Anyone else need to lose weight for their wedding?

I need to lose at least 2 stone by June.

Tbh I haven't done too bad over Christmas and haven't gained afaik? avoided scales.

I'm 5ft 8 and weigh just over 13 stone. Am a size 14. My stomach is my worst area, legs and arms are fine as are boobs.

I only want to get to a size 12 as don't look so good as a 10. I used to be really skinny when younger and hated it.

Anyone else need to lose weight for their wedding? I'm not even looking at dresses yet until I lose some.

My omelette keeps me going from breakfast till lunch.

It's lunch till dinner I struggle with.

I'm doing green juice for health reasons, alkalising my body, enzymes which are usually killed on cooking, vits and mins etc but might have to have a bit of protein alongside it. Nuts are good but are very calorific. I don't eat chicken for health reasons . think it will have to be nuts. They are a bit more portable.

FreakinScaryCaaw · 13/01/2015 16:01

Hi DownstairsMixup. Good luck with slimming world. I'm sure others said they're doing it?

Dowser nuts are good. And yes very portable.

I've not eaten much yet but need to have something just now. I've had a fat free yoghurt from Lidl. Lemon meringue one tasted very sweet Hmm Just over 100 cals so I'll count it as my snack.

The butternut squash, sweet potato with red curry thai that I did in the SC was nice, I ended up adding cooked sliced chicken and having it with a bit of boiled rice. So easy.

No exercise yet but Hip Hop abs arrived so may do that. Am dancing tonight so that'll be 2 hours exercise or thereabouts? I may leave HHA for tomorrow?

Went for a ten- 15 minute walk in two degree temps. Brrr. Was freezing but it was a change of scenery and a bit of activity.

Gagging for some warm days. Aren't we all.

Hate gyms. Just like to be out in the fresh air walking.

The cafe we went on after was doing coffee and clotted cream scone . In my pre wedding dress diet and before I became gluten free I would have one of those as well. They also do nice fish and chips. I hate going to a cafe just for a drink but am being good.

5madthings · 13/01/2015 18:01

Have eaten well today, a low calorie day and have just done a 3.5 mile run and then some stretching and toning exercises so feeling good :)

Thanks.for the reminder re muller light, I like their no sin yogurts, used to eat them when.I did rosemary connelly after having madthing2, will put them on the shopping list, there was a vanilla one that hit the sweet tooth as a treat.

Dowser · 13/01/2015 19:21

Just had a turkey stir fry with some wild rice and veg cooked by hubby to be! He's determined I'm going to get into a nice slender dress.

No he isn't! I made it up lol but he is very supportive, bless him!

Not sure if I'm going to have room for a jelly.

dancingwitch · 13/01/2015 21:25

A good day today as I skipped breakfast, had pasta bake with salad for lunch followed by a pear & haven't eaten since. I did 5:2 last year so can manage this and have been so busy today that I haven't had a chance to indulge the munchies.

FreakinScaryCaaw · 13/01/2015 23:57

Well done everyone. We can do it Smile

I'm not long back from dancing. Had a really good night.

For tea I had a huge salad, beetroot, lettuce, red pepper, spring onions, cucumber, celery, tomatoes and grated cheese with some balsamic vinegar, bit of salt and some black pepper. It took ages to eat but was really nice.

I had a gin and tonic and fizzy water at the dancing.

Dp's cooking burgers at the moment. He's having one without bread but has onions and mushrooms with it. I may have one too Wink No bread though.

I should go to bed really.

A cheeky weigh in this morning as I woke up & could feel the period bloat had gone. Down to 10st 8. Now aiming for 10st 6 on Monday. So much easier to write it down that actually do it tho!
FSC - that salad sounds delicious.

FreakinScaryCaaw · 14/01/2015 08:46

Well done dancingwitch. I'm on my period too. It's not been as bad this time. My stomach's gone down a lot which I'm glad about as it's my worst area.

Morning all,

All your evening meals sound delicious. I made a Mediterranean veg and chorizo soup last night so going to have that for lunches over the next 3 days. Was planning to go for another powerwalk this evening but we have heavy snow here so might just do my HIIT DVD.

Todays menu-
B- Porridge & Banana
L- Homemade Soup, Pineapple, Nakd Bar
D- Grilled rump steak, Sweet potato & Green Veg.

x

Dowser · 14/01/2015 12:15

Sounds like a good menu there got red.

Had a bit of a wobble last night . Went out and was told that there was some home made soup on offer. I was just nicely up to my calories and drinking soda water...yes I know :-(

So I said to OH yes, I'd like some but I'm stuffed which I thought meant no. Next minute a huge steaming bowlful of broth was put in front of me.

It was delicious but I told him he had to take one for the team so he got most of the huge potato bits and the roll.

How many calories, gawd only knows. I reckon 200 at least .

Next time I won't be so cryptic.

