Anyone else need to lose weight for their wedding?

FreakinScaryCaaw · 29/12/2014 14:10

I need to lose at least 2 stone by June.

Tbh I haven't done too bad over Christmas and haven't gained afaik? avoided scales.

I'm 5ft 8 and weigh just over 13 stone. Am a size 14. My stomach is my worst area, legs and arms are fine as are boobs.

I only want to get to a size 12 as don't look so good as a 10. I used to be really skinny when younger and hated it.

Anyone else need to lose weight for their wedding? I'm not even looking at dresses yet until I lose some.

Off on a three week break.

Anything could happen ;-) or is that:-(

Will log in when I can.

Hope to hear of some good weight losses when I get back.

No pressure there then.

To be honest. You won't know I'm gone . There's plenty of free wifi.

Hoping to do some long walks and get rid of ome hip fat .

Dancingwitch · 27/02/2015 09:59

Soon - I like the idea of splitting it. It isn't as if you're getting married one day & then going straight back to work & normality the next. You will still be in NYC.

Go - yes, I'm the same. Really proud of losing 3 stone & of how "thin" I am and then I realise I am still only just in a healthy weight range. I need to lose more not just to look better but for my health.

Dowser - have a good trip

FSC - I hope you feel better soon. At least it has probably helped with the weight loss!

Mad - how are you?

My cake bowl locking session on Weds night had an upside in that I wasn't hungry for breakfast yesterday so went straight through to lunch when I had a couple of granary rolls and low fat cottage cheese followed by an apple. Supper was chicken casserole with huge amounts of veg & some rice. I then shredded for the first time since Sunday & really enjoyed it.
I woke up starving this morning so was really disappointed to remember it was a fast day but have managed to avoid food so far. Only 2.5 hours until lunch...

SoonToBeMrsB · 27/02/2015 12:39

Afternoon ladies, I've been in a discussion forum all morning and managed to avoid the free biscuits! I'm still on-plan and feeling okay:

B: One slice wholemeal toast with beans, coffee

L: Ham and lentil soup, Nakd bar, 2x clementines, yoghurt

D: River cobbler with potatoes dauphinoise (SW friendly recipe) and veg

S: Mango chunks, small banana before bootcamp

I'm not sure when I'll get away from here tonight as we are hosting a reception for something that isn't really my area but I still need to show face. We're setting up from 4, it starts at 5 and I'm really hoping to get away for the 5.50pm bootcamp class but I'm not sure how likely that is Sad

Boleh · 27/02/2015 19:27

getred yes - I hsve exactly the same issue, I'm starting to look pretty happy with the way I look clothed then I have a shock at how I look in a bikini! It makes it far to tempting to relax during the week. I'm trying to look in the mirror when I'm in my underwear getting dressed in the morning and try to stay on track that way. My wedding dress is quite tight across my tummy so it needs to be flat!
MrsB Our wedding is in the summer and we are taking a few days off to spend with people who've travelled a long way to see us so our honeymoon won't be until New Year when we can include a couple of bank holidays and the weather is right where we want to go.
FSC hope you are feeling better now

Boleh · 27/02/2015 19:29

Oh and I've been successful with food the last few days but less successful with exercise, various sessions cancelled and staying at work too late for others.
I'm now getting a nasty cold/chest infection that means I can't sleep - it's 3am here, boo!
Must not resort to food...

Dowser · 27/02/2015 19:56

Got here at 3 pm. Had a large g and t in the sunshine . Went to apartment and unpacked and then ended up at an impromptu party on a balcony with a group of swedes.

Two glasses of champers later, ( not bad for someone who doesn't drink btw)

I've, no we've just made mincemeat of a three course meal.

We are at the restaurant where we will be having our reception. They are so sweet, they've even given me the code for next doors wifi!

Ooops!

Anyway all good, if rather off plan.

We are talking about having a little walk. It's a bit draughty out there now though.

All good. I think we're having fun. I know I am anyway ;-)

FreakinScaryCaaw · 27/02/2015 20:50

I'm a fair bit better today. Managed our day out with dgs. Went to Seaton Carew to the chippy then for a walk, after that the indoor play area.

I've eaten ok. Beans on toast for breakfast. Lunch fish bites and chips but a small portion. Half a carton of chicken soup for dinner. No snacks.

I'm working all weekend so will be active. I just hope I feeling fitter tomorrow?

Keep it up everyone.

Have I missed something or has no one posted since FSC on Friday night? Dowser - I can tell you're on holiday!

