Anyone else need to lose weight for their wedding?

FreakinScaryCaaw · 29/12/2014 14:10

I need to lose at least 2 stone by June.

Tbh I haven't done too bad over Christmas and haven't gained afaik? avoided scales.

I'm 5ft 8 and weigh just over 13 stone. Am a size 14. My stomach is my worst area, legs and arms are fine as are boobs.

I only want to get to a size 12 as don't look so good as a 10. I used to be really skinny when younger and hated it.

Anyone else need to lose weight for their wedding? I'm not even looking at dresses yet until I lose some.

Dowser, isn't it (the thread) there when you click on the I'm on link at the top?

Had a great day today, lots of lovely grub as had cooked meal for lunch courtesy of local take away. Dp had a lush candlelit meal ready for me when I got in, with red roses and a card. We said we weren't bothering with us both being at work tomorrow Grin Funnily enough I almost bought him a card whilst out.

So not a good day diet wise but a good day anyway.

Happy Valentines all you lovely brides-2-be Flowers

Thanks FSC.. For the moment I'm keeping it open on my browser but will check that out if I lose my place.
It's still odd though when you read down the list of threads and it's missing.

Sounds like you've had a lovely evening. I'm in a meeting all day and my head is thumping as someone tried to get into our room in the middle of the night!

Nice sunny day though.

FreakinScaryCaaw · 14/02/2015 18:06

Get into what room? What sort of work do you do Dowser?

I've done a nice little shift today, picked it up. Just 9 to 5. I had brunch at lunchtime and some tea loaf for a snack. Beef chilli for dinner.

Not much exercise today but we've been for a walk.

My shoes arrived and they look great. They pinch a bit but if I wear them in the house for a while they should be ok? They were delivered at 8.30 and I had to leave the house 10 minutes later, so that was lucky.

Hotel room. They were probably drunk and forgot which room they were in but at 5 am it can give you a start.

I work for a charity.

Seen three possible dresses. One silver, one pink and silver and one green.

They range from £80 to £110. Haven't tried them on. Not sure if any are ' the one' but at least I feel like I have a few options.

At least the spring colours are trickling through now.

WhatsGoingOnEh · 14/02/2015 18:42

Eek at hotel-room invaders! But awwwwwww at candlelit dinners. ??

DP took me out for lunch and I managed to only have one vodka and slimline tonic, instead of wine. And a diet coke for pudding. Roarrrrr! But best of all, he bought me five personal-trainer sessions for my gym! That would normally be an insulting present ("are you calling he FAT?") but I asked him for one and he bought five. I'm really excited.

Also, I remembered a very pretty cream dress I have in my wardrobe that I've only worn once. I tried it on and it's really elegant, summery and simple. I might wear that for the wedding. It's my second wedding (DP's first) so I can afford to dress down a tiny bit (it's not a long dress, just below the knee). Plus I've ordered a fab dress from boohoo (£20!) which isn't weddingy enough for daytime but might make a great evening-reception dress. It's black and white, knee-length, insanely flattering.

But I still need to lose weight so I'm starting Scarsdale diet tomorrow. I went to Lidl and bought all the food so I'm going to spend tonight planning the meals, getting my gym stuff ready (new iPod playlists etc) and tomorrow it's GAME ON.

WhatsGoingOnEh · 14/02/2015 18:43

My cream dress is sleeveless. My arms are awful - flabby and swingy. Can they be transformed in 4 months or is that unrealistic?

Dowser · 14/02/2015 23:48

If they can do let Me know. I have about 7 months.

Can't believe I dieted for 5 weeks and done so much damage this week.

It's all over the p,ace folks

B...boiled egg

L..salmon, salad...then it all went pear shaped
Crisps, 4 small gluten free cakes

D ..wagamama teriyaki beef and katsu sauce and a large piece of choc!

Hangs head in shame.

By the time I get home..I'll need to buy myself a tent!

WhatsGoingOnEh · 15/02/2015 00:50

That doesn't sound that bad at all! I've been worse than that tonight. I've eaten French bread. And NOT a small piece. Oh no. And 3 Thornton's chocolates, and I'm sure some other stuff that I've blanked out.

I'm clearing the cupboards of all the fattening stuff... With my mouth...

Dowser · 15/02/2015 09:44

I need some green juice!

Dowser · 15/02/2015 12:22

But had some breakfast chocolate instead as I don't like what's on offer in the hotel.

FreakinScaryCaaw · 15/02/2015 13:12

Oh heck Dowser that is at 5am!

I haven't eaten today yet and it's after 1pm. Might have a bowl of soup or some beans on toast soon? Dp's at work and dss and the dog are at exdh's. Home on my tod watching Frozen and chatting to friends on FB. First time I've seen Frozen but heard it's good?

I'm going to make some low cal soup today and munch on that. I don't have much of an appetite.

Have a good day everyone Smile

How do you lose a whole thread!!

Bloomin Barmy

I have to google it, get page one and then on that one page only, there's 29 pages of posts and when I get to the bottom there's my reply box.

If I disappear never to return its not because I've slimmed myself to oblivion!

FreakinScaryCaaw · 15/02/2015 19:10

Well I've eaten my calories for the day. Chicken soup for late lunch and cajun chicken breast on salad for dinner. I might have just enough calories left to have a cup of tea with a splash of milk? Wink

No exercise today. Haven't even left the house. I watched another movie, Neighbours. It was ok, prefered Frozen though.

