Anyone else need to lose weight for their wedding?

I need to lose at least 2 stone by June.

Tbh I haven't done too bad over Christmas and haven't gained afaik? avoided scales.

I'm 5ft 8 and weigh just over 13 stone. Am a size 14. My stomach is my worst area, legs and arms are fine as are boobs.

I only want to get to a size 12 as don't look so good as a 10. I used to be really skinny when younger and hated it.

Anyone else need to lose weight for their wedding? I'm not even looking at dresses yet until I lose some.

Morning all

Brits on tonight (which I love) so got up early to do 30 minutes weights- my arms are aching now though! Sorted out my hen do last night- going to the Turkish baths in Harrogate for the morning, afternoon tea at Bettys then a cocktail making class in Leeds for the evening. More motivation for me as I want to look as fab as my skinny friends in my swimsuit!

Todays menu-
B Scrambled eggs on 1 granary toast
L Roast Gammon & Salad, Liberte & Grapes.
D HM Veg Lasagne.

SoonToBeMrsB · 25/02/2015 12:28

Sounds good gotred! DP and I are going down to York for a couple of nights in July and we're definitely getting afternoon tea at Betty's Grin

gotredonyou · 25/02/2015 13:13

Ooh you can be the guinea pig & let me know if its any good then :)

FreakinScaryCaaw · 25/02/2015 15:38

Betty's is good but very expensive. It's a nice one off experience though.

I've been in a lovely tearoom today in Durham. We go for a health walk (organised one) when not working, then pick one of the many tearooms. I had coffee and roast veg on a muffin. Breakfast was seeded toast with bacon and fried egg.

Dinner tonight is stuffed pork with cabbage mash. I'll probably do carrots too?

Off out to a blues night but I'll just have sparkling water and maybe half a beer as have offered to drive. I love my real ale but it's full of calories. Plus I need a clear head for tomorrow. Dancing tomorrow night and we have dgs during the day so will burn off some calories.

Not such a good day for me today.

Must get my head together tomorrow.

Dancingwitch · 26/02/2015 00:00

Mad so sorry to hear your news.

I have been AWOL myself but just due to having a heavy cold. I haven't done any exercise since Sunday, did fast on Monday but doubt it was very effective as drank loads of honey & lemon throughout the day in addition to my 500 cals, had a non-fast day yesterday and then fasted again today but, as well as my 500 cals and yet more honey & lemon, I had a lot of warm apple juice as it really soothed my throat...and then I fell off the rails this evening whilst making a cheesecake and chocolate refridgerator cake as I ate loads of the ingredients, licked out the bowl etc. And then I wonder why I lose weight so slowly!

This Saturday is not only month end but I also have a party on Saturday night. I was originally hoping to be 10st by then but revised that back to 10st 2 a couple of weeks ago. I will be lucky to be 10st 3 (I have been 10st 4 a few times recently on good days but can't get below that).

Boleh · 26/02/2015 02:43

Hi Folks,
I'm just poking my nose back in here after ages away. I've managed to complete 2 whole weeks of Fast Days an exercise for a change and lost 2lb - Yay!
Now I just have to keep it up - I have 11lb to loose by July, I make that about 17 weeks, I'm on holiday for one of them so if I can just plug away at it and loose a lb a week it should be doable. Just cross with myself as I was only 5lb away in October and I went on a mad working and eating junk binge (I think I was frustrated that the last weightloss was so slow I was having to be uber strict) then ate the world over my Christmas holiday - grr!
Good to hear that many people are having success with SW - I did it for a while but got to a bit over the weight I am now and got totally stuck. I eateat very rarely and the endless green days got boring, plus my DP loves cheese so I could hardly ever eat what he cooked.
I'm now doing 5:2 as then I can cook for myself on FDs and eat pretty normaly with him (just minus junk and snacks) on NFDs.

So, we had a Proper Wedding Talk last night and we've decided that next April is too soon for us to afford both NYC and Cancun plus the vast amount of spending money we'd need for both, but we couldn't go later in the summer because Mexico will be rainy then and we can't do it in the autumn/winter because of how DP's holidays are split up. Staff at his work have to take a three week block between March and September and one week between October and February. There is no wiggle room so he couldn't even split it up to have two and two, they're oddly strict about it. They are also on a rota for holiday selection so DP is first pick next year which guarantees us June/July but he will be last pick in 2017 so he will almost definitely have March/April.