Annoyingly, I weighed in at 10st 4 this morning despite feeling super skinny. It is amazing what effect the Shred has. I am on day 7 of level 1 now and am finding it quite easy. I have two Davina DVDs on order so may start mixing it up a bit.

Foodwise it was an OK day.

B - one Weetabix & a banana
L - smaller-than-I-would-normally-have portion of lasagne with salad & no garlic bread
S - chicken kiev & peas, no carbs
Snacks - an apple, various scrapings of mixing bowls.

FreakinScaryCaaw · 28/02/2015 23:24

Nope just me and you at the moment Dancingwitch Grin

Worked 13 hours today. Power walked for 2 hours. Ate well. Few nuts for breakfast. Pork with homemade apple sauce (no added sugar) for lunch. Subway steak salad for dinner. No snacks. Coffee, tea and water to drink.

Am off to bed now as another 13 to do tomorrow.

Where have you all gone. Couldn't log on at all yesterday. Thought there would have been loads of posts. All the cafes we stopped at didn't have Internet.
Had a good long walk yesterday, about 3.5 miles ...well a ramble in parts with a bit of shopping interspaced but more active than have been for months.got chilly as the sun was setting, legs were freezing. Got Barack to apartment about 7-30 and got under the duvet to warm them up and then struggled to stay awake.

Went for a therapy in the afternoon and that always knocks me for six.

Tonight we might even go out..

Trying to stay on the straight and narrow it not easy on holiday.

All I can say is if you're reaching for the crisps, chocs, booze, cake etc. dont! You won't have regret it when you are having your wedding/ holiday and you're not where you want to be because I am regretting I had nt been stricter in the two months before I came away. My stomach is immense. OH says I'm not drinking enough water so body holds onto fluid. Maybe. But there's the fat arms etc. this could be my wedding day and if the dress was close fitting, I wouldn't fit it.

Shan't let it spoil my holiday but it just feels like someone tied a water sack to my abdomen.

Oh well, make some good choices today and I'm definitely going to.

FreakinScaryCaaw · 01/03/2015 16:02

Good luck today Dowser.

I didn't end up going into work as felt so weak and hadn't slept. I'm not one for taking much time off so won't get into trouble. The senior on the phone said she thought I looked ill when she saw me. Perhaps I overdid it a bit and it knocked me back?

Anyway my appetite is still here but it was a healthy lunch. Dp made chicken with mexican rub, creamed swede, cauliflower cheese and mushy peas. I did the roast sweet potatoes. Am full now Smile

I won't be exercising as I don't have a lot of energy. But tomorrow is another day.

Good luck all of you (wherever you are!) Grin

Oh dear. Whatever it is you've had it bad Fsc. Walked In to Los Cris today. Still inmy sundress and it's ffff freezing. Well actually am wearing cardigan but legs are cold. Just having a drink in the bar under our apartment. We are on the fifth floor but we can hear people talking. It's not so bad. It's quite a quiet area.

Tomorrow back for another therapy. Havent done too badly today.. Did I really have to have the big nutty biscuit thing this afternoon. Well apparently yes. Hopefully all this walking has helped it not too settle on my hips.

At least I haven't bought any chocolate.

Oh yes, that's because I haven't been to the supermarket yet . Silly me.

Tomorrow another therapy.

gotredonyou · 02/03/2015 09:59

Morning all, Crazy weather here today- snow showers & strong winds! Weekend eating was half indulgent and half healthy but did lots of exercise so hopefully that will balance things out. I don't come on here much at the weekend as i'm usually too busy should be too busy at work really

Todays menu-
B Porridge, banana & PB.
L HM Veg Soup, Liberte & Almonds
D Roast Turkey, Boiled Potatoes & Veg. x

SoonToBeMrsB · 02/03/2015 10:18

Morning ladies, how were your weekends? Mine was fairly quiet but I woke up to a very poorly doggy. The poor little mite was lethargic, shaky, upset stomach, not eating or drinking, etc so he has a vet appointment this morning and I'm a bag of nerves. It's DP's day off and he just phoned to say that he has tried to walk him but he's really slow and doesn't look himself Sad he's only 18mo and he's a very energetic jack russell so it's not like him.

As for the diet, it was well and truly out the window yesterday but I've resolved to join a SW class tonight so I'll be on it 100% from today. The class I used to go to runs on a Tuesday when I'm at college and this class isn't that convenient as it doesn't start until 7.30pm, plus I need to rely on the half-hourly train service or else walk the 30 mins home at 9pm. Every other class is either miles away or on at the same time as college but I'm really flagging, I need the fear of a class weigh in to keep me on the straight and narrow!

