Anyone else need to lose weight for their wedding?

I need to lose at least 2 stone by June.

Tbh I haven't done too bad over Christmas and haven't gained afaik? avoided scales.

I'm 5ft 8 and weigh just over 13 stone. Am a size 14. My stomach is my worst area, legs and arms are fine as are boobs.

I only want to get to a size 12 as don't look so good as a 10. I used to be really skinny when younger and hated it.

Anyone else need to lose weight for their wedding? I'm not even looking at dresses yet until I lose some.

Well here I am again , sneaking in through an open window.

Finally picked the dress up. If I want to wear it for my wedding, I'll need to put on weight. It's very loose on the waist, bust and hips....to my astonishment.

I must be smaller than I look or else I am the victim of vanity sizing again and it's really a size 18.

Anyway it's too big and it's coffee and not ivory or a warm cream like I thought but it's given me a good idea what the quiz dresses will look like. A lot of them have a shirred back and I think for the best fit thats the way to go for me. The bust will fit while giving me more room on my hips.

I made pancakes tonight with buckwheat flour. I didn't have any. I did have a gluten free brownie with a cup of tea and rather wished I hadn't as I didn't need it.

Another week or so and will be in the sunshine and should get some more exercise.

Love it but miss family so much.

Having a party to or row so will need to go steady!

Really tired so am having an early night. Haven't slept past these last few mornings.

Not giving anything up for lent.

She said as she chucked her toys out of the pram lol

By the time I can't have bread, pasta, chicken, cakes, biscuits, trifle, sandwiches, pizza, fish in batter......there's not a lot left.

Must give it a big push this week. We go away a week on Friday

;-)

Well done on shredding again dancingwitch.

The invitations are these blackboard style ones. They don't have a space to put the invited's names on but I'll just put that on the envelope.

No Dowser, I think you've given up enough already!

Those invitations are really cute FSC, I love them!

I dragged my fat arse to bootcamp last night for the first time in weeks. I stopped going because I had a bad knee and then the fear of going back put me off so I've just been persevering with the gym. The intensity just isn't high enough though so I knew I needed to get back, especially when I tried on four new dresses to wear to my parents' 30th anniversary dinner next weekend and not a single one fitted over my giant ham-like arms Blush

Food today:

B: Baked oats with stewed apple and full fat greek yoghurt, coffee

L: Covent Garden lentil and bacon soup, 2x ryvita with tuna, Petits Filous, Nakd bar, grapes

D: Tesco kids lasagne ready meal and another Petits Filous before college, one slice of seeded toast with whole earth peanut butter when I get home at 9.15pm

gotredonyou · 19/02/2015 09:11

Ooh love those invites Freakin My fiancé is a graphic designer so he has designed and printed ours to my requirements

Arm is still aching bad from giving blood but still want to go Zumba tonight!

Todays menu-
B Granola, Berries & Almond Milk
L HM Tomato Soup, Liberte & Nakd Bar
D HM Burger, Warbutons thin for bun & Salad.

SoonToBeMrsB · 19/02/2015 09:48

gotred there wouldn't be a wedding at all if I had any tasks to dictate to DP, I'm such an anal control freak that he'd probably smother me in my sleep Grin

Last night for instance he offered to have dinner (chicken breast and sweet potato cooked in a Maggi's bag, so hardly a michelin-worthy dish) ready for me getting home and I texted him instructions over FOUR texts to ensure he did it right Blush he's almost 25 and lived alone for years prior to me moving in!

gotredonyou · 19/02/2015 09:55

Oh god I do that and my fiancé is 28!! But if I don't give him precise instructions he'd have the oven on full and the hob on low so nothing is ready at the same time !! x

SoonToBeMrsB · 19/02/2015 10:15

Well, the first time he offered to make dinner I told him to wrap the chicken in foil and put it in the oven. Idiot Features didn't realise that you had to use an oven tray so he put the chicken straight on the rack with the folded side down, so the water dripped out and baked on to the bottom of the oven. Apparently it was my fault for not being clear enough Hmm

FreakinScaryCaaw · 19/02/2015 11:56

Eeek at the chicken Soon!!

