Mutusystem
It's aimed at new mothers - Mummy Tummy - especially those with diastasis rectii, but I thought it would be a gentle way for an ancient mum like me to work on my abs, as I have back ishoos.
Not sure how effective it's been, tbh, but you're supposed to do it four times a week whereas I've only managed twice, so I'm hardly a shining example.
I have hope for my new o
pilates class, though - it's run by a physio who checks on everyone, so hopefully between the two I might end up toned and pain-free!
Chickpea burgers are from the BBC Goodfood website - will link in the morning as I'm off to bed.

Yesterday was bad. I'm not telling you what I aye, it definitely didn't involve a drie through, and absolutely no fried food. Nope, no way.

I'm in my gym kit, just had an orange. Then the gym for some HIIT, strength and cardio an my ab session. Then home to work. Then I might go back to the gym.....might!
I want to try the kettle bell swing into burpies. Anyone done that? It's a rep if 15 down to 1 of swing-squat then same for a full burpie. You do 2 reps. It's supposed to be a killer!

Today's menu is-
Smoked salmon salad with leaves, cucumber, avocado and lemon juice. A hard boiled egg.
Dinner is chicken thighs with lime and chilli with kale chips.

Migh buy some almonds.

I snack on soy beans with salt and chilli flakes, apnea, alcoves, tomatoes with basil and a touch of balsamic vinegar.

MrsDesperado · 10/07/2014 09:07

Today is a new day nilbyname, forget yesterday! Yesterday wasn't perfect for me, either.

I've been interested in the MuTu system too, but I'm put off the cost. If I knew a) I would actually do it and b) it definitely works I'd get it in a flash (well, as soon as I'd saved some pennies)

In the meantime, I'm considering doing these ab exercises every night, it's only 10 minutes and not complicated so doing it in front of the telly should be doable.

Today's menu is raspberries and Greek yoghurt for breakfast, salad with spinach, peppers, cheddar cheese, celery and peanut butter for lunch (it's all I had in!). Not sure what's for dinner yet, need to go shopping after work.'

Have a good day everyone.

Draw a line under yesterday, nil, one meal isn't going to wreck your progress unless you let it send you off on a full on binge.

Would you mind explaining the kettlebell/burpee combo for me, not sure how many between swap between squat and burpee. I saw a woman at the gym do numerous burpees holding a weighted sandbag the whole time, was well impressed! They wreck me without adding in extra weight (unless my tummy counts :) )

MuTu prob too late for me, my youngest is 9! I am going to try to do at least 1 minute plank twice a day, they are s effective. There's another exercise where yiu lie flat on floor arms straight out behind head holding exercise ball, then reach up with upper body, still straight arms and bring legs up straight to pass exercise ball to between ankles then bring arms and legs back to floor straight out. Don't know if Ive explained that very well but it is very effective for abs.

Your food plans look really tasty for today, keep up the effort everyone! Monday weigh in will hopefully show a good result :)

Nil, what are apnea and alcoves snacks??? Grin

change I know flipping auto correct!

Snacks-
Kale chips, olives, almonds, soy beans with salt and chilli flakes. Some wafer thin chicken or salmon.

I'm going to find the link for you....hang on

m0therofdragons · 10/07/2014 10:34

Oooh can I join. I've done sw before but if I see another Muller light yogurt I might cry. Need to get a grip as I'm creeping up on the scales.

Currently 10st 7lbs and want to be under 10. I'm a12 but things are a little snug and I'm avoiding jeans or tight tops, opting for forgiving floaty dresses instead. Weigh in on Mondays sounds like a good plan.

changeeverything · 10/07/2014 10:40

Thanks, nil!

welcome, m0therofdragons :)

It's hardcore

I would advice getting your gym pt to go through it with you as it needs ally of good form to ensure you're getting the most out of it.

nilbyname · 10/07/2014 10:44

I'm not big on weighing in...but I am keen to lose body fat, so I am 26% now! and my goal is 21% which is a pretty tough goal!

