Anyone else need to lose weight for their wedding?

I need to lose at least 2 stone by June.

Tbh I haven't done too bad over Christmas and haven't gained afaik? avoided scales.

I'm 5ft 8 and weigh just over 13 stone. Am a size 14. My stomach is my worst area, legs and arms are fine as are boobs.

I only want to get to a size 12 as don't look so good as a 10. I used to be really skinny when younger and hated it.

Anyone else need to lose weight for their wedding? I'm not even looking at dresses yet until I lose some.

I wish I could get addicted to exercise, just for a few months. Not going to happen. Although I could dance every night.

I despise exercise with a fiery passion and would happily never exert myself in any way ever again. I'd love to be one of these people who look forward to going to the gym and get up at 6am to go running every morning...

gotredonyou · 20/02/2015 16:45

me too!! I always read stories of people who say They hated exercise until they found running/zumba/weighlifting/boxing etc.. but I can't seem to find the one that suits me! x

FreakinScaryCaaw · 20/02/2015 17:21

Try dancing! Look here. Put in your postcode and they tell you what's near to you. You won't regret it.

I love walking too, can walk for hours. But jumping up and down in a regimented fashion doesn't appeal.

I, too, wish I could find an exercise I love. Is it endorphins that are supposed to be released after exercise? I think mine have got lost!
Fast day here & didn't do too badly. At soft play for lunch & couldn't face one of their vile jacket potatoes or soggy salads so went for a turkey & ham pie which was surprisingly nice & probably not too bad as the portion of pastry was small and it was in a stock based sauce rather than a cream based one and was served with a mound of peas. I then had a mango & a carrot this afternoon plus two chocolates a few minutes ago. And I really can't face shredding tonight.

Dowser · 20/02/2015 23:07

I'm resting!

So shattered after the excitement of my birthday yesterday!

For that read 6 grandkids rampaging through the house!

Food wise....rubbish.

Tucked into birthday chocs with gusto!

WhatsGoingOnEh · 20/02/2015 23:10

I used to hate exercise but briefly! managed to get hooked on it when I first met DP. He was my first bf after my divorce, and I wanted to get "sex ready" before I showed my post-kids body to anyone new! I used to go to the gym 6x week and think about shagging him the whole time I was there. It was VERY motivating. :)

Then I moved house last year, got really depressed and stopped going. But I'm back there tomorrow for a Weights lesson. Quite nervous..

Good food day again:
Breakfast - fruit
Lunch - cheese sandwich (it's the prescribed lunch on the Scarsdale diet on Fridays)
Snack - carrots
Dinner - baked fish (really nice SW low-carb recipe) with green beans and broccoli

Gained a pound this morning but have just got my period so I'm hoping that was the reason. Amazed I got through PMT week without eating ANY chocolate at all. I didn't know that was possible!

Dowser I posted your SW books today. :)

WhatsGoingOnEh · 20/02/2015 23:12

My favourite exercise is the rowing machine. It's low impact and good if you're a bit lazy (like me) and just want to do one easy thing that gets you thin. It seems to tone up everything and made my back, legs and tummy look great. I used to sit on it and do 10,000m, which took about an hour. Listening to iPod, it really was good fun.

Dowser · 21/02/2015 09:48

Thank you so much. I will let you know when they arrive.

Gorgeous sunny day here. Maybe have a walk out.

Will try to stay on plan today.

WhatsGoingOnEh · 21/02/2015 10:53

It's lovely here too, so I'm taking mum's dog out, and my boys.

It's fruit only on Scarsdale today, for breakfast and lunch (eek). I've been organised though, and chopped up a fresh pineapple, a melon with crystallised ginger (with the delicious sugar syrup washed off, whimper), and strawberries and blackberries. We get roast chicken tonight - can't wait.

Is anyone else doing any beauty treatments now, before the wedding? Like skin treatments, or anything? I've got stains in-between my teeth from smoking so I've started oil pulling every day, and ordered some dental tools and abrasive stuff so I can clean them at home. I've booked a hygienist appt too, but I'm such a wimp when they do it!

Have a lovely skinny day, everyone :)

Dowser · 21/02/2015 11:33

No, am not doing any beauty treatments. I should but I've gotten so lazy.

I make my own face creams and just slather it on. It's Shea butter, coconut oil a bit of this and that. The lavera range are supposed to be all natural. My daughter bought me some and I found it very drying so I use it as a base and mix my stuff with it. Smells lovely.

Oh says rinsing with dilute hydrogen peroxide is good for stain removal. I have the bleaching trays that igot when in America so I just freshen mine up with them from time to time.

Oil pulling is good. Do you use coconut oil. I use it for everything. Even deoderant. Oh yes I make that as well.

Right, must get cracking. Gawd we are sooo lazy!

Dowser · 21/02/2015 13:31

Bad news out of Cardiff today just makes me want to reach for chocolate and more chocolate.

I'm trying not too!!!

Dowser · 21/02/2015 18:26

I knew itwasamistakegetting the grandsons chips.

Ho hum. I was having a good day till that happened.

Hoping the ( freezing) 2 mile walk will limit the damage.

