 07/01/2015 22:22

We have 21 brides so far, unless I've missed anyone out for which I apologise and I also apologise if I've got anyone's details wrong. I'm sure others will want to join and that's ok too.

We are all supporting each other which is great and I also suggest we get behind the fist bride and so on down the list. What does everyone think.

Dieting is bloody hard work and there's just too much temptation and it doesn't matter how strong your willpower is...we are all human

Anyway here it is. Maybe monthly updates...someone suggested a spreadsheet, sounds like a great idea.

Evening all.
Great summary of everyone Dowser I've put it on a spreadsheet as I'm really sad and love spreadsheets. Although I've had to google formulas to convert stones / pounds etc. Then come to upload it and it won't let me. I've managed to convert it to a JPEG so I can at least upload a picture of it.

See attached and see what you think.

Ok day for me, made up for some of my cheats at the Gym tonight:

B - Scrambled egg and 2 slices of ham
L - left over home made curry sauce from last night (veg mainly) as a soup, with 2 proper staffordshire oatcakes
D - lamb with watercress, roasted tomatoes and a baked sweet potato
Snacks - quarter of piece of white toast off DD's plate this morning Blush and a chicken nugget she left tonight too.
Exercise - gym, 8 minute rower, 16 min bike, 15 min cross trainer and stomach crunch weights.

I'm not really a recipe kind of person, so it is a bit laid back in it's approach Grin Deseed 4 peppers and cut in half. Place on baking tray. Add garlic gloves x 2. Add tomato from tins in each half, or passatta, or tomato paste. Drizzle with olive oil, salt and pepper and balsamic and paprika. Bake for 25 min on 180c (fan). Blend with water from the roast tin that you baked them in. The other day I didn't add stock cubes and it tasted fine, last week there was extra veg in there from the fridge and stock, and it also tasted fine.

I think with soup, you can add bits in. I put too much garlic in the other day (4 cloves!)

SantasFavouriteHo · 07/01/2015 23:31

For the spreadsheet, I'm aiming at a 3-ish stone loss
However, I am very! fat, most of you are a weight I'd kill to be at!

FreakinScaryCaaw · 08/01/2015 00:14

Great spreadsheet Ginger.

I'm finding the more active I am the more I want to be active. Just hope it lasts.

I just found in with this thread. I am still 3 stone away from my goal weight and my wedding is May 3rd Hmm. I have been eating really well but trying to not let myself get disheartened at how much I still have to lose when there isn't long left.

Loving all the dress pictures! This is my one but I actually think the lace is much more delicate looking in real life!

davidtuteraformoncheri.com/wedding-dresses/213253/

Cocoaone · 08/01/2015 07:29

LCH - that dress is beautiful. I don't think the lace looks too much in that picture at all. The 'official' picture of my dress is awful, I never would have looked at it based in the picture! Glad I saw it in the flesh first.

Bad day yesterday. Only slightly over cals but food choices were not good - combination of being tired, hungry and work stress.

B - ham and mango (bloody Christmas ham is finally finished!)
L - small chicken salad. Still starving - vending machine option only at work, so crinkly crisps and maltesers
D - small Costa flat white, 3 wafer biscuits, clementine
Snacks - banana and 4 small choccy bics.

Have failed to prepare (see:work stress) so have no food in to take to work today. Which means either canteen or a trip to sainsburys at lunch. Will aim to get a filling thick soup!

Thank you for the spreadsheets Dowser and Ginger! Flowers

FreakinScaryCaaw · 08/01/2015 08:19

Lowcarbheaven's dress. It's beautiful. Welcome to the thread.

LCH what are you doing to try to lose the weight? Are you getting any support? I'm doing it with dp so we support each other. Plus this thread is helping.

B today is coffee, strawberries and a banana.
L will be in the pub where we're having our party. Going in to pay the deposit.

Dowser · 08/01/2015 08:21

Welcome low carb heaven. Don't be disheartened you've still got 3-4 months at just two pounds a week there's 32 lbs or nearly 2.5 stones.

In fact you're in the best time and you've allowed yourself enough time. I have time to lose it and put it back on as we travel around a lot from feb onwards.

So don't panic you're going to be fine. Just focus on the task ahead. Try to plan your food a couple of days ahead so you're not caught short. I find Mfp helpful initially just to see how many calories are in food.

We cook from scratch as our emphasis is on healthy eating anyway.

If you get to your last two weeks and you haven't lost as much as you wanted, you can always do wheatbelly anyway.

Dowser · 08/01/2015 08:25

Wow that's a killer dress Lowcarb. Just beautiful.

FreakinScaryCaaw · 08/01/2015 08:28

Cocoane soup is fantastic, remember to get blended Wink

I've got loads of veg in so will make soup for dinner tonight. Am thinking this one? I have a nice cauliflower in.

I forgot beetroot juice, had a small glass of that morning too. It tastes quite nice. Am hoping it'll help energy levels?

Wow, stunning dress LCH!

Well, my petticoat was held hostage at customs - I had to phone Parcelforce first thing this morning and pay the £19.82 ransom Hmm it's being delivered tomorrow though, serves me right for being picky and ordering more stuff from the States!

Menu for today looks like this:

B: Shredded Wheat with skimmed milk and chopped banana, coffee

L: Spicy chicken salad, carrot sticks with houmous, mango chunks, yoghurt

D: Pork stir fry with noodles, yoghurt for dessert

S: Apple, banana, grapes

E: 1hr bootcamp class

dancingwitch · 08/01/2015 11:24

I had porridge made with hazelnut milk today. It was a very hazelnutty experience! It wasn't until I was eating it that I realise hazelnuts and hazelnut flavoured things come in small quantities rather than a massive bowl! And it was a massive bowl as I made it up according to the instructions on the oats & that allowed for 50g of oats! I think my breakfast was 400 cal alone & it sat like lead in my stomach for the first two hours & now I'm ravenous. I'm sure the whole thing about porridge being filling is a myth.
I now have an interim goal as I have a funeral to go to in 10 days time (very elderly relative) & only have one funeral appropriate outfit which I definitely can't fit into at the moment.

Dowser · 08/01/2015 12:16

Beetroot juice is good to lower high blood pressure. Probably need to drink a couple of glasses a day though to notice the effect.

That sounds like a good menu mrs B.

I wandered into the Alizonne thread. Wow. Scary stuff . It works obviously but I couldn't do it but can understand people with a lot to lose going for this option. Very expensive though . £1000 a month l I couldn't afford it. No way and I like real food and I notice one woman backed out when she saw all the artificial sweeteners in it and the effect it had on her body. Constant diarrhoea for the first couple of days she did it . People did lose weight though and quickly. It should be available on the nhs as a alternative to gastric bands.

Now for the good and bad news.

I think my legs look a bit thinner.

Now for the bad...I measured myself . Hmmm wasn't impressed.

Won't do that too often.

OH who has enviously slim hips are only two inches smaller than mine.

Then we had the argument of where the waist is. I say it's about 5 ins above the belly button while he said no it was on his belly button. Whatever! I fell about laughing when they both measured the same anyway.....on him ;-)

5madthings · 08/01/2015 12:18

I am on fb, will pm later,am out and on phone with dodgy 3g signal.

Dowser · 08/01/2015 12:20

I've just ordered some ketosis to check if I'm I ketosis. Learnt that from alizonne thread.

SoonToBeMrsB · 08/01/2015 12:21

I think your "natural waist" is above the belly button but you're supposed to measure around the belly button? That's what I do anyway!

Dowser · 08/01/2015 12:21

Oh bum! Ketostix.

I think with a carb meal you do get that spike which is why I have a protein breakfast.
