Anyone else need to lose weight for their wedding?

I need to lose at least 2 stone by June.

Tbh I haven't done too bad over Christmas and haven't gained afaik? avoided scales.

I'm 5ft 8 and weigh just over 13 stone. Am a size 14. My stomach is my worst area, legs and arms are fine as are boobs.

I only want to get to a size 12 as don't look so good as a 10. I used to be really skinny when younger and hated it.

Anyone else need to lose weight for their wedding? I'm not even looking at dresses yet until I lose some.

Aww sorry you're upset about your dress Whats. Did it used to fit or have you just gone off it? Could you wear a nice bolero with it to help?

A friend of mine has bought 3 dresses Grin She offered me one even though she's 3 sizes bigger. She said it was way too small so could be altered for me. Anyway I got my own.

I've ordered one off the Internet. It's cost £20 in the sale.

It's probably hideous lol but it's roughly the type of thing I'm looking forand they do free returns.
it'll help to get an idea of what I really want. I've optimistically ordered a 16. Ha! Ha!
Nothing ventured nothing gained. Lol

WhatsGoingOnEh · 11/02/2015 23:44

£20 is amazing!!! Where from? Is it a China one? I've been looking at them this evening and am v tempted.

FSCaaw, it used to look OK but that was before I methodically packed on 1.5 stone and stopped going to the gym.

Oh look, here it is in all its awful glory:

Can I get this looking nice in 4 months with strict diet and a LOT of exercise?

WhatsGoingOnEh · 11/02/2015 23:45

Look at that flat, sagging grandma-arse and that HUGELY barrelled gut! And those pants are loose -- wtf is with them cutting into my Pillsbury-like fat and creating such a big roll??

WhatsGoingOnEh · 11/02/2015 23:46

How many stone is that dress away from looking nice? One stone? One and a half? Two? Nine?

FreakinScaryCaaw · 12/02/2015 08:27

Won't some good underwear help? It doesn't look far off fitting to me?

Missqwerty · 12/02/2015 09:10

What's going on. It doesn't look that bad at all! I'd say u need to lose 1 stone and get squatting and it will fit beautifully. When Is your wedding?

SoonToBeMrsB · 12/02/2015 09:29

Whats get some seriously heavy squats and lunges done, build yourself up a real badonk-a-donk and that dress will look stunning Wink

I have wide hips but the flattest arse in the world, I can't wear jeans because the bum sags horribly Blush even DP can't lie, he openly laughs at me about it!

Today is one of my long days - work 9-5 and college 6-9 so food needs to be quite stodgy:

B: Shredded Wheat with banana and coffee

L: Tomato soup with a buttered wholemeal roll, 2x clementines, yoghurt

D: Baked potato with beans and 25g cheese

S: Nakd bar with another coffee

gotredonyou · 12/02/2015 09:51

What's The dress looks great- I would just get some spanx! They even do ones with bum padding these days hehe Grin x

Dowser · 12/02/2015 10:00

Wgoe you have lovely slim hips, much slimmer than mine. I could never wear a dress like that. A bit too unforgiving for my hips .

I tend to go for something that has more material in the skirt but I'm not sure about the gathers on the waist here.

Here's a link

For £20 its worth a punt and with free returns I've nothing to lose. Apart from about 10lbs ha! Ha!

Whether I'll squish my big boobs into what looks like a non stretchy top is another matter.

I'm having another one of those mornings where I've slept well but I'm shattered . I'll put my sad lamp on again this morning before we go into Cardiff. I think the weight of all of the emotional anguish is just getting to me/ us.

We sat with our cousins for a couple of hours last night in a freezing cold house in our coats because he can't stand the heat. Normally there's a fire roaring up the chimney. I think he spoke about 6 sentences which was about four more than the previous night. Normally he'd talk the hind leg off a donkey and he would take great delight in locking horns with me.

OH was making shall we go for breakfast noises, there's a Toby next door. No, I'm having 'in the doghouse '2 hard boiled eggs and you can have your porridge. He has an insulated pot that you put in your porridge oats In from home bargains , pour hot water in and half an hour later...hey presto porridge. OH Is lovely. He's a bear grylls survival sort of guy...just gets on with it.

Oh well, enough wittering from me. Our last day here before we move on tomorrow .

Have a good day everyone and well done to everyone who has done well.

SoonToBeMrsB · 12/02/2015 10:06

Dowser, it's most certainly not "wittering" and you're welcome to say whatever you want here. I'm sorry that things are so tough.

The dress is stunning, I really like it.

WhatsGoingOnEh · 12/02/2015 10:45

Dowser - that dress is gorgeous! Is it in Jersey material? I love Jersey, it hangs so well and always looks great. And £20! Amazing!!

