Hi I weigh 10 st 9lbs and want to get to below 10st. Just going to be watching what I eat, walking the dog, couple of gym sessions and cutting down on the wine.

Anybody want to join me Smile

Can I join you? I have way more than 10lbs to lose but I'm trying to set smaller goals so that I don't over face myself!

I was 18 stone 9 a month ago, I am now 17 stone 5. I'm now discounting the first weight loss and starting again with the aim of shedding 10lbs. I can't face the whole lot in one go so I'm having lots of little goals!

dottyaboutstripes · 10/07/2014 12:11

Lunar that's fantastic in a month! I agree that small chunks is the best way - I lost 4 st (it's my 11th year of being at/around goal weight) and it took ages but one day at a time is the way to do it.....and you CAN do it!

trikken · 10/07/2014 13:10

Yes thats brilliant lunar. Thats how I did it too. It's too much to get your head around all in one go.

Mojito100 · 10/07/2014 13:28

Welcome to all and great work lunar. I like your idea of starting again and cutting your plan down into smaller chunks (no pun intended).

I haven't had a great day. I was not organised this morning and raced out of the house early for work and then was late home so have not eaten well. I start again tomorrow with a focus and some great tips. I'm going to try the abs exercise in front of the TV and am planning 2 long walks this weekend. I've also taken on board the salad dressing in the fridge idea for the week and will be doing that as well as boiling some eggs. I am going to adopt the clean living plan to the best of my ability. I love protein do it shouldn't be too hard.

nilbyname · 10/07/2014 14:31

lunar that it incredible! Well done!

Motherofdragons- Cake might not be the best idea! What about making flapjacks with molasses rather than syrup?

I try not to have any crud in the house, although I do have lots of baked crisps for ds and his packed lunches.

rivierliedje · 10/07/2014 15:53

change NoS is here
It's very simple (and therfore slow and hopefully sustainable): you don't eat snacks, sweets or seconds.
I need simple at the moment, because I tend to break a rule a little bit and then give up, so the fewer rules the better

changeeverything · 10/07/2014 19:30

Rivier, it looks like a sensible, no nonsense approach which will work long term. It's how people used to eat when we weren't so weight obsessed!

Welcome to lunar and dotty :)

Ive had a good day..big omelette with vegetables and salad for lunch. Took the dog for a long walk. Trying to remember to drink lots of water and green tea.

Going to do plank a couple of times befire bed. Need to improve my times and it is so effective for abs! Just need to strip off the layer of flab to see the results though.

Hope you all have had a good day x

Tonight's supper.

Anyone want to join me to lose 10lbs??
changeeverything · 10/07/2014 21:54

Looks good, nil!

I've had a slip up tonight, got dragged out by dd to do some late night shopping and we left before I had time for dinner. So I was ready to eat my own hand off by the time we were going back to the car and I bought a bag of crisps from the vending machine, ah well it could have been chocolate or a big bag of skittles!! Back on plan again....

Will do a few exercises before bed time and have something more sensible to eat before bed.

One packet is not ideal, but it could have nene way worse!

I did 3 sets of 15 of the kettle bell swing mad today I am SORE! I go to the gym 3-4 times a week and consider myself fit! Yikes

lunar1 · 11/07/2014 15:06

Thank you for the welcome everyone. I've been very good yesterday and today but mostly because we are going to a Chinese buffet tomorrow! That will be a real test for me.

After reading a couple of other posts I've done a bit of exercise as well, tried doing the shred video on you tube but I'm going to have to get a sports bra for next time.

changeeverything · 11/07/2014 16:53

Me too, nil, I have done 4 hour long sessions at the gym since monday because im off work this week. Feel like ive been shredded to pieces!!!

Hi lunar, well done on the exercise. Chinese buffett is prob the best place if you are trying to eat clean. Loads of stirfry veg and meats/shellfish. Just try to stay away from anything in batter or deepfried...think of us willing you on to keep going towards your weightloss goal!!

Its my birthday today so Im going to use my cheat meal today, just have to make sure I get straight back to the healthy food tomorrow. I bought myself some pushup bars and a new exercise ball as a birthday treat Grin

Hope you are all having a good day x

Have a nice birthday meal change.

dottyaboutstripes · 11/07/2014 19:50

Happy birthday change!
I've had my 3rd good day in a row so I'm hoping I can keep it up over the weekend - though tomorrow we are having a party for our 3 DSs and their 3 lots of classmates plus sibs so I might feel the need to hit the vino and chocs after that (it's a leaving party as we are moving, hence the stress induced overeating lately!)
I need to take a leaf out of everyone else's book and do some exercise too

Mojito100 · 12/07/2014 01:10

Happy birthday change. With you in spirit Lunar at your buffet. Good luck Dotty it sounds like a gun party but exhausting too. Move around as much as you can at the party and try to increase your steps for the day. This may help a little. It's the weekend here for me and I have 3 days off work. I'm going into cooking mode so I can prepare lots of healthy foods I can freeze for my meals during the week. I'm also going to walk everyday and take long walks. The dogs and I both need the exercise.

