Hi I weigh 10 st 9lbs and want to get to below 10st. Just going to be watching what I eat, walking the dog, couple of gym sessions and cutting down on the wine.

Anybody want to join me Smile

Blimey nilby id be in a heap on the floor after all that! Something to aim for I guess.

I think I did ok at the buffet last night, I at least avoided anything battered, and the rice and noodles. I may have overdone the chilli duck though! Making up for it today though, I'm being extra healthy so far and I've got some spicy fish marinating for tea. Will be braving the scales tomorrow.

rivierliedje · 13/07/2014 13:35

Ugh, I went to a bbq last night and I had way too much to eat. And they didn't have any water (well, not easily accesible anyway), so drank tons of fizzy drinks. And had crisps and things.

I've spent all morning on a walk with my baby sister though, so that's good. We walked and I ran after her on her balance bike, we jumped in puddles and played on the playground. For three hours. Quite active really.

dottyaboutstripes · 13/07/2014 14:12

Nilby your gym routine sounds very much like what I used to do 4x per week but I stopped going. Maybe after my big relocation I can somehow get back into it.
Those who've had a little lapse, just draw a line under it and start again, all is not lost Smile
I'm feeling virtuous - the kids had a great party and I ate no cake plus I didn't crack open the chilled bottle when we got home, tempting as it was. My usual weigh in day would be Wednesday and I've lost 1.4lbs since then, which is a little step in the right direction

Mojito100 · 13/07/2014 14:30

Morning all. I have had a good day today in the kitchen baking all day but stayed away from the cakes themselves. I've put most in the freezer for kids over the next few weeks. Had a lovely chicken casserole with tomato base for dinner and drank water. Also walked dogs so feeling good now. Thanks for dragging me back on the wagon I needed it. Hormonal cravings should pass by tomorrow which is good and then I can get back on track without the crazy overwhelming urges.

God I was impressed with that gym routine. I was exhausted reading it. Lunar well done at the buffet. Great work.

I love hearing about the food you are eating as it reminds me of all the yummy healthy stuff out there and inspires me to have that instead of something not so healthy.

changeeverything · 13/07/2014 15:27

Wowww Im impressed and inspired by that gym routine, nil!! I read it and was thinking you must feel shredded by the end of it, then noticed that you manage a jog/run at the end of it too Grin Well done x

I do 2x 1 hour sessions with PT per week but I really need to start going on my own a couple of times per week as well. I normally do 3-5 minutes on rower then free weights or machines for the rest...she doesnt let me slack off at all so I leave in a sweaty heap. I really miss my running :( .....but my achilles and calves are so injury prone and ive had so many strains, tears and pulled muscles that I thought it was better to give it up!

The fastest I got on the treadmill was 14.5 for HIIT and that wrecked me. I use the treadmill occasionally now for caveman runs which are another killer...treadmill up to highest incline, no motor running and you have to power the belt yiyrself as you run...normally do 20sec intervals for 8 reps.

I have to confess to everyone that I was really unhealthy last night. Might have been still feeling below par after being out on Friday for my birthday but really there wasn't much to excuse it except stress and a lack of willpower :(

I ate some of the dcs' sweets and choc and also had several glasses of wine..

ive drawn a line under it and today is much better. I have a gammon roasting in the oven for dinner and have bought loads of fresh veg to go with it and mixed berries bfor pudding with greek yog.

Hope you are all having a good day x

I seem to have lost my way! Roast lamb and lots of wine! Well it was my dd's birthday and if that's not something to celebrate I don't know what is.
Tomorrow is another day and I'm determined to get back on the straight & narrow :)

changeeverything · 13/07/2014 19:52

Ah well, dotty..we will get back on form tomorrow!! Im not letting yesterday put me off track. Ive been looking at my weekly intake on my fitness pal and if I take off exercise cals then I probably have managed to stay within my net goal of 1500 kcals per day (although it varies everyday but averages out ariund 1500).

Im going to do some exercise tomorrow and write out some mini goals to focus on.

dotty you can get back on it!

lunar I admire your restraint at the buffet!

I see the gym as work, I go in, do my jobs and then leave. Thts how I metally prepare for it anyway.

We have has loads of family over today and food wise it's been pretty bad, but I am going to start over tomorrow.

ShotgunNotDoingThePans · 14/07/2014 00:20

Pretty bad here too. Am away for the weekend with DH and have been enjoying not having to cater for DCs, so have had lots of fish abd veggie food - but also lots of wine, as well as a tiramisu at the restaurant tonight.
I did do an hour's gardening so am counting that as exercise on mfp!

lunar1 · 14/07/2014 07:43

Braved the scales and I have lost 3lbs last week, so just 7 to go for this challenge (I'm still ignoring the bigger picture). When does anyone else get on the scales?

MrsDesperado · 14/07/2014 09:45

Well done on the 3lbs lunar

Scales this morning read 9st 6.5lb so that's 2lb lost this week. I've not been terribly strict so I'm very pleased!

