Anyone else need to lose weight for their wedding?

I need to lose at least 2 stone by June.

Tbh I haven't done too bad over Christmas and haven't gained afaik? avoided scales.

I'm 5ft 8 and weigh just over 13 stone. Am a size 14. My stomach is my worst area, legs and arms are fine as are boobs.

I only want to get to a size 12 as don't look so good as a 10. I used to be really skinny when younger and hated it.

Anyone else need to lose weight for their wedding? I'm not even looking at dresses yet until I lose some.

Ive been really bad today, very carb heavy!

b - scrambled egg
l - tuna and a sprinkling of melted cheese on a pitta bread (it came with chips which i didn't even touch!!) and salad
d - bacon and pea pasta salad

naughty naughty naughty!

FreakinScaryCaaw · 09/01/2015 20:32

Doesn't look naughty in my world Lj8893. Depends on portion size of course.

My fish pie's in the oven. Having it with green beans and singing swede. I must tell my mam about that as she buys swede ready chopped (she's 84) but be better for her if she did the singing one.

Eating a bit late I know, been dropping off lads and then had to pick up ds1's stranded friend.

I think not having breakfast is the way forward. On the days I have had it this week, I have been ravenous by 11; on the days I haven't, I've been fine until closer to 12.
Today was no breakfast, tuna mayo sandwiches in a meeting for lunch with an apple mid afternoon, kale soup & a slice of bread & a carrot & a tomato for supper with a pear just now.
I am feeling thinner but am not sure if that is just bloat/water rather than actual weight.

dancingwitch · 09/01/2015 20:40

By the way, is anyone else grumpier as well as tired? I am!

Lj8893 · 09/01/2015 20:56

Portion sizes were on the small side of average. Glad you think that doesn't sound naughty, dp (who's a chef) has spent all evening trying to tell me i shouldn't eat pitta or cheese Hmm think he should stick to cooking rather than diet advice!

FreakinScaryCaaw · 09/01/2015 21:07

No bloat is good Smile

I'm not feeling grumpy but am a bit tired. I'm taking these and B vitamins are supposed to be good for the nervous system although I'm taking these as supposed to help with energy levels?

The French eat a lot of cheese Lj. They're not known for being huge. Pitta is health imo.

I had 3 chocolate covered cranberries while I waited for dinner.

I ate a double portion of shepherds pie with veg. I'm now out of calories.

So, looks I'm going to bed hungry. Not good.

Yes too feeling really tired despite having 7 hours sleep last night.

Drove today. Wouldn't say I was erratic but I really had to concentrate. Hate that.

Did a bit of light exercise. Well I moved some weights around.

Trying to keep fluids up.

How many days have we done. Gawd I've even lost track of the date. Nine I think.

I don't feel any thinner. There have said it out loud. But i don't .if I had scales and got on I would be solo disappointed if I hadn't shifted something.

I think I'm too tired to be grumpy.

Cocoaone · 09/01/2015 22:42

Dowser - are you eating enough?

dancingwitch · 09/01/2015 22:46

I had to do the whole concentrating thing whilst driving earlier in the week & hated it as I knew my reactions were slower. I think that was due to the DC being up in the night rather than food tho.
I forgot to say earlier that I had a couple of dollops of Greek Yogurt but I have also done 10k on the exercise bike.

Lj8893 · 09/01/2015 22:51

Yy i have had a banging headache all day and been so tired! Had to shut my eyes for 5 mins whilst watched a video in my biology lesson at college today Blush

Dowser · 09/01/2015 22:56

Cocoa one. I hope I am . Mfp logged me in at 1200 cals and I'm eating up to the max as long as portions are right and I have the right mix of ingredients etc.

B ....2 egg omelette

L ....juice followed by the home made jelly

D......big portion of home made shepherds pie with asparagus and courgette. This was half a tureen!

Snack....3. Chocolate cranberries

Plenty of water, fruit tea.

Dowser MFP tells almost everyone to eat 1200 and it's far too low for most functioning adults. Work out your BMR and TDEE (Google BMR calculator) and never eat below your BMR as this is your basal metabolic rate, the number of calories you'd burn if you didn't move a muscle all day. MFP tells me to eat 1200kcal but my BMR is closer to 1600!