I have not been on track for a few weeks. Woe.

Need a kick up the bum. Tomorrow is a new day.

However - have signed up to do a half marathon in the autumn, so need to get my arse in gear - haven't run in about a year. Nothing like a challenge eh?!

dancingwitch · 15/02/2015 20:04

Another bad weekend...

I can't remember if I had breakfast or not yesterday but I then had Chinese for lunch & one of the M&S dine in me as for supper.

Today I had a hot cross bun for breakfast, three fajitas and then a chocolate mousse for lunch & have just had lentil & veg soup for supper with a cheesy roll.

The chocolate mousse possibly had my entire week's calories in but I felt I had to eat it as we were at friends for lunch & the DC didn't like it ad it was too rich and DP didn't like it as it was too creamy.

Tomorrow is another day, another week etc. I just haven't got into the swing of it this month.

gotredonyou · 16/02/2015 09:40

Morning all.

Disaster of a weekend- Pizza, popcorn and birthday cake were consumed eek! was fun while it lasted but back on it today! Can't fast tomorrow as giving blood so will try fit two days in later this week.

Todays menu-
B Porridge, banana & PB
L Tuna Mayo Salad, Liberte & Grapes
D HM Veg Lasagne x

Dowser · 16/02/2015 09:54

Aaargh! Still googling the thread.hopefully can sort it when home.

There's only so many lines you can draw under things , so here's another. The one I'm drawing under last week.

I've bought three bottles of m and s juice. They are to see me till I get home. Won't be havi g them all. Although there's probably a days calories in all three and three for a fiver ain't bad..

So, that's me sorted.

Back on the horse.

I hope!

FreakinScaryCaaw · 16/02/2015 11:51

That's a bargain Dowser.

I love veg lasagne gotred. Now I'm 5:2ing instead of low carbing I can have it Grin

I was going to see 50 shades today with dp but cba. So am sticking showbox on and am going to try to convince ds1 to join us to watch a movie -Big hero 6. I'll go and get snacks and save a fortune! I'd have taken them to watch something if we'd gone.

Out for tea tonight in Durham before tango class. I'm sure I can find something healthy?

Have a good day everyone.

OP posts:
gotredonyou · 16/02/2015 12:14

We watched 50 shades on Saturday night- wouldn't recommend! I haven't read the books so nothing to compare to apart from the hype but I just didn't think they were very good actors so the story wasn't believable. We were surrounded by women gasping and saying 'oooh look at his bum'- cringe worthy! x

SoonToBeMrsB · 16/02/2015 12:29

Oh god, PLEASE NO MORE 50 SHADES TALK!

I almost cleared the salon on Saturday when I was getting my nails done - the nail technician asked if I was going to see it and my rant that ensued caused the place to go completely silent for a good five minutes. There was practically tumbleweed Blush

Anyhoo, yesterday was a bit of a cheat day as DP and I finally went to Five Guys for burgers. We have been to Five Guys in NYC so I was in no real rush to see if it lived up to the hype but I swear the burgers were just as good as their American counterparts. Although it was £20 for two bacon cheeseburgers (double patties) and a drink between us, whereas we paid about $20 for the same plus fries in the Five Guys at Times Square. Not cheap.

Food today has been planned, here's hoping I can actually stay on the wagon. I'm gripping it by my fingertips at the moment Sad

B: Apple and cinnamon overnight oats, coffee

L: Broccoli and stilton soup, 2x ryvita with tomato and herb tuna, Petits Filous Big Pot, 2x clementines

D: Buffalo-style chicken with brown rice and salad

S: Banana, Nakd bar

WhatsGoingOnEh · 16/02/2015 13:55

Afternoon, ladies-who've-lunched-too-much. :) There's a new Groupon today that offers 28 days of Diet Chef meals (breakfast, lunch and dinner) delivered to your house for £95, compared to normal price of £245. I'm quite tempted... If anyone's keen, the link is here: www.groupon.co.uk/deals/national-deal/gg-diet-chef-ltd-1-4/56389214

I'm properly on track today (but it's only lunchtime; my bad time is evening). I've had blueberries for breakfast, and fat-free chicken/tomato soup for lunch. Tonight it's smoked salmon and salad. It's also the night my Dad is cooking pizza and pan-bloody-cakes for everyone as they can't do tomorrow. Argh. So I'm taking along the salmon and a fruit-sodding-salad.

My 11y/o DS is really quite lardy lately (bless him) so we are going on our healthy plan together. And I'm off to the gym in a minute (eek) to book my personal training sessions. I'm going to get them to show me how to do weights.

Have a great day! And if you want those SW books, please just PM me your address.

Dowser · 16/02/2015 17:07

I could do with some up to date info on SW.

I'm still on the old style plan....don't know where my books are!

I don't know what the super easy is and how many sins youu can have.

We are home. I've had just fruit and juice. Was starving and the chocolate from a lion bar fell into my mouth.

Those m and s juices are really sickly. They will be mixed with proper veg tomorrow so I couldn't have as much of them as I'd like.

Starting on the washing now :-(

News from Wales isn't good either. Wish I was back there.

dancingwitch · 16/02/2015 22:03

Finally a good day. DC off school & friends over so I did cottage pie and apple crumble for lunch and I served myself lots of filling & little topping for both. A few grapes this afternoon & that was it. And I have just done the Shred.

WhatsGoingOnEh · 16/02/2015 22:20

Dowser, if you PM me your address, I'll send you the books this week.