That'll teach me!

gotredonyou · 14/01/2015 12:56

A bit of soup wont hurt you Dowser..do a 20 min walk today and you'll have burnt most of it off :)

Looking forward to my weigh in on Friday but got menu tasting session at our wedding venue on sunday so going to have to work even harder next week if I want a loss!! xx

SoonToBeMrsB · 14/01/2015 13:09

A bowl of homemade soup would not constitute a "wobble" in my mind, I thought you were going to say you raided the biscuit tin! I guarantee you a single bowl of soup will do no harm in the long run.

I had weigh in this morning and lost 1lb, which is good considering I had a few munchie moments and broke out the chocolate. One thing that I am proud of is how I managed to rein it in after I ate the chocolate. Usually I'd eat it and give myself carte blanche to buy a bag of crisps and a sausage roll from Greggs and really have a proper blow out, but this time I ate it and drew a line. I've never been able to do that before.

SantasFavouriteHo · 14/01/2015 13:19

Ok, after Mondays write off (Blush ) yesterday I only had a small bowl of cottage pie, yogurt, options hot chocolate and a kiwi so was ok, think I'm back on the wagon to beautiful dress land!
Today I skipped breakfast, had a cheese and mushrooms omelettes for lunch and am having a small bowl of pork tagliatelle for dinner, its an "eat" day but I think that'll take me right up to my calories

Everyone else seems to be doing really well (in fact most of you are a weight id kill to be even without dieting!)

FreakinScaryCaaw · 14/01/2015 17:31

I've been out for a health walk today, over an hour up and down hills in Durham. Was really nice. Also walked around Durham a lot.

We ate in a cafe and I had Welsh rarebit for lunch and had an apple for breakfast. Ate 2 eclair sweets off my mam. Tonight we've had cheese and crackers (4) so a cheesy day. Not huge amounts of food but not very balanced. We're having steak, cauliflower, brussels and carrots for our dinner.

It sounds like everyone's doing well.

I bought some clothes from Monsoon which are a 14 but fit nice instead of a bit tight. Some of their 14s are tiny. Even one size 16 I picked up looked a lot smaller.

dancingwitch · 14/01/2015 21:57

B - 2 weetabix
L - butternut squash soup with a granary roll
S - salad with loads of veg, smoked mackerel, feta & new potatoes
Snacks - banana & carrot

Only negative was not going on my exercise bike. I've spent the evening sorting out finances instead.

Dowser · 14/01/2015 22:52

I've done a bit of flinging myself about tonight. Just too cold to go walking. Too windy, blowing a gale outside now.

Have been pretty good day today. Maybe a few cals over but not going to worry about them.

Dinner was a nice piece of steak and stir fried with some veg and wild rice to accompany it. I know I'm at my limit so that's it.

Some nice menus from some of you.

You're doing well getting into a monsoon 14 FSC. Think I'd have to have an 18. I think a 16 would be tight on my hips and bum.

Watched that horizon programme on diets tonight. I'm an emotional eater. I eat when happy or sad which is why I don't want to weigh myself.

FreakinScaryCaaw · 14/01/2015 23:21

Nice healthy food from both of you.

I enjoyed the steak dp did. Really need it as AF is quite heavy. I had an Activia yoghurt for pud.

I enjoyed the Horizon programme Dowser. I love stuff like that. DS1 thinks it's all rubbish. He's a gym bunny though and is 17 so pretty cynical Wink

Off to bed now, 2 long shifts to go at work. I hope tomorrow isn't too hard?

Morning all,

Went for another powerwalk last night even though it was FREEZING!
Decided to do some weights tue/thurs to tone up my arms.

Todays menu-
B- Granola, Berries & Soya yoghurt
L- HM Veg soup, nakd bar
D- Chicken & Veg stirfry.

Got menu tasting on sunday eeeek going to try and have small portions of everything. x

SoonToBeMrsB · 15/01/2015 10:03

Morning all! I worked late last night and didn't manage to get to bootcamp, and it's college tonight after work so I'm going to have to really slog it out tomorrow night. I'm still on track with my food and hoping for a nice loss at my next weigh in.

Dowser · 15/01/2015 10:05

Lol at 17 , weight just fell off me.

Might get out and about a bit day today. No snow. Sunny outside. A bit windy but nowhere near as bad as last night.

Just about to have morning omelette. On that programme last night it said the dieters who do best are the ones who have breakfast.

Try getting me to leave the house without it!

Make some good choices everyone. Those dresses are beckoning.

SoonToBeMrsB · 15/01/2015 10:28

Is gotredonyou going to get a row for eating yoghurt, granola and fruit too? Wink Grin

Dowser · 15/01/2015 11:31

Well I'll take up the talking stick, I felt there was no real protein there till evening in got red's menu but who am I to talk when I don't have any protein at lunchtime.

I was so hungry after lunch yesterday, (juice ) I ate some ham and cheese. That was better.

Might have some nuts today. Brazils, contain selenium as I'm sooooo tired!
