Anyone else need to lose weight for their wedding?

FreakinScaryCaaw · 29/12/2014 14:10

I need to lose at least 2 stone by June.

Tbh I haven't done too bad over Christmas and haven't gained afaik? avoided scales.

I'm 5ft 8 and weigh just over 13 stone. Am a size 14. My stomach is my worst area, legs and arms are fine as are boobs.

I only want to get to a size 12 as don't look so good as a 10. I used to be really skinny when younger and hated it.

Anyone else need to lose weight for their wedding? I'm not even looking at dresses yet until I lose some.

Morning all! Yesterday went well until the Munchie Monster came out in the evening. Luckily there was nothing in so I settled for three tangerines, a yoghurt and a low calorie hot chocolate with a slug of Bailey's in it

I feel a bit guilty as I had a binge on Thursday so I need to get a handle on this! I've got a pot of soup on the go for lunches this week, and today looks like this:

B: shredded wheat with banana, coffee and a smoothie that I blitzed up with half a banana, strawberries, frozen cherry and cucumber

L: ham and lentil soup, yoghurt

D: sweet chilli salmon, jasmine rice

S: apple, tangerine x2

Dowser · 11/01/2015 20:17

Sounds ok to me Mrs B.

Had a good day myself today.

B..omelette

L..carvery. No gravy, no Yorkshire, 1.5 roast potatoes

D...tub of asda tomato soup

Snack Ferraro Roche and a about 6 revels

Still got over a 100 cals in the bank in case I need a snackaroonie later lol and I probably will

GingerSkin · 11/01/2015 20:29

FAILED COMPLETELY last night Blush and today

The wine, champagne and endless food flowed all night and we left my friends house at 1.15am, I was pissed Grin

Been rubbish today and felt a bit guilty that I had to go back to bed and leave DP to play with dd all afternoon. I came on yesterday too and had horrible cramps this morning.

Food today:
B - one slice of 50/50 toast with real butter AND Nutella
L - none
D - chippy chips and a kebab Blush Grin
Snacks - ham, cheese triangle, diet coke

Back on it tomorrow, I've done well all week and can tell I've dropped a pound so I won't feel guilty about today and last night.

dancingwitch · 11/01/2015 20:47

Not a great day as i indulged some of my old habits of nibbling leftovers on the DC plate or swiping an extra bit of ice cream as I put it back in the freezer. But I did do 15km on the exercise bike (30mins) so hopefully that will have lessened some of the damage.
B - weetabix
L - 1/6 pizza, 2 mini sausage rolls, 3 cracker breads & ELPH , lots of chopped veg, slice of ham
S - roast ... 2 potatoes, 1 parsnip, 1 Yorkshire, loads of veg, meat followed by Apple crumble & a dollop of creme fraiche and then loads of fruit salad
Snacks - 7 pringles (a whopping 150 cals), 3 smarties, 2 choc buttons, small bit of Lindt chocolate.

Ginger - I have no hope of having a sensible day's eating if I've been drinking. I think you sound quite restrained!

SantasFavouriteHo · 11/01/2015 21:02

What is it about the evening? I can be great all day, eating sensibly when hungry, not really thinking about food but come 8/9pm when the kids have gone to bed - I just go mad for sugar! And we've still got all the christmas stuff left so dipping into that every evening, had about 15 biscuits today just cos I can't get a grip on it...

B - 5 biscuits
L - Mackerel on toast
D - Chicken and salad pitta
S - 10 more biscuits and a options hot chocolate

Not weighing in til the 1st of February, I get a bit obsessed if I do it any more regularly

FreakinScaryCaaw · 11/01/2015 22:35

Hi all, I've been working a 13 hour shift today so haven't been too naughty.

B - few nuts
L - Veg soup and half piece wholemeal HM bread
D - Veg chilli and other half of bread
Supper - HM keema curry and rice

Sounds quite a lot but it wasn't calorie wise. Plus no snacks.

Af is due so I'm bloating. Plus gaining water. I've heard putting epsom salts in the bath can help? Worth a try.