Anyway, we've decided to split it up and do a week in NYC next June for the wedding, and then ten nights in St Lucia the following March. Cancun is out because it will be spring break then and we don't want to be on the beach with a load of American frat boys. It might be a bit odd having a honeymoon months and months after the wedding but his holiday set-up makes it impossible to do anything else. Plus it gives us something to look forward to afterwards Grin

Morning all, Did anyone watch the Brits last night? Loved Sam Smith/Ed Sheeran's performances and still shocked about Madonna's fall!!

Todays menu
B- Porridge & banana
L- HM Veg Soup, Almonds & Grapes
D- Not sure yet as working late!

SoonToBeMrsB · 26/02/2015 10:26

I haven't stopped laughing at Madonna's fall all morning Grin

gotredonyou · 26/02/2015 10:40

Best joke I've heard so far- Too much Material Girl!!! Haha I was just SO shocked!! love how the lyrics were like 'you watched me stumble but loves gonna lift me up' Cringe!! x

SoonToBeMrsB · 26/02/2015 10:57

It was mental, she fell spectacularly. I've seen it captioned "No capes!" like in The Incredibles Grin

Dowser · 26/02/2015 11:48

Nice to have you back Boleh. We all seem to be having a struggle . I dont think this time of year helps.
We had a mild ish spell, followed by two really cold windy days and I react badly to that. House chilly even with heating on etc. I fell off the wagon.

We've all done that. It's the willingness to get back on that counts

If we weren't trying to get into shape for our weddings it would be so much worse.

I just seem to be maintaining what I've already got.

Sounds like a good plan Mrs B . Two for the price of one. Wedding and mini moon in new York, honeymoon later in st lucia. A cheaper alternative if you want some beach would be the west coast of Florida. Sarasota is very nice, Naples, Fort Myers. Internal flights in the us are really cheap and you could have a four or five night holiday at the beach and fly back from Orlando or Tampa or Miami even.

SoonToBeMrsB · 26/02/2015 11:58

Dowser

Neither of us drive so we quickly vetoed Florida. Plus, I spoke to two of my American friends who say that Florida is really crap and boring if you don't want to do Disney the whole time Sad

I've gotten myself excited about St Lucia anyway, there is a Sandals resort that I've seen and I'm desperate to go!

gotredonyou · 26/02/2015 11:58

I think where I struggle is...since I've lost almost 4 stone I feel fantastic compared to how I looked before. So on a day to day I feel happy and confident with my weight. It's just when I think about birthdays, summer, wedding, honeymoon etc.. that I think hmm I still need to lose another stone and tone up. So its like a weekly battle of restriction and then indulgence because i'm going from I feel fab in my work clothes to I look awful in a bikini!! Does anyone else get like this?? x

gotredonyou · 26/02/2015 12:17

Sorry just realised I totally changed the subject then- was just thinking about why I seem to be failing in my weight loss efforts.

We looked at Sandals St Lucia but the price was crazy!!! x

Dowser · 26/02/2015 12:52

Ah, I didnt know you didn't drive. That does complicate things with the us a bit .

I love Florida. Went about 40 times when I owned out there but hubs not keen.

Don't know when I'll be back to be honest. Didn't always do theme parks but to get off the beaten track like Mount Dora etc you do need a car.

I miss the shopping :-(

SoonToBeMrsB · 26/02/2015 13:04

gotred we've looked at St Lucia for March 2016 just to get an idea of prices and it looks like it would be around £2500pp for ten nights, but that's BA flights, a 5* spa resort and totally all inclusive so we wouldn't need much in the way of spending money.

Moon Palace in Cancun was going to be about £1800pp, but we'd need hundreds in spending money to do all of the excursions, etc so it pretty much balances out.

gotredonyou · 26/02/2015 13:17

We paid just under £1500pp for 2 weeks all inclusive at EDSS with a hot tub room :D

SoonToBeMrsB · 26/02/2015 13:38

Two weeks would be too long for me, I'd be climbing the walls. I'm now avoiding work by looking at the Dominican Republic... hmm...

FreakinScaryCaaw · 26/02/2015 18:42

Ill today, both dp and I. Luckily we're not at work but it was our day with dgs Sad Really miss him but couldn't risk passing this bug on.

So needless to say not much food has been eaten. I've had a granola flapjack and lots of fluid. Dp hasn't eaten just drank tea and juice.

Dowser I love Fl too, got married there the first time. There's so much more than disney but even that's amazing. Love Epcot too.

Am off back to bed soon. I'm not back at work until Saturday, just hope i'm ok for then?
