Standards have slipped!

My little part time job has become almost full time, the kids have been home and it's been too hot to keep my running up. The old healthy eating has slipped too. Sugar has crept in and weight has crept on

So, sept 1st

Weigh
Measure
Start running weekly x 3
Back to bootcamp
Juicing and healthy eating

And I'm going to track the lot on myfitnesspal/mapmyrun/fitbug.com

Oh, and for the first time in going to do the water thing. 2 litres a day. That is new for me but achievable I think

So, gives us about 3 1/2 months til Christmas. Anyone else?

Me. First trail race of the season in less than 6 weeks. Too heavy and nowhere near fit enough (first race is 43km technical trail including 1000m of ascent/descent). I can barely run 20km. Got back from hols 2 weeks ago and all I seem to have done since then is work and go to kids parties (read: eat cake and drink wine). Dh away this week so good opportunity to get back on the straight and narrow, starting at 0.600 tomorrow (i.e. as soon as I've finished this glass of rose and had some sleep). I'm aiming to lose 7lbs in 5 weeks 5 days.

Me please. I have been shopping for my healthy foods today. Just back from a cheese and bread feast in France - think it was all I ate, but it was delicious. My weight has crept up, clothes don't fit and I need to sort it!

Me please! Back to work and the usual routine which makes it easier for me not to snack or eat rubbish food. I want to lose a stone and a half, drop a good dress size and tone up. Have got bike, 30 Day Shred and slow cooker for lots of soups.

I'm definitely in I should be 11'6 for my height but am normally 11'10 but don't work school hols so now weigh 12'2. I tried to start a diet Tues but was pointless as I've had people staying fri, sat, sun but when they left today I made a shopping list based on 5 recipes from hairy dieters book so healthy eating starts tomorrow I also made a youtube playlist of exercise videos but my backs gone so will have to give that a miss for now

I'll weigh myself every Fri morning and let you know how I've got on

Good luck everyone!Smile

Yes, please. Another teacher here, and I eat much more when I'm on holiday as we eat out a lot more, as well as getting out of a routine etc.

I'd like to lose just four or five pounds, but be generally healthier. I'm going to try the water thing, maybe do a semi 5:2 thing and try to get back on the Couch to 5k as I've not been out for ages as haven't been v well. Oh and I need to eat more fruit too (generally good at eating vege).

I'm in, I was posting on the post-natal thread but it seems to have died a death.
My 3rd baby is 3m old, I am turning 40 in another 3 months and I have 20lb to lose. I've lost 11lb in the last 2 months, but been on holiday and fallen off the wagon in the last couple of weeks. I'm suffering from post-natal arthralgia (sore joints) so no running etc possible at the moment. I've been doing a loose version of SW and have just signed up for 12 weeks of Mutu mamas, which combines physio/exercises for my ravaged abs and pelvic floor with daily walks, HIIT sessions and healthy eating. It seems to advocate low carbing which I'm not sure about, my kids live on pasta, rice etc and I don't have the energy to cook separately for them, plus I am breastfeeding and starving hungry.
I want to enter my 40s feeling fit and fabulous, not fat and frumpy!

I wasn't a runner at all til last year when I signed up for the London bupa 10km with mnet woolly hug runners, twas s drunken madness moment but I really enjoyed it. Did couch to 5km then the bridge to 10km and was running 7-10km three times a week and then let it slip so have started back just before summer, doing 5-7km three times a week and building up, try to do a hill Sprint session once a week to work on my pace.

My baby is now 3!! So need to lose this last ten lbs! I cycle to School with dd in bike seat so do 8-12miles a day depending on if it's a pre school day, so getting back to that will help.

I'm in, need to lose a stone.

MIL gave us a ton of crisps and "bad food" that she said her and my FIL weren't going to eat. I put it in a big cardboard box and starting filling the staff room.

Went shopping yesterday and bought a ton of fruit and veg. Ready to start juicing on tomorrow.

We have a little gym that DH uses (it was the basement) so I'm going to start using the treadmill and dumbells after work now.

Drinking jasmine and chamomile tea at the moment, also have Chai on a Sunday as a treat.

With DTs I put on 37lbs and since then I've lost 40lbs. But I need to lose another 5lbs before I'm at my ideal weight.

Chai tea? Heard lots about it. Need to cut down on my caffeine so I think tea might bethe way forward

Maybe switch to brown rice/wholemeal pasta bakingtins? I did this and my dc didn't even notice

I have 2 little pots... One contains thirty of those polished glass pebbles from the bottom of vases.... Every pound I shift goes into the empty jar.... This is my motivation. If I fill the jar I get my target clothing.... An outfit for Xmas party 'season'. I currently like some black leather look trouser/legging type things in NEXT. Got loooong legs so they should look fab! I'm not really a dress person

I find all the different diets out there confusing! everyone is promoting their pet theory on how to lose weight. SW extra easy worked well for me after baby 2, it basically just meant home cooking everything as all processed food was high syns, and increasing fruit/veg, but no restriction on 'basic' complex carbs like rice, pasta, couscous.
I'm going to listen to the Mutu food video again, it's advocating a form of paleo/clean eating, though to be fair it talks a lot about small changes and keeping it achievable.
I need to decide on the criteria I'm going to stick to - you lot can help by holding me accountable Wink

bakingtins · 31/08/2014 21:43

Have listened to MuTu food again and actually wholewheat carbs are ok and it was all more measured than I had remembered, so not to different to what I was attempting in the first place.
I have taken 'before' photos and my measurements and it's worse than I thought. I'm still a "perfect 10" in my imagination but I actually need to lose 5 inches from my waist and hips to get there....

Report
HeySoulSister · 31/08/2014 21:51

Sometimes it's more motivational to lose inches than pounds. Well done for being so organised

I'm full of lemon drizzle cake and I'm now having my last cup of tea before bed. Forgot to add, I'm also going to try and be in bed earlier every night... In bed sleeping and not MNing!

Could I join you too please? I want to lose 3 stones. I've recently completed C25K and can now run for 35 minutes (have amazed myself); my next challenge is to lose this weight. My main prob is that I've tried way too many diets over the years and now just feel totally confused by it all Confused. So, I'm going to start by cutting out snacks and having 3 sensible meals a day and no wine in the week...

May I join you please?

Just back from holidays and looking to lose a stone by Christmas. I'm 5ft 3in and 11 st so that will get me to a much neater 10 st. I need to concentrate on eating good stuff to keep my vitamins up, not snacking mindlessly, and getting enough sleep so I have energy to exercise. I work full time at the moment so that's going to be tricky to fit in.

My target to start with is to drop 4lbs in the next fortnight; I've weighed in on the Wii and put that in. However I tend to weigh in on Friday so that might be a bit tight. Eek!

Good luck for September everyone!

Me! Just got back from USA where I managed to maintain which I am chuffed about, dropped carbs (apart from wine, well, it was a holiday!) but want to lose about 18lb before Christmas.

Low carb and 5:2 work for me so back on it today.