Dowser · 11/01/2015 23:04

Cor what a naughty lot some of you have been today.

Thought it was quiet on here today.

Well tomorrow is another day, so come on girls back on plan.

Green juice helps you to lose bloat water.

I felt a bit thinner today so I've behaved myself.

I think this is why the 1200 cals for me is good. Providing you are honest and write it down . Once you hit the magic number, then just stop eating.

Well that's the theory anyway.

Come on. We can do it ;-)

FreakinScaryCaaw · 11/01/2015 23:07

You're right Dowser we can do it.

What is the green juice exactly?

OP posts:
Dowser · 11/01/2015 23:42

Lettuce, broccoli, kale ( yuck ) cabbage...anything green goes in juicer. We always put a carrot in and apple and a pear just to make it palatable.

Eating the veg raw in juice is really good for you. All the enzymes are there as well as vits and mins. I don't like it but I take it for the health benefits.

Does make you pee a bit more ;-)

FreakinScaryCaaw · 12/01/2015 00:31

Ah ok thanks. I eat a lot of veg for the fibre. Plus haven't got a juicer. I did have years ago but got sick of cleaning it. It's good if you can stick with it though. I thought the green juice must be a brand name?

We've been buying juice in cartons. Beetroot etc.. and have that daily. I'm eating much more fruit and veg than I usually do but making sure I have protein too.

Hopefully Hip Hop abs will be here tomorrow then I can work out to it. It's been dispatched. I'll be going on a long walk with the dog too as am off work. Dancing again Tuesday.

OP posts:
Dowser · 12/01/2015 08:45

Will have to try beetroot. I know what you mean about cleaning it. It's a real pain. I know most of our food should be eaten raw for the enzymes etc and cooking is supposed to kill off a lot of vitamins so my daily glass of juice is my way of doing this.
I can't say I enjoy it though.
The thread has gone quiet I hope people haven't fallen off the wagon already.

Well another new day. Make good choices peeps. ;-)

dancingwitch · 12/01/2015 09:19

A bit disappointed to weigh in at 10st 10 this morning as I'd had a cheeky weigh in on Saturday and been 10st 9 so had hoped to be that or even 10st 8. Yesterday's food obviously put paid to that! I need to have a very good week this week so I can be 10st 7 next Monday & hopefully 10st 5 on 24th when I have a party. I got straight into my gym gear when I got up so will go on the bike later.

SantasFavouriteHo · 12/01/2015 10:04

Signing in! Fast day today so just a small portion of cottage pie later and a hot chocolate after the kids are in bed - no biscuits!
Will have an apple tea now and think of the dress!

FreakinScaryCaaw · 12/01/2015 10:33

Dowser, your pee will go a funny colour but you probably know that Grin

I popped into Aldi this morning, just for the washing up liquid but of course spent more. Dp works for Morrisons and we get dissy so he's never keen to shop elsewhere. I like to pop into Aldi and Lidl though. Anyway, spent £20 Blush and bought some of their low fat breakfast bars and they were ok, 55 cals each. Got lots of veg for 39p a pack too, celery, beetroot, cucumber, lettuce and cherry toms.

Dog's been walked but not a long one as it's blowing a gale here. I was almost blown over and I'm 13 clem! So anyone light stands no chance.

I was on the go a lot yesterday and felt it in my legs this morning. I'll do the hip hop dvd if it turns up in the post? If not I'll do the Shred. Haven't done that in months.

Good luck everyone. It's not easy and I feel quite despondent but am going to keep going. I want to look at my wedding pics and feel happy Smile

SoonToBeMrsB · 12/01/2015 11:24

Morning everyone, I'm clinging to the wagon by my finger tips but I'm on it.

I made a big pot of soup last night and a "clean eating" banana bread so at least I have some nice things to eat. I had a slice of banana bread with butter and jam for breakfast, it felt like I'd really splashed out when it was actually less than 200kcal. Lovely with a cup of coffee.

