Big portions so feel full. The high protein helps stop blood sugar crashes, midafternoons I can barely keep my eyes open if I've eaten bread, sugar in my coffee and all my other bad eating habits that creep up in inches and lbs.

Im definitely going to try those kale chips, I love crispy seaweed!

I use the nutri1st nutriwhey protein shake powder in strawberry flavour, tesco sell it.

Only day one and tmi...peeing loads already! Must be the water weight starting to go already Smile

Well done everyone we'll be 10lbs lighter and a dress size smaller soon.

Waterducksback...the clean and lean is strict but I will try to stick to it atkeast 80% of the time and be sensible with my other choices.

Just had a danio mini yoghurt for a snack, they are yummy

Off to work in a bit so just had a greek yoghurt and s crispbread. I work in a supermarket so lots of running about!

MrsDesperado · 08/07/2014 20:45

Hi, can I join? As of yesterday I am 9st8.5 lbs. I'm 5'4" and the extra 10 or 12 lbs consists almost entirely of belly flab from too many sweets, biscuits, chocolates, beer and wine. My littlest is now 2 so I can't blame it on the baby any more! I comfort eat in the evenings, it helps me destress. But it has to stop!

Today I've had raspberries and Greek yoghurt for breakfast, a salad of spinach, peppers, tuna mayo and feta for lunch, and dinner was five-spice salmon with 3 veg and noodles

I also went for a 30 min jog.

Lots of inspiration on this thread!

Oh you re all so good. I'm poorly and had about 3 minutes of sleep last night. All I want is some carbs. Today is going to be tough but I can do it!

I've just tried on a top that I was going to sell because it looked horrendously tight. It fits now! Motivation or what?!

Thanks for the protein recommendation xx

changeeverything · 09/07/2014 09:35

Hope yiu are feeling better nil. Eat well and nourish yiursekf with good, complex carbs...if you are sick then full-on low carb might not be easy x

My step mil has cut out wheat totally and swears by it. She's lost about four stone too. I tried but I can't manage without my toast but it still seems ok as long as I dont have too much and I dont buy uncut loaves as I go crazy and have massive chunks.

Mojito100 · 09/07/2014 15:47

Had a good day today. Really reduced my sugar intake compared with normal. Was out for dinner with friends and food was divine. Luckily it was tapas style eating so I ate very small portions of each as we all shared. I didn't deny myself but also didn't indulge ridiculously. I feel satisfied and not overstuffed. Hope you all have a good day. Stay focused. Exercise is my next step as I didn't manage any today.

WhatsGoingOnEh · 09/07/2014 16:43

Can I join in too??? This is PERFECT. I'm 10st 7 this morning but I NEED to be 9st 3.

trikken · 09/07/2014 17:15

I was doing well but had a cake bar after my lunch. Will make sure dinner is a bit smaller.

changeeverything · 09/07/2014 19:21

Hi whatsgoingoneh welcome :)

Trikken, dont panic about the cake bar, just stay focused for the rest of the day and you'll be fine!

Just had an enormous bowl of raspberries with some greek yoghurt for dinner. Wasn't hungry enough to make the stir fry I'd planned so will have it tomorrow. Still feel full up from lunch, I had100g smoked mackerel, fresh beetroot, tbsp potato salad and sliced tomatoes.

Will just have something small at suppertime plus I need to drink more fluids (unfortunately not wine, wail!!)

Day3 is when it usually goes off the rails for me, so please be ready to do some ass-kicking if I start to falter :)

Hows everyone else been getting on today? X

MrsDesperado · 09/07/2014 21:24

Evenin' all

Today started off ok then the usual stresses of life got me...:

Boiled egg for breakfast

Salad of spinach, peppers and feta and another boiled egg for lunch. Strawberries and Greek yoghurt for afters.

large handful of almonds

Got home from work and the kids were super tired and hard work and thus I inhaled 4 crackers and 2 chocolate digestives whilst hiding from them in the kitchen Angry

Dinner was a small portion of chilli and rice

then 2 more chocolate digestives Sad

No exercise today either. So not a great day! Feeling annoyed with myself. Need to find better ways to cope with the stresses of tired small children. Also need to find an alternative way of 'treating' myself/having something to look forward to after the kids go to bed, which doesn't involve food or alcohol.

What does everyone else do?

Hope everyone's day has been better than mine.

changeeverything · 09/07/2014 22:25

I normally destress with, ahem...food AND alcohol so I'm not in the best position to advise you.

The rest of your day looks fine. I'm trying to eat enough so I don't end up really hungry then caving to temptation. I find this time of night difficult though, normally have a glass of red wine and some crisps or nuts in front of me while I watch TV to relax after sorting out dcs, been at work etc

I am trying to think of how much better l will feel with these pounds off, clothes fitting better, less of a wine belly.

Just had two gluten free oatcakes as a snack but have had rather a generous day meal-wise: muesli for breakfast, chickpea burgers with rice for lunch and gf pasta Bolognaise for dinner.
Am tracking with MyFitnessPal and aiming for about 1500 cals a day, so any loss will be slow - but I've starved myself in the past and it makes me miserable, plus I regain pretty soon afterwards.
Didn't manage exercise today - am vaguely following the Mutu system but finding it a bit dull. Plus I've spent 6 months getting to week 8! Blush Pilates tomorrow.

changeeverything · 09/07/2014 23:36

Im aiming for 1500 kcals a day too shotgun with an emphasis on protein when possible. So it'll be slow and steady for me.

what's mutu system? Will have to google.

would you mind sharing chickpea burger recipe, sounds yum