I'm just back from doing an English exam (C&G) Really enjoyed it. It's part of my NVQ work.

Am eating a box of noodles from Lidl, Pad Thai. I love them but couldn't have them when low carbing. They're over 500 cals a box and not much to them tbh.

Aaaargh! Parties. Over eaten and had too much to drink..by that I mean I've had I more gin than usual and a baileys.

Too much sweet stuff

To or row is another day!!!

Dowser · 19/02/2015 22:21

Mr Dowser was up bright and early....about 10-30 to start on the cooking. Lovely fruity turkey curry with rice.

I went to aldi and for £35 got turkey, pizzas for kids, beer, cider, cakes etc and there's still some stuff for tomorrow for my grandson to ' Hoover' up. He came on Tuesday for the night and he's still here. He's tall and slim. Never stops moving and eats me out of house and home.

When he goes, I always ask him if he's checked he's eaten everything. I tell him not to leave any stone unturned in case he's missed anything. He always obliges.

So we had my birthday party. I'd forgotten it was my birthday. I thought it was next week. There was plenty of food. The 6 kids made the appropriate bit of noise , especially now three of them have started some sort of martial arts and were busting a few moves on the other three and the adults had a good chin wag.

All in all . Everything went well. Had a fabulous time and weight loss is stalled till next week or later.

Everyone loves nana's. In fact I'll be surprised if another one or two of the little blighters haven't stowed away under the beds.

Had to turn down an invitation to go out tomorrow night because I'm just stuffed and I don't want to eat another thing till breakfast tomorrow.

ENJOY3MUM · 19/02/2015 22:29

I have been shortlisted for 111 NHS clinical advisor job interview. What type of questions should I expect. My brain has become blank, please help.

FreakinScaryCaaw · 19/02/2015 23:12

Glad you enjoyed your birthday Dowser.

I've not done bad food wise. Am having some beans on toast for supper and just picked throughout the day.

I've been out dancing, hence needing supper, and really enjoyed it. Dp and I danced to the song we want for the party night, Real love by Clean Bandit.

I'm going to try my best to exercise tomorrow and burn some more cals as weight loss isn't as much as I'd hoped by now.

Happy birthday, Dowser. I can't believe you forgot!

FSC those invitations are great. I think we're just going to go with evite.

Another late night shred finished here. I was only wearing pants on my bottom half (left my leggings upstairs & just couldn't be bothered to go & get them) which was terrible as, when I was doing jumping jacks, I could hear my thighs slapping together & when I was doing skip rope jumps, I could hear my stomach pouch flapping up & down. Nice!

Not a great day food wise as I ended up making macaroni cheese with 5yo DD today & then obviously ate some of it. It was delicious... And so it should have been for the calories!

B- yogurt & a mango
L - macaroni cheese with tender stem broccoli
S - prawn & avocado salad
Snacks - an orange; a few grapes

Fast day again tomorrow. Both DC at home so it could be a bit of a challenge!

SoonToBeMrsB · 20/02/2015 09:23

dancingwitch

I can also hear my thighs slapping together when I run, and I've noticed when wearing leggings that they actually jiggle every time my foot hits the ground when walking. Note to self: must do more lunges! Blush

I've managed two good days in a row, which is almost unheard of. My food has been all over the place and, as a result, I gained 1.5lbs at weigh in on Wednesday. I'm switching things up at the moment - I've changed to full fat dairy and I'm trying to have three really big meals instead of picking at fruit or low calorie, high sugar crap (fat free yoghurt, Special K bars, etc) all day. So far I've not been hitting the vending machine like I usually do so I'm going to stick with it.