I have a giant box of chocolates that a colleague brought back from Germany after Christmas and I've actually had to sellotape every side of the lid down to stop myself from demolishing them Blush

dancingwitch · 12/01/2015 11:35

I've hit the wall of tiredness that I always get just before my period starts. I am trying not to fall into a bar of Dairy Milk but it will happen at some point today. Three months ago I didn't buy any in an attempt to avoid eating only to burst into tears at 9pm and drive to the local shop (DP offered to go but I hysterically declared he might buy the wrong one), 2 months ago, I tried to make do with a single bar (one of the 65p ones) but just ended up eating that and the "family size" £1 bar that I usually have.
Damn periods!

FreakinScaryCaaw · 12/01/2015 12:29

Soon What's a clean eating banana bread?

dancing Have you tried weaning onto dark chocolate?I've heard you only need a couple of pieces when it's richer? I'm not a big chocolate fan my demon is crisps. I'm due my period and as a treat have a small bag of Seabrook's sticks 89 cals.

I've just eaten a stick of celery and a muller light lemon yoghurt. I'm not hungry tbh.

I'm going to make soup to snack on. It really fills me up.

OP posts:
FreakinScaryCaaw · 12/01/2015 12:30

dancing I can relate to the tiredness, it's awful. I've been taking the soluble B vitamins and they seem to be helping? You can get the spray too. Are you eating enough protein?

OP posts:
SoonToBeMrsB · 12/01/2015 13:19

FSC it's a recipe from The Kitchen Shed, which is a blog with lots of "clean" recipes, i.e. lower calorie and using cleaner ingredients than traditional recipes. I've played about with the recipe and to make it to my liking I use 130g wholemeal flour, 2 very ripe bananas, 1tbsp coconut oil, 3tbsp honey, 1tsp cinnamon, 1tsp vanilla extract and 2 eggs. Stick it in a lightly greased loaf tin and bake at 180 for 40 mins or so - boom! I stuck pecans on top of last night's one just because they needed used.

gotredonyou · 12/01/2015 14:21

Afternoon all,

Happy to report I had a full weekend on track...bit of a dodgy stomach on Saturday night so I skipped dinner..which meant I had to watch my fiancé eat a huge pizza (he can't cook!) lol

Your banana bread looks great MrsB-i will check out the website.
I made some oat & raisin biscuits using coconut oil- which were surprisingly yummy!

Todays menu-
B- Granola, Fruit & Almond Milk
L- Tuna mayo, Salad, berry nakd bar.
D- Hm meatballs in a tomato & chill sauce with WM spaghetti x

FreakinScaryCaaw · 12/01/2015 14:36

Thanks STBMB it looks lovely. I'll go on that site too.

Your menu looks tasty too gotred.

I've just put sweet pot and butternut squash in the SC and thrown a jar of Lloyd Grossman's thai red curry sauce over it. It'll be ready for dp coming home for 8. I'll stir fry some steak and peppers and put that in at the end. We'll eat it with some boiled rice.

I've just eaten some bubble and squeak made from sweet pot and cauli that was left over from the other day. I used a dot of butter and oil and just fried it up. Very nice Smile

OP posts:
FreakinScaryCaaw · 12/01/2015 14:38

Oh and soup didn't get made. I was going to make this with the sweet pots and butternut squash but got sidetracked Grin

OP posts:
SantasFavouriteHo · 12/01/2015 14:40

Calories already hit for the day in chocolate, does a fast day still count if you eat 500 calories but they're all quality street and dairy milk?
In my defence dp had a slightly scary hospital appointment and I had no sleep last night so am tired and cold and they were there....

SoonToBeMrsB · 12/01/2015 14:53

Santa I did have 300kcal left for wiggle room today but I ate half a bar of the gorgeous hazelnut chocolate that my colleague brings us from Romania so I'm now -16kcal. I guess it's dinner then bed tonight haha! Although I'm on my way to the dentist so we'll see if I can even eat...

FreakinScaryCaaw · 12/01/2015 14:55

Are either of you doing exercise though? That'll minus calories.
