Anyone else need to lose weight for their wedding?

FreakinScaryCaaw · 29/12/2014 14:10

I need to lose at least 2 stone by June.

Tbh I haven't done too bad over Christmas and haven't gained afaik? avoided scales.

I'm 5ft 8 and weigh just over 13 stone. Am a size 14. My stomach is my worst area, legs and arms are fine as are boobs.

I only want to get to a size 12 as don't look so good as a 10. I used to be really skinny when younger and hated it.

Anyone else need to lose weight for their wedding? I'm not even looking at dresses yet until I lose some.

Just watching now on the really channel, ' shedding for the wedding'.

Don'cha just love the Americans.

ATeaPleaseBob · 24/01/2015 10:24

Thanks Dowser! My plan is to eat less crap and do more exercise.

I'm cutting down on bread, eating less chocolate /crisps, smaller portions, more veg, more water and only drinking alcohol on weekends.

I haven't seen Shedding for the wedding. I should watch it for inspiration.

I attempted a beginners hiit workout I found on youtube this morning. I couldn't do all of it though and I found it a bit boring. I think they're for people fitter than myself Smile

Dowser · 24/01/2015 11:30

Sounds like a good plan.

Wouldn't bother with the tv show. It was the usual sugar, schmaltzy lets coat everything in saccharine show that the' us ' love to churn out.

It was also one of those shows where they pit one couple against another so that the couple that shed the most weight get a dream wedding and the others get to dream on.

Would be my worst nightmare lol.

' hey honey! Lets get married on tv'

' okey dokey my little slice of pumpkin pie. So what do we have to do?'

' oh just shed enough weight between us to make another person in front of 50 million viewers'

' hey that sounds really cool sugar tits lets do it'

Lol. I don't think so!

5madthings · 24/01/2015 18:41

My plan is move more, eat less, trying to cut down on the snacking!

Just back.from a 5.2 mile run now to.get ready for a meal out, am starving have only had two slices of toast all day, so can have a nice meal.and.a.drink.tonight!

Dowser · 25/01/2015 10:23

Did I blow it by having that one egg and bacon omelette at 10 pm last night.

Hope not.

Haven't Totted up the calories yet as I'm up and out for the day!

Have a good day everyone. Make good choices.

amroc18 · 25/01/2015 14:20

Hi ATPB cool you have the same date!

Will keep on episodes of say yes to the dress rather than shedding for the wedding Wink

Hopefully the omelette won't make a difference too much Dowser if you're being good in big picture. Just back from a day and night away with family - eaten (and drunk) far too much - back on wagon now! Going to have stir fry veg and quorn for tea.

And dress shopping Wednesday argh!

Hope everyone is having a good Sunday

Dowser · 25/01/2015 19:24

Yes lovely day today . I've had a good day and then a wetherspoons mixed grill and g and t.

No sausage ( wheat based) and no chips ( prob wheat in them as well) so just meat, meat and more meat and peas.
Meat was free on SW original so I shall be governed by that lol. Also didn't eat the mushroom and tomato. No doubt soaked in fat.

Im in the for long haul ( sept ) so no point in stressing as long as I climb back in the saddle.

Which I already have. No more food tonight.

dancingwitch · 25/01/2015 20:36

Sorry, I have been reading but just not had a chance to post. Has the mobile site gone weird for anyone else?
I continue to be grumpy about my weightloss, a lot of it is tied into just how impossibly hard it is for me to lose weight as I have PCOS so, try as I might, it takes forever and I have had enough of constantly being on a diet. Should daring to have a cake or a piece of chocolate really destroy a week's good work?! It seems to does.

Fast day on Friday; yesterday was 2 Weetabix, a banana, soup & a roll for lunch, a ramekin of bolognase with peas for tea and a glass of Prosecco & 2 diet cokes at a party in the evening; today Aqua Fit, roast chicken for lunch (mounds of veg, a good portion of chicken, 2 roast potatoes, a roast parsnip & half a bacon roll) followed by bread & butter pudding; tea was going to be soup but I ended up having 3/4 of a cheese toastie that DD didn't eat and a carrot. That'll be it for me today. Fast day again tomorrow.

FreakinScaryCaaw · 25/01/2015 22:19

Hi all am back.

I haven't been totally horrendous. I did have some junk food. Plus some apple crumble and custard last night. Large portion

I did low carb at breakfast with black coffee. But.... I had KFC pulled chicken at 4pm at the services. Then dp had made me a low carb dinner which was lush.

Exercise was lots and lots of walking around London. My feet were killing me! It was nice though. Plus walked around Harry Potter studio yesterday.

Back on track tomorrow.

We can do it Smile

Gah! Having resisted the flapjack we made this morning all day, I just had a piece. That's not going to help, is it? It was delicious. I think it is one of my favourite foods.

FreakinScaryCaaw · 25/01/2015 22:32

There's a place in Darlington that do cherry flapjacks. They're amazing, so moist. The taste is out of this world. I don't even have a sweet tooth but can't resist them. I avoid Darlo market Grin

Back on track today after the wetherspoons meat feast.

Nice to have you back FSC. We are doing Harry potter in may so hope it's good.

Flapjacks. Husbeasts favourite....but hates cherries. Moi! I'd love them especially with coconut as well.

Drool!

Have a good day everyone. Make some good choices . Don't give in to temptation!

Morning all, apologies again for radio silence over the weekend. Saturday involved oatmeal raisin cookies and mini eggs but yesterday was perfect - I even dragged my lardy arse into work to use the gym! 5km on the crosstrainer, some ab work and then legs on the scary machines. Apparently I can leg press 80kg (176lbs), which is pretty cool. I'm focusing more on MFP than WW points at the moment and my membership is almost up, so I'm considering not renewing it. I'm enjoying tracking macros, etc and calorie counting keeps my fruit intake in check whereas on WW I can put away about 500kcal of fruit a day on top of my points Blush I'm sticking to 1500-1600kcal a day, slightly more if I have a hard workout (bootcamp is roughly 600kcal an hour burn).

