Standards have slipped!

My little part time job has become almost full time, the kids have been home and it's been too hot to keep my running up. The old healthy eating has slipped too. Sugar has crept in and weight has crept on

So, sept 1st

Weigh
Measure
Start running weekly x 3
Back to bootcamp
Juicing and healthy eating

And I'm going to track the lot on myfitnesspal/mapmyrun/fitbug.com

Oh, and for the first time in going to do the water thing. 2 litres a day. That is new for me but achievable I think

So, gives us about 3 1/2 months til Christmas. Anyone else?

Stealth It's net downhill so really not too bad. We get a taxi up to the top and then run down, so it's kind of the running equivalent of mountain biking- the challenge is more in the trail than the cardio aspect.

Don't forget if your having something sweet after tea leave it till Bake Off is on, unless it's just me who finds it unbearable to watch without something to go with my mug of tea!

Hi all, good to hear you all seem to be doing well. I am doing ok, yesterday my calories were down but so was my nutrition (bad day with assessment regarding my disabled son), ended up not eating till 6pm and that was egg and chips! Back at work today and done ok eating oatcakes, cottage cheese and chives, grapes and then got home and my dd had cooked a gorgeous veggie creation.
Aim to hit gym after work tomorrow if I can persuade dh to collect ds from his after school specialist club. Smile

Aggressive, I'm not keen on fizzy/soda water. I've bought some bottled still water though, which tastes better than tap water.

I'll try just leaving carbs out most of the time and see how I get on.

Evening all, just popping on to log.
I managed to behave for the rest of the day :)
Lunch was 2 slices of rye bread toasted with cottage cheese.
I've done 10 mins of jumping around, 20 mins of kettlebells and about 15 mins with the exercise ball - I managed a little better with it but still fell off a few times :( Practice MUST make perfect, I hope. Plus a 40 min walk.
Dinner was a concoction of fresh tomato, basil and garlic sauce with vegetables and a handful of freefrom spaghetti on my mini plate. Was delish.
If I'm peckish later I will have a banana and/or a yogurt.

Again I've not drank enough water, roughly 1.5 litres today and half of that I blitzed a whole lemon in the nutribullet and added half to my water as I find it so boring plain.
My intake won't get much better in the coming days as I've got to start ovulation testing and can't drink much for a few hours during the day, I'll try though.

Anyway, enough of my waffle. Well done everyone, another day done.
We'll all soon be wasting away :)

Had a good day food wise. On my feet all day at work so no exercise as such. Sneaky peek on the scales reveals a 4lb weightloss... Water weight possibly.

Today I had porridge for breakfast made with half milk half water and with half a teaspoon sugar, for lunch I had tomato and basil soup with one slice of toasted rye bread and for dinner I had sweet and sour chicken - no rice. Then this evening I lost the plot a little and had a small bag of crisps and a small chocolate bar. I logged everything on MFP and am only 90 cals over my allowance, so not too bad. I walked with the dog for 40 mins and drank 2 glasses of water and 4 mugs of black decaf coffee.

I know I messed up with the crisps and chocolate, but there are so many treat things left in the house that need eating up.

Working til gone 7 today so won't get a run in as is hoped. Feeling really good today! Have a lovely day everyone!

Ugh. I think my company is trying to save money on the air con. Too damn hot. Went for lovely run this morning. Did the 20km as planned - nearly died of dehydration though as was about 30 degrees.

Breakfast: 2 x toast with peanut butter and a cuppa
Snack: can of fanta after run (sugar and liquid needed urgently)
Lunch: Squid salad, pitta and humous
Dinner: It's going to be japanese BBQ for a friend's bday, which is a low carbers dream (really good quality grilled beef and salad), other than the fact that I'll probably have about 5 pints of Asahi with it.

Notonaschoolnight I cannot watch Bake off. It makes me obsessed with cake for days afterwards.

I like reading what everyone else is eating - good for ideas! soulsister what are chia seeds?

Today I've had porridge with frozen berries and a cup of tea for breakfast, an apple, scrambled egg on one slice of wholemeal bread for lunch. Planning to have baked salmon with potatoes and veg for tea, more veg and fewer potatoes for me! The caffeine withdrawal headache has worn off and I feel better for not chain-drinking tea.

Everyone seems to be doing really well. I plan to weigh in tomorrow, which will be day seven with no wine! Didn't manage my bike ride yesterday but have a pretty clear day today so will do it this morning, then adult gym class tonight. Have a good day everyone!