I actually feel a bit slimmer too! This in itself is motivation to be a bit stricter this week.

Looking forward to hearing about everybody's losses!

lunar1 · 14/07/2014 09:54

Well done mrs, 2lbs is a brilliant loss.

changeeverything · 14/07/2014 10:14

Well done lunar and mrs, that's great :)

I haven't got away with the excesses of my birthday weekend so no loss here. But it has made me even more determined for this week!!

so my mini goals are...
drink more water
exercise 4 times this week at the gym
walk dog bit further than usual
alcohol on 2 out of seven days only

Have a good day everyone :)

Juat checked my measurements and have lost 2 inchesoff my waist yayyy !!

OP posts:
trikken · 14/07/2014 10:43

Ooh well done everyone. That's so good. I've not weighed myself for over a week but will later before bed. Need to upp my exercise as haven't done much in four days. Have mostly eaten ok, but did hsve a bbq on sat and a couple of drinks so making sure I behave today.

changeeverything · 14/07/2014 13:43

Anybody got some advice about best exercise to do at the gym to shift fat if I go on my own? Ill be continuing to do ine hour's strength training x2 per week with pt. Should I use my own time to do HIIT or use some weights too? I think I should be able to fit in 2x45 min sessiins on my own per week if I go when it opens at 630am...eek!!

OP posts:
Mojito100 · 14/07/2014 15:15

Well done everyone on your losses whether they be in weight or inches. I got on the scales today and have gone up by 100 grams. I was 79.8kg on Wednesday and was 79.9kg today. I'm ok with that as I did have chocolate and am terribly hormonal so hope to see a loss next week. I'm with you "change". I'm going to walk the dogs further this week and drink more water. I'm also not going to snack after dinner which is a bad habit that I need to break, even if it is healthy. Keep going everyone. It is possible.

ShotgunNotDoingThePans · 14/07/2014 16:17

Another 'well done'on losses all. Not weighed myself yet as I'm still away, but not expecting great things tomorrow as too much wine has been consumed. I have kept away from the Cornish cream teas though < halo >.

Must join change on the 2 day alcohol rule.

MrsDesperado · 14/07/2014 18:31

Ooh shotgun I'm impressed you managed to resist the Cornish cream teas, I'm not sure i'd have been able to!

I think I will join change and shotgun on the 2 day alcohol rule too. We used to be quite strict about it but it's recently crept up to 4 or 5 days Blush

Well done on the 2" loss change - I'd forgotten about waist measurements and how they can tell you so much more than the scales. I'm going to start measuring my waist too and will post my measurements alongside my weight on Mondays.

Hope everyone is having a happy and healthy Monday!

changeeverything · 14/07/2014 18:42

I've eaten well all day and took the dog out for an hour's walk earlier.

that's true willpower, shotgun, in avoiding the cream tea, a massive well done!!

Mrs, I am very pleased that the inches are off, when I stepped on the scales this mirn I was a bit sad thst theyhhadn't budged but was glad I had recorded my waist and hip measurements last Monday too. Hips havd stayed the same...Im an hourglass shape, it always comes off my middle first, although I woukd really like to lose some off my bust and hips so that my clothes fit better!!

Im hoping the alcohol will make a difference, I did 3 alcohol free days last week but dont think it was enough. Plus I went overboard on the other nights because I was off work this week! It will feel a bit of a struggle as I love red wine in the evening but I would love to lose this weight more.

So might have a couple of glasses tonight then nothing until the weekend :)

OP posts:
dottyaboutstripes · 14/07/2014 18:43

I've done ok today- I'm doing WW points so a bit different from what others are doing but I know it works for me (when I stick to it!). My wine rule is weekends only and I limit myself to one bottle max over 3 days (Friday night is the weekend, right?!), well I only opened the bottle last night and went for it which meant my willpower was gone and I ate LOADS!
Anyway, back to business today and hopefully weigh in will show a loss (it's on a Wed for me)
Good to see losses both lbs and inches!

nilbyname · 14/07/2014 20:02

I have lost 1lb!
Well done very one on your loses,
change your inches are very impressive. My PT says HIIT training is the way to shred fat fast. It has certainly worked for me, but it is pretty hideous.

lunar mini goals are good.

rivierliedje · 14/07/2014 21:03

I've stayed the same as well.
Well done everyone who has lost!

changeeverything · 14/07/2014 21:07

Well done, nil! And dotty..all the best for Wednesday!

I think Ill try the HIIT then, but will do it on the bike to make sure I dont injure myself. Will do 30 secs for 8 reps at level 6 and try get above 130rpm each time. Would that be enough reps? Then maybe go on some of the weights machines.

I've just done a half hour workout at home...
50xkettlebell swings (only have a 5kg bell)
3×20 exercise ball roll ins
3x8 7kg single arm dumbbell shoulder press each arm
4x14 weighted squats with 9kg barbell
3x10 shoulder press with 9kg barbell
50x oblique twists with 5kg kettlebell
3x14 push ups
3x 1 minute planks

Smile

Hope you all have had a good day x