Anyhoo, today looks like this:

B: Apple and cinnamon overnight oats, coffee

L: 2x ryvita with tomato and herb tuna, carrot sticks with 50g houmous, berries with Yeo Valley full fat yoghurt

D: 2x pork steaks with a homemade honey and mustard glaze, salad, blue cheese

S: 2x tangerines, another coffee

gotredonyou · 26/01/2015 11:20

Morning All,

Had a good weekend for food & exercise apart from the couple of handfuls of popcorn at the cinema sat night

Really want a good loss on Friday so going to try and exercise every night!

Todays menu-
B Granola, Berries & Almond milk
L Roast chicken, Salad & Chilli chutney
D More chicken, Cous cous & roasted Veg.

Never watched shedding for the wedding but did anyone ever watch Bridalplasty?? It was on a couple of years ago and was the worst concept ever but so enjoyable! It was basically brides to be competing each week for a different plastic surgery then the woman who won had a total body transformation and her dream wedding!! x

dancingwitch · 26/01/2015 21:52

A much better day today as I actually stuck to my fast. Leek & potato soup for lunch with bread. And a mouthful of pavlova.
Soon what is your overnight oats recipe?

FreakinScaryCaaw · 26/01/2015 23:21

Hi all,
Had a good day today. Been at work for 13 hours but managed to eat soup and a couple of ryvitas. Came home to Ceviche made by dp. Gorgeous.
Had plain yoghurt and bluberries for pud.

Exercise was 2 power walks both an hour.

Am dancing tomorrow night and will make good choices food wise.

I've reached a plateau weight wise.

Good luck to everyone.

OP posts:
Dowser · 27/01/2015 06:43

I wonder why you've reached a plateau. Has anything changed?

Daughters friend has quite a bit to lose . She had two great weight losses then stayed the same but I wonder if that happens as the body re balances itself.

The hard bit to get my head around is my life is not just about this diet. It's living and losing weight , otherwise we become crashing bores. It's been easy while I've been under the weather and not socialising but when the days get warmer and longer and we get out more that's when meals get a bit haphazard. Will have to take more picnics I presume.

Arrrghhhh !

It does my head in sometimes.

5madthings · 27/01/2015 08:05

My weight is plautoing about as well, haven't.eaten as we as I could have bit I am looking slimmer, more toned. I think.I.am gaining muscle with the running, another 4.5 miles last night and.have a 50 min pace running session tonight. Feeling shattered as my sleep is crap at moment due to.itchy eczema and coughing children.

FreakinScaryCaaw · 27/01/2015 08:27

5madthings that's the same with me. My stomach area is much more toned. My legs and arms are trim anyway and it's my stomach that needed reducing.

I am very active even in work so maybe the muscle is why I'm heavier than I look?

Today will be good as I'm going to lunch with a friend but they do cajun chicken breast with salad so it's low carb. Tonight will be soup as another friend is picking me up to go dancing. So plenty of exercise.

OP posts:
FreakinScaryCaaw · 27/01/2015 08:27

That sounded garbled, I'm eating soup as it's not too heavy for dancing Grin

OP posts:
5madthings · 27/01/2015 08:31

I just measured my waist and it's an inch smaller. My legs are fairly toned anyway, I cycle/walk everywhere. But my thighs are looking more defined.

Muscle weighs more than fat so I figure it must be the gaining muscle whilst losing fat, I am def smaller/trimmer regregardles of what the scales say and other people are commenting on it so... I am going to try not to weigh so often everyday and stick to once a week. Plus I have my period at moment, I normally gain when I am on. Very odd to not be bloated like usual, I think the running must help that as well.

dancingwitch · 27/01/2015 09:03

Woop woop! I am back to 10st 7, which was the top end of my pre-Xmas normal range. Aiming for 10st 5, my pre-Chrostma normal weight, for the end of the month.
I randomly pocked up the Shred yesterday in our village shop as they were selling it half price. My current copy sticks in random places which gets really annoying. Of course, I no longer have an excuse not to do it.
Planning on chicken salad for lunch & salmon with noodles & vet for tea. I'm not sure what to do about breakfast as I didn't have time before I left & am still running late so the work canteen will have closed by the time I get there. The coffee shop will be open but they only sell cake. Can I get through until 12.30 having not eaten since lunch yesterday?
Sympathies for all of you on a plateau. They are so frustrating.

gotredonyou · 27/01/2015 10:28

Morning all! You all sound to be doing great...I managed to do some situps/squats/planking last night but my fiancé just sits and laughs at me because I never look right exercising lol When my mum comes back from France second week of Feb we've decided to try Yoga & Zumba classes as hopefully that will push me to exercise!
Todays menu-
B- Porridge & banana
L- Chicken Salad & Chilli chutney
D- Baked Cod, Mash & Veg.

SoonToBeMrsB · 27/01/2015 11:00

dancingwitch

My overnight oats are just 50g Tesco organic jumbo oats (normal porridge oats go really sludgy and like baby food), 100ml milk, 50g greek yoghurt and leave to soak overnight. In the morning I add in whatever I fancy, usually PB2 and chopped banana or cinnamon and stewed apples Smile

Dowser · 27/01/2015 11:19

Well I've had my first session in front of my SAD lamp so fingers crossed it works.

A bit more energy will mean I can move a bit more and maybe lose some lbs a bit quicker.
