Anyone else need to lose weight for their wedding?

I need to lose at least 2 stone by June.

Tbh I haven't done too bad over Christmas and haven't gained afaik? avoided scales.

I'm 5ft 8 and weigh just over 13 stone. Am a size 14. My stomach is my worst area, legs and arms are fine as are boobs.

I only want to get to a size 12 as don't look so good as a 10. I used to be really skinny when younger and hated it.

Anyone else need to lose weight for their wedding? I'm not even looking at dresses yet until I lose some.

Protein in the nuts in my homemade granola & a little in my yoghurt- although I'll be sticking to almond milk as the soya yoghurt was horrible!!

I powerwalk mon/wed/fri and tue/thurs i'm going to start doing squats, situps & arm exercises with weights. x

SoonToBeMrsB · 15/01/2015 12:14

Soya yoghurt has always freaked me out, I'd like to cut down on dairy but I don't like almond milk in coffee so I'm not sure where I'd even start!

Dowser · 15/01/2015 12:32

Some people put coconut oil in their coffee. I don't drink coffee so I can't speak for the taste. Coconut milk maybe?

I like coconut but it's not to everyone's taste.

Yes I'm not one for soya products. There's a lot of controversy about it too.

Next Friday is D Day. I'll be trying on some of the tight ish dresses I bought in the sales, so if they fit they are staying. If not , I'll be trotting them back.

Tempted to try them todAy but will hang on . Hopefully for a better result.

Dowser · 15/01/2015 12:36

Just looked at the date. I'm now two weeks in .

gotredonyou · 15/01/2015 12:51

I really miss yoghurt so wanted to find a dairy free alternative but its impossible! I don't drink coffee- just black/herbal tea's. I'm also missing chocolate a lot- hence why I am having a daily nakd bar to give me that sweet craving! x

Dowser · 15/01/2015 13:01

I'm still having a ( counted in piece or two of ) chocolate. Don't know if I've lost weight yet. I only have herbal/ fruit teas.

On another note. I've just grabbed a dress out of the wardrobe. It's a Planet dress, bought in charity shop and never tried on. Worn it once or twice but it was tight and haven't worn it for a while as its a winter dress.

Well, it's on and it's tight and it's bloody stopping on too ( got my rebel head on today)

Why?

Because I can lol!

Couldn't find a size on It. Feels like a 10 but suspect its really a fourteen.

If I wear looser clothes when I'm not in the zone ( ie eat, think , sleep diet) I'll eat until I fill them.

It'll serve as a reminder that I can't go mad!

Fast Day today, doing roast pork for dinner so will have a little of that with veg, try and avoid the crackling!

dancingwitch · 15/01/2015 13:59

Dowser you scared me with your comment about us being a fortnight in until I remembered I started on 5th. Still, it will strengthen my resolve to stick to my fast day today as the wedding will come around quickly. Also, I discovered a gorgeous Karen Millen dress in my wardrobe which I want to wear on 24th, something I'll only be able to do if I lose a few more pounds and have a flat stomach on the day.
Breaded haddock (oven cooked), mash & mounds of veg for lunch. That should be me done for today.

I did some hoovering up at my daughters this afternoon.

I hoovered up some cheesy topping from a pizza.

I hoovered up the marzipan edges from some batten berg cake and then

I hoovered up a piece of cheese.

It was a job well done and everything looked a lot tidier when I finished ;-)

FreakinScaryCaaw · 15/01/2015 22:32

Downstairs it's salsa jive (or Ceroc). Find a class near to you and just go. You don't need a partner. Dp and a friend have gone along tonight. I've not long been in from work. Lots of people who travel with work find a class and just go. It's fun Smile

I've had a good day food and exercise wise.

B - porridge and blueberries
L - Beans and sausage
D - bowl of veg chilli
Supper - I've just had 4 crackers with cheese and a tiny glass of red wine. No snacks.

I power walked for 2.5 hours with a client. 1 hour and 1.5 hours. I can really feel it now so will really feel it in the morning!

Well done everyone I think we're doing pretty good Smile

Yep, I think I'm in around the 1200 mark, maybe slightly over....even with all that hoovering.

I'd do a food choice based on SW.

The reason? It's only early days yet to jump off the wagon. If you can jump back on again swiftly then that's ok but I'm not like that, I have to get my head in the zone.

I would have a protein brekkie, a light lunch maybe a cottage cheese and prawn salad and then save carbs and syns for meal

Done that way, it shouldn't impact too much.

gotredonyou · 16/01/2015 10:26

Yeah I would do the same! Eat light all day then have a tasty but healthy meal.

Todays Menu
B- Banana & Egg pancake
L- HM Veg Soup, Nakd Bar
D- Baked Haddock, New potatoes & Veg.

Lost 2lbs this week :D so down to 11.6 xx

OkyDoke · 16/01/2015 10:40

Lost 1 1/2lbs at weigh in last night! Bit disappointed but at least it's a loss! 12 1/2lbs to go for my first target at the end of March and 6 1/12 to go until end of Feb target!

Dowser · 16/01/2015 10:54

Well done on weight losses everyone.

I said on another thread, I managed to squeeze my bulk into a size 8 dress yesterday. ( obviously not a real size 8 just another victim of vanity sizing as my daughter calls it.) . She is a real size 8 and no way am I as small as her lol

But as I thought it was a 12 or a 14 , I was secretly chuffed when I discovered the label in the side seam.

SoonToBeMrsB · 16/01/2015 10:56

Morning everyone, last night was a monumental fail. I was totally stressed out over some college work, stayed late at work to finish it and ended up eating a doughnut, three miniature heros (Fudge, obviously) AND I got battered sausages on the way home. I'm so embarrassed. I've tracked my day today and I've booked in for spin tonight, plus I'll do some free weights afterwards.

B: Porridge, mango chunks

L: Ham salad with balsamic vinaigrette, 2x tangerines, WW yoghurt

D: Cajun chicken breast, roasted sweet potato, side salad

S: Handful of berries, banana before spinning

gotredonyou · 16/01/2015 11:16

Woo well done Dowser!
Oh dear MrsB- Do you think you might have a problem with binge eating?

Cream cakes in the office today eeek!

SoonToBeMrsB · 16/01/2015 11:33

Yes, I was diagnosed with binge eating disorder almost five years ago and was referred to a therapist until I changed from shift work to 9-5 and could no longer see her. I've struggled for years, most days the urge is so strong I feel like I want to crawl out of my skin.

gotredonyou · 16/01/2015 11:58

wow I didn't know that Shock was this before you lose weight successfully with WW? Maybe the extreme diets don't work because of this xx

SoonToBeMrsB · 16/01/2015 12:08

I struggled with secret eating, binge-starve cycles and weight gain starting when I was about 13. My mum had to get my school trousers one size bigger every year until I reached 15st when I was 18. I lost 35lbs on WW, but went off the rails and gained it all back with interest over about a year. My three year relationship ended when I was 20 and I was referred to therapy to help me with my OCD and BED, but I had to stop after just a few months. Things got a lot better, I moved out of my mum's house and I started using MFP to lose weigh when I was 22 (2012), I got down to 12st 13lbs over a year and managed to maintain around the 13st mark (but never get any lower) until mid-2014, when I started gaining weight again.

I'm now 14st 8lbs and trying really, really hard to fight the urge to binge almost on a minute-by-minute basis. I desperately want to lose the weight but I feel like I'm losing a battle with my own mind and it's a hideous, powerless feeling.

gotredonyou · 16/01/2015 12:13

It seems obvious to me that you need therapy again? Is it something you could afford to pay for outside of work hours? Flowers
