Anyone else need to lose weight for their wedding?

I need to lose at least 2 stone by June.

Tbh I haven't done too bad over Christmas and haven't gained afaik? avoided scales.

I'm 5ft 8 and weigh just over 13 stone. Am a size 14. My stomach is my worst area, legs and arms are fine as are boobs.

I only want to get to a size 12 as don't look so good as a 10. I used to be really skinny when younger and hated it.

Anyone else need to lose weight for their wedding? I'm not even looking at dresses yet until I lose some.

It's weird- savoury snacks don't interest me at all- If I could live off sweet things I would!!

Dowser · 22/01/2015 09:50

Mrs B...I think we are all struggling a bit at the moment.

Your menu sounds good.

My GP has always said to me to eat protein when you crave sweet stuff. Sometimes I take her advice lol!

Dowser · 22/01/2015 09:54

Sent you a pm FSC

Dowser · 22/01/2015 09:59

Me too got red. I love making desserts as well but since giving up wheat totally 3 years ago I rarely bother now.

Now and again I make OH his favourite boiled fruit cake but he's put weight on as well!

I sometimes make it with a gluten free flour but I much prefer working with a gluten flour.

I miss making bread :-(

FreakinScaryCaaw · 22/01/2015 23:32

I've just looked at MN sorry I didn't see your pm, have replied Smile

I've done well today food wise. Had Cajun chicken and salad in a pub at lunch. Tonight Ceviche again made with crayfish. Delicious!

Exercise was dancing. We've not long been home. I did the man's part for the beginner's lesson and found it pretty easy. Danced a lot.

Snacks cheese and oatcakes.

Sounds like you're doing great FSC.

Where's the merry band of brides this morning?

Tried on dresses. Keeping them come what may. They may act as a bit of an incentive...who knows.

Measured my bust, it appears to be down an Inch and my waist seems to have lost the inch it found , so it's back to the beginning.

Hard to tell but my jips may have lost 1/2 inch.. Oh no it hasn't. Just had forgotten how much it was originally.

Gawd it's a long slow process for me. I haven't gone saggy yet lol!

Dowser · 23/01/2015 12:03

Hips! Not lips. Pips! Or anything else.

Dowser · 23/01/2015 12:13

Sounds like that young mans body may have been found ...:-(

SoonToBeMrsB · 23/01/2015 12:25

Morning all, I've not been able to check in because I've had to do work (ACTUAL work, on work time! Urgh, the cheek of it! Wink) and I was forty minutes late in this morning due to several unexplained train cancellations Angry

I'm here though, food has been tracked and I'm feeling okay. Super busy days tend to keep me out of the snack drawer anyway.

FreakinScaryCaaw · 23/01/2015 14:00

Yes Dowser Euan's been found Sad I've been following the story since it broke. His friends handed me a leaflet in town and it really got to me. I'm in tears most days, just have been again. So bloody tragic. I have a son going to Uni next year and it's really worrying. You just want to look after them, always. But you have to let them go. Poor Euan's family, doesn't bare thinking about.

Hi Amroc. Good to have you aboard. We've got a bit quiet apart from a hard core group at the centre.

How are you planning to lose it?

It's not an easy time to lose it with thecold weather, but socially for me it's the quietest time so I suppose the best time.

In the summer its trips out going to tea shops and supplementing ( wrecking ) my diet with gluten free brownies.

As they are probably about 300 cals one or three of these each week is probably enough to keep me at the same weight or gain.

SoonToBeMrsB · 23/01/2015 19:38

Hello Amroc, welcome! Ooh, May isn't too far away, how exciting!

5madthings · 23/01/2015 20:47

Welcome amroc one of my best friends is getting married that day! And I am getting married on 28th may :)

Another pound down today and have had people notice that I am losing weight, though I think its more toning up. 5 mile run tomorrow, good job as I have a belated birthday meal out tomorrow evening!

amroc18 · 23/01/2015 21:15

Aw thanks guys excited to be on board Smile

On slimming world at the moment, lost 1 stone since November but slowing a bit. Dowser I am more of a cake in winter girl, comfort eating in the warm lol Blush

5madthings well done on your loss it's always lovely when people notice!