B: 2 slices of brioche french toast cooked in coconut oil with 2tsp maple syrup, coffee

L: Lentil and bacon soup, ham and mustard sandwich on seeded bread, Nakd bar

D: Pork steaks with mustard mash, broccoli, spinach

S: Banana, another coffee

Dowser · 20/02/2015 09:23

I know. It was with being away in Wales. I'd lost track of the dates. I thought it was next Wednesday for some strange reason.

Anyway it all worked out in the end.

Definitely need a day where I'm on plan. Hopefully today will be the day . With the weather being quite mild at the moment it was nice to wear one of my new dresses. It was black based but with nice colourful floral bits so it stilly teamed up well with those thick black leggings from Primark and a black cardi but being sleeveless I felt it's not long till summer is on its way ;-)

gotredonyou · 20/02/2015 09:54

Morning all- TGIF!! P*ssed off with the scales again this morning as my weight goes up and down wherever I place them. Decided to go by measurements/clothes in the next few months as its getting me down not seeing results in my weight.
Went to Zumba again last night and it was awful! They introduced lots of new routines which were so difficult! Featured loads of twerking and boob shaking so I just side stepped for most of the class ugh.
Off to my sisters for the weekend after work and she is an amazing cook (has indian in-laws) so lots of curries, pastries & sweets will be consumed!

Todays menu-
B Porridge & Banana
L HM tomato soup, liberte yoghurt
D Tandoori chicken, Salad & a few chips.

SoonToBeMrsB · 20/02/2015 10:50

Oh no, that's rubbish gotred. I'm useless at Zumba, well done for giving it a go though!

I think you either need new scales or just keep them in one place and never move them, if possible. My flat is tiny so that's not an option for me but my scales are really accurate and always give me the same number no matter how many times I move them or get on and off: Voila

FreakinScaryCaaw · 20/02/2015 13:05

gotred, my weight goes up and down. Was by 4lbs one day! I've decided to go more by my clothes now. Although will still weigh myself Wink

OP posts:
gotredonyou · 20/02/2015 15:14

My weight changes massively over the week but I was hoping to see a downward trend over the last month and I have lost nothing! Until I move the scales around the room grrr lol I feel slimmer and my tummy is flat so I definitely have lost something. Going to try and introduce some heavy weights into my routines next week as really need to tone up!!! Booking the honeymoon this weekend which is a massive motivation to me !xx

FreakinScaryCaaw · 20/02/2015 15:22

gotred, could you be gaining muscle mass? I know I'm trimmer in myself but the scales aren't showing. So I'm guessing it's muscle being heavier?

I used to know a girl years ago who starting working as a trainer (some fitness can't remember what?) and she went from 9.5 stone to 11 stone yet looked a lot smaller! She said it was muscle mass. She looked overweight when she was out of shape but great after.

OP posts:
SoonToBeMrsB · 20/02/2015 15:32

FSC it's almost impossible to build muscle mass on a large calorie deficit and it doesn't weigh more than fat, it's just denser. 1lb of fat and 1lb of muscle both weigh 1lb, but 1lb of fat takes up more space than 1lb of muscle

I have a friend who is a body builder and he eats at a massive calorie surplus for weeks, taking in a huge amount of protein while lifting and then he slashes his calories to burn the fat covering the new muscle. This is calorie cycling.

Exercise tones you, it's good for your bones and mental well-being and it retains any muscle that you currently have but you'd have to train like an Olympian to build a noticeable amount of muscle on the sort of calories we all eat.

Sorry to be a killjoy Sad

FreakinScaryCaaw · 20/02/2015 15:40

I know it's denser. You can look heavier, as in bigger, when you're flabby rather than toned. Yet be heavier when toned.

Anyway, I've dug out the shred so am doing that and when I'm off work I'll do it those days ..except when dancing. I danced last night and was so stiff this morning.

www.fitocracy.com/knowledge/wp-content/uploads/2013/04/before-after-fat.jpg I think this is a great example of having lower body fat/higher muscle mass making you look leaner even though you weight more etc.. However I look like none of these because I don't do enough exercise!! lol x