Dancingwitch · 21/02/2015 21:27

Dowser I'm sorry to hear about the bad news
What's your tales of going to the gym made me laugh.
I did the shred mid-morning & it is so nice not to have it hanging over me this evening. It wasn't the greatest shred ever as I kept having to stop to referee some argument between the DC.
Not a great day food wise:
B - 1.5 mini bagels with honey & a banana
L - picnic &, whilst I tried to just have salad & prawns, some pizza, cheese, crisps & cocktail sausages felling my mouth
S - smoked salmon risotto
Snacks - pear, small slice choc refrigerator cake, two chocolates, gin & slimline

Dowser · 21/02/2015 22:21

Thanks DW. Since this morning He's been taken into hospital finally, thankfully for some respite .

Sort out his pain, get him comfortable. Give his wife som e much needed respite.

Best news I've heard for a while.

FreakinScaryCaaw · 21/02/2015 23:41

Lovely day here too, sun shined all day.

I went on a history walk in Durham. It wasn't a strenuous walk, lots of stopping and starting, but we walked a lot around Durham and later on the park with dgs and family.

I've been on the rowing machine tonight for 10 minutes. I got a little out of breath so that's a good sign.

Food wise hasn't been too bad. Beans on toast for breakfast. A granola flapjack for a snack. A small piece of cheese and potato pie with salad was the unhealthiest thing. Tonight chilli and brown rice. I've had fruit tea, some coffee and ordinary tea. Plus lots of water.

I think I'll have a fast day tomorrow? I really need to shift some weight and don't have long to go now.

Good luck everyone.

Thinking of you all Dowser x

Thinking of you all, Dowser. Flowers

I had my training session at the gym earlier, and the trainer was a real cheesey lech! All "oh it won't the long to get YOU into shape!" and expressing amazement at my age when he read my membership details. Hmm I actually told him off.

But I did 35 minutes weights and then rowed 5k on the rowing machine (ouch), wearing my Zaggora top that makes you sweat. Then took boys and dog to the park. Then ate loads of chicken and steamed green veg.

...then ate two squares of dark chocolate. Oops.

FreakinScaryCaaw · 22/02/2015 11:42

Oh 2 squares is a health supplement WhatsG Wink

I'll have to have a look for one of those tops as I don't sweat much, not even when dancing non stop? I've always been the same.

I've done the Shred this morning Shock Struggled most with the push ups. I'm going to keep at it though as I know it works.

Only had some almonds up to now. Chicken and veg with low fat roast pots for lunch ( spray oil instead of lard lol)

OP posts:
WhatsGoingOnEh · 22/02/2015 20:15

Dark chocolate IS a health supplement, for those around me; it stops me killing them. :)

Well done on push ups, no matter how many you managed. I'm impressed, I can't do any. In the gym earlier, there was a man much older than me doing push-ups on a roller thing. I mean, his hands were gripping a little wheeled roller and he was whizzing backwards and forwards. I couldn't tell if it was easy or hard.

I rowed another 5k earlier, and did 10 mins on the cross trainer (I'm so crap at that!) and 10 mins on the bike.

Breakfast: fruit and dry toast
Lunch: Turkey meatballs
After-gym snack: walnuts and half square dark (medicinal) chocolate
Dinner: steak and salad.

I've lost 5lbs so far. 18 to go, but it feels achievable. I've got my new program from my trainer at the gym so I'll start that tomorrow.

WhatsGoingOnEh · 22/02/2015 20:17

And I can recommend Zaggora clothing! I wore a top and trousers to the gym today and I was WRINGING wet after. Sexy! But hopefully it all helps. The reviews are all really good, women MELT.

gotredonyou · 23/02/2015 10:17

Morning all- Booked the honeymoon to Mexico this weekend so time to get serious- 9 months to go!! Committing to the gym Mon/Wed/Fri from now on even if its just half an hour as i'm getting lazy.

B- Granola, Almond Milk & Berries
L- Tuna Mayo Salad, Liberte & Grapes
D- Something with chicken & veggies maybe sweet potato/brown rice?

Would you all recommend rowing machines for toning then? We are making our spare room into a gym atm and just have a load of weights but was thinking of either getting a bike or rower for HIIT? x

WhatsGoingOnEh · 23/02/2015 14:21

DEFINITELY get a rowing machine over a bike! It burns 3x or 4x as many calories without any more effort, and it works far more parts of your body (legs, bum, back, shoulders, chest). Get a Concept 2 machine if you have money to splash (ebay and gyms are good sources of secondhand ones).

I cannot recommend them enough.

WhatsGoingOnEh · 23/02/2015 14:22

Once you've got one, go to the Concept 2 webpage and sign up for their daily workout email. 3 different workouts sent to you every morning! I get them, never do them, but read them with a coffee and a fag.

WhatsGoingOnEh · 23/02/2015 14:24

I've lost 6lbs now. :) Am on course to have reached my goal weight by the time we go on holiday in Easter.

Food today. Breakfast: fruit
Lunch: Turkey meatballs
Dinner: baked fish, and fruit

Exercise: I'm going to do a Shred now, then do weights at the gym while DS2 has his swimming lesson later. Better to use the gym than try and find a table to sit at amongst the 50,000 other mums.

Dowser · 23/02/2015 17:23

Good news Wgoe.

Parcel in post ;-)

Being very good today. Just wondered how my glass of green juice fits into SW diet.

It's 2/3 green veg and 1/3 apple for taste.

Lamb shanks for tea . Yum. Had 3 syns so far.

Unless the juice HAS to be synced in which case Gawd help me because I've synned!

Many times over.