Was doing ok this week until lunch today and put for a birthday dinner for my cousin tomorrow eeek! Will just have to damage limitation on the Wine!

Dowser · 23/01/2015 21:29

SW is good.

Especially if you haven't done the dieting route before. It certainly gives you the basics without being faddy.

I swore after losing my weight with them and spending xxx pounds, not to pay anyone else to lose weight. After all I had all the info and the facts.

It was up to my willpower.

I have wavered, but made sure my will power kicks in.

Here's a question. I have 200 spare calories left. I've had 3 pieces of counted in dairy milk and 1 mint stick. I could spend them on more choc but I'm not too bothered to be honest. ( weird) what would you spend them on?

amroc18 · 23/01/2015 22:04

Either a cadburys creme egg or as much cheese as that would get me lol Smile

What did you decide to go for in the end?

Dowser · 23/01/2015 23:18

I make jellies from gelatine powder and fruit juice. You get 8 to a pint of juice . I put them in paper cups with fruit at the bottom. Works out at about 100 cals. I can't stand artificial sweeteners.

Saved the rest in case I go over another day in the week.

Don't worry. If iwas hungry I would have had them!

We make everything from scratch so sometimes it's hard to calculate the cals. OH loves to cook and I love to let him ;-) so if I was to Insist on him weighing every ingredient , he would down tools and we don't want that .lol

So that which I can't calculate I make an educated stab at so some days I may be a bit over or a bit under as long as I'm moving in the right direction the weight must come off.....eventually.

I don't get weighed as I celebrate my weight loss...with something chocolatey.

Btw. I found a bar of dairy mik with Daim bar in the fridge . You get so much more mouth feel factor with that. 2 pieces are about 60 cals. First you let the choc melt in your mouth and then you have the nice butterscotch pieces which lasts a lot longer.

Definitely more bang for your buck, or more choc for your suck! Lol

Gawd that sounds dreadful!

Dowser · 23/01/2015 23:26

Cadbury creme egg 177.

Do they still do little toffee eggs. Now they were my favourite.

I do remember a woman on this morning who lost a huge amount of weight and every day she had a creme egg.

Another woman at slimming world saved her sins for a whisky each night.

It's all about whatever floats your boat isn't it?

Have you got a dress yet Amroc?

Dowser · 23/01/2015 23:31

I also make my own kefir. So I had a few spoons of that as well.

( got to look after the inner health)

FreakinScaryCaaw · 24/01/2015 06:34

Morning all, am off to London for the weekend so may not be on until Sun/Mon?

I'm not sure how my diet will go, I'll have to see what options are available for dinner?

Good luck everyone, chat soon.

Hi all, I'd like to join too.

Amroc, I'm also getting married on 23rd May! Less than four months now ??

Yesterday I weighed 11st 1. I'm 5ft 8. I'd like to lose about a stone.

I'm going for a little run now as it looks like the snow /ice has finally gone.

Hope everyone has a healthy and happy day ??

ATeaPleaseBob · 24/01/2015 08:47

Aargh, still icy outside. I went out and came straight back.

Dowser · 24/01/2015 09:23

Hello ATPB, welcome to our merry band of brides to be.

Four months should give you ample time.

How are you planning to lose it?

Have a lovely weekend FSC and don't worry too much about your diet, just enjoy yourself and then get back on the bandwagon as soon as you get back.

Usually that temporary weight is mainly fluid anyway. Was watching that botched up bodies the other night where a man had lots of saggy skin and as the surgeon was cutting it away he said that large people grow more blood vessels and they enlarge so when the weight is lost they are still there so he has to be careful when cutting away the fat.

So just think, you're away for two days enjoying LIFE , cos that's what it's all about and any weight you put on won't have time to grow big blood vessels yet. ;-)

I'm just thinking about getting up before I start to work on reducing the fat!