FSC, Missqwerty, Soon to Be - thanks for your reassurances. Yes to squats!! My Xbox has a Brazilian Butt Lift exercise video, I'll start with that! And gotredonyou OMG! Padded butt Spanx! Perfection!

Dowser · 12/02/2015 19:51

Couldn't find our thread. Had to google it!

Bizarre!

Been into Cardiff to look at wedding dresses. Saw a Jenny Packham beige chiffon dress , very much like like the one in the link I posted.

This one was £100 more than the Quiz dresses and was exactly the same material . £175 instead of £79 at quiz.

Ridiculous! Probably all come from China anyway?

Tonight I start the self flagellation.

With a choice of a Beanfreaks green juice or a gluten free brownie with cream, no prizes for guessing which one I chose.

Just chomped through a Toby carvery....and oh yes I was going to miss out on the roasties as penance......fat chance!

Dowser · 12/02/2015 20:08

Thank you for all your kind thoughts.

I'm looking forward to seeing this dress. Probably be about Tuesday.

I feel so bloated and it's probably more water than anything as staying in a hotel I'm right off my plan.

I don't know what's going on with clothes at the moment. I like those scuba dresses and bought another one in Dorothy Perkins sale in Barry for £7. Was in coast in debenhams today and here's a summer dress in same fabric but different pattern £115!

Quality was no different! At one time coast was a bit different and e cellent quality but seeing that...well i know I'm just going to shop around.

Dowser · 12/02/2015 22:09

Wgoe....I love jersey too ...but know the dress is unforgiving chiffon.

It's a beach wedding and it will be hot...so need something lightweight.

FreakinScaryCaaw · 12/02/2015 22:51

The dress is amazing Dowser, what a bargain!

I've found my shoes. Need to order them online.

Good day today for exercise and food. 3 hours power walking and a lot of it uphill (with a client) Soup for lunch and beef panang with a few noodles for supper.

I'm thinking of doing the SW diet as loads of people I know are losing a lot of weight on it?

I could do with doing some squats too WGOE. My knees are a bit dodgy though.

OP posts:
WhatsGoingOnEh · 13/02/2015 08:20

SW is really good now.

WhatsGoingOnEh · 13/02/2015 08:23

Oops, posted too soon! I meant to add, if you want the books, etc, I have them all here and could post them to you. I have last year's plan AND the new one they brought out just after Xmas. (This is if you want to save the weekly fee and just do it from home!)

I'm starting my diet on Monday. I'm doing the Scarsdale Diet. It's the only one that's ever worked for me. He tells you what to eat every day - I need that bossiness!

WhatsGoingOnEh · 13/02/2015 08:24

And what are your shows like? Can I see a picture?

FreakinScaryCaaw · 13/02/2015 08:27

That's kind of you Whats, I'd pay postage.

Am dashing off to work now, back home 10pm so no idea what food will be like?

Shoes are here.

Help

I'm really struggling with this thread. I can't see it when I get into mumsnet weight loss chat. I have to google it and it only shows first page then I have a heck of a problem to write or see anything

All other threads are fine. What's happened . I use an iPad

dancingwitch · 13/02/2015 13:00

Weight gain alert! Am I the first to have done this on this thread? Do I need to go & hide my head and saggy are in shame?
I am blaming it entirely on having had the period from hell & eating everything in the house. I did at least wake up yesterday morning & realise I was now in a sugar high/low cycle which I needed to snap out of so managed to have a clean day yesterday (well, almost... I made brownies at 9pm & ate the scrapings of the mix) with no breakfast, lentil & veggie soup for lunch and steak with salad & potato for supper. Today, I am getting back on the wagon & having a fast day but I'm not sure it's going to benefit me much as I'm then going to nip out & get the M&S dine in meal.
I feel like crying. Six weeks of supposedly being on a diet and I have lost 5lbs, all of which was Christmas bloat. I spent most of last year at 10st 7 trying to get to 10st and don't want the same again this year.
Blasted PCOS, being short, having a sedentary job, having cut out many empty calories like my daily cake, wine etc having been done years ago does make this a bit of a slog.
Sorry for the self indulgent wine.

dancingwitch · 13/02/2015 13:01

I have wine on the brain! That should have been "whine"!

Dowser · 13/02/2015 14:42

Well I haven't been weighed but this week away makes me feel like any losses have been cancelled out?

I dont have PCos just one big one on my left ovary which I don't know if that counts.

It's been a rough few days with what's happening in Wales. I could have done more damage I suppose but it's not over yet!

5 lbs is still off so don't give up...best foot forward. We are all going through difficult times. Just one moment at a time ;-)
