Anyone else need to lose weight for their wedding?

I need to lose at least 2 stone by June.

Tbh I haven't done too bad over Christmas and haven't gained afaik? avoided scales.

I'm 5ft 8 and weigh just over 13 stone. Am a size 14. My stomach is my worst area, legs and arms are fine as are boobs.

I only want to get to a size 12 as don't look so good as a 10. I used to be really skinny when younger and hated it.

Anyone else need to lose weight for their wedding? I'm not even looking at dresses yet until I lose some.

Downstairs Yeah I always get bloated around my TOTM so I think that's why I usually weigh more/the same due to water retention. Lets see if my theory works at this weeks weigh in!!

First fast day of the week today..menu-
B- Cambridge lemon yoghurt bar
L- Ham Salad
D- Courgetti carbonara

Dowser · 10/02/2015 09:10

Things as well as me are going pear shaped.

Away from home so no green juice at lunch.

Breakfast was hard boiled organic egg and piece of cheese

Lunch was a small chicken curry

Dinner a morrisons salad. Went late in the day so not a lot left, so loaded up with sweet corn, onion Bhaji etc

Not the best choice really and then a large gin and tonic.

Very sad down here. Cousins husband has terminal cancer. He's changed so much since I saw him just two months ago.

Heartbreaking .

Losing weight is the last of the worries when faced with this and they won't be at my wedding.

:-(

SoonToBeMrsB · 10/02/2015 09:24

I weighed in a day early because I was like a kid on Christmas Eve and I've lost... drumroll please... 4.25lbs! Shock

That was after only one fast day but I think what really helped was fuelling my body properly for my training. Previously I've tried to work that hard at bootcamp or in the gym while eating 1500kcal and I've been a grumpy bitch, hungry, craving and it always leads to a binge. No wonder - my "net calories" were about 900kcal a day, which just isn't enough to live on. I haven't had a binge since Thursday (a big deal for me considering how bad I've been), my cravings are at bay and my workouts are the best they've ever been. I've been eating 1900-2000kcal with at least 600kcal burn at the gym.

Fasting can take a back seat just now, I'm going to focus on eating 1700kcal on non training days, closer to 2000kcal on gym days and maintaining my exercise levels. My TDEE (factoring in my current level of activity) is 2600kcal to maintain so I'll see what next weigh in brings Smile

Sorry to hear your sad news Dowser Flowers It definitely puts things into perspective when you're faced with situations like that.

Well done on your loss Soon So are you not persevering with the 5:2? Don't you think your loss had something to do with that fast day taking your weekly average cals down?

My FD is going ok...hungry but not as much as last week..looking forward to experimenting with some low cal cooking tonight :D x

SoonToBeMrsB · 10/02/2015 16:42

Not really, the scales only started moving after a couple of days of higher cals and exercising Smile

FreakinScaryCaaw · 10/02/2015 17:28

So sorry about your cousin's dh Dowser x Lost my sister and friends to the bastard cancer. Hate it!

Dearly beloveds! Please may I join you? I'm getting married on June 27 and I NEED to lose weight! I'm 11st today (ARGH) but my dress (which is simple and slinky and has NO CORSETRY dammit) will look a million times better if I'm 9st 6ish. Is 20lbs in 4 months possible?? I'm getting on a bit now (43) and weight is definitely harder to lose.

Please can I join you all? I'm starting to get so stressed about this! Thanks

SoonToBeMrsB · 10/02/2015 19:17

Hi Whatsgoingon, of course you can join us! June is so close, how exciting!

5lbs a month is definitely doable Smile

dancingwitch · 10/02/2015 23:23

Dowser so sorry to hear that.

Soon well done, that's a huge loss

Whats - welcome!

Shepherds pie & veggie for lunch; egg mayo sandwich for tea & a g&t in the pub.

Dowser · 10/02/2015 23:37

Thanks you all for your kind thoughts.

Much appreciated.