Dowser · 10/01/2015 11:18

Aw thanks Mrs B

I get

Your BMI is: 26.1
Your BMR is: 5305 kJ / 1268 calories
Your TDEE is: 6366 kJ / 1522 calories

SoonToBeMrsB · 10/01/2015 15:12

So you can eat between 1268 and 1522 and lose weight, more if you exercise. I eat half of my exercise calories if I'm really hungry Smile

SantasFavouriteHo · 10/01/2015 16:01

Was doing so well yesterday til sugar cravings hit around midnight, hit the sweets/biscuits with a vengeance and undid the hard work of the week.
Back on it today though, trying for a fast day, had a fruit tea and a vanilla tea so far and 2 Danish cookies and making a vegetable curry and cauliflower rice, will have a hot chocolate and a yogurt after work and hopefully that'll be me done for the day
How's it going for everyone else?

GingerSkin · 10/01/2015 17:04

I thought that MFP always spun out 1200 calories, it just isn't enough. I'd go with what MrsB said.

Sorry I've been quiet since Thursday, having a bun fight about my wedding in _Chat about kids going home after 9pm anyhow, all sorted now and got some great advice and shocking insults Grin

Yesterday
B - 2 egg omelette
L - porridge (left my left over fajita chicken and veg in the fridge at home in a rush, this was the only thing in my office drawer!)
D - a 'mega brunch' from Sainsburys which was utterly shite. Left half of it and only ate egg and bacon as it was disgusting
Exercise - gym - 10 min rower, 15 min bike, 8 min cross trainer, 60 crunches on the weight machine and the plank for 2 minutes
Snacks - 2 crackers when I got in from the gym as I felt faint!!!

Today
B - bacon, poached egg and tomato on the vine fried in butter
L - fajita chicken and peppers (no wrap)
D - out tonigth for my first ever formal dinner party, v excited and will treat myself. Think we have French onion soup, beef boulgnaise (sp) and poached pear as well as a lot of champagne (on offer in aldi for £10 and it is for a friend who eloped the other week)

GingerSkin · 10/01/2015 17:06

Lj8893 I didn't think your food intake was too bad, obviously pasta isn't great but your breakfast and main were ok, and you didn't touch the chips Grin

Lj8893 · 10/01/2015 17:59

I was very proud of myself for ignoring the chips Grin

dancingwitch · 10/01/2015 19:58

Another good day here. As it is Saturday, I have been tempted to treat myself simply because it's a weekend but have kept myself on track by thinking about the fact my hips are definitely slimmer than they were at the beginning of the week but not as slim as they were in the summer & definitely not as slim as I want them to be when we're on honeymoon.
B - 2 scrambled eggs on 1 slice marmite toast
L - small (as in smaller than I gave the DC) portion pasta with some tomato sauce & then a few prawns & a slice of ham
S - will be chicken stir fry
Snacks - banana, tomato & a drink made with 150ml hazelnut milk & 2 teaspoons hot choc.

Dowser my TDEE & BMR are about 50 above yours. It explains why I gradually put on weight when I thought I was "allowed" 2000 calories a day (which is the official recommended intake for women).

Dowser · 10/01/2015 20:27

Thanks for the help. Had 3 chocs today and 2 teaspoon of ice cream and a gin and tonic.

Having a little dinner tonight to stay on track.

Obviously needed to fall off the wagon today.

Thank god for Mfp for making sure it wasn't too bad.

I think I felt a bit down because I'm onto day 10 and don't feel any thinner. Daft I know.

FreakinScaryCaaw · 10/01/2015 22:20

Sounds like you're all doing well?

I've been at work and just got in. I ate a fair amount but was active. Very long corridors and out walking too.

Was going to waggle some weights around but spent 3 hours looking at photos instead.

Why don't we appreciate ourselves at the time.when we are young and beautiful. I certainly didn't.

Spent most of my time looking at my imperfections. I had nice smile, nice teeth, nice complexion , was about 10 st in some of them with nice flat stomach even after 3 kids. I'd give my right arm to look like that now....

Whoever said youth was wasted on the young wasn't lying.

So perhaps we all should say...I love and appreciate the way I look right now ;-)

FreakinScaryCaaw · 11/01/2015 08:40

George Bernard Shaw said it, he wasn't wrong.

I don't mind the changes tbh. I want to be lighter and more toned but if I don't lose the 2 stone I'm not going to worry. I know I'm loved and am a good person so that's a bonus Wink

Peanuts for breakfast today as rushing to get out to work. Still had to log on here though haha.

I have veg chilli and homemade wholegrain bread for lunch. Tea will be something healthy from the shop.

Exercise will depend on client I'm allocated?