Dowser · 02/03/2015 10:48

Sorry to hear about the bad weather and poorly dog.

All pet owners should keep a bottle of Dr Bach's rescue remedy. Ainsworths not nelsons. I love homeopathy because you can always do something when you are dithering about what to do.

4 drops in its drinking water often gives animals the boost they need.

Nux vom is an excellent remedy for sickness. About 5 during the day can be a tremendous help to get the animals own healing system into gear. Certainly one after its been sick.

My son was about 8 and woke us about midnight saying he'd been sick. I gave him nux vom and he was sick. I gave him another one and he was sick again and then I gave him one more. That did the trick. He was backing edgy 2-30 am and we all got a peaceful night. He was as right as rain the next day.

If there's diarrhoea then arsen alb is a good one . Arnica for shock or bruising.

Pets respond well to homeopathy as there's no thinking process involved . The remedies just do their job. Those three get you a long way plus rescue remedy which is a mixture of 7 ingredients. One of which is for shock, another fear. It's good for fear of flying, exams nerves . Stress of any kind. Helps to bring the body back into balance.

Hope that helps. I bring my remedy maker with me . It goes everywhere I travel.

It's funny isn't it. My daughter has a degree but I'm more proud of the fact that she's a homeopath.

Dowser · 02/03/2015 10:49

Backing edgy....back in bed

SoonToBeMrsB · 02/03/2015 10:57

Well, two injections, some antibiotics and £77 later, DP says that the dog is bouncing around the living room right as rain. He has another two tablets to be split up over the next couple of days but hopefully he'll be back to himself quickly Smile

FreakinScaryCaaw · 02/03/2015 12:59

Hope you're still enjoying your holiday Dowser?

Glad pooch is OK soon.

I've been to my Church today for healing. Then home for Thai chicken soup.

Tango tonight so some exercise.

Whoop whoop i am now under 10 stone! After two weeks of no running i did 4 miles yesterday and 4 and a bit today, my god it was windy! Feel so much better for gettign out and running again, thouh my hips hurt a bit so doing lots of stretches to make sure they are ok and i wont push it distance wise this week.

SoonToBeMrsB · 02/03/2015 17:27

That's great 5mad! Definitely don't push yourself too hard but those runs are impressive!

Dancingwitch · 02/03/2015 20:53

After complaining you'd all disappeared, I then go & do the same!

Yesterday we had a mass family get together which was buffet style with loads of puddings and cakes and alcohol as well as main course and I did indulge but was more restrained than normal. And I had got up at 6.30am to do the Shred.
Today has been a really good day. I have fasted and stayed under my 500 cals and have done my first Couch to 5k run and done the Shred :-) I am determined to be under 10 stone by the end of March. 5mad - I am envious of you for having already got to that.
How is everyone doing on the weightloss? We're two months in now. I have lost 8lbs in total. I was hoping to have lost more than that as some of that would have just been post-Christmas deflating but it is better than nothing. Crucially, having done the Shred for a week, I am looking a lot thinner.

5madthings · 02/03/2015 21:02

My weight is coming off slowly, but have built muscle with the running, you can really sse the difference with my shape. just ordered and paid for my drees, havignga 50's style one made for me! Plus petticoat to match my shoes.

Its amazing how even though you can not lose much on the scales you can see a difference. I can wear my size ten skinnies fine now :) need to do some work on my upper arms to tone them though.

So how are you all getting on? I need to read back, as have been awol as my head was not in the right place. Amazing how mu h better i feel after a couple of runs though :)

Dowser · 02/03/2015 23:50

Some fantastic weight losses there ladies. Well done and keep it up.

Size 10 skinniest....in my dreams lol...along with madonnas body.

Haven't felt grand today. Two reasons. I've either picked up a bug which is quite possible or the two deep and very painful massages I've had has stirred a lot of things up, which is quite possible.

Had a walk along the prom and lunch overlooking the beach. Then it clouded over and as I was in a sundress we headed back. Been a cool wind these last couple of days.

Was having a laugh with my therapist. He's only been here twelve years and yesterday went fishing in the mountains and only wore shorts and t shirt. It was 11 degrees!there is still snow on top of the highest mountain. I always take a cardi out with us as when the sun starts to go down it gets really chilly.

Still haven't bought any chocolate yet. My bloated tum won't let me.

Hopefully will feel better tomorrow.

L1D10 of the Shred completed at 6.30 this morning so I am feeling quite smug.
I agree, Mad, my body has changed shape & yet my weight has hardly changed at all. My bum is a completely different shape & I noticed some definition in my upper arms this morning.
Dowser hope you feel better soon