Urgh!
Feel like death today after around 3 hours sleep.
Slept for 2 hours then woke and couldn't get back to sleep. This is usually dangerous territory for me and I would normally snack.
I was peckish/craving so I had a cup of 80% hot chocolate with a drop of honey and nothing more :)

After sleeping for 1 hour more I've had more coffee's than I would usually but needed something to wake me up.
Breakfast was a mixture of strawberries, kale, a few spoons of cottage cheese, few spoons of oats, flax seeds and water all blitzed together in the nutribullet to make a filling shake.

I'm going to weigh in maybe Tuesday - giving me a full 7 days to see what the scales say. I will also re-do my measurements then too. I've surprised myself because usually I'm a scales demon. On-off -on-off but I haven't since Monday. Mostly to do with the fact my weight can go up or down 2kilos in the same day and I don't want ANY negativity at the moment.

Have a good day all!

Trying a semi-fast day today, ie eating v little in the day but having a reasonable dinner.

Have had:
natural yoghurt and blueberries for breakfast
a Jordans cereal bar, plus celery, carrots and grapes for lunch
Am having omelette and salad for tea, with a very few wedges.

Not feeling too horribly hungry but have had a headache this afternoon. I suspect this is because I haven't had enough water, rather than food.

Chia seeds.... Small seeds. Highly nutritious

Going out for lunch with my manager tomorrow but planning to do a 3 1/2 mile run and a bootcamp class first so won't stress over menus too much! I'm still a little achey from Mondays run and work

New running shoes and some winter running gear arrived today... Trying asics for a change.

:) Bakingtins. How dare they try to weaken our resolve.

Today I've managed to resist Mcdonalds - not a biggy really as I seldom eat there but I was starving and would usually have grabbed a burger or a milkshake if ravenous. I didn't and waited until I got home and had some rye toast with cottage cheese and a banana.
It did prompt me to make sure I've got something in my bag handy. I've put in some dates and some pumpkin seeds - I WILL NOT SUCCUMB

Dinner tonight was pork, mushrooms and onions in a Mexican spicy sauce served with brown rice. 2 plums and an apple chopped with some frozen greek yoghurt.
I'm stuffed.
Water intake crap! As I predicted as it's difficult when I can't drink much and have to hold my pee for 3/4 hours.
Walked for 90 mins today and done 20 mins kettlebells.
Another day done!

Enjoy your evening all.

I've had an OK day today. No breakfast, but a snack of tomato and basil soup mid morning, then home made shepherds pie (with swede instead of potato) for lunch and for dinner lightly dusted lemon sole with cauliflower cheese and roasted carrots and corn on the cob, with a dessert of a small scoop of icecream. I took the dog for a walk and drank 1.5 litres of water.

Thought i'd posted but it's not here!

2 days away so walked but also drank red wine and had a cooked breakfast.

Today I am surviving 5 hours of babysitting an extra 3 year old so will be drinking a lot of coffee Wink Tomorrow is 2 birthday parties.

We are setting up the bike turbo this weekend so i can indoors cycle whilst dh is working away.

Report
AggressiveBunting · 05/09/2014 09:39

What's a bike turbo? Is it one of those racks so you can use your normal bike like an exercise bike inside? I quite fancy one of those.

Anyway, all a bit disasterous in the last 24 hrs. As predicted, the clean eating, low carb japanese BBq was accompanied by 4 glasses of Sapporo and (the shame) a plum wine. Then, today

  • cheese and tomato toastie for breakfast
  • sobu noodles in miso soup with tuna sashimi and a punnet of blackberries for lunch

[wheel detaches from diet wagon and flies past]
  • An entire bag of liqorice allsorts. Bad. I know. I dont know what it is with those things but every few months I get a massive craving and just have to eat some lots.

Ugghh. And then tonight I've got a work event so not sure what I'm going to end up with for dinner- probably 5 canapes and a glass of champagne.

Ah well, back on it tomorrow- got Crossfit first thing and then might try to get a run in in the afternoon.Pleasingly, a really good runner I know saw me out training yesterday and commented to a mutual friend that I was looking on good form for the upcoming race, so that's something.

Well done those losing already. I eyed the scales when I went for my morning wee but didn't jump on them..... I'm starting to want to check but will try to wait.

Breakfast today was a nutribullet blitz of - spinach, avocado, raspberries, oats, flax seeds - made into a shake with water and a splash of skimmed milk.
I'm stuffed from it.

Have a good day everyone.

3 mile run and a bootcamp 'rubber band' workout targeting arms! Then another run round the cricket pitch!

Quick shopping trip with adult dd and now I'm getting ready to go out for lunch with my manager. This could be where it all goes wrong!!

Had blueberries and 2 boiled eggs for breakfast.

Keep going everyone, with the weekend approaching let's not fall off the wagon too much