Also I want to fit into my couture wedding gown again as I was my ideal shape and size back then (8 years ago)

2 c sections and loads of crisps have ruined my body!

m0therofdragons · 10/07/2014 10:45

Can I ask a stupid question about clean eating? If I baked a cake from scratch is that okay to eat? I'm presuming not...

changeeverything · 10/07/2014 10:45

Hi, cant get the link to work for me :(

OP posts:
changeeverything · 10/07/2014 10:48

Mmm m0therofdragons, no!!! Grin ...unless its your cheat meal and you don't eat the whole cake yum

clean eating is about eating proper meals with unprocessed foods, plenty of protein and veg

changeeverything · 10/07/2014 10:51

Nil those fat % are very impressive. If I can stay below 30% I'll b happy!

I have measured myself too, hips and waist. Sometimes I find that high protein and exercise approach loses inches first then lb s. Will see on Mon!!

m0therofdragons · 10/07/2014 10:53

Just realised flour is processed. I'm so rubbish lol.
So far today I've had 2 small bananas and some blue berries plus a cup of tea (with skimmed milk and half a teaspoon of sugar.)

What's everyone having for lunch? Need speedy ideas as I'll be looking after my 2yo twins again by lunch time.

changeeverything · 10/07/2014 10:58

I'm going to have an omelette with ham, mushrooms, onions and peppers for lunch

rivierliedje · 10/07/2014 11:02

Can I join? I have 11kilo's to lose. On Monday I was 66kg.
I need to do it slowly, so am going with the NoS diet. I'll walk and cycle everywhere, not be lazy and take the bus, do a bit of running and the 7 minute work out which actually takes 8 minutes

Have had porridge with soya milk and apple sauce for breakfast today.
Will have soup for lunch.

chipshop · 10/07/2014 11:03

Loving this thread! I'm 10st 11lbs, 5ft 8. 10st is my aim, by the end of Aug when I'm going on hols.

I do MFP and gym 3 x week. My downfall at the moment is alcohol, DP's been abroad for weeks and my lovely friends keep inviting me out to share bottles of wine and cocktails.

changeeverything · 10/07/2014 11:09

Hi rivierliedje and chipshop :) welcome
Yeah, I agree the magic combination for weight/inch loss is eating well and doing some exercise (the old 'eat less, move more')

Alcohol is my problem area, love a good red wine but then I want snacks!!

Rivier, whats NoS?

dottyaboutstripes · 10/07/2014 11:10

I'm going to join in! I'm only 5ft 1 and 9st 7. At Christmas I weighed 8st 9 so I'm feeling really flabby and about to burst out of my clothes! I've been overeating (and basically eating the wrong things) because there's a lit if stressful stuff going on but the time has come to get a grip. So far today I've eaten a bowl of porridge so that's a good start at least Wink

dottyaboutstripes · 10/07/2014 11:12

Wine is also a downfall here. I think I'll just have the one glass and then the willpower goes and the one glass turns into 3 plus nibbles etc. it's SO GOOD though!

nilbyname · 10/07/2014 11:23

mother of dragons Lunch is usually some sort of green salad with some sort of protein like salmon, chicken, tofu, feta, prawns.

I like green types of beans in my salad too.

I make a jam jar of dressing for the week an leave that in the fridge. Then the salad part is mostly an assembly job.

You could hard boil some eggs for the fridge and cook up some beans- enough for 2/3 meals in advance too.

Twins? That must be a work out in of itself! ;)

nilbyname · 10/07/2014 11:24

dotty I am the same as you! it all went wrong at Christmas but it's getting better now.

No booze 4/7 days and then gin and tonics or white/rose topped up with soda water and ice.

m0therofdragons · 10/07/2014 11:33

The twins force fed me the blueberries :)

I basically get to mid pm and the girls are having tantrums because they're tired and won't nap so I reach for the cupboard and eat... I'll start with a chocolate mini roll for energy then have 3 without thinking. I never used to be like this but I think it's down to tiredness!

dottyaboutstripes · 10/07/2014 11:43

Tiredness makes it even harder to eat healthily that's for sure.
Reading back I see I also have fat fingers Grin
