Standards have slipped!

My little part time job has become almost full time, the kids have been home and it's been too hot to keep my running up. The old healthy eating has slipped too. Sugar has crept in and weight has crept on

So, sept 1st

Weigh
Measure
Start running weekly x 3
Back to bootcamp
Juicing and healthy eating

And I'm going to track the lot on myfitnesspal/mapmyrun/fitbug.com

Oh, and for the first time in going to do the water thing. 2 litres a day. That is new for me but achievable I think

So, gives us about 3 1/2 months til Christmas. Anyone else?

Right, day 1.
Have weighed myself, and got a book to write it down in.
I'm booked into spin tonight so starting as I mean to go on.

Can I join too? After the excesses of the holiday I am now at my heaviest non-pregnant weight since I got married, my clothes are all too tired and I feel bleugh. Main temptation will be that I work in an office where there are always cakes and biscuits on offer - so I will have to be strong willed!

Can I join too.

I weighed myself at Boots this morning and my BMI is 26.9 and my body fat % 38.1.

I am also going to take my measurements.

My aim is healthy eating, to start running again and to try the Blogilates 4 week beginners plan.

I'm in. It's been a bad year stress and fitness wise and a steady diet of biscuits and anger mean I'm now weighing in at 145 lbs/ 10 st 5. Ideally, I'd like to be approaching 120 but I don't know if that's even realistic with my advancing age.

After 3 weeks in the US doing my patriotic duty (A side of pancakes with your four egg cheese omelet? Yes, please!) I'm going to to have to ease myself in to it. So, for September my plan is-

Food diary on MFP- first two weeks at 0 weight loss then .5 lbs a week
Diet- lower sugar, higher protein
Start lifting again 3x a week
And water, always lots of water

I'm going to do pictures and measurements later on, so I'll be back to weep report.

Everybody- good luck with your runs, classes and clean eating today!

Im in. I have far more weight to lose then I've heard on here so far and I need to sort it out.

Plan is 10000 steps a day (the dog will be pleased) with fitbit
Start c25k again once the dc's are back at school.
Food diary / calorie count with mfp
Wishing/hoping/praying/willing the fat away.

Shamed myself on the scales this morning so have a starting point. Let's hope it's all downhill from here!

looby I'm aiming to lose 30lbs. I lost 5 stone a year ago low carbing, so that will be nearly 8 in total by Christmas... I hope!

Had a lovely run in the rain! First in 6 weeks. Was slow but I don't mind that. Off to work now, just had a banana/coconut milk/spinach/berry smoothie. Had just under a litre of water. Will have a coffee at work.

I'm in!
After a 2 month visit back home I've totally let myself slip and piled on 5 kilos :(
For the last 2 weeks since my return I've continued the awful diet and feel so uncomfortable with my growing muffin top.
I usually eat quite healthy in general - I cook from scratch, don't eat wheat (allergic dh) and try and avoid bad carbs, low sugar, salt, don't hardly drink alcohol.
My downfall is eating rubbish late at night (or anytime really) and the sweeter the better. I'm not a huge fan of savoury so don't really eat crisps etc..
Also my portion size need to be dealt with. I polish off slightly less than my 6'4 rake thin Dh and I don't need to eat that much, definitely not.

So I've done my measurements today and I'm starting at
5'10 - 80 kilos (12st 8) which gives me a BMI of slightly overweight 25.3.

Ideally I'd like to get down to 70 k (11st) but will first aim for 74k (11st 9)
I normally have a huge problem in getting under 75 k I seem to just stick there no matter what.

Usually I'd attack with a shock to the system diet like low-carbing and heavy exercising - to give me some decent immediate loss to motivate me but I'm ttc and don't want to risk knocking my hormones out of alignment at the moment (I've done this before through dieting and exercise) so my plan is to-
Cut all crap
Try not to snack
Eat fruit and yoghurt if I think about chocolate/cakes
Use only a smallish square sandwich plate that I have to portion control my dinners, if it doesn't fit on there then I'm not eating it.
Try to eat earlier between 6-7 pm
Try to keep bad carbs to an absolute minimum.
Exercise more as I've let that slip too because of a long standing spine issue.
Drink more water. I usually currently manage 1l daily so my aim is to double it.
Keep a food diary.

Right I think I'm ready :)

So far today I've had
A bowl of porridge
A fresh fig with honey.
I'm making a lovely chicken and pork goulash with buckwheat groats for dinner and will probably have some fruit and yoghurt after.

I've walked for 20 mins and I'm actually going to inflate my yoga ball and start stretching my muscles, will also do 10-15 mins of jumping around to get myself ready to hopefully rake Jillian back out for her 30 day shred at some stage.

Good luck all.

Have managed an hour on exercise bike today. Have eaten healthy and had no bread, so thats a good start.

Well done Mummy.

Right! That didn't go so well, I've almost put a knife through the bastard yoga ball, much to dh's amusement although he didn't dare openly laugh :)
I've just fell off/rolled off it and hurt and my knee :( I don't know where I'm going wrong but its bloody difficult.
I'm glad I done 30 mins of other exercise before trying my yoga ball.
Off now to google/youtube if I should inflate it more/less and to get some a better technique going before I do myself a real injury :)

Good luck with the exercise ball CarbeDiem!

My no sugar thing slipped a little today, made some cakes for DH's work and had to test some of the mixture... but I didn't eat any actual cakes so it's not too bad! Struggling a little bit as I didn't lose any weight last week despite having no sugar.
Going to do a few miles on the exercise bike but DD woke up some I'm feeding her for now.

Done ok today. Even resisted the biscuits at work that I purchased in France and looked so good.
went to gym tonight from work - unheard of in week. I have about 2.5 stone to get rid of, going to be a long process.
Hope you have all had a good first day Smile

Also did okay today. Avoided all snacks including the breaktime biscuits and had half a portion of pud plus some fruit, instead of all pud! Lots of fruit and vege. Tomorrow's job is to remember to drink more water.

Good day exercise-wise yesterday but a massive "could do betterer" on the eating front. Went to Crossfit in the morning early, and then had sugar-free muesli and plain yoghurt for breakfast (plus skinny latte) at work, and then a mixed salad with egg for lunch and one of those supermarket boxes of blackberries. All good. Then the wheels came off as I remembered at 4.45pm that DD needed new trainers, had to rush into town to get them after work, then got back home with no time to eat before meeting my running partner, so dinner ended up being a mini pkt of pizza flavoured bagel chips from the kids's snack cupboard on the way to the trailhead, plus 2 pints of full fat Ribena with a sachet of rehydration salts dissolved in it. I never feel like eating after a run, plus it was 10.30 by then so I just went to bed. I'm not sure this food diary would pass muster on any diet that has so far been invented. I did have a good training run though. Has given me a sliver of hope that I might make it round my race in 5 weeks time.

Well, yesterday I walked the dogs in the rain for about an hour and did a 5k run. I'm still floundering food wise - I need to follow an actual diet, I think. I just need to decide on which one and stick to it...will keep trying to be 'sensible' in the meantime. Good luck everyone!

I'm in. I'm half heatedly dieting all the time, but them I binge. Managed fine until recently but lost motivation. But I've managed to keep up the shred so I just need to wor on the food thing.
As someone else said I need to eat well during the day and then save my treat for after children are in bed. Not eat chocolate all day long. That is the one thing I need to sort out. Chocolate not until after 8pm