Diets out the window :-(

Welcome WGOE

SoonToBeMrsB · 11/02/2015 07:31

I'm so sorry Dowser Sad

Apparently I can't be trusted not to have fast days because I had a Greggs sausage roll, two packets of crisps and a bar of chocolate instead of dinner last night Blush so today is a fast day:

B: Exante chocolate mint shake

L: Tesco Ultraslim raspberry meal bar

D: Exante banana shake

gotredonyou · 11/02/2015 09:09

Morning all, fast day went well yesterday- made courgetti carbonara which was bearable. First ever Zumba class tonight :D

Todays menu-
B granola, almond milk & berries
L Tuna Mayo Salad, nakd bar
D Slow cooked chicken & chorizo casserole, cous cous.

SoonToBeMrsB · 11/02/2015 10:00

Ooh, good luck at Zumba gotred!

Dowser · 11/02/2015 10:53

Hard boiled egg for breakfast

Faggot and peas for lunch

Whatever...after that!

Going up to Ponty this afternoon with my lovely cousin to do some shopping. Nice little break for her.
She's looking a lot more like herself since we got here. Just wish we could do more for her husband.

He sits on the sofa all day just numbed with morphine.

Even when we visit he's in his own world as if we aren't there.

Beyond sad :-(

Hi everybody :)

Please may I join you, I did introduce myself at the begining of the threat however I have been away yo yo dieting since. In 6 weeks I've still managed to lose 8lb, that's something I guess! I'm now 10st 8 lb and fed up as it's been weeks since I've lost anything, tut. I've bought a months supply of slim fast shakes, 2 of those a day and a healthy meal for dinner. Hope it works as really want to be trim for my wedding in August!

FreakinScaryCaaw · 11/02/2015 16:06

Hi Whats and Missq and welcome. Whats, my wedding celebration is on 26th June (my birthdaay) but we get married on 16th.

Dp and I have been in to Durham today. Went on a health walk for 1.5 hours, it's an organised one. Really interesting too. Then for lunch in Oldfields which is a fantastic restaurant, does good deals though. I had onion fritters with salad then haddock fishcakes with carrots celery and savoy cabbage, stunning food. No pud but we did go in a cafe and i had some teabread.

So not a fantastic day low carb wise but I danced my socks off last night and walked a lot today so have burned some calories.

Think I'll have a nana nap as am shattered.

Well done all of you. I'm not stepping on the scales oaas AF hasn't arrived yet and am so bloated.

Forgot to say bought our wedding rings Smile and booked the table for the wedding meal at the restaurant we ate in today.

Dowser · 11/02/2015 17:06

Congrats on getting your rings FSC. It's all moving forward.

Cousin didn't come with us after all today. Her husband felt too I'll so needed her with him.

So went on our own. The day felt a bit flat after that as we usually enjoy our little trips to Ponty..

Diet not too bad so far, if you ignore the six sweets I had.

Definitely an emotional eater.

Welcome back miss qwerty and well done on fab weight loss. What a star. 8 lbs ! I'd be happy with that.

rusmum · 11/02/2015 17:08

Cani join in

amroc18 · 11/02/2015 17:20

Sorry not to have been around for a bit-had a manic last week of mat leave. Managed to lose 1lb though.

Sorry to hear your news Dowser that is very sad xx

FSC well done on the rings. We still have ours to get suppose should do that soon.

Today was quite good, banana for brekkie, soup for lunch, then had a French fancy mid afternoon! Will hae to try and think of something sensible for dinner to get back on track. Does anyone else struggle with thinking what to have all the time?

SoonToBeMrsB · 11/02/2015 17:24

Whoops.

Thank you everyone for your lovely welcomes! And high-five to all the summer brides on here (except that sets my bingo wings a-flapping).

We booked our reception today! Very, very short notice but it was because I'd always had doubts about the first place we'd reserved (a pub) and were very lucky to find somewhere much nicer (hotel) that still had availability. It feels real now!

But then I came home and tried on my wedding dress again, and took photos. FARKING FARK, I look HIDEOUS in it. I have such a long way to go! I either have to buy a new dress (which I can't really, as our new reception is a grand more than our old one) or, basically, eat nothing at all for 4 months and LIVE in the gym. :-(

I'm tempted to post a photo here so you can all hold me accountable... But it's SO SO BAD that I'm really too ashamed...