ShotgunNotDoingThePans · 12/07/2014 10:11

Sorry change went off yesterday without posting the chickpea burger recipe. They're yummy but quite dry - we just have a jar of pasta sauce with them.
I still lile them even though I've overdosed on them lately; as well as Wednesday's dinner, I had them for breakfast on Thursday with a poached egg (kept me going all morning), and last night for dinner with polenta and salad.
After 26 years of marriage, we've just acquired a burger press, and it's such a joy - no idea why I didn't have one before!

ShotgunNotDoingThePans · 12/07/2014 10:19

And happy birthday change!

Dotty, we're moving house soon as well, but weirdly I haven't had the moving-house-stress-thing yet -but we're quite early on in the process Smile. Have fun at the party!

I did gain 2 stone a few years ago when we were having an extension; the kitchen building dragged on and on and we had microwaved meals every day for about two months. Then I had my new Aga and baked cakes every day to 'make full use of it' Hmm

Forgot to say, I might have had three glasses of wine last night with the healthy supper Blush.

Thanks everyone. Had a lovely meal out and lots of red wine!!

Back to the healthy eating and exercise again. Going to take the dog out for a long walk soon.

Thanks for the recipe shotgun.

I moved house recently..all the best with the party and the move dotty!

Still feeling ropey after the wine last night....

Have had a homemade smoothie with raspberries, blueberries, protein powder, greek yog and milk. Also some herbal tea.

Lol-ing at your extension story, shotgun!!

I put on weight during my house move. It all went smoothly until the completion date kept changing at thelast minute. ..so we were living out of boxes. Cue takeaways, microwave meals and wine!!

We are well settled in now, moved about 10 weeks ago. So all the stress is worth it in the end :)

What's everyone up to today? :)

Well I've fallen off the wagon or more to the point I'm hanging off the back of the wagon and doing my best to pull myself all the way on. I was good yesterday until I had a major chocolate craving last night and had 2 chocolate bars. I realised this morning it was hormones kicking in which is no excuse I know. I was good again today until I had a chocolate tonight. I knew if I didn't I would completely pig out and it has stopped me from having more. I'm back on again tomorrow with a plan to cook up some meals.

I have walked the dogs the last 2 days and did a very small run for some of it today. I have also increased my water intake from the start of the week so some things are heading in the right direction.

changeeverything · 12/07/2014 13:39

I'm dragging you back on board mojito!!!

it'll just be a small slip up if you step away from the chocolate!! Grin

Hormonal choccy cravings are a nightmare :(

keep focused today, think slim! X

I did a hilly cycle with dd on the back today, was pretty gentle but lovely to be in the sun.

We ate out for breakfast so I had-
Poached egg, one sausage, one piece of bacon, 2 mushrooms, 2 tomatoes. I have away my hash brown and didn't eat the toast. This was very virtuous I feel.

Just has some Greek yogurt an berries with some toasted oats and almonds on top.

belated birthday wishes chnage

Out to a party tonight, think it might be carnage, lots of booze. I'm still sore from kettle belling though!

changeeverything · 12/07/2014 15:20

Thanks nil. Enjoy your party!! You've eaten well all day and cycled so no reason why you can't use tonight as yiur cheat meal and enjoy :)

When you get the chance, would you mind posting your usual weekly exercise..im always keen to see what others are doing as it inspires me to keep at the exercising! Hope u dont mind me asking! I used to run a lot (loads of 5ks and 10ks and a half marathon) but stopped now as kept injuring myself. ..dodgy achilles and overly tight calves. So have changed to mainly strength training at the gym with some cardio eg rowing machine and a bit of HIITon the exercise bike. But love hearing what others are doing to give me some new ideas.

I go to gym normally x2 a week but also have dumbbells, barbell, exercise ball, kettlebell (only 5kg so need to get a heavier one too), and a power wheel (ouch!!!)

OP posts:
nilbyname · 13/07/2014 12:12

Party was great, not feeling too shabby today which is a result!

This is my gym routine. I do vary it a bit but this is my usual.

5 mins on the treadmill, fast walk to warm up

20 minutes of HIIT on the treadmill, so thats 1m at level 15/16 then 1m at level 4. Do this for at least 15 minutes, but try it for 20. Its a killer but it has delivered.

Then a weights circuit which is-
3 x 15 reps
lat pull down 28kg
chest press 15kg
leveraged shoulder press 15kg
wire pull down thingy (for biceps and triceps) 28kg
bench press- 15kg
weighted rower/pull thing (you sit on a bench) 22kg
I would say that I do 4/5 of these regularly

Then I do my abs
Russian twist with 5kg ball-75
Pulse- 50
Windmills- 20
Pipe crunch with 5kg ball-50
Plank- 2x 1minute
I try and do all of this.

Then for stretching I do 4 full yoga sun salutations, then I will do some further leg stretches.

Then I will do a 15-20 minute jog/run

Then I go home. It takes 1.5 hours. I sweat like a mofo, and I have lost and kept off the half stone that just wasn't shifting. I have another half or so to go and want to get more toned. My tummy is my problem area and where I carry all my weight. Hence no leg toning weights.

When I had my PT app in March I was 31% body fat. Which for my height and build made me look like a right little jubly. Now its 26% I gym it 3-4 times a week.
